 The year is 2020, scientists worldwide acquire the visual predictions that an asteroid with an unknown diameter will strike somewhere in the southern hemisphere of earth. The impact will cause an uproar of an dust cloud thick enough to black out the sun within an instant. The combination of lack of sunlight, heat, and radiation will cause all plant life to die off within a week, and all animal life a week following. The lack of the suns presence will cause the temperatures of earth to fall far below the negatives, and radiative mutagens to impact the ones exposed. The government had been preparing for the impact and created an underground city, known as "The Ark", below New York City, and extended throughout the entire united states Yet not everyone was permitted into the city. The government only allowed certain individuals into the city/ The only individuals permitted into the city where those unaffected by any sickness. All of the cities residents were separated into dorms, depending on age and sex, and family affairs. Everyone would continue there education, and life would have to go on. The city was to be closed for fifty years, and they would have to progress as normal as possible, even with technological advances. What the government didn't know is that there was some pre-radiation from the asteroid that was exposed to a number of the people that had already been cleared for entrance. Some were unaffected, and some were. The ones that were effected began to obtain special powers and mutations. All of them soon learned after a week in The Ark that they must hide there differences, otherwise the APS would discard them onto the dying planet. How will life progress? Will confrontations begin? Will love flourish? |

Aden awoke from a hard sleep as the sound of his screeching alarm clock clung. In a slight sleepy daze he rose himself from his cot, and quickly took his way to the restroom, cleaned himself up, and took himself out of his room. It was about four in the morning in the Ark as he walked through the extremely dimly lit streets. The manufactured street lights were on the lowest capacity as he took himself toward a small coffee shop that was open 24/7. Quickly making an order, he took his seat in a small booth, much like his daily routine every morning, and awaited his order to arrive. |

 Lea started waking up when she heard the sound of a lot of meows. She first was confused as she opened her eyes and saw cat eyes right in front of her and meowed when she looked at it. Sitting up she looked and saw a good few of cats lounging around her bed when she sat up they all stood up looking at her and meowing. A sighed came out of her lips as she rubbed her face this happened once in a while. Usually when she had nightmares which she did have a nightmare about them catching her and tossing her to the outside world. Though she has the power to create plants they wouldn't last even a minute before dieing again. Waving her hands as if they knew what she said they all left her room and getting out of her dorm room. Getting out of bed she got herself a shower before getting ready for another day of school and another day of hiding her powers. |

Aden still sitting around, gazed at his small digital watch, then took to his feet and began taking himself to school. It was about half of a miles away as he began walking. Messenger bag at his side, and eyes fixated on the floor in front of him. Aden soon arrived, about an hour early, and hast-fully took a seat on a bench in the small courtyard, took out his small book and began reading to pass the small amount of time of waiting, keeping to himself silently. |

She walked to the school since it was close to her dorm. She suspected most students were close to the school but she wasn't sure since she didn't really talk to many here. When Lea got there she had about fifteen minutes to spare, looking around she saw all the students walking closer she examined some unnoticed wondering if any of them had a power like her and how much did they have to hide it. She knew some could be like hers not shown but having to control it all the time and others shown in appearence. Lea knew about appearence because on the news it had a boy who had grown scales and could swim and they caught him and chucked him into the outside world to die. It was scary to even think of getting thrown out there and even though she felt alone in this world she'd rather be around humans then be completely alone altogether. |
