Nex grinned as his wrist blade connected "You told us not to go easy yourself, so we didn't" he said grinning, looking over at the inferno engulfing Lucien "Having fun?"

Lucien laughed "O yea, I was meaning to go to the Sauna" he said as the fire started charring the armor, but what it was made of took a much higher temperature to melt "I gotta love the fact we train in the Desert, the AC comes in handy" he said as he startedd his mech off towards the water, he was going to put the fire out. "You can take care of her for a few minutes" As he moved towards the water his mech started becoming harder to move "what the" he looked at the status screen, the limbs were starting to fuse together "Crap!" he scowled, he was only a short distance from the water, and the flames were continuing to burn the mech, "Just great, stuck in a sticky situation" he tried to pick himself off the seat, which was starting to melt

Nex grinned, turning to the girl. "heh, your not going to escape me with that invisibility cloak" he said as he started messing with the controls to the mech, an infrared screen appearing in front of his sight moniters, making it able to see her heat sources "Because you can't hide your heat signatures" he grinned as he started charging at her again, two of his four gun turrets unfolding from the back of the mech and starting to fire at her while he charged

(Lucien can't just shrug off my most powerful attack like nothing just because he has heavy armor. I told you the heat was enough to weld your mech's joints shut, it isn't just some normal flames.)

"Was I talkin' to you, punk? If you wanna live long, keep out of UEF business and go back to worrying about your fight!"
Tsoruya didn't seem to stir as Katina came with her harsh response, he was used to it from her. Though she usually was harsh, the fact that she was so quick to get defensive to Nicolai's question meant only one thing.
"So, that means you didn't get her,,,and she's still on the loose. That why you're getting so frustrated?"
Katina angrily turned her head away, more frustrated that Tsoruya figured it out.
"Tch, like I said, that's official UEF business, and doesn't concern you! Though if you would have accepted the offer to join my Octo squad instead of staying a merc, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Most of the idiots I got stuck with aren't even worth it!."
Katina now turned back to Tsoruya, giving him a sly look.
"Speaking of your merc status, your reputation's definitely gonna take a blow for this. Eliminated so early in the tournament, its a disgrace. I bet that offer to join the Octo squad is looking pretty good now, huh?"
"Oh, your not going to let me be eliminated just yet. It wouldn't be as bad for me as it would be for you..."
Katina seemed confused as to his response. She figured it had to be some kind of trick to get himself back into the tournament, but she knew Tsoruya wasn't the type to do that.
"What are you talkin' about?"
Tsoruya calmly went over to sit on one of the pieces of the Weiss.
"My elimination would make news for a different reason. Attacked by an unregistered fighter that eluded the UEF patrols and eliminated from the tournament because of it. Its true that the rules say you are eliminated if your mech is damaged beyond repair and does not say that a enemy attack has to be the cause of the damage, but the UEF would definitely catch a lot of flak because of it. Spectators, gamblers, and the whole Chinese Union government would be in an uproar. And the UEF bigwigs are going to have to use someone as a scapegoat, and what better target than the Octo squad, the ones that let this unknown fighter past them?"
Katina was at a loss for words. He was exactly right and she knew it, and as the Octo squad's leader, she would take the brunt of the blame for it all.
"W-wha? B-But I..."
"Don't worry though, Lieutenant, I'm willing to help you out, since you're such a good friend. The Chinese Union created more than one pair of our mechs, and I can have them sent here. If you make sure we aren't eliminated, we can keep on fighting like this never happened, and you won't need to be thrown to the wolves...Plus, if that person comes back, I can take care of her..."
It was hard to tell if Tsoruya just wanted to get back into the tournament, or if he really was looking out for Katina, his cool stare was difficult to analyze. However, Katina knew she had been beaten.
"...Damn you, Tsoruya, you sly b*****d! Hmph, I guess I don't have much of a choice now, do I? Fine, get you new damn mechs..."
Nicolai seemed unperturbed at Katina's rage. He'd dealt with angry contractors during mining operations before, and she couldn't bring anything worse than they did.
"Jhora cailin." He muttered snidely.
"Mosu, pen?" Zuka's voice cut in. She sounded quite peeved.
"Kul, ger vel!" Nicolai answered quickly.
There was a 'harrumph' noise from Zuka's side and then silence. Nicolai chuckled to himself and returned his attention to the others.
Katina had already proven herself to be quite an easily annoyed person, and he just now noticed her multi colored eyes, so very much like Zuka's own abnormality. He decided to give her a wide berth.
"So how long will it be before you get your replacements in? I'd love to get my own fixed up if we can resume where we left off, and she needs time to recover." Nicolai waved first at Millie and then at the Hoplite, indicating the ugly looking hole in it's shield. He considered the damage with an appraising eye, now colored by the fact that he was fighting a tournament legend. Did that make it any different?
No, I guess not. If I didn't know who he was, I'd still take him on. Having a name makes no difference.

