Mindy arived at the front line. She could see a girl that was hovering in the air. Mindy took a good look to see the dark ones dauther and mindy growled under her breath. "Damn I hate that witch" Mindy mumbled as she looked at them. Mindy watched with rage as she looked at them . She turned and looked around for some one injured to heal as she was sent to do.

The Dark Daughter laughed as Mataya shook in pain, "You see Star Clan? This women is dieing for a man and where is he now? Run off like a coward he cares not about this women your warrior Alexder of Valtan has desserted you all!" Matayas pain became to much she fianlly passed out before sreaming "FREEDOM!" once more. She eyes rolled back into her head and she passed out.

Alexander arrived back at the tower. The first Dark Ones who saw him didnt even get a chance to scream as he dove in, slamming his hammer into ones face, then smashing the other into a wall.

He moved quickly towards the doors to the tower, smashing past another two Dark Ones. HE gave a mighty kick and opened the doors with a bang. There he stood, hammer still dripping blood eyes blazing with hate as he gazed in at the Dark One guards.

Mindy walked closer towards the tower so she could see what was going on perfectly. She was mumbling bad stuff about the dark ones as she watched. Alot of people turned and looked at her. She lookedaround at the people and had a small grin.

The Dark daughter laughed as Alexander barged in "I thought our little display would bring you back dearest Alexander although you do not love this pathictic women I knew duty and honor would bring yo back, now then Mataya do kill him" Mataya was let down and stood before them she eyes were black instead of there beautiful green she took the dagger from the dark daughter and moved forward as to stab Alexander, then she had tears in her eyes as she stabbed herself instead.

" Your continued existence is enough to bring me back, witch. Now make peace with whatever dark gods your kind serves. " he said.

He quickly prepared to guard him self against Matayas strikes. He knew he could avoid or just incapacitate her if he needed too, but he watched in horror as she stabbed her self.

" no.... NOOO!!! I WILL KILL YOU FOR THAT!!! " Screamed Alexander, piratically flying at the Witch, hammer held over his head for a mighty smash downwards. The hammer burst into white hot flames as he prepared to strike.

"Noo" Mindy yelled as she seen the girl stab herself. Mindy had a feeling it was the dark one who made her do it, or shehad done it not to kill someone else. Mindy ran as fast as she could. She really felt like she was to slow. She culd see her Tiger running with her supplies to heal. She whisled and the tiger ran faster. She whispered something in the Tigers ear and her went crazy. He attacked every dark one that was in Mindy's way. She hurried up to get to the girl.

Mataya gasped and her eyes returned to normal she looked at Alexander, "I c..c..couldn't hurt you A...l...l...lexander, FOR VALTAN!" she grabbed the knife from her gut with a gasp of pain then plunged it into the heart of the Dark Daughter, the girl smiled, "Now now no need to get nasty, my daddy won't like what you did!" with that she disapered in a puff of black smoke. Mataya fell to the ground reaching for Alexander. "F..f fff..or the Star Clan"

Alexander's strike hit the ground were the witch had stood, shattering the stones and a blast of fire and light scattered the fragments.

" Damn her!! " he snarled pulling his hammer out of the crater it had made in the ground.

He turned to Mataya. " You should have let me die... i didn't want this to happen to anyone in my place. " he said looking down at her. The girl with the tiger arrived. He remembered her, she was a healer of some kind... " YOU!! healer! we have a wounder one here! " he said beckoning her over. " Hold on woman, help is here.... don't bleed out on me. " he ordered.

Mataya struggled to keep her eyes open, she smiled, "I....I love you thats what people do when they love someone they are willing to die in there place, Oh Alexder you are stubborn and arogent and bull headed and I have tried to hate you b b but I can't...be happy" with that her eyes rolled back and she pasted out as her blood pooled around her,

" Mataya.... dammit.... " he said surprised at her admission. He had not considered that she might love him, he didn't see him self as a very lovable person. He was a soldier, a warrior, his life was one of self denial for the good of the clan...

He looked at her, sadness welling up in his heart. If only they had met before this war, before he had dedicated him self to purging the dark ones. He could have easily loved her, this strong, but meek woman. Damn the cruel fate that brought this!! He was for once, helpless, unable to do anything... at a loss for words.

The three suddenly appeared at his side and looked down at Mataya, the eldest put a hand on his shoulder, "Only love can save her now her wounds are such not ever Mindys talent can save her now, Go to the other Mindy you can not save brave Lady Mataya, only Alexander can with the help of this" the witch handed Alexander a tiny vile with potion, "When one gives this potion to the one he or she loves it can save them all you must to is mix it with one tear cried in earnest disspear then pour it on her lips then kiss her if your love is true she will wake in one hour stronger then she has ever been and the two of you will be strong enough to kill the Dark lord and he leader, but if you dont love her she will die and we will loose the war, you see brave Alexander no only strength and courage is needed to win but also love"

" You say that the fate of the Clans themselves rests on my personal feelings? You say that I cant banish some pathetic dark one wizard with out your potion? Then i don't have a choice do i? " he said with a shrug taking the foul potion.

He stood for a moment, looking down at Mataya, and a single tear trickled down his face, and he caught it before it vanish into his beard. He shook it into the potion, and turned to the mages. " I don't believe in your story about defeating the dark lord, but i am willing to do this for Mataya, she choose to die rather then turn. As all Star Clan should. If i can repay her by my love, then so be it. " he said solemnly

He laid his hammer down , and carefully raised Mataya's head, and smearing the liquid on his lips he kissed her deeply. Then he gently laid her down.

He pushed past the three, picking up his hammer. He pulls his cloak about him and marched to the door to wait.

The youngest of the three laughed, "Well your love will help win but we wanted to see if you loved her and we knew you would never tell her. If you don't truly deeply love her she will die if you do she will live and even you will know you love her. If she dies your anger will drive you to kill the Dark Lord and his daughter if she lives together you will lead the star clans to victory she will ask if you truly want her in time you will grow very close and marry and Mataya will put down her sword and never fight again she will be the wife you want but that will not be for years. So now we wait to see if you love her" The three smiled. "We must go, if she wakes give her water and hold her she will grow very cold and will need body warmth if she wakes and you tell her what happened she will want to kill us so we take leave" the all laughed and then were gone.

" Your tricks and soothsaying grow tiresome." he muttered. Damn worthless clan. Nothing but trouble and cheap tricks... but still they could be useful sometimes. He just wished they woudl stop meddling in HIS affairs. They seemed too interested in him, and less on Crushing the Dark Ones.

And they were fools to think he couldn't slay the Dark Lord. They were right about love, but love between a man and woman was not the only love that one could have. His love of the Clans, of what they stood for, was hard a iron and etched in stone.

But he couldn't say he had not though of Mataya. But he didn't know if he loved her.... Not like that. He genuinely hoped she would live again, especially now that the damn mages had made some kind of mystical thing out of it.

He couldn't think of life after the war... not until the last Dark One had been purged.
