Nature has a will all it's own...

Sage watched as Roland tried to see what was there, and the dragon's own expression was unreadable as he evaluated Roland's response. He listened as Roland mentioned how it seemed only children and a select few could still see the energy as it played throughout the orb. Sage looked to the Anklar, seeing it's power pulsing and arcing throughout, and looked back to Roland.

"I understand what you mean Roland. Some can, some can't. Not seeing what is there means little in the long run. Don't let it get to you. Melucine and I shall work on returning you to your homes. In the meantime I offer you the hospitality of my home." he said. He figured if nothing else, it would keep anything from happening among either party, and if they felt like going for a walk or something, they wouldn't have to swim for it.

((Blah))

Aeolus furrowed her eyebrows, the whole situation seemed kind of frustrating. There had to be some reason that Roland was unable to see the electricity. He was enthused enough to believe, yet still, he couldn't. It was starting to piss her off. Though more annoying was that it bothered her so much. She had known Roland for a total of a couple hours (or had it been more? She could no longer tell), and yet, she felt real emotions due to him.

She had absolutely no way of explaining it.

Roland then explained to Sage and Melusine what he had earlier to her. Her frown deepened severely, and she began to get aggitated. "You're still young idiot! Who said that eighteen is old? You're not just young at heart, you're young everywhere." She made a gesture to refer to his entire body. Unknowingly, she had stood with great gusto when she said these words, and now felt like her platform could collapse any second. She retreated to her chair, plopping down and making her curls bounce yet again, glaring at her feet.

She looked back up again, however,at Sage's words. They were trying to get them home? Already? They had just gotten there. Not to say that Aeolus didn't want to get home to her mother and explain this crazy situation, but she had the nagging feeling that they had something else to do there, in the dragon world.

Melusine began to ponder Roland's words, his actions, and his expressions. She soon found herself pondering Sage's words... She looked to him, "Only certain ones can see it?" Melusine tilted her head, "I have not met one dragon who could not see the Anklar's electricity..." and now she found herself pondering why Roland couldn't see the electricity...

Were humans that much different than the dragons?

Melusine could understand Roland's pain. Everyone else in the room could see the Anklar's electricity except for him... She thought of the sky, and how she wanted to see it. Being a Sea-Serpent, Melusine never had the chance to feel the clouds on her rubbery scales.... Quickly, she dismissed those thoughts and returned to the subject at hand.

Melusine's thoughts swam faster than she did when she was on the hunt. This was all so terribly confusing... And troubling. Melusine would have to report to the elders with the news that humans basically came out of the Anklar from their home world. But first of all, she would have to take the humans to the elders, or else they would mark her as a loon.

"What?" she said to Sage, "Why send them back so soon?" Melusine really wanted them to stay for a while longer, and not just because she wanted to prove their existence. "Why not let them stay longer? Not only could we study them, but they could study us. Maybe they could re-ignite the belief in dragons when they do go back home."

»Roland heaved a sigh. Everyone seemed to be concerned for his incapability to see the electricity... By now he was avoiding looking at the stone completely, not wanting to get any more angry than he already was before...

Aeolus said that he was young... A bit weird, but... He was young. Young at heart? Hard to tell. He stared at her, barely holding back a simple smile, "Yeah, well... I still don't know why I can't see it..."

Sage made the statement that he wanted to send them back. He looked up and shot the black dragon a sharp look, "Hey! We just got here!" his Brooklyn accent was much more aparent as he said this, "What are you talkin' about, sendin' us back?!"

Roland couldn't put his finger on it, but... He felt that if he went back home, he would never find out the reason why he couldn't see the electricity. He had to stay here... In this world... In order to find out. Besides... He actually really wanted to adventure this place. Even if he couldn't tell anyone about it without being called crazy, he wanted to learn as much about it as he could.

At the various vehement replies to his offer to send them home he pulled his head back like he had been stuck in the nose with a spear. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply I was forcing anyone to go anywhere, and you assume that this is an easy task. I assure you it is not, and since I will not be able to run many of my tests on the Anklar I cannot even guarantee I can actually send you home. There is so little known of the magics involved in this that I can't even give you an estimate for how long this will take. You are still welcome to stay where you wish however.

Aeolus felt relief wash over upon the sight of Roland holding back a slight smile. She let a smile of her own grace her lips. I seemed that she was not the only one who didn't want to go, because to her surprise, Roland disagreed with Sage as well. Her guess would be that he wanted to find out why he was unable to see the lights in the Anklar. To be honest, she was curious herself. It didn't seem that Roland was that disbelieving. Melusine backed them up as well.

But in truth, Aeolus was not sure why she wanted to stay either. What did she have to gain from staying longer in the Dragon world? Maybe she just wanted to bask in the reality of the dragons. Soak in the truths from her fantasy novels. She had been right all along in her belief of fantasy. She felt kind of smug at the thought, but Melusine's words reminded her of the reality.

First of all, study them? Like some kind of lab experiment? Aeolus wasn't too keen on the idea. More importantly, did she say re-ignite the belief? Aeolus actually chuckled bitterly, before addressing the majestic sea-dragon. "Trust me on this," She began, still with a sad smile on her face."There is no way we, two kids, could convince anyone in our world that Dragon's exist. We'd be labeled as crazy and taken to the psyche ward. It wouldn't be pretty."

Melusine sighed when Aeolus scoffed at her hopeful blunder. "I can tell that the humans are more obstinate than the history books tell." With a shake of her head, Melusine looked to each of the individuals in the room.

"Well, no point saying here." Melusine said with a large grin, "Let's head to the surface." she started off, "Sage, could i ask you to take them up with you? I don't have a way to help them up... And I don't think using my venom would work on their human bodies..."