"I never said don't go easy on me, I never wanted this fight in the first place! I just told you to stop underestimating me!"
As Aya tried to dodge out of the way of the fire from Nex's turrets, hoping her invisibility would help her lose him, she noticed the shots still hitting her accurately.
"Tch, following my heat signature...smart move...and I'm just about out of tricks..."
Aya knew that this battle was at its end. There was little more that she could do but fire away and hope to hit them before they could destroy her. The smartest thing to do would be to surrender now so she didn't risk getting severely injured or worse, but she knew the fate that would befall her little brother if she did such a thing...however, as she was contemplating her choices, she noticed the pillar of fire still surrounding Lucien's mech.
"Oh my god, why is that still burning!? T-The output must have been too high...your partner's life is in danger!"
No longer even thinking about the battle, Aya sped her Angelg as quickly as she could towards Lucian. Flying right into the inferno, she rammed into his mech's back, sending them both into the water. Flying through the flames with the damage she had already taken did quite a number on the Angelg. Its white and pink design was charred beyond recognition, and in many places, the metal armor was melted down to uselessness. It wasn't destroyed yet, though it was nowhere near ready to continue fighting.
"My systems are failing, but at least the temperature's down...Hey mister, are you alright?

Nex grinned, sitting back in his mech "that wasn't a very good mech" he watched as she rammed Luciens mech, sending him into the water "wow, you put the heat out and now hes going to drown" Nex and Lucien had always had a pact when they were in their mechs, which was not to interfere unless asked. So he was just going to sit there waiting

Lucien scowled, he was now sitting under water watching the water engulf his mech "Great I'm going to drown instead of burning" he sighed, the mech wasn't built for the water. He hit a combination of buttons causing his rockets to turn on, slowly lifting him out of the water and slamming into the ground, Lucien flopped out like a fish as he gasped for breath. He looked at the Angelg "That thing had some terrible armor on it" he said grinning, letting the Xen start draining.
Nex floated over to the Xen and climbed out of his cockpit, holding two bottles of Coke and tossing it to his brother "that was a good battle" he said as they did a toast. The brothers had the pops gone quickly and looked at the enemy mech again "In this contest you can't avoid a battle" Nex said with a happy tone.

(Pfft, legend? All he did was come in second in a tournament, and he just so happened to be 17. Nicolai's definitely one of those guys who hero worships athletes, isn't he?)
"How long? Shouldn't be too long, isn't that far of a flight from China to here..."
Tsoruya activated his com link to his transport, a surprise to everyone on board who had been left in the dark as to their pilot's location and condition.
"Come in Peregrine, this is Oni. I need you to make a call to my friend in the C.U. Tell him to drop the third package just outside the tournament border. And keep it quiet, a good friend of mine is going to take some serious flak if word of this gets out..."
Once he was finished, Tsoruya once again cut the communication to his transport.
"They'll have the mechs out there in a few hours, now the only question is how to get to the tournament's border line without a transport...Ours can't go across water, and It would take a lot of time to find it, being on foot and without radar..."

(She wasn't going to let you drown, that's why she took the extra damage and followed him into the water, to pull him out of it. Plus, being an engineer, she wouldn't dream of another engineer that was stupid enough to design a mech that wasn't water-tight, especially since mechs are heavy and tend to sink in water. Usually, its more likely for it to be crushed by the water pressure than the pilot drowning.)

