((Oh my god.. oh my god, I'm so sorry. D: You should take as much time as you possible need ))

As she calmed down, Aeolus began to examine the cave. They were behind the waterfall, and she had to say, as distracting as it was, it had a majestic beauty to it. She smiled, and although she didn't think the concept of living in cave would be all that good, she wouldn't mind so much living here. Or maybe in Melusine's castle. Either way, the dragons seemed to have things better than the humans. At least, if you were a nature lover.

She noted that sage was obviously injured, as he was preparing something that looked like medicine. Melusine offered to help using some kind of dragon thing. She still didn't quite understand that. She approached the two dragons quietly, cocking her head to the side slightly. Maybe she had missed it, but she was curious. "um, sage.. how did you get that injury?" Gesturing to the wound. He looked like he was otherwise injured as well. It seemed that the dragon was either a klutz, or a beast of danger. She smirked inwardly at that thought, since he was seemingly such a gentleman like dragon.

"I'm afraid our meal's friend decided that I had to earn my kill. Aurochs are huge, and sometimes aggressive when threatened. The one we will be eating never knew what hit him. The other one charged me while I was trying to get my teeth back out of it's neck. It will live to see another day, as will I. We however have more preparations to make, seeing as how I have never made a meal like this before. I'm more used to steaks and such." he replied as he applied the bandages.

»((Aaaah, goodness! I'm sorry! I was gonna post, I swear... I just got uninspired, and... I felt bad for kinda pestering Gravity... And... Yeah... Gah... ))

Roland, having noticed Sage's difficulty, realized that no one else was going to help him out... Well, Meusine couldn't, considering she lacked the hands to do so... So, he slid off of his chair, and rushed over to help bandage Sage's wound.

"Hey, I could help out with making the stuff. We wound up staying in one city for a while when we were traveling with the Anklar--I had to work in a MacDonald's for a while to earn a little extra cash for food." Examining the bandage, he said, "There. You should be good... Just don't do any weird movements."

Roland began to rub his hands, as if he had gotten some blood on them... Just a little bit. He rinsed his hands as quickly as he could in the mist of the falls... He made sure he didn't wipe his hands on his suit-oh, goodness would his father kill him if his suit got ruined...

Well, that really wasn't-and it shouldn't have been-his current concern.

Aeolus' attention was drawn as Roland slid off his chair to go help Sage bandage his wound. She frowned a bit, could this show off do everything? Well, guessing from what she had seen, probably. She sighed, feeling quite useless, until Roland commented on working at MacDonalds. She almost laughed, but bit her lip to hold it is. How amusing was that?

She hopped off of her chair too, using the platform as a stair of sorts to gracefully land on the cave floor. "You worked at Micky D's?" She asked, a hint of her disbelief showing in her voice. A smirk also graced her lips while she glanced sidelong at the young man. She was approaching the two dragons and the freshly killed meat. "I guess that means the museum doesn't pay all that much?" She thought this was kind of curious, since a presenter at a museum didn't seem like a minimum wage job.

It suddenly occurred to her that she was wearing her sneakers. And that led to the thought that, indeed, her roller blades were in her bag.

In the museum. Where she was not. The thought hit her like a bolt of lightning. She suddenly grabbed her head and groaned. "Shoot!" Her mother was most definitely going to kill her if that bag was stolen. Not only did it have her student id, debit card, and a whole lot of cash, but those roller blades were NOT cheap.

»"Yeah, yeah..." Roland huffed, "That particular museum was weird, and everything was chaotic during that month... I don't don't really want to talk about it." he shook his head and strode over to Aeolus.

"Besides. It doesn't hurt to earn a little extra money, now does it?" Roland said with a joking smirk. He began to look about the cave after he gave Aeolus a light chuckle. He examined moss, shelves of whatever stuff dragons had, books and all that like. He was growing particularily curious about one patch of moss that was rapidly growing...

When his attention was turned to Aeolus, who had let out a very stressed, "Shoot!" Roland blinked and furrowed his brow, "Yo, what's up?"