Melusine had used her venom to allow other dragons to her castle on multiple occasions, and they turned out just fine when she removed the venom. However, the humans were quite different from dragons, and the venom could suffocate them faster due to their small stature.

"I would be more than happy to Melusine. They're much smaller than us, so I have a feeling the venom would be much more harmful much faster than it would on any of us. Though it might be wise of them to think of something they may or may not wish to eat when we arrive." he commented.

He stood, and with a motion called their platforms over to him. He swirled his hands around both platforms, and a clear shell formed around them, connecting to the existing platform. A small green ball also appeared on the back of each chair, and the interior soon became filled with the pleasant smell of fresh air.

Wasting no more time, he guided the two orbs to the exit, and with a trio of splashes, he followed them into the water, and back toward shore.

((badbadbadbadbad.))

Melusine seemed disappointed, yet expecting to Aeolus's answer. It seemed that the dragons knew certain things about the human's through reading. She gathered that they had a vast amount of knowledge in volumes and volumes of books. They were most likely infinitely more learned than humans. It was to be expected, since Dragons were traditionally very wise creatures. She wondered if they were like owls in that sense. But wait, weren't owls stupid in actuality? She shook her head fiercely to get back on topic, swinging her curls.

Melusine mentioned going to the surface. Oh yeah, they were in some underwater castle. She was intrigued until the mention of the word venom. She paled a bit, especially since this venom seemed to be lethal to humans. Before she had a chance to gulp in fear, her platform suddenly glided forward, towards Sage. The black dragon did some kind of motion with his hands. A shell of sorts appeared around her platform, encasing her. The same thing was likely happening to Roland. The scent of fresh air filled the bubble, and before she knew it she was plunging into water. Her eyes widened immediately. Underwater. In a bubble.

Melusine watched Sage lead the two humans to the entrance without even waiting for her. She blinked, shook her head, and started after them, "Wait up! You'll get lost in my castle if you aren't too careful!" she said in a jest.

Melusine was the last to dive into the drink. Her flowing movements took her to the front of the lines as she lead them through the undersea cavern, which slowly ended to open sea. Rays of sun even hit the mouth of the cave, a very seldom occurrence for how deep they were underwater.

The Sea-serpent lead them through the waters, her blue-green eyes scanning for food--yes, she was terribly hungry, and wanted something--anything-- to eat. Something caught her eye, and with the speed of a viper, she clenched a rather large fish in her maw. It was hard to tell what it was, for she gobbled it down rather quick.

Melusine's head soon broke the surface, and she awaited her company to join her, "So, where do we go from here?" she asked.

"Well, we can either head for my cave and find a proper meal, or we can head somewhere inland along one of the rivers. What do you two think?" he said as he surfaced along with the two humans. The spheres they were riding in seemed to fade away, except for the floor, but he kept a shield up, just in case one of the larger predatory birds decided that they looked appetizing.

Melusine soon followed as they all plunged into the water. Given that she was a sea serpent, she sped ahead of them and was soon leading the way. Aeolus stared in wonder at the water around her. She was really under water! This was becoming more surreal every second. A few hours ago she was rollerblading to the history museum, and now she was swimming with the fishes. Literally! She pressed her hands and face up against the edge of her bubble.

She turned back to face forward and was shocked to see Melusine grab a snack at an insane speed. And swallow the poor thing whole, raw, and wriggling. She held back a gasp and put her hand on her chest to still her heart a bit. Shocking and uncut much? There wasn't anything about Puff the magic dragon eating raw fish. The blue dragon was ahead of them and surfaced before them. She heard her ask what they should do as her, Roland, and Sage surfaced. Her bubble began to slowly disappear as Sage offered some ideas. A proper meal, oh how that sounded good. Her stomach growled loudly as it had done earlier. Her hands flew down to it and she gasped, blushing a bit.

"Food would be good.." She offered, grinning sheepishly. "But I'm not eating any live fish!"

»Roland merely held onto the edges of his seat as it began to move. A barrier came over him, soon before it fell into the water. He watched the cave walls move about him, the long tunnel lined with mysterious crystals.

When the cave faded into open water, Roland lost his breath. It was absolutely stunning. Even better than what they recorded for the show Planet Earth. Or maybe it could be that this was a completely different world... And everything in it was much more... Interesting, much more breathtaking.

When Melusine gobbled down a live fish, it didn't affect Roland too much. Yes, it was disturbing that she would do that to an innocent fish, but she did have to eat. At this point, Roland was willing to do about the same thing. When the surfaced, Roland nodded, his hair flying everywhere.

"Right now I'll eat just about anything!!"

Sage chuckled a bit at the two humans reply and looked back to Melusine. "Well it looks like lunch is in order, but now we just have to decide what to eat, and where to eat it." he said. He dove back down for a moment, and using his upward speed, broke out of the water and took to the air.

Melusine watched Sage leap into the air... She rose her fins, wising that they could act as wings in the air, just as they did underwater... But, there was just too much of a gap between the sea and the air... Melusine quickly recomposed herself, and shook her head.

"What types of food do you humans often eat?" she questioned. She wasn't entirely sure if the dietary habits of the humans had changed at all. She knew that type of thing often happned, particularly with sea-serpents and dragons... With the changes of the water, your meals were never the same.

Melusine began to think of things that the humans could eat. Maybe some of the cattle floating about. Fish? If they needed fish, Melusine could easily come up with enough fish to last them for days. But, she doubted they would stay for... Days. It would be nice, but they would have to return home. She also thought of various fruits, and Melusine soon wondered if there were any differences in plants between the two worlds. So many questions!
