Welcome to Gaia! ::

The second that the Angelg's engines started up and it's thrusters began to warm up the systems in the hanger were switched from stand by to activate. A message that was sent by the mechanic chief of the haros on the main transport was sent to the Angelg. "This is Green Haro Chief please power down you are not clear for launch" said a green haro unit in the control room of the hanger. The alarms and sensors then when nuts when the Angelg sliced through the hull of the transport. "Come on now, Aya that's not fair!" The other haros and mini haros that where docked where bouncing with their little ears flapping. They all undocked and headed to the damaged area of the hull and started working on it. "I want a raise" said one of the little ones. "That dumb hot head Locke been giving us all extra over time work ever since he came on the ship" said a Haro.

Florence was engrossed with going through the list trying to find about team the Shadow-Mirrors dubbed Knight Industries. She looks to her other monitor to see that the display of main transport the area that the Angelg had slice through. "That is so coming out of your wallet..." She then switches quickly from mobile suit mode to fighter mode. She starts her thrusters and boosters to full and started chasing Aya when she saw a two fighters orbiting above Australia. Each fighter was painted similar to each other. One was pure white with a black knight chess piece and the other was black with a white knight piece. She shakes her head as she refocuses on raching Aya. She then takes out her cellphone and using its touch screen tries to call Aya. "Hey Aya what is going on! You do know that the repairs to the hull are coming out of own wallet.

Charlie had been using the data from Florence's 'gut' to figure out that inferred trail had come form something that high in the atmosphere or orbiting around the earth. He watches as suddenly the monitor that was showing what he was working on and camera system switches to the sub monitor an the display of hanger 2 and the damaged that Angelg caused with it sword. "That is going to be an all nighter with the full Haro and Min Haros after all we have to include repairs to Locke's mobile suit." He was saying all this inside his head as he watched the clouds part as the drop ships with parts and other things landed next to the main transport.

(Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I'm having trouble with my school loan. Sucks that I can't finish my last year of college cause my family has bad credit and I can't establish my own yet. If anyone ever tells you that in America everyone has a chance to succeed and can do whatever they want if they work hard enough, scream BULLSHIT! in their faces. I'm very good at making sure I pay people back when I borrow money, but since my parents aren't, I can't go to school. And Since my credit is bad because theirs is bad, I can't get a real job either, so I can't even build credit. So yeah, equal opportunity my a**, the whole system is built so people with money can keep it at the expense of those without.

Sorry for the rant, just depressed, frustrated, and angry. I still have some time to work on getting back to school, so now I have to scour through everyone I know to find a creditworthy cosigner. It'll take be a bit longer to start posting again.)

((Same boat, man, same boat. Immigration is a lie; they let you come here, and then tell you that you can't even buy a bicycle because you have 'no credit history'. Yeah, wonder why? BECAUSE I JUST GOT HERE!))
((And don't get me started on these 'financers'. We bought a car a few weeks back through Drive Financial, and it's costing us the price of three. My dad and I have to pay 420 dollars every month until August 2012, plus another 300 to those State Farm fools because we have no' driving history'. Bah! One of these days I'll go back to India away from all this money grubbing. At least there money isn't everything and people will actually trust you without needing to get your signature on every last damn sheet of paper.))

(Yeah, I'm officially not going back to school this semester, and since I'll still only have access to the same family members again in january, if I want to go back up to school at all, I have to make $8000 between now and then.
This is one of the reasons I've always said I'm leaving this country one day and never coming back. The whole damn system is designed to make rich people money at the expense of everyone else. Everything that you need like a house and car cost way to much for you to actually pay, so you have to take out loans. Why is it that the things that you need in everyday life require you to borrow money from companies?

