"How much longer, Hun?" Liang asked as he played with the molecules in the air in such a way that it created a miniature aurora borealis within the room.
"You, sir," his brother's voice was muffled from within the machine he was tinkering on, "are impatient, as always. I almost have the configurations finished. A few more minutes."
"You do realize, kiddo, that you told me this same answer half an hour ago?" Liang grinned, flexing his fingers in an odd pattern and making the aurora wave around eerily. "I understand your scientific mind is starved for answers about this weird phenomenon of mine, but it's fine insofar as it keeps us from getting hurt."
Hun slid out from within the machine, tossing aside a wrench. "And I'm doing it so you can better understand your powers. Not just 'cause I'm curious."
Liang shot him a look.
"Okay fine. It's mainly because I'm curious. But I also do want to make sure whatever has allotted you these powers isn't also adversely affecting you as well."
"Your concern is noted. But I don't see how if doctors cannot differentiate me from any other normal person how this machine of yours will do anything different."
"Just put your hand in the machine and do what you do."
"'Do what I do' is a really vague term, Hun."
"Fine, try heating the air molecules in the vicinity. Not too hot though! I won't have you overheating the device!"
"Fine, fine." Liang moved towards the machine and a compartment slid open for his arm. Slipping his right arm into the machine several clasps came out to hold his limb in place. Hun quickly attached several sensor nodes onto Liang's forehead, as well as some bio-indicators across his body. The machine beeped once and several chambers inside glowed with a neon blue hue. Looking at Hun for confirmation, Liang started a mental picture of warmth, and quite suddenly the compartment within the machine was reading a rising temperature. Steam condensed at the edges of the machine and it beeped frantically when the air became increasingly muggy.
"Alright, alright, that's enough!" Hun cried and Liang immediately stopped the process. The clasps let go and he withdrew his arm.
"And...?" Liang looked at his brother expectantly, but he had a confused look.
"Nothing with just this data... Hun growled, "I'm going to have to study this with the other data and see if there's a correlation."
Liang rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm going to head out, kiddo. Anything you want from the candy store?" When Hun didn't answer, Liang glanced over to see that his brother was already deep in study among the numerous screens and sheets strewn about the table. "Ha, never mind. I guess I'll surprise you with some cotton candy later tonight or something..."
Liang cracked open the window and began leaping through the air, condensing the air below him so it formed platforms of buoyancy. When he approached the more populous are of Hero City he quickly dropped to the floor, lest anyone notice his strange powers, deciding to walk the rest of the way to the mall.
