The same colours that make up the Spectrum are the same colours that make up the story.

7 Babies, born the same day as a double rainbow shone in the sky. Something that happens once every 200 years. These children are a rare occurance, each bearing a special magical ability related to their colour. Each childs eye colour matches their magical ability and are one colour of the rainbow.

Each child was taken from their Earth families and to the kingdom of Arcus, where they were raised within palace walls under high security. The children were trained to use their abilities, but as the Colours, as they became known, were such a rarity, the training only reached so far. The colours have to and still need to learn how to use their abilities to the full on their own. A difficult challenge with only the ancient words of previous colours to guide them in the old journals. Each colour was given the journal of the colour who was previous to them. So the Blue eye would receive the Blue eye from before's journal and so-on. As years passed, training began to get less, meaning its time for the colours to look through their journals and learn their full potential.

But why and what is the purpose of the colours?

The Monochrome, a deadly and vile group of beings, occurs every 200 years to reek havock and bring the destruction of Arcus. The Monochromes, traditionally dressed in black and white, are unusual creatures. Some believe them to be demons....devils....creatures of the night. They have the ability to drain colours of their powers, and other victims of knowledge, skills and even strength. They are controlled by a ruler who seeks to drain the power of every colour and destroy Arcus as it is known. The monochrome are created just before the colours and grow in strength and intelligence every time. It is up to the colours, who are born as a result, and once they all become of age (16+), to defeat the Monochromes, but while training they will need protection.

This falls to the Spectri.

The Spectri are residents of Arcus, well trained residents, who have advanced skills in armed, unarmed and any other combat. Lacking magical ability, they are trained from a young age, sent out to wars to grow in mind, body and spirit, and if they are lucky, they are chosen to protect a colour during the time of the Monochromes. The Spectri assigned to a colour is traditionally the opposite gender, though sometimes exceptions are made. Their duty is to protect, and give their life for their colour if so be it.

Around the vast world are Cystals. These crystals contain memories of past colours, memories and tips to the current colours on how to defeat the monochrome, but to the monochrome, these crystals are a valuable power source. The more crystals either side reaches, the stronger that side becomes. With that in mind, the race is on. The crystals locations change every time, and only clues are given. The odds are even...the race is on....the colours are prepped.

Colours: These are the main characters pretty much. Born on the same day as a double rainbow, they have powers that match their colour, and their colour is their eye colour, which is a give away for most. Powers are listed below, and remember the colours are yet to discover the full extent of their powers, they are not experts.

Red: Fire
Orange: Earth - Rock
Yellow: Electricity/Lightning
Green:Earth - Plant
Blue: Water
Indigo:Ice
Violet:Wind/Air

Spectri: These are the guards of the colours. Traditionally the opposite gender to the colour they are protecting. They have NO magical ability but are trained in the arts of armed, unarmed and hand to hand combat. This means swords, spears. NO GUNS! They dont exist in this relm! Their reasons for joining the Spectri(army) is up to you, but it would have been a decision made from a young age remember, and the job of protecting the colours is partly self-nominated. Why did you nominate yourself?

Monochrome: These guys are the baddies. They have the ability to drain powers from colours, drain energy, intelligence anything from anyone. Think of them as giant vacuum cleaners. There are a few conditions though...

1) Draining requires physical direct contact with the victim
2) The victim MUST be weakened before draining can be done. Weak is defined as at least one of the following:
XXXX2a) The victim is unable to stand or fight much longer
XXXX2b) A serious injury, near temporary or permant crippling of the victim
XXXX2c) The victim is down for the count. Either seriously unwell, unconscious or comatosed.
3) What ever has been drained can be regained by the victim in these circumstances:
XXXX3a) Killing the monochrome
XXXX3b) Injuring the Monochrome and drinking enough of their blood to fill the entire vial carried by all Spectri's. Roughly about 5cm XXXXdeep.
4) They must follow what is said by their Queen...well...most of the time.

