Aeolus felt like gloating, able to rile him up so far that he had let his accent slip. She often found that people hid their accent unless emotionally fired up. She was a bit surprised to see such a together man spewing out a brooklyn accent. It was rather funny to hear the r's disappear from his speech, such a seemingly eloquent man. She almost laughed, but decided the timing was inappropriate. He replaced the case and re-clipped the velvet rope in front of her, effectively barring her from the Anklar.

She frowned at him when he referred to her as Pollyanna again. He threatened to get security on her, still in his accent (which made it just the slightest bit hilarious). He leaned in and asked what she saw in the Anklar. She scrunched up her nose and leaned away. "Okay, one - personal space, creeper." She stepped backwards and adjusted herself slightly. "Two, I don't even know myself, okay?" She glared at him, turning to look at the Anklar with something unidentified in her eyes. "It's not like I have a choice in the matter." Her voice grew smaller as she spoke of the orb. She snapped back to reality. "Third, you're from brooklyn?" She was incredulous with her last statement, cracking a bemused grin. She slipped back under the velvet rope, removed the casing and picked up the Anklar yet again, sticking her tongue out at him as she did.

Nature has a will all it's own...

Sage had just finished packing the wound he had received from the lightning bolt when he finally realized why he it hurt to stand on his hind legs. He looked back, and spotted several of his vertebrae shifted off to one side. With a groan, he stretched his back out slowly. He growled in pain, and then with a series of pops, his spine straightened, and he groaned in relief. He finally managed to get the tome he was after down, and headed outside to finish it so he could be back to normal. He exited his cave, and looked toward the sea wistfully. He knew that the sea serpent had the Anklar, but from his initial impression, he wasn't ever going to get to examine it.

He was turning his gaze back toward the waterfall pool when he spotted a finned head poking up out of the surf. He used a wing to wave in her general direction, then gestured with a forepaw that she should come to the falls. He knew the river was deep enough for her to pass unhindered.

Eventually, you learn how to make it work for you.
Roland rose his hands and backed off when the girl had called him a creeper. "Okay, sorry. I just didn't want anyone else to hear our little conversation." his brow furrowed when she answered his question, however... She didn't even know what it was. Roland's frown grew thicker right then.

However, Roland twitched a bit when the girl bluntly asked if he was from Brooklyn. It just dawned on him then that his cover accent had slipped, and he was reverted to talking just as he would at home. Letting out a groan he said, "Yeah. But do you think that I would talk like this to people in other states? As if they would take me seriously--

"-Like you are right now!" Roland said sarcastically. He reached over the ropes to take hold of the Anklar, but he didn't yet remove it from her grasp, "You just don't quit, do you?" his brown eyes stared darkly into hers, "I was about to let you go, but... I don't think that'll happen, now."

As she approached the waterfall, Melusine managed to catch the attention of a dragon outside of a cave, hidden behind the waterfall. A smile spread across her elegant lips, for she liked the idea of a home.

Upon being beckoned to, Melusine decided to approach the dragon... He was black, and seemed very much like the dragon who invaded her mind... Well, that was no matter. He was, after all, just trying to be of assistance.

Melusine moved along the river, and into the pool of water just around the waterfall. It wasn't as deep as what Melusine was used to, but it was fair enough. She looked up the waterfall, and smiled, "Hello there, dragon!"

((.... Yeah, writer's block. I'm not exactly sure on Sage's position, either. ))

The man backed away upon her mention of the word 'creeper'. She smiled inwardly, knowing that it worked every time. She was the perfect age for anyone to be attempting to take advantage of her. She didn't see anything wrong with taking advantage of that. It seemed she had disappointed him with her knowledge of the Anklar. Neither of them had much of an idea what the thing was, nor why Aeolus had such a desire to hold it all the time. Everything pointed to the same concept, that this stone was a thing of fantasy.

The man obviously didn't like to use his accent. Just like her, who in the world would take him seriously? No one would accept him for this job if they knew he was from Brooklyn. People from Brooklyn were no-good, filthy. Dangerous. Of course that wasn't true, but it was widely believed. She let a giggle slip when he accused her of not taking him seriously. Yeah, it was true. He leaned in and put his hands on the Anklar as well, threatening to report her. She never thought brown eyes could be so piercing. She felt a slight pang of fear - would he really report her? She never wanted to steal the Anklar, just.. well, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do.

