What's with the new sticky?
Anyway, I enjoy Twilight because I love how it's a love story. Granted, I've only read the first book and I've seen the movie, but I love how Bella falls in love with Edward immediately. It was an easy read, and it was enjoyable to see that (considering how many people blurt Breaking Dawn spoilers) that the guy gets the girl and they live happily ever after. It's like a fairytale. And, while I originally disliked how it went against the conventional vampire lore, I found it to give the book and movie a bit of "spark".
I agree that Mrs. Meyer can't really write all that well, but I was able to look beyond that and enjoy the story being told.
The fact that they fell in love almost instantly is one of the things I really didn't like about the story. I just don't by into that whole love and first sight thing. I find it much more interesting to let the relationship develop over time and learn
why they are in love in the process.
And as for the writing style, I was never one to let that kind of thing bug me either, but yeah it wasn't all the great either, but the story being told and the characters just didn't click with me. I say it had a ton of potential, but it's a shame it didn't make good use of it.
