So who has read all four books?

Forced myself to read the first one, skimmed the rest.

If you want to keep your sanity, in my personal opinion, don't fully read the rest. It's just mostly Bella's bitching, depression and some minor .. VERY minor character development. But it's just more of saying how much of a moron Bella is.

Don't worry, I won't.

And what Kit said about logical fan. We don't want to hear from the 'OMG JACOB AND EDWARD ARE LYKE SO HAWT ZOMG BEST BOOKS EVAR" fans. We want the sane fans.

honestly i have no way to defend my part of the discussion because i didn't go all indepth into thought about the writer and the thought behind her choices of what the characters do, i simply just read the book, i just read sentence after sentence and didn't analyse it, to me it didn't give me time to think about other options, as soon as i read one line i was ready for the next in anticipation, well thats for the most part. books like Much Ado About Nothing (william shakespear, its very witty) are the ones i have to wreck my brains out because of their dialect but twilight just flowed for me, and i keep having my post deleted by "THE MAN" and its geting anoying

Personally I like Much Ado About Nothing. I think Twilight is just crammed with so much fluff that your brain begins to deteriorate from lack of thinking. It's not suspenseful enough to make it engaging.

Edit: It also lacks plot, character development, and romance/chemistry. I suppose it's good for a few laughs or discussions, or a mind number.

There's nothing wrong with just reading a book, and not really thinking too deeply about it. That's how I read, and that's how the book Twilight was intended to be read. It's just after I'm done reading then I take the time to think about it. Usually the more I think about a book the more I love it, but not so much with Twilight. It had potential though.

ok well that is your oppinion, clearly not a fact because i'm writing here today with a fully composed brain, after reading the twilight series twice, and Much Ado is very entertaining but it makes ME stop and think to much about what hes trying to say, ok was it benadic and betrice, they like each other and argue alot, well jacob and bella actually like each other but she like edward more and she has to struggle with those feelings, and betrice strugles with not wanting to admit she like benadik, twilight does have its twist and turns, maybe the people who dislike twilight just like more complexity behind the plots ok thats you, me i like to read books like i'm looking at an artists canvas or medium whatever, i examine it ALL then decide if i really like the way it captures my attention, i don't try to see what is behind it because i'll never really know what it was ment to inturpet until i talk to the artist themself, just like i'm not goin to insinuate that myers thought guys should rule women

Like Creative said, Twilight had raw potential that could've been brought out but didn't. It had a good foundation for a plot to develop. A cast of characters that were ready to be developed and grown up. And a budding romance to come to fruition. But that never happened because Meyer was too lazy to develop things and only focused on Bella and Edward's relationship and not on anything else.

There's nothing wrong with just reading a book, and not really thinking too deeply about it. That's how I read, and that's how the book Twilight was intended to be read. lol yes, and its nice to see that some poeple actually think about what the other people post, every time i post somthing somewhere people just go for the weak spot of the post and attack, well twilight is captevating to some and ok to others, and detested by others, i would stay and talk actual indepth stuff but its 2:04 and i'm dead beat and set for a long day tomorow, it was nice discussing with yall and with that i bid you fairwell

Most definitely. I had thought that Twilight was going to be an interesting read when my friend first told me about it (way before the movie people), but when I tried getting through some of it, I nearly cried. I did think the plot was good. It's mostly the characters that bother me.

@Canis: I don't read very much in depth in the first time round, but Meyer's writing style was very hard for me to deal with, and she wouldn't stop describing the same things over and over again.
