Axel "Hell" Firestorm

Axel kept lifting the table as he heard Saphira. "The guy who sponsers this event, who is on the other side of the door." He told her, pointing to the two red velvet doors he had locked earlier. Cylver kept doing his push ups, keeping the apple balanced on his toes as he did them. Axel soon stopped as he went behind the counter and got himself a drink of water. "There are twelve fighters total...usually there are only eight." He said as he took a drink, watching Cylver continue. Cylver's sword was still strapped to his side, hanging as he was working.

Saphira looked over at the doors. "Who is he?" She turned back to watch Cylver as he did push-ups. "Are you and Cylver both fighting?" Saphira asked Axel.

Cylver pushed the apple off his feet and flipped to where he was sitting down, catching apple before looking up at Saphira. "Of course we are! I wouldn't pass something like this for the world!" He told her as he took another bite out of the apple. "You two ready?" He asked Daniel and Tessa. Axel looked over at Daniel, noticing the dog tags. He then took his out from under his shirt, showing his now as a sign of respect. In the Navy, showing another fighter your tags was a sign of respect and determination. Axel then turned to Saphira and grinned before hitting his fist into his palm. "We are Firestorms, after all...the will to fight no matter what odds is our way of living." He told her. Axel and Cylver's eyes were both now blood red. It was a trait passed down through generations of their family. Those who had it were born into natural fighters.

Saphira smiled at the brothers. Their confidence and determination were catching, and she felt herself growing excited about the tournament too. She was worried though, she didn't want to see any of them get hurt. And she wasnted all of them to win, which of course was impossible. "I have never seen a tournament like this before. It sounds interesting, have you fought in many of them?" This time she directed her question at Cylver. Even Tessa was going to fight! She began to feel that sense of worry again, worry that she had no chance of joining such an experienced crew. She had never fought before, and clearly it was important to this group. She was desperate for a chance to show that she was worthy of joining them. And she would do anything she needed to in order to have that chance.

Cylver listened to Saphira and shook his head. "No...this is my first one." He told her before he locked eyes with Axel. "My main goal was to prove to my brother that I no longer need him there for me all the time." He told her as he took another bite of the apple. Axel nodded as he then turned to his glass of water and drank it down. Cylver then remembered the conversation she had with Daniel and smiled. "Oh, and about the fighting part...you don't have to have much experience at first...You could always train aboard the ship after your chores." He explained as he winked, giving her a grin along with it.

Saphiras smile lit up at what Cylver told her. She had hoped there would be an opportunity for her to train in fighting. "Are you nervous at all? I bet you're not. You seem very excited. I suspect you will win, at least some of the tournament anyway." She told him. She felt that his confidence could be very beneficial to him, it would fuel his determination. "I would love to train. After my chores of course. At least I should be good at those." She laughed, knowing that she would at least be useful at keeping the ship clean.

Cylver laughed when she talked about him being nervous. "Of course I'm nervous, but I will not let that cloud my mind and soul. A fighter can tell when he is nervous, but a warrior can tell that, plus keep his strength." He said before he jumped into the air, flipping around for a second before landing on his feet. You could tell Cylver was ready for the battles ahead. You could just feel the energy coming off of him. Axel leaned against the wall behind him as he folded his arms. He could hear people still working on the arena in the back and the voices. I thought it would've been done by now... Cylver looked over at Saphira and held up his hand. "I'd train ya, but first you have to wait until this tournament is over. One tip though if you ever fight, though. Never look down at your opponents sword. Keep your eyes locked with theirs. The sword can lie, but the eyes tell all."

Saphira laughed at Cylver's enthusiasm when he flipped. He seemed to be bursting with energy and she found that it made her feel happy "You would train me?" She asked excitedly. "Even though I have never fought before?" She felt her cheeks grow warm. She was delighted that he offered, and hoped she wouldn't make a fool of herself when that time came.

Cylver shook his head before he put his hands in his pockets. "It matters not where you come from, nor if you have any skill at all. What matters is how you choose to live your life. I may be only 18 and on a pirate ship, but I never use my sword to deal death. I use it to protect and to guard." He told her as he looked up at the ceiling. He then smiled more before he closed his eyes. "I don't care if you've never even touched a blade, but be warned that it will never be easy to learn. It takes focus, concentration, and a strong will to keep going and learn." He explained to her as he looked back at Axel and grinned. Axel knew these teachings well, for he was the one who taught them to Cylver. It was like looking back in time to see himself teaching him all over again.

