oooBreathing. Labored, heavy breathing. It was all she could hear at the moment, all she could focus on. Every so often it would be broken up into sections by a dry swallow, followed up by a gasp and another fit of breathing. She needed to get a hold of herself. If not then they might hear her, and if they heard her there would be more trouble than she cared for. Taking in a deep breath she held it in, fighting against the burning sensation in her chest. The true culprit emerged then, the thundering in her ears overtaking the place of the nuisance. Next, she would have to control the speed. Closing her eyes she began to concentrate on the sound of her heart, thinking only of what it should have sounded like: steady and strong. For a while it would seem this tactic wasn't going to work. Then, slowly, the beating began to still itself, falling and falling into a more normal rhythm. The burning in her chest ceased, and with great relief she released the breath she had been holding and opened her eyes. Now that she had control once again, what was their situation?

Chaeli's emerald gaze darted over to the furthest corner where a figure crouched down. A familiar and comforting sapphire stare was there to greet her's, several thin locks of similar raven hair cutting angles into them. They held a sense of uncertainty. It had been almost an hour since they had found themselves in the little supply locker. Of course this wasn't the most ideal place to be stuck in any situation, but when a hoard of flesh-crazed demons was on your tail any reinforced door was a welcome one. Placing her back against the steel plating Chaeli leaned in and listened closely. The frantic sounds of scratching and growling had stopped coming from the other side; a very good sign. Sure there was still a chance of their being stragglers mulling about in the alleyway beyond, but it was better than an angry mob. They needed to move and find a better place before nightfall or risk being cornered by something even worse.

Looking back to Eri Chaeli nodded her head. "When I count to three, we run. Just stay behind me, okay?" As she spoke her hand reached down to grip the handle of her bat, lifting it from the small pool of blood that it rested in. It was obvious the thing had seen some action in its time. Dents littered the body up and down, each and every one with blood residue stuck inside of the crook. That alone was enough to make Eri turn his head away. He had never liked blood, and the events following up until now just seemed to reinforce this fear. Holding his bokken close Eri gave Chaeli a nod in return. With the two in agreement Chaeli reached up and pulled the pin from the safety position. "One... two... three!" Using her shoulder Chaeli shoved the door open, forcing it back against the wall behind it.

The couple of infected around turned to inspect the sound, but the only thing they would get to see was the glint of a steel bat heading right for them.

Craig let out a huge sneeze as he walked into the abandoned grocery store. "Ugh, there's too much damn dust around here. Somebody should fire the cleaning lady." A low rumble-like growl came from behind the shelf to the left of him. He smiled, "Oh, don't you like being critiqued on the job you're doing?" Taking the chance now, Craig squeezed the a tiny sensor in his right palm, causing the blades to slide out from withing their sheath. "One is all I'll need," he noted as he looked back at his left hand, debating on whether or not to use those blades too. He decided against it, would just be more blood that he'd have to clean off.

Calmly walking around the corner of the shelf, he saw the source of the growl. Though it wasn't the cleaning lady, it looked like when it was alive, it was a stock boy. He was quietly feasting on what might have been a squirrel at one point, but Craig couldn't make out the shape anymore. Trying to sneak up behind the infected slowly, he nudged the shelf, knocking an empty can to the ground. That was all it took. The infected quickly sprang up towards him, hurtling in the air ready to pounce. "Oh, thanks for making my job easier," he laughed as flew a strong uppercut into the infected's stomach. It wouldn't be permanent in keeping it down, but it would at least give Craig some more time.

Quickly pulling the blades out before the dead weight of the infected could snap Craig's arms off, he put one foot onto the infected's torso, punching down hard into the infected's head this time. His arm and blades now soaked in blood, Craig let out a sigh. "He was a good kid." Looking around however, he noted with a frown, "Even though he forgot to stock some paper towels for me to clean this mess up"

"I'd rather the Answers Find me..."

[[edited, aimed at your characters, Suzuki Mine, and yours, PsychoticOne, if you want to find her as well. If you can't tell, I'm very, very, Very bored. xD]]

Alyss sighed, then motioned for him to Wait. She wandered into a Bathroom, staring at the destroyed sink. With a delicate, curious look, she turned the knob, Water Spilling out quietly and onto the floor. She smirked, Leaning her head under the water and washing herself off. Her skin pale, and Eyes still yellow, She shed her tattered clothes and, after she squeezed her hair dry, Put on cleaner, normal clothing. She leaned up, to look into the mirror, and smiled a bit. She looked like she used to, as a human... Except her eyes were a different color.