Anyway, this is an RP, not a public disscussion forum, so I'm gonna stop there and get back to RPing.)
(Snake, I'm gonna take your idea and have the captain of Tsoruya and Millie's ship be named Sun Li. The japanese name for the chinese pilot thing got to me, it was disgraceful to my people (I'm part chinese, believe it or not.) )

As Locke looked at the mech that Kuro and Shiro wanted him to take, he found himself a little skeptical of some of the claims they had made.
"You guys said that this...bug looking thing was fast...but I don't see anything that looks like it. I mean...it is small and I suppose its aerodynamic...but it onlu has those two thrusters in the back and nothing else, really."
Kuro and Shiro both gave smug smiles to Locke's response.
"No, the Cybuster is the fastest mech in the world today, honestly."
"You just need to try it for yourself..."
Locke sighed as he started up the machine. It seemed that the internal systems were more or less undamaged, so he wasn't having any problems. The cybuster lifted itself off the ground with extreme ease, almost like someone had turned the gravity off around it. After piloting the Gan-Duro for so long, Locke was used to the weight that came with lifting off of the ground, but the Cybuster felt light as a feather.
"So this must be an aerial combat type, huh? Lets see how fast it moves..."
Locke put the cybuster into full thrust, extecting the mech to accelerate to its full speed. What he didn't know was the cybuster reached its top speed almost instantly, and Locke was pushed back in his seat as the Cybuster became a blur darting through the sky.

Aya didn't know exactly how this person had hacked her Angelg, but she needed to at least be able to call for help if this was some sort of trap. Aya used everything she knew to unlock her com system. It took a while, but eventually, she got it. She could hear the transmission from Florence, who was following her.
"Florence! I'm not piloting it, someone's hacked my machine! I didn't think that it was possible to hack a mech, since all of the systems are internal, but its being controlled through an external source. And I can't find anything that's like a transmitter here, so something wasn't planted...anyway, I don't know who this is, but it doesn't seem like someone who'd want to kill me..."
As the Angelg continued to fly, it eventually left the sensor range of the transport, leaving Florence alone as the only one that could track Aya.

LolKitty: O.o U wer followed!? >: -( Crap! Okay, she can come too, but dont let her hurt me plz! I'm just a little kid! T.T

Aya was surprised and a little hurt. Did kid really hack into her machine like this? It couldn't be.
"Ehh...Florence, the...uhh...hacker here says she doesn't mind if you follow. I don't think this is some kind of trap..."
Just as Aya said that, she detected something moving at her at high speeds.
"Ahh! What's that!? It's to fast to be anything but a projectile..."
Aya thought her assumption was wrong, and now this 'kid' was about to shoot her down. But this 'projectile' stopped right in front of her. She saw that it was a grey, bug-looking mech.
"T-that was a mech? There's no way something that big can move that fast without breaking apart!"
Aya got a transmission from the mech.
"Ehh...sorry about that, Aya...still getting used to the controls. Well, gotta run!"
The Cybuster moved around her and continued its mad dash across the sky. Aya watched as the mech became a blur in disbeleif.
"Huh? Was...that Locke?"

Even though Tsoruya had told her to rest, Millie was slinking through the shadows of the transport, searching for something. She was on a secret mission. She had heard Sun Li speaking to someone in the hanger about plans for an upgrade to the Weiss and Alt. Even though the documents were far from top secret and she could have very well just walked into the hanger and looked at them, there wasn't any fun in that. Now there was just one last obstacle in her way; Sun Li himself. He was standing in the doorway to access the hanger, complaining about her and Tsoruya to someone through the com system.
There must be a way around him without giving away my position...but how...Hmm...
As Millie looked around, she saw an opening to the ventalation system.
Ahh...a second entrance. This will be a piece of cake...
Millie climbed through the vents, making her way to the hangar and the documents. She was right above them, just about to slip out of the vent, steal them, and retreat back to her quarters, when Sun Li and one of the mechanics walked in.
"Upper command decided instead of getting rid of those failures we call our pilots, to improve their machines! How much more of our resources are we going to waste on these foreign mercenaries!?"
"Sir, I don't really think its a waste...they really are great pilots if you look at..."
"Oh, and since when did you become a member of their fan club? Fine, you can go brief them on the upgrades, I don't feel like wasting my time with them..."
The mechanic sighed, taking the documents and heading towards Tsoruya and Millie's quarters. As he left with her target, Millie's eyes narrowed and she looked over to Sun Li.
Sunny, my arch-nemisis...You may have been victorious today, but it is I who will have the last laugh!
Before Millie could leave, however, Sun Li spotted her in the vent.
"Westwood! What are you doing in there!?"
"Uh oh..."
He pulled Millie out of the vent, obviously ticked off that she was playing around in there.
"Umm...I was...uhh...looking for my earrings! I lost them so I though maybe they were in the vents...guess I was wrong..."
"You don't wear earrings, do you think I'm an idiot?"
"Of course I don't wear earrings! How can I wear them if I lost them, huh?"

