I read all 4 books...
I don't think Stephanie Myer is that great of an author, but its the topic she writes about that intrigues people! I think she kinda dimmed down the vampire reputation....but i cant stop to set down her books.....
I also think she needs to come up with better names for her characters...

But man, ET is making a huge fuss about the movie adaption of New Moon. I'm just reading for all of the Twilight movies to end so I don't have to hear fans spazzing about them.

I don't think it's so much it inrtigues people but she manages to tap into the basic requirements of her target audience. Simple characters, romance and a touch of the supernatural to give it that extra appeal. It doesn't surprise me too much that it was lapped up. It's simplicity gets people in but it's also it's simplicity that makes it such a bad book. Amongst other things.