She shoved her tattered rags into the back pack, and left the bathroom, staring at her nails. They were longer than a humans, and she growled, placing them into her mouth and Biting them off until they were almost completely missing. She whimpered in pain, pulling the gloves over her hands, frowning as she took a shaky breath. 'Beauty Kills.' She remembered from her human life, and sobbed lightly. She wanted her Daughter back, She just wanted her back... She wiped her eyes and stood at the head of the stairs, hidden in darkness, and peeked down at the group of people. She could only see one, A soldier, at the moment, the rest were out of eyesight. The voices were low and jumbled in their attempt to be quiet, and she said nothing, watching them.

Alyss heard a loud noise from outside, and peeked over the window frame to see a couple people rushing, killing other infected. With a frown, her curiosity peaked, and she jumped from the window, hopping from ledge to ledge, and collapsing ruthlessly onto the alley floor, just around the corner from them. She even heard a man talking to himself in the Grocery, just a wall between them. With a wicked smile, she covered her face with her hands and Sobbed, loud enough for the two people fleeing to hear her, and especially the man in the store beside her. Alyss' intentions were not to kill, oh, no, But to befriend. She planned to pretend to be a survivor, lost, and eventually blend with their people, searching for her daughter.

oooThe end of Chaeli's bat fell to the alley floor, a chorus of soft tinkles following as it bounced rapidly for a second. At her feet were the remains of what had once been a human head. For those who weren't sure what it was still, seeing as it had been beaten to a bloody pulp, all they had to do was look towards the shoulders and below attached to it. With her free hand Chaeli absentmindedly wiped away some blood spatter on her cheek. With all of the fighting she had been doing as of late, it was a wonder her stripes hadn't all turned red and black. Out of habit Chaeli readjusted the placing of her hat, and then turned to check out her twin brother. Surprisingly enough he seemed to be holding up rather well. Beside the death grip he had on his bokken and the shine of tears in the corners of his eyes, he was doing better than usual.

Turning towards him she started to say something, maybe along the lines of 'shape up and start moving'. Annoyingly enough whatever she was going to say was interrupted by a different noise. It took a moment to process for Eri, but Chaeli knew what it was right off the bat. She had heard it many times before, most coming from the young man standing nearby. Someone was sobbing. "Looks like we've got company," Chaeli seethed, rather upset by the whole thing. As she lifted her bat up for her second hand to find Eri seemed to catch onto it.

"W-Wait! It sounds like a woman crying. What if there is someone hurt out here?" Eri's duties as a gentleman made that pure-hearted optimism shine through on his face. Even with all that had happened to them, the ambushes and the close calls, this guy still believed that there were some people left outside of the fabled 'Safe Haven'. normally Chaeli would have simply brushed him off and told him to keep moving, and Eri knew this well. Too bad he had a secret weapon. Looking to his sister's face Eri poked out his bottom lip towards her, the tears that had been fought back now making sparkles within his eyes. The Eri Puppy Face. "May we please go check? Please?"

Oh, how she wanted to smack that look off of his face. Ever since he had found out she couldn't resist that look from him he started using it to every advantage. "Eri, stop it," Chaeli huffed, trying to keep her eyes turned away. "We have t' go before it gets dark. Do you wanna become zombie foo-" Chaeli stopped. Eri had moved to step in front of her once more, that face blaring at her. She paused, took a deep breath and then sighed heavily. "Fine. Two minutes, and nothing more." Instantly Eri's pouty face disappeared and his normal broad smile took its place. Without delay he spun around and started heading towards the sound. "Miss? Miss, are you okay?"

Craig had found a bag of bread and was currently eating it his clean hand. Well, at least he would've eaten bread...if it wasn't all gone. The crumbs at least offered some nourishment, and it tasted like steak on his tongue. It was growing harder and harder to find food for himself now. The "Safe Haven" was taking it all for all the fools and weaklings who couldn't survive on their own. Of course, this meant the government was sending out their own people to take everything they could. Why? Obviously to regain control, restore the power they lost when the infected took over.

Craig finished off the last of the crumbs, his stomach still growling at him. "Oh quiet you," he said with glare under his eyes. The solemn green eyes showed the fatigue growing. He really didn't want to enter the Safe Haven. He didn't need their help, he was having too much fun, but the need for food, shelter, and a nice shower were starting to consume him. "Maybe I should ju-" His words were cut off by the sounds of crying directly behind him.

He looked down at his arms, the right covered in dried blood, the left, well, the blood was starting to come off from the previous day, sort of. "I'll stick with Mr. Righty," he said with a smile, pulling the blades on his right hand out again. He slowly stalked the area between shelves, looking around. Three people, a boy and a girl who seemed to know each other pretty well from the way they were talking. Then even closer to him, a girl lay on the ground, crying her eyes out. She didn't look, well, happy, obviously. The urge to just walk away was pushing at him as he put the blades away, turning to see if he could find more food, but, Mr. Nice Guy won out today. He rounded the corner with a smirk on his face, looking at the guy who was also heading towards the girl, "Obviously not if she's crying her eyes out bub."