Florence long range sensor had lost the main transport as she was chasing Aya who was basically kidnapped by her mobile suit Angelg. She was happen to receive transmissions from the Angelg. "You were hacked! I thought that would be kind of impossible due your systems being internal. The most important thing is that you are all right, Aya." It took a few moments for her Gust to be able to match and pull beside the right of Aya's mobile suit. Inside her gust the lights started flashing red and sensor had also picked up something extremely fast and large heading towards Aya. "AYA!" She had also though it was a massive projectile that "kid" had sent. She was so glad that it stopped and could see that it was mobile suit. When she heard Locke's voice she got upset. "You got yourself a new mobile suit! You're still paying for the repairs of your old mobile suit, Locke!" She sighs as she stays by Aya's side, "Are you alright, I have a change of cloths in my mobile suit if you need it. Where are you going... Locke!"

Charlie who was back at the main base was loading the mobile parts and ordering the Haros units around. He worked on Locke's old mobile suit with quite detail into his work. The parts that came helped to push up the time on completion of the repairs. Charlie had monitors that showed the what each haro units where doing. In anger Charlie grabs a wrench and chucks it at one of the haro nail it in the head denting it. "Take pride in your work, I want to see pride in your work as well as speed.

The Haro cursed as it was hit with the wrench but turns around and reworks on the section of that it was working. "Geez talk about a**l retentive about machines and mobile suits. The welding was only off by a slight at the most."