((When did you pester me again? I seem to have either not gotten it, or I never saw it. Either way, no harm, no foul right?))
Sage was immensely grateful for Roland's help with the bandage, and with a quick flex of his leg, made sure it would stay where it was supposed to. "Thank you for that Roland. Preparing food is something I do enjoy on occasion, but I'm afraid my unfamiliarity with the meal you have in mind will limit how helpful I can be. The rest of the cave will have everything you should need. Please follow me, we can get cleaned up and get started. Aeolus, are there any other foods you might want to accompany this particular dish?" he asked as he proceeded carefully deeper into the cavern.

Once they had passed the slightly narrower tunnel from the library, it opened into a rather large, well lit space that had been furnished with everything a cook might need. Even if it was several size too large for the humans.

((I have no excuse, as always. Anyway, let's not let it die?))

Aeolus sighed, letting her shoulders fall dejectedly. "I left my bag in the museum." She mumbled to an inquiring Roland, but not before noting the ever-present Brooklyn accent. "Of course, I wasn't expecting to be transported to some faraway land of dragons.." She resisted the urge to groan again and instead, shook her head furiously, attempting to clear her frustration. Although she may or may not have thwacked Roland with her pony-tail.

Sage began to lead them out of the current "room" they were in. It was just as they were leaving that she realized the immense amount of books in the room. 'This must be a library of sorts..' She though absent mindedly. The black dragon whom she had begun to think of as more sophisticated than she had earlier assumed then turned to her and asked about her choice in food. She blushed suddenly, feeling very high maintenance. It seemed like they were going to so much work to get her dish. "No, um.. no, I'm fine." She answered, holding her hands up in protest.

She looked to Roland, who was surprisingly more comfortable in this situation than she was. Maybe it was just because she was a bad house guest. "Anything you want?"

»Roland blinked, "Hey, don't sweat it, ya know?" he said casually, "The room's under high security. And when someone does go in there, they will probably put it in lost and found..."

Roland rubbed his cheek after the ends of Aeolus' hair flicked him... More or less whipped him... "And... The lost and found at museums doesn't display their finds like they do their pictures. They always make sure it's yours..." he had lost a few things at that museum, and he was quite grateful to find them there a few years later...

Anyway, Roland followed Sage into the kitchen... It was no understatement when it was said that the cooking supplies were several sizes too large for the humans. Roland looked up to what he figured was an oven--it stood a good few feet above him... And he couldn't imagine the heat that would come off of just the burner.

"Well, let me see... I'll need a knife, and some bread to start off... And the meat, too... Grounded preferably, but I think I can manage with a steak, or so..." he trailed off, trying to recall how to make a cheeseburger, "Yo, Aeolus, how do you like your cheeseburgers?"

((Sorry, lost all my post formats, it'll be plain for a while))

"So then you'll need this, this, some of this, this...." Sage replied as he began to retrieve some of the utensils from the kitchen. He set the knife near Roland, not expecting him to attempt to heft something that large, and went about getting everything he listed off for the burger.

Once the ingredients were in place, he took some meat and the knife, and began to slice it into strips, that done, into small chunks, and that done, he began chopping it into the smallest fragments he could manage. Despite his larger size, he managed to create a fairly good approximation of lean ground beef.

"Aeolus, getting you a side dish is no bother you know, it's the meat that's hard. Plants don't usually fight back after all." he commented as he handed Roland a pile of burger meat almost half his size. While the boy figured out what to do with that, he snapped his fingers, and the stove lit itself, preparing for the cooking portion of the meal.

((I suck, I know. Merry far-belated Christmas by the way! And if we don't post before then, happy 2010!))

Aeolus heaved her shoulders in a sigh. "I really hope you are right," she mumbled glumly in response to Roland's assurance. She didn't really want to die - after all she had gone through in this crazy place - just by her mom's wrath. She watched Sage bring out supplies for Roland to cook with. The girl eyed the humongous knife that the dragon brought out with a kind of smirk in her eyes. The silver blade had to be at least her size.

She snickered, not expecting Roland to attempt to handle the massive utensil. At least, without cutting his head off. That wouldn't do anyone much good. Sage seemed like a master of cooking. He diced the meat rather nicely, without much difficultly at all. The dark scaled dragon attempted to coax her into 'ordering' a side dish. She thought to herself, what did she normally eat with burgers. "Oh, duh." She said aloud, smacking her forhead for forgetting. "Well I was thinking French fries, if it's not too hard." She pondered her words, wrinkling her brow. "They're basically fried strips of potato." But then again, fries were only good with ketchup, right? Ah well, they'd do fine without.

