Blare was just about to present her last performance for music class. There was 5 minutes left in the day. Just enough time to play her song and get out of there! Finally! Summertime! she squealed excitedly in her head. She picked up her guitar, beginning to play the song Tip the Scales by Rise Against, singing along with the lyrics happily. Her eyes remained on the clock for the most part. Time was flying. She was half way through the song by now. Two and a half minutes to go... Her long, wavy auburn hair swayed around as she sung.
Emma looked at the clock in front of her and then looked to the girl who was singing. She smiled slightly as she stared at her hands playing each note and then she turned her attention to the window. She could see several girls laughing and talking outside. She wished this was her free period, but music class wasn't so bad. She still had a horrible time singing in front of everyone...
Nikki sat outside, alone as usual. It was her free period, thank god...and her last period. Ever. This was her last year of high school...it all went by so fast...She was so surprised. She lied on her back in the grass, soaking up the sun. She was waiting for Blare to finish with music. They needed to start packing. They were finally going to be free from the homophobic pigs they had to call 'parents'.
Emma hopped up and picked up her books. She looked to the teacher waiting for the time she would be able to go through those doors. She looked back to the window before she was bumped into by some random person. She groaned as her books fell to the ground and she reached down to pick them up. "So much for the best last day ever." She said sighing.
Blare saw what happened, and half-ran over to help. " Hey watch it!" She called after the person. " Well that was rude..." She shook her head, kneeling down to help Emma pick up her books. " What a moron.." She said, picking up the last of her books. " Are you alright?" She asked, smiling at Emma.
Emma picked up the last book and smiled to Blare. "Well I'm fine, but I don't know how much more my books can take of abuse. Glad this is our last day." She said standing back up. "Sorry about this though. You didn't have to help."
Blare smiled. " I don't mind helping. Especially someone as pretty as you." She winked and giggled. " I know! I can't wait to just hit the beach and surf! It's gonna be so nice.." she sighed happily at the thought. " So anyways!!" She said, looking at Emma. " I'm Blare. I don't really know if we've met met, or we just sat beside each other and never talked to each other." She giggled. Yes, she was a bit of an odd girl. She had ADHD, though, so that explained it. She felt a little self-conscious at that moment...she was in a pair of short shorts and a white tank top that only went up to the top of her belly button. In her mind, she wasn't very pretty at all...and she thought she was nothing compared to Emma.
"Well. I never learned surfing so I just stick to swimming." She said smiling. "And I'm not that pretty. But thank you!" She said laughing a bit. She looked at the teacher as he opened the doors and looked to Blare. "Do you wanna take this outside?" She asked her.
Blare smiled. " Yeah, totally!" She said, leaving her guitar with the teacher, throwing her bag over her shoulder. She grabbed Emma's hand and walked out of the school. " Do you have to go to your locker, orrrr....?" She asked. She was holding her hand 1: Because she wanted to and 2: So they didn't get seperated. This wasn't exactly a small school.