Aya's Angelg continued flying, going over the seas at the edge of the battle area. She had almost left the area when she spotted a ship in the water. The ship looked like a small repair boat, outfitted to handle medium-sized mechs. On the deck was one mech, seemingly without power. On top of the head was a young girl, no more than 13 years old. She had a hand-held computer in one hand, and waved happily at Aya and Florence as they grew closer and eventually landed on the boat.
"Hi! I haven't introduced myself yet, huh? My name is Katherine Meadow, but everyone just calls me Kitty! So, Ms. Saghnally, I know you have to go back to fighting and everything, but like I said before, I have something REALLY important to tell you! I was...err...kinda hacking into the UEF database, and..."
As soon as Aya heard that she had hacked into the UEF's computers, she was filled with disbelief and apprehension. If this girl really could do something like that, she was definitely amazing...but hacking into the UEF was a major crime as well.
"Wait a second...you're telling me that you hacked into the UEF's main database? There's...no way you could! You're just...a kid! And, that's a major offense, nobody would actually admit to doing something like that...I know I sure never did..."
"Hey, I don't have much choice! Since my daddy died and my mommy got sick, I've had to make money to look out for my family. I don't mess with anything, I just look at all the data on the participants in the tournament and use my battle simulator to see who would win and sell the info to people. Just making a few bucks helping rich people get richer...but that's not important! When I was going through the data on your team, I found out about that system you use, the Xepher system...it was interesting, so I did some more research...and I found out a lot. It was based off of a system my father created, the Doll system. The Doll system was my father's last project. It was supposed to be a system that could control a mech remotely without the lag or over-simplicity of controls that are normally associated with such remote control. Each mech would almost be able to think for itself. The only problem is that the system still needs some kind of human input, my dad watched enough sci-fi movies to know not to make a legion of artificially intelligent giant killing machines. But, since you still needed a pilot for the input, the UEF found that it was unnecessary and canceled the project. Well, some group called the shadow mirrors funded the construction of the Xepher system to connect to the Doll system. The Xepher system allows a computer system to feed data directly into the pilot's mind, in a sense controlling the pilot. If you put both of those together, whoever can control the central Xepher control system can control all the pilots using Xepher systems in their mechs! They'd have their own personal army! And you'd be someone's expendable soldier! "
Aya was speechless. It all made sense, but it couldn't be. From what she knew, that couldn't be what was going on.
"But...My Xepher system is the only one...developed by Canada in order to help them win the tournament...There's no central system or other copies..."
Kitty sighed and shook her head. Aya really didn't know anything.
"Do you really think that your people thought a person with no training whatsoever could carry a nation that has never grown close to winning to victory? No, they just wanted you to get in enough fights for them to collect data from your opponents. Your system was just uploading data to their central database, and once they have enough data, you'll be expendable to them. And, these guys have plenty of Xepher systems already installed in their mechs, they're just waiting for you to finish your job for them. So, if you go back to fighting in that mech, you'll be hurting yourself, plus, I'm pretty sure they're building an army to take on the UEF, so you'd actually be putting everyone in danger..."
Kitty stepped forward, seeming to walk off her mech's head, but somehow, the mech raised its hand, allowing her to step into it, and then lowered her to the deck of the ship. It was like the mech had a mind of its own.
"Since this was so serious, I did a lot of research on it, and I found the files of a mech that your father was working on. He had even started building it, but he only got to the frame...I got it and tried to finish it..."
Aya's eyes shot open.
"What? You...found my father's Valsion!? But...It was destroyed during a lab accident!"
"Yeah, it was in pretty bad condition when I found it. It took a lot to finish it, I had to deviate from the original design a little...well, more than a little...but this version's prettier anyway...and its equipped with a Xepher system that isn't connected to their central system, so you'll be able to pilot it."
Aya was interested to see her father's machine completed, and if what Kitty was saying was true, there was no way she could pilot the Angelg again. She followed Kitty as she entered the enclosed hangar area of the boat. When she saw the completed machine, she was startled, to say the least. She remembered her father's final plans exactly, and it was nothing as...girly as this. The mech was feminine in shape, and it had a human-like face, and even long, flowing pink hair. It looked more like a giant girl in a metal suit than a robot.
"Aya, let me introduce you to the Valsione! I did a lot to make it not boring-looking like most other mechs. So, what do you think?"
"Ehh...it's...umm...cute..."

((Wow, Snake, and anyone else going through financial difficulties, I suggest you watch 'The Pursuit of Happiness', a movie starring Will Smith. Its a really powerful movie that really speaks to you...brought me to tears, actually. And Anyone without any financial problems of their own, watch it anyway. It really shows you about life on the other side of the poverty line...))
((Okay, I'm gonna try to get some people involved here...unfortunately, snake, you took your team out of the combat area so nobody can really reach the Zodiacs right now, and Terugi seems more of the guy to show up than be found, so you can have him show up around any of my characters, but I just don't see them running into him.))

Locke was continuing his aerial maneuvers, getting fully used to the Cybuster.
"Woohoo! This thing controls so great! And you guys say that it needs repairs?"
Kuro turned to him, seemingly unaffected by the high-speed travel.
"Well, there are some systems that aren't functioning, but for the most part, its still in good shape. It's just not in perfect condition yet."
As Locke slowed the Cybuster to a stop, he let it touch down on the ground. He used the mech's computer to link up with the UEF's systems. He had to let them know he was switching mechs, didn't want to get himself disqualified.
"...Okay, they've sent the confirmation. Now, lets find an opponent and try this baby out in some real combat!"
Shiro was uneasy, he didn't like Locke charging into battle with no backup.
"Don't you think you should meet up with your teammate before you start fighting?"
"Nah. Her mech's busted anyway, needs to be repaired. And I'm fast enough to get away if I get into any trouble, so what's the problem? And look at that, I have a victim already..."
The Cybuster's sensors were picking up something; a mech from Japan. Locke opened a com channel to Zetsumi.
"Hey, my computer says you call that thing the 'Demon' Gouf...trying a little to hard to be intimidating, huh? So, Mr. Japanese pilot, you aren't afraid of fighting a lowly Canadian rookie pilot, are you?"

