Based on your favorite genres if you haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse novels yet I think they would fit. They are by Charlaine Harris.

This series sounds perfect for what I was looking for! I can't believe I've never heard of them though. I'm usually right up to date with Vampire series/novels that come out.

The are quick reads that are fairly cheap, I think they are like $8 new.

If anything, I'll more than likely go to the library and check them out.

They are pretty popular so most libraries should have them

If you want to read an easy, mindless read that's different, try the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. By no means is it amazing literature, but it kept me interested the whole way through.

I actually haven't gotten to those yet either, almost everytime I go to check them out, someone has them.

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Vampire Academy Series by Rachelle Mead
Bloodlines Series by Rachelle Mead
The Werewolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater

I haven't heard of the Mortal Instruments series.
I started reading the Vampire Academy series and only got to I think the second book as that's the last one my school library had.
I've heard of the Bloodlines series, but never got around to reading it.
And isn't Maggie Stiefvater the same one who wrote that book Shiver?

Yes Shiver is the first part of the Werewolves of Mercy falls Series.. such a good book!

Scamp

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. (although i'm not finished with the series myself, so i'm not sure if ALL the books are as fantastic as the first 6, which i've read already. e.e)
The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss
Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow
Skin Hunger & Sacred Scars by Kathleen Duey
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
The Bloody Jack Series by L.A. Meyer

That's all I can think of right now. c':

You mentioned fantasy so I'd like to recommend the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. I gotta warn you though. It's heavy reading.

I think I actually prefer heavy reading over light reading most of the time, it keeps me more preoccupied seen as how a shorter book usually only lasts me a day or so.