"I'd rather the Answers Find me..."

Alyss sniffled, Looking up with Scared, Golden eyes. Her clothing was modern, and normal, less torn up and destroyed then others clothing, and she shifted away about an inch, staring at the two men who basically surrounded her. She swallowed slowly, shaking as she wiped the tears from her face.

It took her two seconds to know what to say, so she turned to the man with a curious, worried expression. "I... D-don't understand what's... Been happening. My Boyfriend.. was Killed... My Daughter is missing." She said, forcing the words to leave her mouth, though her natural instinct was to let out a screech and tear them into shreds with her non existent claws.

oooAs the two got closer, Chaeli lagging behind a bit as she was rather annoyed with this little side quest, Eri suddenly hesitated in his step. Noticing this Chaeli looked up from in front of her feet. From around a corner another person appeared. Sporting blood patterns it wasn't a wonder Eri froze when he did. It was best to think that someone was an enemy before a friend, especially with the outbreak in effect. Expecting an attack Chaeli brought her bat into ready position, quickening her pace to place herself in between Eri and this possible threat. She would have started swinging at the guy too, if not for the fact that he spoke. Last time the two checked the undead didn't have that much intelligence. Sharing a glance the two loosened up, Chaeli lowering her bat and Eri moving forward towards the young woman.

She didn't seem very well off, if that wasn't already evident by her crying. Her clothing, though cleaner than anything they were wearing, showed signs of struggle. It was enough to wrench Eri's heart from his chest. The young man fell to his knees beside her, his hands reaching out to show her some kind of comfort. This woman had just lost her boyfriend and had no idea of where her daughter was. "It is alright, Miss. I am sure your daughter is fine." Of course his guard dropped immediately, but he wasn't completely unguarded. Right behind him a pair of guardian eyes watched over the interactions.

Chaeli was still unsure of this whole thing. Why weren't the zombies attacking this woman? She was making enough noise to attract anything nearby, and like hell the ones she took care of were the only ones in the area. There was something strange about this, Chaeli's filth senses tingling. She took her eyes from the pair for a brief second to glance towards the other guy. Pulling from her memory he reminded her vaguely of Travis, one of her crewmates. She would have stopped to stare and ask, but as quickly as she had looked away Chaeli went back to watching Eri. Travis was dead along with everyone else, she could feel it in her gut. So instead, adjusting her bat once more, Chaeli cleared her throat and spoke towards the guy. "Seen anyone else lately?" Not the best conversationalist in the world, but it was a try.

Auriex watched the blong one, but after a minute she couldn't see her, only listen. "Hmmm. Pity. I've never seen that tactic." She smiled At least I'm not the only one that can come up with a plan." What's with the combination on girls, crying, and loss of a boyfriend that makes them fall to their knees? "That's something i'll need to experiment with." She smirked and continued listening, making sure she didn't make any noise.

Alyss froze, feeling the Guy touch her gently. She stared at him, confused, but suddenly, remembered what if felt like to be accepted. "C...Can you help me? I have no idea what to d-do..." She admitted with a small sigh, standing shakily on her legs and wiping her eyes again. "I... I really have to find her, My daughter... I have no one left."

Lazarus understood what the Witch meant when she tapped the floor, and let out a growl in anticipation. He'd planned on getting at least one survivor today and hopefully it would go smoothly. Watching her leave with a whine, the Hunter glanced at the other woman, who was also leaving. Something in his mind clicked and a small wave of relief went through him. He was used to hunting alone, not in packs, so this was a lot more reassuring now.

Using Alyss's previous tactic, Lazarus crawled into one of the ventilation shafts and began working his way downward. Slowly at first as to not make any noise, but then he began moving confidently along, towards the survivors. He would not attack yet, oh no, but wait until one of them was alone. The Hunter let out a satisfied growl at his newly hatched plan and stopped moving. He'd stay in the vents in the fourth floor ceiling until the humans arrived.

Ademus rounded the corner to find a long street he kept to the sides and keep down, he knew that staying in plain sight would be the best way to attract attention from other survivors but also these zombies.
He thought to him self *what is going on here... ever since the car crash everything has gone to s**t! what has happened to these people, if they are zombies what are the extent of their ability's? is there a safe place to go? is there a goverment? or at least a body of people to group with and rebuild? am i alone?...*
so many questions he had, and no one to ask, He knew though how to survive, stay smart and clear headed, when in doubt be suspicious of every thing, be cold and direct.

