The Vampire Diaries are the closest books I know to Twilight. They are well written and really, really interesting.

Bloodline (by Kate Cary) is an interesting spinoff of Dracula. There is romance and historical-ness.

Anne Rice, obviously. Just read her; she's amazing.

I hear Blue Bloods and Masquerade are good vampire books, but I've never read them.

Marked, Chosen and Betrayed (a trilogy) are also good.

Mademoiselle Christina, by Mircea Eliade. It's good 'n' obscure 'n' vampirish.
Dracula, by Bram Stoker. Because.
The Feast of Blood, by James Malcolm Rymer. Any vampire with the name "Varney" gets points. I'm not sure what kind of points, but they do.
