Elizabeth felt shaking and heard the sound of firmiliar screaming and shattering glass. When she finally opened her eyes she saw stars doting a pitch black sky moving in front of her. As she turnned her head she realized that she was in the arms of her older brother as he ran outside to the family shelter. "Bro..." she managed to whisper from her lips before going out again. After a minute or two she was shaken awake by her mother screaming her name. This time when she opened her eyes she was in the safe contents of the shelter and her mother was in front of her, looking desperatly scared. "Mom?" she asked quietly.

"Oh, sweet heart!" her mother exclaimed as she threw her arms around the girl. "I thought you were lost, the window next to you was shattered and I thought you had gotten hurt." she explained.

"I'm fine mom." Elizabeth replied, still not moving but instead letting herself be constricted by her mothers hug.

The small house shook once more, crackling with crushing ceilings and falling like rocks. Gravity, Phaletheia thought in her bold, dark sense of humor. A number of screams were padded in the ruins of the mansion, particularly the children, who were most definately screaming bloody murder. Still locked outside of the room, she found herself shrunk into a defensive ball, rolled gently by the door. Her fingers wove through the dark red ringlets of her scalp.

These were moments that lasted for a lifetime. They were carved into her head like a knife in skin. Phaletheia took a few deep, unsteady breaths to comprehend it. These were her new memories.
