Welcome to Gaia! ::

The two solders were torn to shred by the bullets that were unleashed upon them by the crazed Russian. The men's dismembered body parts fell to the concrete floor of the warehouse, staining the floor red. Not that it would matter, for as they spoke, a small object was being launched from a small offshore island. This object was no more than 2'x2', undetectable by radar. It soared over the land and zoomed in on it's target. The warehouse. In the distance, Mike and the solider boreded a Shun Corp. transport copter and made their escape by air.
"Well damn, guess that's the end of that."

It was pretty much over; Karean's savings were basically completely gone and he had no source of income. His very cheap apartment would be taken away from him tomorrow. There wasn't anything really nice about it, it was small, it was dirty, it stank, and it didn't really have much in the way of furniture, just some very cheap or jerry-rigged stuff... with the sole exception of the safe.

In the safe was a large brown paper bag, the contents of which were really the only thing that separated him from the common filth that he dealt with on a daily basis. Sighing, he opened up the safe for one last time, grabbed the bag, and walked out of the apartment building.

Now he would have to start a new direction in his life, though he had no idea what. Maybe he could make a return to Magitek, though that seemed risky as during the time he secluded himself from society and lived in that stupid apartment, he had not bothered to check the news. At all.

Maybe he'd start off slow... Yes, that sounded like a plan. Karean stopped at a nearby payphone to call a friend who worked at a corporation that was friendly to Magitek... last time he checked. (And it was a long time since he had checked) Putting in a coin and dialing a number, he eventually heard, "Hello caller, you have reached the number of The Red Lion Company, we have merged and joined with the Shun Corp Family, how can we-"

Click. Karean hung up. Something wasn't right here, Red Lion would never willingly merge with Shun Corp...

"God dammit," Karean muttered, "This is what happens when I ignore things..."

Heading over to a public library, Karean checked many years worth of newspapers. Times had changed since he left the corporate world, and they didn't really change in his favor. Going back to the new Magitek certainly was no option for him.

Shaking his head in grief, Karean realized there was only one thing that hadn't changed that drastically since the old days: Shun Corp.

"I hate 'em, but they're still the old guys I know. I know how to deal with them, and maybe they'll be able to actually give me information on these new kids running around in the corporate scene."

Taking his brown paper bag with him, Karean set forth on a trip to the Shun Corp HQ, where he might be able to play his cards right and see the old Irishu Shun again, even though he did not really like him back in the old days.
Strolling through the lobby of the Shun HQ, Karean tried his best to look natural, despite the fact that he really stood out like a sore thumb. With all the corporate office workers milling back in forth in their clean and classy outfit, Karean in his dirty plain T-shirt and Jeans and the suspicious looking paper bag almost seemed like an illusion.

He simply stood there and admired the scene; it had been years since he had been back in a corporate environment like this, and it was refreshing of all the years dealing with junkies and drug dealers. His feet aching (The fact that his shoes were almost completely worn out being the main cause), Karean simply sat down on one of the benches, setting his brown paper bag right next to him.
A secretary glanced up from her game of Solitaire to see a grungy man sitting down in the lobby. She fixed her glasses, wondering what the man would want in a place like this. She leaned over her desk in the direction of the man.

Secretary: "Excuse me? Do you... need something?"

She said adjusting her pink framed glasses.
Karean chuckled and mumbled to himself.

"Jesus, baaack to the old game..."

Looking up at the secretary, he grinned. Combined with the fact that he has the face of a crack addict, it looked creepier than hell.

"Let's see, this probably won't work, but can I go and talk to the ol' Irishu Shun right now without an appointment? Or failing that, can I talk to the highest ranked member of your corporate family that has nothing better to do?"
Secretary: "Riiight... I'll check."

She pushed down a button and began to speak into an intercom mounted into the desk.

Secretary: "A man is here to see you, Mr. Shun. Looks pretty shady..."

She said in a hushed tone. She then paused and gave a confused look. She then turned back to the man.

Secretary: "What did you say your name was?"
"Sorry babe, I don't do that, but..."

Karean grabbed his paper bag and walked over to the desk. Pushing the secretary out of the way, he pressed the button himself and put his face right next to the intercom.

"Hey Mr. Irishu Shun, remember me? It's Mr. Magitek Industries, back after all these years."
Shun's face froze. ******** Karean ******** Takanago. Shun pressed down the button to transmit.

"Dolores, send him in. NOW."

He slouched back into his seat and awaited the arrival. The secretary readjusted her glasses and stood back up fixing her skirt.

Secretary: "Please, come this way."

She said, walking into an elevator.
"Sweet."

Smiling, Karean took his paper bag and headed into the elevator.

"You know if this is the elevator heading to the executive floors, it should have an elevator operator," Karean said while openly picking something out from in between his teeth with his tongue. "That's how I did it, I liked that."
"Damn, Shun bastards." Ivan watched the chopper leave with the remaining solders.

"All right! I want everyone out and a building team in! NOW!

Out of fear the warehouse became empty and the building crew arrived in a matter of minutes. Ivan left in a chopper as the crew arrived.
Secretary: "Right, whatever."

She said in a tedious tone. This man was seriously getting on her nerves. They stepped into he elevator, where she had a retina scan administered. The elevator lurched to the right for a few seconds before it skyrocketed into the air. With a dull thud, the door began to open into Shun's Office.

"Please... have a seat."

Irishu said as Dolores pushed him out of the elevator, closing the door behind him.
The Little Brother bomb reached it's target. About 200 feet above the warehouse, the bomb spider webbed out, thousands of smaller bombs about the size of a child's fist fell to the warehouse. Explosions. Thousands of small explosions echoed out through the landscape. Mike watched the warehouse go up in flames. A job well done.
Grinning, Karean sat in the chair.

He paused.

Standing up for a second, he pulled the chair closer to Mr. Shun's desk.

"Scuse me," he said as he kicked his shoes off, sending them in no particular direction. Then he slouched in the chair, put his paper bag in his lap and rested his bare, dirty feet on the desk.

"So it seems things have changed since the old days, eh? You've grown quite a bit... Are you sure you're full Chinese? Maybe your mom fooled around with some American or a Brit. I didn't know Chinese people got as tall as you!"

Laughing, he paused for a second and continued, "Really though, this s**t has changed a lot. It's just you and some kiddie companies running around now. The hell is going on here, 'Rish?"
Irishu pushed Karean's feet off the desk.

"First, you answer ME some questions. Like where the hell have you been these past few years? I'm not saying it wasn't nice having Magitek out of the picture for a few years, but still."

He said in a stern voice, his empty eyes looking straight into Karean's.
He put his feet back on the desk and wiggled his toes.

"I've been on a vacation. I'd recommend you take one too. It'll show you how much bullshit there is in corporations these days. And don't thank me for Magitek's quietness for a while, thank the executives who handled things while I was gone. And then died. Can you believe that, man? I'm glad I wasn't there to see any of that!"

Karean grinned some more.

"But really, take a vacation. It'll do you some good."
