Aaricia was relief the guard came. She wanted to get her sword but hesitated since it was close to the dark lord.

Kraelin raised an eyebrow at the person who had until that moment been a "normal" guard. That was... odd. Despite this change, the demon did not appear to be afraid. On the contrary, he seemed amused.

"A dragon lord?" he questioned, sounding like he would start laughing at any moment. "As entertaining as it would be to terminate your life, I have other business to attend to. Now if you will excuse me, I am taking the princess and leaving. Keep out of things that do not concern you, dragon lord."

Kraelin melted into shadow, then reappeared in another spot in the room. It didn't seem to tire him at all.

"Oh?" he inquired, tilting his head curiously as he regarded Raiden. "And which people would that be?" All things considered, he really hadn't killed that many people in his life. No more than your average soldier, though he had certainly driven a few people mad and may or may not have caused them to end their own lives. This dragon lord must be misinformed.

Kraelin frowned again. He didn't like how this person was talking to him, especially since he had no recollection of the event he was describing. The past meant nothing to Kraelin. His thoughts were fixed on the present and the future.

"Believe what you will," he seethed, "but do not insult me." He wasn't weak. Far from it. He was incredibly powerful. There were times in the distant past when he couldn't quite control himself, yes, but those times were long gone. He was in perfect control now.

Kraelin simply spread his black raven's wings and flew up a couple feet, not touching the walls, ceiling, or floor. This was an annoyance, but he was sure he could escape easily if he wished to. Dark magic was far more powerful than electricity.

"You really think you can contain me here?" he questioned, glancing at the princess. He should grab her and get out. Fighting the dragon lord was a waste of precious time.

Kraelin's eyes narrowed in annoyance as he was fired at. In what could be considered a desperate move, he shot forward, ignoring the heat of the flames as he got closer to the source. He flew right into the door, bracing himself for the impact before hitting it hard. The electricity surged through him painfully, but he put it out of his mind and focused on what he was trying to do.

The door broke as he hit it, and when he found himself in the hallway, he formed a pool of shadows behind the princess and dove at her, intending to grab her and escape through that black circle, which would take him back to his fortress in the dark world.

I can't believe this is all going on. It's not like it never could have happened, but why now? Is it because the kingdoms have been doing so well lately? Even the peaceful calm of the gardens and pond could help Brielle relax. It was times like these when she wondered if she could really handle being a princess. Her eyes drifted towards the sky. Brielle felt like something wasn't right, almost like she should be doing something, but she didn't know what.