Just as she thought this, she felt the same butterflies, though it seemed to have more intensity this time around. She looked down, and the electricity within the Anklar began to pulse faster, and soon the entire orb was lit. "Wha.." She muttered, staring down at the Anklar with wonder. She never finished her pending question, as she was blinded by light eminating from the orb. "What in the world-" she cried, leaning away from the light but still holding the stone.

Roland could see the fear in the girl's eyes. Good, he had her intimidated. "Now then. Let go of the Anklar, an--"

Roland was suddenly cut short by a sudden glowing of the stone. His eyes were torn from the girl, and were now planted on the Anklar. He didn't see the electricity... But he did see it glow. Never had he ever seen the stone glow in such a manner. It wasn't the lights... What could it have been?

Roland's heart raced as he stared into the Anklar. He wanted so much to let go, but... He couldn't. He wouldn't. It felt as though the stone was drawing him somewhere, as if it was taking him to another world, or something of the like. "I have no idea..." Roland replied to Aeolus' vacant question, as if he was once again answering questions.

He felt his feet lift from the ground. It was almost as if the Anklar was drawing him into it's round surface... Lights of many colors suddenly surrounded him, and everything came to an abrupt halt, and Roland found himself face-first on a cold, damp stone.

((Are they in Melusine's cave? Yes?))

Aeolus had the vague inkling of the man responding, but everything else seemed to disappear as she stared into the blinding light. Her head was spinning, her heart thrumming at an insane pace. Everything seemed to be lost in the light, and she felt her feet leave the ground. Colors were everywhere, and she felt drawn into the orb. Something like wind swirled around her, and then it stopped.

Everything stopped. She felt something under her, and it suddenly occurred to her that it was a person. She climbed off said person and landed on cold, wet rock. It was the man from the museum. She observed him with curiosity, he lay face down on the stone. The wetness from the rock seeped through her shorts, why was it wet? Why was she even on rock? Where in the world was she? She raised her head and viewed the area around her, eyes widening as she did so.

She was soooo not in the museum anymore. And she no longer held the Anklar in her hands.

Nature has a will all it's own...

((Her undersea castle at least, I don't know if cave does it justice XP Oh and Sage was just on a ledge that travels around the falls cliff to the ground. He made sure he could get in even if he couldn't fly))
Sage limped down the ledge to the edge of the waterfall pool as the sea serpent arrived in front of his home. He sat down carefully and opened his tome as she greeted him.

"Greetings Melusine. I am glad to see you are well. Give me a moment and we can share proper introductions." he said vaguely, meeting her gaze only long enough to greet her. He used a talon to flip through the book carefully, until he found the spell he was after. He knew it well, but it had been awhile since he had needed it. He drew on his magic, and recited the spell. Within moments a green pulsing energy surrounded the deep burn on his chest, and he had to suppress a groan of relief. The pain faded instantly, but it itched something horrible for a few moments. He looked at his chest again, and the wound was completely gone. He flexed his arm and wing, finding nothing wrong with either one. The glow also settled into his back for an instant, and he felt the last of the tension leave his muscles.

"Ah, much better. It seems whomever was manipulating that storm didn't take kindly to me diverting it, so they left me with a warning. My name is Sage by the way, and it is a pleasure to finally meet you. What brings......" Sage's voice died away and his eyes went vacant for a moment as he looked directly at where the sea serpents home was located. "Something happened in your home. Something to do with the Anklar, we must hurry! he said. A harshly spoken word caused the book to vanish, and two more made the opening to his cave melt away. He didn't wait for her to ask what, he took to the air and with powerful beats of his wings, made for her castle. Once he got there, he would worry about breathing under water.

Eventually, you learn how to make it work for you.

Melusine smiled, but her smile vanished once he was finished with introductions. She let a small sigh slip through her nose as she arched her neck in an agitated way. Her blue-green eyes watched him...