Saphira nodded. The things Cylver told her were very true, and very wise. "I may not have the experience, but I have the determination. And I do not ever give up. If I want to do something I will do it." Cylver had said he may only be 18, but she personally thought that he seemed to know a lot. She herself was only 19, and had always felt pretty smart. "I would never use a weapon against someone unless it was necessary." She told him, bringing back memories of the only time she had used one. That was something she had tried not to think about in a long time, and it still brought a slight feeling of shame.

Bright blue eyes opened slowly to a sight of beauty. The sun was peeking through her window that rested above her bed. Willow bed was very large for such a small body to be sleeping in. But thats how she rathered it. With lots of space. Willow sat up straight, and yawned, stretching her arms high above her head. Her long black locks dangled down over her shoulders, face and back. Willow had incredibly long, and lushes jet black hair that reached her lower back. She tucked a few stray pieces behind her ears as she stood from her bed. Willow walked over to her dresser and began to get dressed. It was a hot one out today, with no chance of wind or rain. Perfect. Willow slid into her favorite skirt. It was fairly gypsy-like in style. With a fabric belt, charms, and chains. There was even a couple of rubies and sapphires built into the dangling charms. She then threw on brown tank top, and a puffy white blouse overtop. She did only a few buttons up, then threw on her captains hat.

Willow stepped away from her quarters and ship, and left for town. She was to head back to Axels tavern for breakfast. His food had to be good. It was the great Axel after all. By the time the captain had arrived, her crew mates were eating breakfast and talking amongst themselves. She had caught the last ear-full of Cylver and the new womans conversation. Willow walked up to the two, and smile of her scarlet lips. She looked beautiful this morning, showing obvious signs of a good nights sleep. Well if youre going to serve me on my ship, you need to know how to defend yourself. she smiled to the woman, and then to Cylver. Willow didnt like the idea of haveing weak and defenseless pirates aboard her ship. It wasnt the pirate way. Willow suddenly remembered Cylver being hurt last night from a scuffle with his brother. How are your wounds feeling this morning, Mr Firestorm? She had hoped Rose had tended to him.

Cylver looked up to see the captain in the tavern now and smied. "Morning, captain!" He said to her with a joking salute. When he heard she wanted womeone who could defend themselves, he beamed. "We've got a few days at port left. If all goes well in your training, then you might join." He told Saphira as he stretched. When he heard Willow's question as if he were all right, he grinned before he did a handstand, spinning a little bit before he landed on his feet again. "Much better! I've been working out some of the time I've been here." He told her as he scratched the back of his head.

Axel looked up at Willow and all he could do was grin. "If my memory serves me right, you'd like some of the dumplings I make, huh?" He asked her with a grin. He knew Willow, knowing she loved the food he made.

Willows mood instantly jumped to happy and worry-free. She was glad to see Cylver back on his feet again and hopping around like usual again. Willow nodded her head with his remark. IF... Your training goes well. Willow couldnt just accept any ol pirate that wanted work on her ship. They had to earn it, and prove their worth. Willow looked over to Cylver and smiled. Dumplings eh? she grinned, her mouth watering. Willow could always go for food. She loved to eat. But sometimes, her terrible health would get the better of her, and she would be too weak, or sore to even move, let alone fill her stomach. I could go for some of your amazing dumplings. With jam on the side please! She spoke cheerfully. Willow had odd taste in food.

So? Is everyone ready for the tournament? She asked out of pure interest. She knew she would eventually end up facing one of her crew members in battle. But which one?

Axel laughed when Willow was cheerful. "Hold up..." He said as he then grabbed out the ingredients. He mixed up everything he had, using a little bit of everything. He then started wrapping up the food and ingredients and bade a little ball of food. "Here you are..." He told her as he pushed it towards her. Cylver saw the food and smiled as he closed his eyes. "You still are a jack of all trades." He told Axel as he heard small splashing of water. "Jack of all trades, master of nothing." Axel told him as he grinned.

Cylver heard Willow's question and nodded. "Of course I am captain...I respect you, but as soon as we fight, I hold nothing back." He told her, leaning against the counter with his arms folded. He grinned as Axel tightened the wraps on his hands. "I agree with Cylver."

Saphira bowed to Willow when she entered. "I will do my best." She said in respsonse to both Willow and Cylver's comments about her training. Then she eyed the food Axel gave Willow. She had not eaten since the previous morning, and she was feeling very hungry. Taking out the few coins she had, she held them out to Axel "Do you have anything to eat that I could buy with these?"