As well as this, each Monochrome has ONE magical ability. However, these abilities do not match that of the colours, they are darker. This means no Monochrome can use water, fire or any other elemental power a colour has. As well as this strictly NO SHAPESHIFTING! Other than that...be creative!

1: Don't ditch the roleplay: If your going to be absent please let us know and remove your character for a bit. Dont ask me how...vacation? Hospitalise them? On the other hand if you want to quit the roleplay let me know and we can arrange the termination of your character, or just kill them and tell me your leaving.

2: Be active:Post often! Of course everyone has lives and i appreciate that. Ill give you 5 days of no posting before i send you a friendly pm asking if your still with us. Im not nagging, im thinking of the other roleplayers, nobody likes to be stuck, waiting for a response. If you dont respond to the pm, ill give it another 5 days before i remove your character from the rp. If you were away for reasons that couldnt be helped, pm me...we'll talk.

3: Follow Gaia's Terms of Service:This means no content above PG 16 level such as sexual content, be it in text or picture form, Take it to pm's or preferably time skip. Dont flame others, be nice and this roleplay will be enjoyed by everyone!

4: No god-modding, auto-hitting, or powerplaying:Simple enough to follow right? Failure to comply will result in grunnies morphing through your floor and shredding you to pieces before peeing on your pillow and spending your savings on zombies. You've been warned.

5: Make your character unique:Unique characters are much better that the typical Mary sue's. Think of making your character as a challenge...embrace it and succeed!

6: Ask for permission before killing: Again, simple to understand. Im sure you wouldnt want to click the roleplay and find your character has been killed. Arrange with the person whos character you want to kill and inform me please so i dont rant at you.

7: Send reservations/profiles too: Gingerdoll. Title the PM with "Rain-icorns" to be a Colour. Title it with "Refraction" to be a Monochrome. Title it "Colour Guarding" to be a Spectri (guard)

8: Decorate your posts:That way we can see how pretty your character is and know who they are. If you cant format very well, just put a name and a pic if you can. Makes everyones lives easier!

9. Literacy:This is a semi-lit to Lit rp. So i expect proper grammer and spelling where you can, im not going to go all english teacher on you and circle mistakes. No L33T or text speak please. No **'s for actions, use "" for speech and (()) {{}} or [[]] for ooc chat. As for length of the posts i'd say push for at LEAST a 5 sentanced paragraph. Sure we all get writers block, but constant one liners and ill have to pull you up on it. We want the story to progress.

North - The city of Arcus
This glorious city is most likely where our Spectri's were born
and raised and is definatly where our Colours spent most
of their lives in the palace. The perfect weather and position
means trouble only occurs when it comes to the kingdom itself.

South - Firey Wastelands
The dark firey hell hole. Lava, volcanoes and hot ash.
This is also the residence of the Monochromes,
with the Queens castle being in the middle.

South east - The Desert
Dry, dusty and hot. The south East is home to the Desert.
Cati and lizards are really all you see here nature wise..
but then again, this isnt Earth, who knows what other creatures could lurk
....beneath the sand.

South West - Mountain Range
Dangerous climbs, caves and rockslides.
This is no ordinary mountain range. Covered in torrental rain,
experiencing hot weather and horrendous thunderstorms that
worse with every ascent.Dangerous and not inhabited by any if
at all. This place is dangerous enough on its own.

East - The Forest.
A landscape brimming with nature, plants and greenery.
Some argue that the forest infact resembles more of a jungle due to its slight
humidity, but the debate continues.

West - The coast line
The biggest and cleanest coast in the entire kingdom.
Warm water, fueled by many the many clean, large rivers
and water falls that run through the kingdom and into it.


North West - The frozen wastelands.
Cold, desolate yet full of dangers. Not really inhabited by anyone,
but a beautful cascade of Ice caverns and such fill the pure landscape.

North East - The cliffs
The sheer drops are enough to kill a man, but the breeze the rises up
on the cliff tops is a great releif to travellers that have just battled
through the humid Jungle and such.
Steep ascents, beautiful scenary...but are cliff edges always as safe
as they appear?

