"Knowing the location of a massive city of gold would make me feel better." He retorted sarcastically. He continued to stare at the map. "If only that crazy b*****d who found the city were... less dead." He laughed to himself. "Well, if we're going out into the Khaitland, I'm getting my coat. It's ******** cold around there, even inside the ship."
((Sorry for the holdups--I'm getting swamped with PMs. Yay!!!))

Delia chuckled, but then sighed. He was right. She was trying to be optimistic, but damn... Those weren't even directions. All she knew was that the man looked and acted completely and totally sane before he died. But maybe she was just easily fooled. God, she just wanted money again. She never realized how much she liked being wealthy until she wasn't anymore. Sure, she could live without, but it was just... So much harder.
Keegan sighed, walking off to get his coat. It was old, and had a hole in one arm, from a fight he'd gotten in on a trip back to Ireland a year or so back. It had been patched up, but the patch had falen off recently, and he hadn't found the time to fix it again. He put on the coat in preparation for the cold, and walked back to the main deck. "Honestly, I can't ever remember having money for more than one day of my life in a row." he said, mostly to himself.

((Swamped, you say? Awesome! Not because you're swamped, but because that means members.))
A figure walked out into the main conversation. She had figured that it was now to make her thoughts known. Alex, not being a speaker, looked at the two and then lowered her head. "Captain. If I may pledge a thought" She said, quietly. Shuffling her feet below her, she looked up again, scanning the room. "I have an idea in what the man might have meant. Though its a low chance."
Delia was about to make some retort to Keegan, until Alex spoke up--a rarity. "Certainly," she said. Quite frankly, if Alex was talking, it was pretty much obvious it was important. "How do you mean?" she asked when the girl was done.
Keegan had started to look down at the map angrily again, until he heard Alex speak, which caused him to look up. "Hm?"
((New character, inventor for Adra! His profile's up. :3))
"Well what if, and this is a big what if, the man meant more to his directions than up simply." Alex paused, and took a gulp. "What if he was giving a clue? Like a hint to get you on your way. Like a treasure map. Up being 2 letters could be one of many things. Each being a certain letter in the alphabet. Such as A being one. Well U could be latitude and P longitude. Its an old mapping trick. Maybe there is something there." She paused again, seeing the looks on the faces around her. "Like I said. Its a stretch but I dont think he meant up simply."
Keegan looked awestruck. She could be right. That was amazing. Why hadn't he thought of that? "She could be right, captain." He said, looking over to her.

((Mlaaaah, Mr. Evil Captain of British Chineseness needs friends.))
((I know--I'm trying for antagonists.))

Delia raised her eyebrow. "Alex," she said, "why do you not talk more? If this is the sort of thing you'd say whenever you talk, you really, really need to talk more." She turned to Keegan and said, "Get out a map. A big one." She turned to Alex and said, "Go with him--you two figure that out. Mark the ending coordinate and then come tell me what you came up with."
Keegan nodded obediently, his frustration gone suddenly. "Yes, Captain." He said, opening a cabinet, and pulling out a massive map. He looked over to Alex. "I like you today." He said. "You're a ******** Genius, you know that? Anyways, let's go and figure out where we need to go, right?"
Delia smiled as the two went off. One of the best perks of being Captain, she thought, was being called Captain. It always made her feel so important. And dammit, she was! She smiled again and whistled a little tune.
Alex nodded to Delia, turning to Keegan. She smiled as he got more spunk. She only nodded, seeing as her thoughts were out and she had no need to speak. She was, in her mind, counting out the numbers the letters stood for.