There was a counter top next to her, which she would normally sit herself upon, but it stood the length of fifth grader above her. She settled with leaning against the polished door of a cabinet. She let her gray eyes wander to Melusine, who had been rather quiet. It was then she decided to just let what was happening soak in. She was in some parallel dimension. With two dragons and some museum worker from Brooklyn whom she had known for two hours. The beasts of legend concerned her more than Roland.

»Roland stared at the pile of meat for a while, then looked to the stove... "Well, first of all," he said, "I'mma need a chair, or a stool... Or somethin'." he held the slices of meat in his hands, smiling. It wasn't exactly ground beef, but he certainly could make due with this. He pondered for a moment, thinking of what else he would need.

"Lessie..." Roland strode to the stove, "Lettuce, Tomato, cheese... Pickles..." he looked to Aeolus and smiled, "Oh, and a couple potatoes. Yeah. Oh, and two frying pans, if it ain't too much of a hassle."

Roland awaited these things as he thought of ways to fry and cook the meat and fries... Shouldn't be too hard, should it? He also wondered if he would have to make anything for Melusine or Sage... He almost hoped that he wouldn't have to. They were very large dragons, after all.

Melusine watched the three from the doorframe of the kitchen. She was afraid that she wouldn't be too much of a help with this type of thing; she had no hands to grip anything with.

You see, Sea-Serpents often had servants who would help them prepare food. Since Melusine didn't require such fancy foods, she never had one. Unless you count the Krakken as one, then she did. But, he was a self-hired help.

But, she may as well try to do something. Melusine couldn't just sit around and watch, now could she? "Well, If you wish, I could go fetch a few vegetables. All I need is a bag, and I'll be back in... Well, two shakes of a lamb's tail. " she gave a light laugh, hoping that she didn't sound very silly.

((I suck in a way that cannot be conveyed with words. I am FAIL! ))
Sage listened intently as Roland listed off things they would need, and was rather awed at how much would be needed for what should be a simple meal. He didn't say anything about it, but he did think about what he had left in his stores. It was a short list, since he hadn't gone foraging in quite some time, so sending Melusine would be necessary.

"Well, I believe I have some cheese, and the pickles are covered, sadly, I'll be needing the lettuce and tomatos if we're going to pull this off. There is a sack hanging just inside the door to the pantry, it should be sufficient. Oh! Not that I think about it, I know where some can be found. About a three wingbeats downstream you'll find a small clearing just this side of the river. I think some of the vegetables I planted there will be ready."

Aeolus smiled in return to Roland's. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to stay here for a bit. At least - until they could find their way home. It would definitely have something to do with the Anklar, dancing with light as it had. Come to think of it, where had it gone? She began to stare into space, lost in thought about what exactly she had to do with that mystical orb. And then, she recalled how Roland had been unable to recognize the light in the orb. Was it one of those the-younger-you-are things? Like that high pitched frequency that only kids could hear. No, he seemed too close in age.

It was as these thoughts came to her when she heard Melusine speak. She wasn't expecting the sea dragon to speak up. The dragon offered to fetch vegetables. The teen noted Melusine's lack of... well, limbs. Perhaps she felt as useless as Aeolus did. The idea sparked something in her head. "Can I come?" She asked, hopeful. She wanted to be of some use - especially since Roland was able to do everything himself. "Unless I'd be more of a hassle." She added hesitantly, as an afterthought.

Malusine looked to Aeolus and gave a soft smile, "Why I would love if you came. It would be much easier on me, yes it would~" she chortled, and slithered her way towards the mouth of the cave.

"Alright, miss." she lowered her head to allow Aeolus to climb on, "I do ask you to hold on tight to my fin."

Once she was mounted, Melusine would lift her head and ask Sage, "All of your vegetables are right for the picking? I may take a few more in case I wanted to snack on a few leafy greens... Oh, yes-may I have a bag?" she looked about, being sure to not shake her head too violently, "Aeolus can pick the vegetables, but I can easily carry them back."

Melusine's eyes fell upon the bag. Embarassed, she reached for it and slung it over her neck. She blushed a little, feeling foolish for not noticing it-and rather deaf after realizing that Sage had mentioned it... "I... Beg your pardon," Melusine laughed.
