"Your friend is leading us to the beasts that had attacked him. If no proof exists we will hold him responsible for the deaths in this town. Now move along stranger or you'll make matters worse for your friend here." Zypher looked back at Constantine desperately, his face a mask and his voice making no sound. Yet the feeling of dread and depression seems to hang on the air around him. The townspeople who now well armed seemed to only encourage the "Trial" and a few took to throwing rocks at Zypher not even scratching him, but surely hurting his pride.

Constantine just turned as his anger started to rise. His eyes were flashing red. suddenly he turns back to the innskeeper and growls. " so you dont have any good evidence but you are here putting an innocent man in jeopardy on some hunch". He smells something in the air and turns to see a woman appear out of nowhere. weird. he then turns back to the man and grabs him by the throat and lifts him off the ground. He whsispers in his face. " What if i told you i was the monster"

"What?" Brielle began to panic. "We have to help him. He couldn't have done something like that. Not last night. He was in too bad of a shape to do anything!" Without stopping to consider all the options, she scooped up Copper and raced out the door. She stopped when she saw Constantine holding the innkeeper up by the man's throat and people from the mob throwing rocks at Zypher. "Constantine, put him down! You'll kill him!" As soon as she finished speaking, she turned onto the towns people. "As for the rest of you, do you have no respect for others? Stop throwing those rocks and let him speak for himself. You're all accusing him of doing something that you have no proof that he was even remotely related to!" It was obvious that Brielle was unhappy with how the situation was being handled. Then again, you could say that she was overreacting.

~Protecting life is the duty of all...

Walking to the large man holding the struggling innkeeper by the throat she placed a hand on his arm her hands weight was light and her face solemn. "He is scared stranger, if you lived in fear of creatures carrying you away at night and doing... things to you then you would be scared as well. I beseech you, The boy has more sense, to silently accept the torture is to deny them the thought they are right." She waited for a response her other hand beginning to raise. "Please drop him..." Out of the corner of her eye she saw a girl talking to a cat and shook her head, to each their own...

...so its not a matter of volunteering.~

"Enough! Everyone stop threatening everyone else... The bodies are gone. I have no proof to show." Zypher said as he saw the remains of the tent and the lack of the ramblers they had killed. He had been afraid of this, maybe he was the beast they thought he was. It wouldn't have been the first time he had been called that. "I cant tell you what happened to them, but they were here I swear." His last phrase was met with more boos and cries of "Liar!" He saw Constantine lift up the innkeeper and he sighed. "This is the part where things go out of control and I cant stop the chaos..."

Copper had seen enough of this farce as well, he moved away from the crowd and made sure he was prepared for the dumb decision he had made. Humans use their powers so frivolously... There was a time when I didn't care about them but I guess I just want to see them succeed.

A large cry broke through the crowd as silence over took them. Mumbled, whats that? what can make that noise? and other such things were all that could be heard. A second bone piercing cry drove all eyes to a large blur of spiked orange and brown fur elongated fangs and giant blade like claws. With that everyone broke up running for their homes and any place of shelter nearby.

Constantine had the man by the throat and ignored brielles cry to let him go. he was on the brink of chaos when suddenly he felt a warm presence by him. A woman put her hand on his arm. He turns to look at her while still holding the innkeeper. his eyes widen as he realized she was the one who appeared out of nowhere. shes right you know....plus all this is your fault. He drops the man and steps back. he looks at the woman. " Who are you?" He suddenly hears the townspeople cry out in fear and his sword appears in his hands in a flash. He whispers to the mysterious woman. " stay close to me"

Brielle was stunned. Copper had just leapt out of her arms and walked off. Next thing she knew, all the townspeople were screaming and running from an oddly familiar blur of fur. 'What's going on?' she wondered. Constantine had dropped the innkeeper and was talking to some woman that she hadn't noticed before, and Zypher was simply standing there as if he had given up and the townspeople were right.

~Mystery is like a veil...

Chiron smiled warmly at the large man her assumption was right. "There is good in you, I'm very glad..." She moved slowly over to the other side of the man and stood beside the girl. "My name is Chiron, I represent the scales of justice and the balance of nature." Chiron had never found so much of a knot in the balance of order as she had found here. the townspeople were reacting normally but the few who stood beside her seemed to be something more than common souls. "Do not act for a moment we need to sort this out before action is taken..." She said quietly and calmly her own weight decreasing to the point that she almost hovered on the ground.

...one that can be donned with the correct turn of phrase."~

Brielle hadn't noticed the girl walk over to her until she spoke. "My name is Brielle," she said. Her head merely moved in the barely recognizable motion of a nod at Chiron's next few words. Brielle wasn't quite sure about what to do anymore, but this quiet girl seemed to.

Zypher had the best view of the creature. It was huge, far bigger than a horse and its gaze held his own for a fraction of a second. He suddenly felt something hit him, not physically but mentally and as fast as it happened he collapsed to the ground.

Copper walked back to Briele sitting in front of her and licked his paw running it over his ears. He couldn't have predicted the reaction the boy would have had, it was very intriguing. He didn't realize that he was a catalyst. "Lady Briele why do you look so frightened? Did the boy start eating townspeople?" Copper said with a mildly indifferent tone. "Oh dear seems he fainted didn't he?"

"Copper?" The realization hit Brielle like a ton of bricks. "How you did you..." she trailed off. 'The boy?' Brielle looked around for the person the cat was referring to. The only people she saw where Constantine, Chiron, and... Zypher. He was lying on the ground. "Zypher?" she asked. Brielle kneeled next to the boy before turning back to Copper. "Is he okay?"

"He was closer to the thing then the rest of you, maybe it scared him?" Copper suggested whimsically while casting a glance at the new girl. "He looks like he is still breathing so I would say maybe just overwhelmed" Copper ventured while sitting on Zypher's chest triumphantly. The little cat knew the beast, it wondered how long it would take the humans to put two and two together. The boy was a bigger mystery though, how could such misfortune follow someone like him. That and Constantine, who smelled of madness and hate.
