Claire walked behind him and looked around with amazement. She had never seen a halloween store this big.

"Mr.Morde?" Zak asked again looking around. "Where are you sir?" A voice came from behind Claire. "Ahh very nice choice. 18th century corset. This has seen many years." The corset was deep blue, like the ocean and had black threading. Mr.Morde himself, was as blind as the corset beutiful. His feet were barefoot and he had thinning gray hair. His clothing was earthy, a nice soft green, homemade shirt and brown riding pants. "Hello Claire. Don't call Zachery yet he can wait. What are you in this town for?"

Claire jumped when she heard the voice behind her. She turned and looked at the man. "How did you know my name? My mom needed to get away from my father and so did I thats why we moved here."

Mr.Morde nodded and said " I know a great many thing Claire. I know many many things..." His eyes flicked over her and Mr.Morde smiled. "Hello, my boy." He said as Zak walked over. "Hey Mr. Morde." Zak said, bowing lightly. "I see you found Claire. Claire this is Mr.Morde, the shopkeep here."

Claire smiled. "Hello. Its nice to meet you." She was now a little freaked out.

Zak turned to Mr.Morde and said "Mr. Morde... Do you have a present for your favortite little blood sucker?" The old man laughed and said "You know I do Zachery." He walked behind the counter and dipped below it. He reached around for a fe seconds until he pulled out a brown paper bag. Zak took the bag and looked inside. "YAY!!" he squealed softly and pulled out a few dollars. Placing them on the counter he sad "Watch Claire for a few ok? Claire stay here. I'm going to put this in the car." Zak ran out before she could say anything leaving her with Mr.Morde.

Claire stood there still kinda freaked out from earlier.

"Relax girl. I know your mother. You act just the same. You should have seen her when she met me the first time. Stood ovet in the corner shaking like a leaf in the last days of autumn."

Claire relaxed. "You know my mother?"

|

"Yes child I do. How much do you know about Zachery?" Mr.Morde aslways called Zak Zachery for some reason.

Claire was taken aback by the question. "I know that he is a vampire and that he has the sin of wrath but thats about all i know."
|

Mr.Morde nodded. "I suspected as much. If you stay with him you will have extreme goo and then tragedy to set off more." He spoke plainly, as if evryday he told someone that their life would be messed with if they were with the person they were at the moment.

Claire shrugged. "I dont think that will really happen and if it does its not like it can really get any worse than what has happened to me."

"That's what your mother said." Mr.Morde turned to the corset and flicked a spider off of it. "Naughty spider." He then went behind the counter and pulled out a skirt. It looked like the corset, the same deep blue, the same fabric. It had silver circles dangeling from the waistband moreso one one side than the other. "I will give this to you at a price like no other Free, with the corset for having walke into my shop.

Claire was confused now. "Oh umm thank you."