As Aya exited her Angelg, it was clear that the battle had taken a toll on her. She seemed exhausted, and was still catching her breath, since she was holding it the whole time she tried to save Lucien. Lucien and Nex would definitely take some time taking a look at the pilot they had just faced; her mostly skin tight, white and pink flight suit showed off her finely shaped body.
"Why are the both of you sitting here criticizing my mech!? If I would have been a better pilot and actually had my partner, the battle would have gone much differently!"
Turning her head to look at the Nex and Xen, she gave them a quick look. She couldn't believe that they were bashing her Angelg with the piece of crap that Lucien had.
"The fast mech, that one is an excellent design and is properly built for speed and the ability to attack quickly, but this other one? If you're building a heavy mech, just throwing on a lot of armor and a lot of weapons doesn't accomplish anything! Nowadays, weapons are so powerful that no amount of metal can withstand them for long. You either need reinforced Keratium, so you can keep some speed and still get the defensive power, or some kind of energy barrier to soften the blow further. And all those shell weapons are just going to have their ammunition ignite and explode within the weapons if they happen to take too much damage from a weapon that produces enough heat! Having less weapons is much smarter and cost effective. And your cockpit isn't even air tight! If a fight got drawn into the water, you'd be all but useless, and most of your weapons wouldn't work anyway! Plus, all the electronics probably have water damage now...Whoever designed that mech, they definitely weren't thinking about all the variables when they planned it!"
Aya showed that she had a lot to say when it came to the mech's design. She seemed visibly upset just looking at the Xen as it was draining the water that had filled its systems.
"And saying my Angelg has terrible armor shows your lack of knowledge of mech design. My mech isn't made to take direct hits, its made to be mobile and confuse enemies with its illusions. My partner's mech is the one that's meant to take damage, and its constructed much better than yours, and I can attest to that. I happen to be an expert in the field..."
Aya realized how much she had said and how disrespectful she was being to the both of them and their mechs, and instantly felt sorry about it. They may have started it, but she knew she was above insulting someone else's machine. Plus, all that could lead to would be them getting angry at her.
"Umm...sorry about that. When it comes to mech design, I tend to say more than I should. Sorry..."

(Lol for product placement! And you say pop! Where I'm from, everyone says soda, but when I got to college a few years ago, I learned that a lot of america says pop. It still sounds weird to me, though...)

((What? Nick's new to this! And what would you do if you were fencing someone and when he took off his helmet you found yourself looking into the face of Lucien Gaudin?!))

"Yeah, it always looks like a long walk from down here." Nicolai agreed. He'd always seen Earth as a tiny blue sphere from the blackness of space, and the concept of distance was almost always forgotten from that angle. But the most obvious solution sprang to mind instantly.
Zuka must have gotten the same idea.
"We don't have the room, En." Her voice warned, crackling out of Nicolai's pilot suit radio.
"We can stuff these two in there." He replied calmly. Nicolai glanced back at Tsoruya and then at Millie.
"Tell you what: You give us specific co-ordinates and we'll fly you two to your drop-off point. Once you get your mechs, you can take off and we'll pick up where we left off. It'll also give us time to rearm and patch up. Our shuttle can handle any distances you give us, and to be honest, I'd like to have my team's doctor examine her." He gestured at Millie.
"I know my stuff, but Dr. Arjay's one of the best medicine men in space. Expert opinion counts, right?" He stopped for a moment and cast a sideways stare at Katina.
"And I assume the UEF won't have a problem with that... hm?"
The transport had been flying in stealth mode with only two engines operational at 20%. Because the transport was in stealth mode the weapon defense systems were off line. The transport shook when it was grabbed by Luicen’s mobile suit. It was forced to touch down and land. Alarms blared throughout each section of the ship and the ship was in red alert. More than a hundred Haros in their little mechs where quickly booted up. They all moved into position quickly.

((Yup Florence and Charlie transport has Haros that work threw out the transport.))

((Florence’s transport image)) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/blazingeagle/250px-Jade_Shadow.jpg

Charlie was going to say something to Aya but failed to do so before she took off in her mobile suit. He watched as small army of green Haros in their mech worked on his damaged extremities. He pushes away from the catwalk and heads up to Locke’s mobile suit's cockpit. He reached in and turned the switch to open the cockpit and got inside. He pressed a black colored button on his wristwatch. He climbed slowly inside the cockpit and using his tools opens the main panel of the control panel. He installs a portal for one of the Haros to dock into the control panel and start the normal flight check.

The Black Haro’s eye lights up purple and he flaps his little panels. “Charlie, Charlie!” he says as he quickly sucks in his snake camera and flies from the Haro network system and flies inside and is quickly transported to the hanger. It flies into Locke’s mobile suit. It docks into the one that Charlie had set up. The Black Haro actives the mobile so Charlie could fly it. “ETA to Aya would be 45 minutes at max power.”

Florence had heard the alarms in her shower and quickly got out wrapped a towel around her body. She grabs a hand radio and orders the couple of Haro to load her Gust with senser emitters instead of the normal laser emitters in the mega cannons. She runs past the knocked out Locke and tells her White Haro to use method #23 to awake the pervert idiot after she left the ship. She runs into the hanger and climbs into her mobile suit.

