And bringing my gameboy color to school to play during recess.

Ah, pogs, Tamagochis, Furbies (how I had to beg for one), Pokemon, Beanie Babies, and Gogos.

My favorite shows were Road Rovers, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Sailor Moon, and Captain Planet. And I remember watching the VHSs for the old Ninja Turtles animated series and the pilot of Street Sharks.

Oh man, Wonderballs! eek Those were like a dream come true, you got a BALL OF CHOCOLATE with a TOY inside! I got two at a party, I was in heaven! heart

Yep! It was done on purpose. One of the versions (the original comic I think) explained that the rat sensei Splinter found an old book on the Italian Renaissance in the sewers and used it to name them.
