Iris keeps silent, listening to Luki's breathing and heart beat. It was entrancing and soon found herself nodding off.

Luki held back a sigh when Iris fell asleep on him. He had been hoping that she'd say something to alleviate the silence, but that didn't happen. The genie simply let her sleep, figuring he could use the time to adjust himself a bit more to the drain of magic he was experiencing.

Iris snoozes away, content. In her sleep, she nuzzles up so her head lay below his chin with her arms wrapped around Luki.

Luki didn't react to anything Iris did in her sleep, having grown accustomed to her mannerisms. He simply kept his arms wrapped around her as hers were wrapped around him. The genie didn't feel the need to to much else.

Iris smiles in her sleep, but it soon fades as a dream descends upon her. At first, it was if it was a normal day. She was going about her business with chores. Before she knew it, Luki showed up in his original form. Out of nowhere, a large hand reached out and stole Luki away from her. She had tried to reach out to him, but he was too far away. She cried out for him as she raced towards him in an attempt to free him, but it was of no use.

The moment she opened her mouth to wish for his freedom, another hand clasped over her mouth, while another snaked around her to pull her back against someone. She couldn't see who it was, but his voice sounded familiar when he attempted to sooth her. The voice was something she'd heard before, but not recognizable... This didn't stop her from crying for Luki. After a few moments, everything went black.

Iris' eyes fly open and she sits up in panic. She frantically looks around her, then notices the warm body beneath her. She scrambles away from him, staring at him in fright...but then reality kicks in and she remembers who the man is. Luki. "Luki...." She rushes over to him again and half tackles him yet again, holding him tightly, unable to stop her shaking. She didn't know how much time had passed, but she was too afraid to go back to sleep.

Almost an hour and a half had passed while Iris slept and Luki had utilized that time to adjust his body to the constant drain of magic on his body. He noticed that she jerked about in her sleep before sitting upright and scrambling away a bit. The genie sat up, ready to talk to Iris and soothe her, but she came back to him and held onto him tightly.
"What's wrong?" He asked her as he stroked her hair. "Did you have a nightmare?"

Iris nodded, "Yes...A hand reached out and took you away from me..." She holds Luki tighter, "I didn't know the man...but his voice...I've heard before." She looks up at Luki, worried. Even in her dreams she was haunted that she'd lose him.

((Alrighty. I'm off to bed. G"night! biggrin ))

Luki listened to Iris' dream, finding himself a little disconcerted by it. The hand that was stroking her hair stopped and simply rested atop her head as she looked up at him.
"It'll be okay." He said with a soft smile.
The genie knew he was lying, but if it calmed her down it didn't matter. He couldn't predict the outcome of the future any better than her, so in a sense his words were a lie.

(( Night! ))

Iris curls back up to Luki, nuzzling close, still disturbed by the dream. Sure, dreams weren't predictions of the future. She doesn't have that kind of gift. Nor would she want something like that. However, it felt good to have Luki comfort her, which did work like a charm. She smiles gently and leans against him, sighing.

Luki was glad when his words seemed to comfort Iris, however little it may have been. He didn't want her to worry too much about what would happen, especially if there was something to be done about it. The genie knew that Agustus wouldn't easily give up and that he could only hide for so long. Given his track record, he was bound to mess up sooner or later.

Iris looks up to Luki, concern filling them, "Are you sure you don't want to hide in the lamp for a while?" She could see how stressful it was on Luki for him to keep this form.

"Maybe in a little while." Luki replied with a weak smile.
He figured that he'd probably only do that when necessary, just as he had before. No need to make Iris worry more than she already did. The genie was reluctant to make any drastic changes that would make him easier to find.

Iris frowns, "But...won't it be easier if you hide?" She still thinks the best way is to just disappear for a while. Can't she just wish that Luki cannot be found by anyone unless she summons him? She can't help but feel so guilty for accidentally calling him in the marketplace. I fit wasn't for her, he'd be unknown to that man...

"Yes, in a way." Luki replied.
He paused for a few moments, carefully choosing his words before speaking again.

"But a person can only hide for so long."
Though the genie's tactic was typically to hide until the danger was over, he knew that he couldn't hide for the rest of Iris' life. He could only take staying in one place for so long, and it was never long enough if he was hiding from something or someone.

Iris sighs and holds Luki close, "I'm sorry..." She buries her face in his shoulder, "It's all because I'm so clumsy...I'm causing so much trouble for you..." What a horrible master she is. Well, not that she sees herself as a "master"...She never wants to be called his "master". It didn't seem right to her. She's not a master to anyone.