The spectri's and Colours method of transport will be by Sleipnir:
Sleipnirs are 8 legged horses that are very strong and fast. They vary in colour like normal horses, but those kept by the palace are normally white. They are never normally black.
They will travel, with one per pair, and who rides can be decided between each individual pair, alhtough both can ride at the same time.

The Monochromes ride Manticores.:
Manticores are large creatures, about the size of a lion to a horse. They have the face of a human, the body of a lion and the tail or either a scorpion or a dragon. They have 3 sets of razor sharp teeth much like a shark, and wings.
Monochromes have one each, but again can double up. These steeds also double as weapons so its not advised for colours to hang around them!

The crackling sound of breaking ice echoed through the chamber as Christopher awoke from his slumber. Shards of ice littered the icy stone tiles. At the far wall though, a shell of ice semi-encased the boy as he blinked and yawned.
The ice was his comfort zone. He found he couldnt sleep at night without its protection. As of yet, he was unaware who was assigned to watch over him. So as an additional measure, he set up safety precautions for himself. This 'ice walled sleeping system' being one of the first. Initially, it stemmed from paranoia, but now, it was just his method of bedding.

His eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar sight witht their vibrant, and distinctly coloured pupils. He stretched his arms, and sat up. The ice-shell encasing him slowly dimishing away. Chunks of ice littered his chamber floor as he slowly crossed the room. Small puddles were beginning to form on the stone tile as he got himself ready for the new day. Each puddle glazing over with a layer of ice as he glided atop the floor.
' Its such a shame . . . ' He thought to himself as he approached the door. ' . . . That they insist I go about my business during the light, instead of the night.'

❝Im the Blue Guard. Yes im fine...stop fussing over me, it's nothing!❞

As sunlight shone through his curtains, starting the day, Richard opened his eyes slowly, and rolled over. Sligning his arm to the bedside table, it clasped clumsily on the draw handle and roughly pulled it open, before he blindly fished around inside, and rolled onto his back as his hand clasped around a small plastic tube. His tablets.

Unfastening the lid he tipped two of the small chalky pills into his hand and popped them into his mouth before grasping the now slightly warm glass of water by his bed and sipping it to aid the tablets down his throat. He waited for a while before forcing himself to sit up, swinging his legs over the bed and ruffling his hair. As he went to stand, his chest constricted, like a boa constrictor had wrapped around it. The male gasped, and coughed violently, covering his mouth with his hand and forcing himself up, slamming the draw shut and heading straight for the bathroom sink, gagging and coughing before spitting blood into the sink and looking at his reflection in the mirror. "Sort yourself out Richie m'boy" he muttered to himself, before running water to get rid of the blood and setting about getting ready for the day ahead.

"Mr Belmont, for the last time, your condition is too severe to go ahead with this mission...the conditions you will encounter and such will aggravate your condition and could lead to your demise" The Doctor spoke solemly and seriously as Rich sat in the chair opposite, turning his pill bottle over in his hands. "Doc, if i go i could die....if i stay ill definatly die...i'd rather try to do this, try to get the money for treatement...and if not...least i had a nice adventure.." he said "Give me some painkillers..anything you can...im going to protect my Colour" he said, standing up. The doctor wrote the prescription, allowing Rick to pick up some medication before returning home and packing a large backpack of supplies and heading to the palace.

Sat in the gardens outside, looking at the piece of rolled up parchment in his hands Richard sighed, and looked up at the sky, his eyes reflecting the sky. He muttered a small prayer under his breath and stood, grabbing the rucksack, popping a pill into his mouth and heading into the main hall, looking at tapestries, the rucksack loosely over his shoulder, his sword holstered over his back and his free hand by his side, the parchment in the holster round his waist. He wondered if Miss Blue eyes was nice...what her name was....he wanted to do good. Better than good....he wanted to do the best he could...