Sliver had disengaged from the cockpit of the transport letting the White Haro to take control and waited in the archer. “I had the Haros switch from Gust armor mode to Arios. ETA to Aya is less then a 3 minutes.” It had opens the side hanger doors. “Locke’s mobile suit has launched. Charlie’s friend or foe is being sent by Black Haro.”

Florence hovers over the water in her mobile suit, she watches Charlie arrive to the seen in couple of moments. "Aya are you alright why did you leave with out me."

Charlie waits and watches Florence actions.

(Eagle, they're all out of their mechs now, so it wouldn't be a good idea to start shooting.)
(And I love the pic of the transport)

Katina turned around, moving back towards her gespenst.
"The UEF doesn't give a damn whether you guys want to hold hands and be friends or not, there's no rule against teaming up. Now, the lot of you are makin' me sick, so I'm outta here..."
Standing up, Tsoruya walked over towards Millie, getting ready to carry her to the transport.
"It will probably be better to hold our fight later in the tournament, when the cameras are rolling. Maybe you and your partner can get famous off the fight..."

Aya could hear Florence through her suit's com. Looking up, she could see Florence and Charlie arriving.
Well, someone finally came...better late than never, I suppose...
This was actually quite advantageous for Aya. She had just realized with her suit in no condition to fight, these two could very well destroy it and knock her out of the tournament, but with Charlie and Florence there, that wouldn't be happening.
"I'm sorry, Florence...I didn't know where in the ship you were, I didn't really want to fight, I was just trying to tell these two we weren't going to fight them, but then they attacked me...though that's not really llegal or anything, now that I think about it...Why didn't I just answer from inside the transport? Man, I'm such an idiot..."
Aya started trailing off at the end, talking to herself, but forgetting she was still speaking out loud and over the com...

((Hmmm... True.))

"Whatever. We're not in it for the fame." Nicolai replied with a nonchalant shrug. He tapped his radio once more, fiddling with the wavelenght dials until he had latched on to the Plataea.
"Plataea, this is En. Confirm your status."
"Plataea here. We're wondering what happened to the cable TV service." Walde replied.
"The V droids are de-mining, and we're putting our fight on hold for now."
"With the China guys? But you blasted them!"
"No we didn't."
"They've crashed, you're standing, right?"
"Academic point. Anyway, can you see us? Pack up and get down here. We need a lift and... Yu neroti arpande."
"Gurn zig. Ozu sawet?"
"Ferp."
There was silence from the Plataea's side, but shortly thereafter came the deep thrumming noise of a large, fast moving body. Nicolai glanced out at the horizon, then consulted a portable data tablet which was beeping at him.
"They're coming." He announced, reading the information being displayed.
"Landing zone is about a mile that way." He pointed at a large clearing a short distance to the group's left.
"Wait here. I'll have a V droid give you a lift." He offered, before climbing up and back into the Hoplite. A moment later, one of his Vigilante droids detached and rolled over to Tsoruya, offering it's back as an impromptou transport vehicle.

((To save time, I shall assume that Tsoruya and Millie climb aboard. Or that he refuses and decides to heroically drag his partner across a mile of Australian Outback to prove his strenght. Doesn't change much, yes?))

The trip to the landed Plataea was a short one; Tsoruya and Millie were ushered in through the crew entrance while the Hoplite and Olympus trooped up the loading ramp into the cargo hold.
Allad, Jenny and Arjay were waiting for the two Chinese fighters to come in, forming a semi circle around the entrance airlock. Allad had even armed himself with a rifle and at least three knives.
Almost as soon as Tsoruya entered, Allad stepped up to him, blocking his path with his burly frame. Suspicion was scribbled all over his weathered face.
He glared at Tsoruya for a half second before extending his arm toward him, palm raised. He wasn't looking for a handshake, he was ordering him to stop.
"Welcome to the Plataea." He offered slowly, taking a quick look at Millie's still dazed face.
"I'm Allad. Chief of security. Behind me are Jenny and Arjay. Pilot's up front; his name's Walde. You've met Nicolai and Zuka." He pointed at Jenny and Arjay in turn, both of whom nodded politely.
"As a precaution, I'm going to want your hardware. Guns and weapons. Both of you. You'll get everything back when you get off... I'm sure you understand." His narrowed eyes and tensed posture revealed that he was not going to care very much if Tsoruya did not understand...

((I suppose I should have shown this sooner, but behold the Plataea!))