The sea dragon heaved a sigh. This dragon was one who constantly relied on magic to get by. Melusine was never too fond of such dragons... And she could only think of one that she didn't mind of doing so... She couldn't recall his name, but... He was a nice maroon color, with blue wings and an orange belly. A very friendly dragon... However, he was only a visiting dragon. She hadn't seen him for years. She couldn't help but wonder if he had gotten his memory back.

Melusine's ears perked when the dragon had mentioned the Anklar. For but a second fear coursed through her rubbery scales, but the fear soon faded, even while she chased after the panic-ridden black dragon. Soon, that fear was replaced with anger. How in the world did he know of the Anlkar, let alone that it was in danger?!

Letting out a roar, which, reader, didn't sound like a roar in the air, Melusine lunged at the black dragon. She hoped to wrap her neck around him in order to bring him down into the rushing river water. She didn't want to drown him... She just wanted to talk with him.

»Roland suddenly felt something on his back, but whatever it was quickly got up. He let out of moan of pain, and finally looked up. "Ugh... My nose..." he stated whilst rubbing it. He was sure it was going to be crooked, if it wasn't already so.

Sitting up, Roland took a moment to size his surroundings. His already perplexed expression grew all the more perplexed as he tried to figure out where in the world he was. It wouldn't have to take a genius to realize that they weren't in the museum any more--or in New York for that matter.

Roland began to rub his head, "Oh.... That's the last time I go without eating breakfast..." he stood up, "Missing my lunch break must've made me pass out from hunger, or something..." he looked up to the ceiling, and let out a long, agonizing groan, "Would you look at that..."

He shook his head, and started to walk off, "Yeah... I must've passed out or something. I should start using that alarm clock mom gave me so I can actually eat breakfast..." his parents figured he was old enough to wake up by himself by now.

Roland looked over his shoulder, "Oh, and Pollyanna is in my fatigue dream, too. Great. Undersea castle... Crazy thing with the Anklar..."

Sage was far from panicking, in fact, he was deadly calm. He heard the sea serpent screech, and felt her body wrap around his own and try to drag him down. He may have been scholarly, but he was still a dragon that cared for his physical well being, so he was quite strong. He didn't miss a beat and simply grabbed her and kept going. "Well if you'd wanted a ride, all you had to do was ask you know." he said, perfectly serious.

He continued to carry her until they reached the deeper part off the waters offshore, then with a few muttered words, he folded his wings slightly and gently landed in the cool ocean waters. He wasted no time in diving below the surface and waiting for her. His little travel trick had saved them a bit of time.

"Now that we're more on your terms, you have questions I'm sure, I would prefer if you could ask them on the way though." he said. He turned and started swimming again. For him it was rather fast, for Melusine, it would be simple to keep up, or even leave him behind.

Melusine was quite surprised that she had missed the dragon's wings... She was aiming to coil around them in order to bring him down... Looks like she needed a bit more practice. And after he stated that she must have wanted a ride...! That irked her so.

Once they landed in the water, she uncoiled herself. Melusine allowed for a pause, before she moved quicker than a viper, and towered over the black dragon with utmost ease. "Young dragons!" she shouted, "So headstrong! Each and every one of them think themselves higher than everyone else!" her shout slowly turned into a menacing hiss.

"Listen to me very closely: you are not to know what goes on in my castle." she seemed to grow taller, "I do not care how much power you have, but I can poison you, and kill you before you can even think of a spell to cast upon yourself!" her Russian-sounding voice carried along the waves. "Keep your business within your little waterfall cave! I am more than capable of handling whatever makes it's way into my palace!"

Melusine made her way past Sage, "You are never welcome to my palace. If you know that I have the Anklar, I can tell you are apt for stealing it!" She let out a roar much like before, which sounded much worse than a Banshee getting her wings plucked out, "And don't you dare try to tell me otherwise!"

Melusine dove into the water, but soon came back up, "And no matter how you get into my palace, the Krakken will know." and with that, she left him.

((Wow. I'm much more tired than I thought... XP Edited. ))

Sage's anger flared at Melusine's comments. Him? A lowly thief skulking about only to take what wasn't his!? That was the last straw. He had only been concerned because he did not want the stone falling to those who would abuse it. He was slow to anger, but this one had managed it in record time. He watched for only an instant as she swam off, then he followed with a deafening roar and a series of harsh words. He shot forward in the water, and most of his body was layered in ice, making him move more easily. He passed her, and turned to face her, wings flared.