He finally found a grocery store and started inward but as he got in he heard talking,he wanted to go and talk to them, but he saw they were armed he had only a sword and there were many of them, caution wins this match he looked around and found a can of beans under the selves, he silently turned to leave the store, trying not to attract attention when noticed some thing, the cashiers desk. he looked all around it and found what he had hoped for, a gun, it was a sawn off shotgun with limited ammo, he contimplated approaching the group now but decided to instead leave, bigger groups may e better but if they are limited in combat ability the may end up slowing him down, he desperatly wanted to be in a group, but his rational thought, told him to be more prepared , he left to find a car that still worked, then he would come back and pick up the other survivors.

as he left he walked nothing more then 2 feet when he noticed a girl standing with her back to him, he slowly approached her "hello?" he spun around fast, a zombie and lunged at him he hadn't time to draw his sword or his newly aquired shotgun instead he could just barely hold her off whilest lying flat on his back...
"this is bad , this is bad, this is bad!"
he managed to throw her off, she jumped straight back at him shrieking, claws drawn an all, but he had just enough time to pick up a long piece of glass, with which he sliced open her throat, she stumbled around gasping for air but also walking towards Ademus, he reacted instantly, he kicked her to the ground and straddled her, slashing at her throat with the piece of glass, blood spurting out all over him till he felt the grinding of the floor, then he grabbed her head and twisted it off, he sat there staring at her head she looked reletively human, around 15 years old. he just sat there staring.

Craig kept a his finger close on the pressure point in his palm. You could never be too cautious anymore, and if anything went wrong, he didn't to be clawed apart before he did some clawing of his own. He rolled his eyes when he saw the boy get down on his knees beside the girl and start trying to comfort her. "Stupid idiot," Craig thought to himself as he rolled his eyes at the boy. It was obvious he was letting his guard down.

It was then that he noticed a shift in the girl's stance that was with the boy. If the boy was an idiot, this girl must have been the brains between the two. She seemed completely at the ready to Wimpy's head off if she tried anything. He noticed her look in his direction for a moment, but then quickly go back to the two on the ground, her stance shifting just for a brief moment, but why? He shrugged it off.

He was about to just walk away from the whole thing, going to find some more zombies to kill, maybe make a bowling lane out of them or something. That could be fun, though a bit messy and hard to put up, it would be fun. His foot started to turn the other way when he heard Bat Girl say something. He could feel her trying to bring him into conversation. He let out a groan low in his throat. He was a loner before, but now he practically detested talking to people, if they were still alive that is. Zombie's made good conversation, though they only talked in grunts and gurgles half the time. "Just a few employees shirking on their duties," he said flatly," Don't worry, I took care of it...though we might have to bring someone else in to clean up on Aisle 5 from now on."

oooWhat sounded like a disappointed scoff escaped from Chaeli. So this guy had been to the store already? It was probably where he had come from in the first place, seeing as the building was around the same corner. Nostalgia claimed her mind for a moment as memories from before played. Her and her Crew would go there often after school, and even after that when they finished a practice session. Though she had come from a decent background, meaning she wasn't really short on cash at any time, they were still known for swiping candy bars and energy drinks. Of course this didn't sit well with the staff, but their security guards could never hustle fast enough to catch all of them. For being an introvert Chaeli sure did attract a lot of people to her side. "Always thought I'd be th' one t' knock 'em down a peg," she said aloud, not really seeming to direct it at anyone in particular.

When the woman seemed to calm herself Eri's worried expression vanished. Now was the time to smile and be as polite as possible, just like his father had taught him. Keeping his hands close, seeing that she was a bit unstable on her own legs, Eri beamed and nodded his head. "Of course we can help you! To leave such a delicate flower weeping by herself would be a crime, especially in this day and age." If it had been at all possible Eri's head would have been sprouting floating flower heads and hearts. If the zombies didn't kill Chaeli, she was sure that Eri's constant charm would be the end of her. "Where was the last place you saw your daughter? We could make a detour that way and-"

There was a soft 'thunk' that ended Eri's proposition before he could finish it. It would seem the bloody end of Chaeli's bat had somehow found its way onto the top of Eri's head. "We're not takin' any side trips," Chaeli said cooly, removing her weapon to allow her brother to nurse his stinging crown. "I said two minutes, which have been up for about an extra minute. We're movin'." Chaeli's words didn't seem to be fine with Eri, turning around to face his sister with a scowl. "Chaeli! How could you be heartless? This woman is distraught and needs our help! We cannot just leave her to fend for herself!" In response Chaeli simply shrugged, renewed her grip on her bat and stepped forward, pushing Eri away from the woman. He had turned his back to a stranger, one of the only things she asked him never to do. "It's hard enough coverin' your a**. Protectin' another crybaby would get us both killed."