(I've updated Locke's profile, just to let people know.)
((Hey, I grew up near the Panchalguda slums, so I know what the other side looks like. The second largest slum in all of Asia, and... I have no words for it.))
((But that aside, let's get back to the thread. The Zodiacs are out of touch for a reason, and they'll be back in the game soon enough. This post is an optional read; it has nothing related to the overall RP, but represents important character development for my people. Read at your leisure.))

"Urhhh... I think I drank too... much.." Nicolai wheezed, leaning against the Plataea's inner bulkhead and dropping his head into his hands.
"You had two beers. Two." Walde replied, sounding decidedly amused.
"I donn't drink much, alright? Leave me alone." Nicolai protested, shaking his head vigorously.
The team had been out on the town for almost eight hours, soaking up rice dishes, alcohol and smoked chicken at the local restaurants. It had been a fine idea in theory, but Nicolai simply wasn't used to drinking so much. The sun had set hours ago, and Beijing's night life had jumped into gear. Cars blazed past the spaceport and bright spotlights came on, illuminating the sleepless city. To Nicolai, all they did was accentuate his headache.
"I told you not to drink anything." Arjay reminded him. The doctor never touched alcohol, and had suffered Walde's and Allad's taunts gladly.
"Leave me alone, velchin. You've got work to do anyway." Nicolai replied harshly, taking a few shaky steps further inside the shuttle.
Walde laughed.
"This'll be your first hangover, I'll bet. It's actually quite a sweet feeling, once you get used to it." Allad commented absently as he unslung his rifle and put away his sidearms. The heavily armed Westerner had drawn more than a few stares from the Chinese residents of Beijing, stares that Allad had responded to in kind.
"Drunken men. Always a sight, right?" Jenny asked cheerfully, putting her arm around Zuka's shoulders. Zuka said nothing. She hadn't drunk anything either.
Nicolai was having trouble thinking. He opened his mouth, exhaled foul smelling breath and then wobbled toward his quarters. The doors parted to allow him access and then whizzed shut behind him. A short while later, a loud thump implied something heavy had hit the floor.
"Poor guy. You shouldn't have made him take in so much." Allad said to Walde, staring after Nicolai.
"Come on! He had two beers!" Walde protested.
There was a brief moment of head shaking before unspoken consensus seperated the group. Jenny and Zuka left for their own quarters while Arjay set off toward the cargo bay, mumbling to himself about the mammoth task awaiting him. Allad and Walde glanced at each other.
"I'm getting some sleep. How 'bout you?" Allad asked.
"Eh, I'll stay up a while longer. The lateral dive fin is being sticky and I want to look over it." Walde replied with a shrug. Allad was a total stranger to matters electrical and simply shrugged before departing for his own room.
Walde hummed a quiet tune to himself before walking over to the cockpit of the Plataea. The night was just beginning for him...
-------------------------