"You call me the thief!? If you have the Anklar you should know of me then! I have studied it for as long as I have existed, which is far longer than you give me credit for! I have no desire to possess a relic such as that! I try to help and all you do is insult me!! Take your guard serpent, I do not intend to back down from one as stuck up as you!! he snarled.

He was far from afraid of her, or her pet. He had diverted someone's attempt to attack her home, and his thanks was being slapped in the face. He didn't intend to let this slide.

Eventually, you learn how to make it work for you.

((Oof... >.< I have to re-write my post... I got off for too long and Gaia logged me off... I forgot to copy the post... Yeah... XP ))

Waves struck Melusine's neck, but despite the icy cold, it didn't even begin to phase her. The Sea-Serpent merely stared up to the Black dragon, the slits of her eyes shrinking. Her fins fell back, like a cat's ears would. "Well then," she said in a flat voice, "You call me stuck-up, and I shall call you rude, and idiotic!"

Melusine scoffed, "Yes, I did indeed just call you idiotic. I have to say, that you could have definitely chosen a different way to introduce yourself." she smiled a grim smile, "Back in my day, even if one knew the other dragon's name, they would allow them to say their name, instead of introducing themselves bluntly as an obnoxious, uncurtious telepath... Much like you did."

The Sea-serpent rose slightly out of the water to meet the other dragon's eyes. "Also, the telepaths from my time would keep to themselves and only enter someone's mind if it were urgent, or if they had permission. Otherwise, it would be considered rather rude. You left me having to assume that you were the one who had entered my mind with an unneeded warning of a storm." her voice grew dark, "I appreciate the help, but I am a sea dragon. I'm sure you know of our ability to sense pressure changes with ease."

"Now, as for your knowledge of the Anklar. I know you discovered that I had the stone since you read my mind. The elders had not yet disclosed such information yet, and it would be impossible for you to know otherwise, despite your vast knowledge of the Anklar.

"Now, as I had previously stated, you could have chosen a completely different way to introduce yourself. Next time, I should say you should allow the other dragon to say their own name, and then you say your own... You had not mentioned your name at all. That is incredibly rude. Also, if you had not mentioned the Anklar at all, and if you had let it be, I would have allowed you into my palace. I would have even provided a way for you to enter!"

She looked away, but continued to hold her guard, "But, the way you reacted, it almost sounded as if you thought I had let the Anklar to go unprotected! Do you think of me as a fool, then?! Well, I am not that fool. No, no!"

Melusine held her ground. At this point, she could care less if the black dragon attacked or not. She could take him, that was for sure. Even if he had magic, this was her home ground. She had a high advantage over him.

((Ugh that happens to me all the time. It's the most frustrating thing))

Aeolus whipped her head around as she heard movement, forgetting she had landed on the museum guy. He said something about his nose and he seemed to be rubbing it. Well, he had landed on his face. He looked just as confused as she had, staring around at their surroundings. She had no idea where they were either, but something (and by something, she meant the seat of her shorts being soaked) told her that they were near, or under water.

The young man stood where Aeolus still sat, her legs spread in a straddle. She watched him as he looked up at the ceiling. He mentioned something about breakfast and passing out. She scoffed. He thought this was a dream? She had no idea what kind of dreams this guy had, but her dreams were never this clear. She never felt the wetness, even if she sat in a puddle of water. She pushed herself up, and was surprised to see him looking at her as he rose. He still thought it was a dream. And he still called her Pollyanna. She frowned.

"Hey, mister, I don't know what you're talking about, but this 'aint no fatigue dream." She planted her hands on her hips and strode over to him, looking him straight in the face. "This right here," she poked him in the ribs to prove her point. "Is straight-up reality, okay?" It's not that she could explain where they were or why, but it definitely wasn't a dream.

"I don't know why we're in an undersea castle, but it only proves my point. That thing, that orb... it's magic." She grinned smugly, totally confident in her theory. "Oh, and don't call me Pollyanna."