Half an hour later, a shadowy figure departed the Plataea, moving quickly and purposefully. As if on a matter of principle, the dark figure avoided the pools of illumination that dotted Beijing's streets. A few twists and sharp turns brought the shrouded man to the back alleys of the city, quiet and deserted except for an occasinal stray dog that growled at the figure's passing.
Walde stopped in front of a nondescript apartment building, fourteen stories high and built of out old fashioned concrete brick. It was the sort of place the only two types of people inhabited; the very poor or the very private. Walde's target was the latter. He brushed his hand against the pistol at his side; there was comfort in having a weapon on hand. Walde strode inside briskly and glanced around the entrance lobby; the lightbulbs within had burned out long ago, but he could still make out the graffiti on the walls and the broken elevator.
Taking the stairs two at a time, Walde jogged up to the sixth floor, occasionally stopping to consult a sheet of paper that he'd pull out of his pocket. He was on track.
Apartment number 49 was his destination, and the wooden door seemed ordinary enough. There was no doorbell; whoever lived within had no cause to expect visitors. Walde reached out and tapped on the door with his knuckles three times quickly. There was no response. He waited a few seconds before tapping on the door again, and then again.
This time, there was a reply. After some brief shufling, five more knocks sounded from inside the apartment. Walde smiled to himself as he knocked one last time, and then stood back as the door was swung open.
The man standing opposite him was clearly into his final years; a stooped back and greying hair spoke of many years of hard work. The man was clearly not Chinese; deep set eyes and flattened ears spoke of a different ancestry. The old man peered up at Walde with grey colored eyes, his mental workings almost visible on the outside.
"Who are- wait... it's... you!"
Walde sprung forward like a coiled snake. His shoulder rammed into the old man's chest, knocking him back into the apartment. As Walde followed him in, his foot latched on to the door, pulling it shut behind him. His other hand went ot his pistol and out came the dull colored killing tool. The barrel pointed itself at the old man now wheezing of the floor in front of Walde.
"Traitor." Walde intoned venomously.
The old man's eyes were starting to tear up as he rubbed his sore chest.
"Hah... haha... you made it... you made it."
"On my own! I made it on my own!" Walde almost shouted, his grip tightening on the gun.
"You left me to die! I- we- trusted you, Argax! You traitor!"
Argax- the old finally had a name, it seemed- managed to push himself up into a sitting position.
"You offered to stay and hold the Celestial Guardsmen back, Llondel. You said you'd do it, and I-"
"I didn't expect you to leave me to those hounds!" Walde cut him off, eyes widening in rage as old memories flooded back.
"I thought you would-"
"That I would what? That I'd put Meira, Jansen and Kozaci at risk just for you? We were pirates, Llondel. You know what the Celestial Guardsmen would have done if they got us." Argax answered.
"Don't take their names! I saw the news! The Celestials got them all! What, you sold them out too?"
"I sold no-one out! The Celestials had all our safehouses identifited. After that battle, we retreated to Macedon. Two days later, we had Celestials breaching our hideout. Everyone thought you'd cracked and told them-"
"Liar!" Walde- Llondel- snapped.
"After you four got out, I managed to shoot my way clear of the Celestials. I hit two; I think one died. One of their entry mechs was unoccupied and I got hold of it. I... ran with it and made it to Thespia with the Celestials all over me."
"And? How did you get out?" Argax asked.
"I was the best pirate raider in space. I slipped them and got clear." Llondel answered with the shadow of a grin appearing on his face.
"I thought I could get back in touch with you- with the rest of the crew, but it was on the news. Pirate safehouse raided; one arrested and two dead."
"I know. I was there. They... they came for us, Llondel. Jansen and Meira died during the raid. Kozaci they wounded and dragged off in restraints."
Llondel's face seemed to melt, his features losing their hard edge.
"No..."
"I'm sorry. I know how you felt about Meira-"
"You don't!" Llondel growled, raising the gun again.
"Why are you here? Why didn't you die with them? Did you leave them behind like you left me?!"
"I wasn't in the safehouse when the raid happened. There wasn't much I could do, so I came here. To Earth."
"You came here to hide, you coward!"
"Yes, I did! What of it? You think I wanted to die?"
"I'm going to kill you, 'boss'. I've lived to do this, ever since you left me to die eleven years ago."
"Do it, then. You've heard me out, and now you do whatyou think is best." Argax lay down on the hard, cold floor and shut his eyes, his expression going serene. Llondel could only stare, his rage burning and aching within him. Finally, as if of it's own accord, he felt his trigger finger pull back twice.
But there was no loud bang. Instead only a silent whisper as the silenced pistol put forth two metal slugs that tore their way through Argax's chest and face, killing him instantly.
Llondel stayed where he was, staring at the face of his old captain, his old friend from an age of priacy and robbery now long gone. Tears came to his eyes as he remembered his old comrades, lost now to the darkness. Had they been afraid when they had died? Would they approve of the revenge Llondel had brought?
Meira. Llondle was shocked to realize that he could barely remember what she looked like, only her racous laughter.
He allowed that sound to replay itself in his mind over and over again as he stood before the corpse of his hated foe, asking himself questions that stung him more than any bullet ever could...
