The year 2400, and the human race's capacity for war had grown exponentially. Counters had been created for all means of long-range warfare, and battles were forced into close-combat skirmishes. This was the rise of the use of mechs, which with the right pilots, could be more devastating than the most powerful tank while maintaining the evasiveness and maneuverability of a foot soldier. Soon, people were replaced on the battlefield for these machines and their pilots, and many different variations of machines emerged. These mechs, however, dealt untold amounts of damage to the planet's ecosystem, and the whole earth was on the path to becoming uninhabitable. The various nations on earth had no choice but to join eachother to stop the fighting and work towards reconstruction. They formed the United Earth Federation, and the focus now became restoring the planet. However, many things were left unsolved by this; many nations who were bitter enemies were forced into an uneasy friendship, disputes about borders were left held off, but not forgotten, and many of the pilots and mech-builders, the ones who were the most necessary during the war time, had now become obsolete.

In order to fix these problems, the UEF started a tournament. Every five years, each nation in the UEF would send the best two pilots they could find with the best two mechs they could build to fight for them. The winner of this tournament would become the head nation of the UEF with the power to settle any dispute within the UEF, as well as create new laws and policies for the UEF. For 100 years, this tournament played out, with the position of head of the UEF jumping from nation to nation each tournament.

Now, the year is 2500, and it is the beginning of the 20th tournament. Once again, the nations of the world has called out for the elite pilots that can pilot their machines, and the engineers who design, build, and maintain them...
Rules
- All Gaia rules apply. Any in violation will be reported.
- No Auto-hitting/Godmodding. Nobody's invincible, and even the best take some damage from time to time
- You are not allowed to kill a character without permission from either that person or me
- This is a literate RP. Frequent one-line posts will not be accepted. I understand that people get writer's block at times, just try to keep one-liners to a minimum. However, always try to give others something to go off of in their responses.
- Romance is allowed and encouraged, but keep it to a PG 13 level. Any in violation of this rule will be reported.
- Use some method to denote OOC speech. Any method is valid, as long as it is easy to tell what is OOC and what isn't.
- Try to be as descriptive in your posts as possible, and try to be realistic. You can't evade bullets unless you give a damn good reason.
-You are allowed to use any mech from any mecha series, as long as it isn't too large in size (I.E. no macross city or Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann)
- PM your character profile to me and wait for me to respond before you start posting. All profiles should be titled SRW
- You are allowed as many characters as you can handle. If you make too many and cannot handle them all, you will have to kill off some or otherwise remove them from the story.
- Each character can have only one mech at a time, but you are allowed to swap machines only with my approval
- Everyone is required to be an active poster. This means you must post at least three times a week, unless you clear it with me. The first time you fail to do this and do not tell me, you will be warned. After that, you will be banned.
- I will try to be fair and considerate to everyone, but I am the master of the game and all must abide by my decisions.
Rules of the Fight:

1. The battlefield consists of the Australian continent and the ocean up to a distance of 20 miles off of its coasts. Any combat conducted outside of this zone will result in an immediate disqualification for all parties involved.

2. Each nation is allowed two mechs and two pilots. Though alliances may be forged on the battlefield, a single nation's numbers may never exceed this number. Pilots killed or mechs destroyed in battle may not be replaced. Mechs may only be swapped mid-tournament after the original is checked out by a UEF official to make sure it is still in working order.

3. Once one enters the battlezone, exiting it results in an immediate disqualification.

4. Though there is no rule forbidding it, pilots are encouraged to avoid direct attacks on an enemy's cockpit.

5. Attacking a surrendering enemy or a pilot not in a mech is strictly forbidden.

6. When a participant is unable to continue combat, due to the status of their mech or physical health issues, or the pilot's death, they are eliminated from the tournament.

7. Squads of UEF mechs will patrol the area to enforce the tournament rules and protect from any outside interference. They may be approached about any concerns. Under no circumstances should they ever come under attack from a combatant. The combatant will not only be disqualified, but the patrols will retaliate with lethal force. The punishment for attacking a patrol is imprisonment.
UEF Leader Nations

This is a list and a description of the top 10 nations of the UEF in order of power as per the last tournament. This list does not consist of all the nations, so it is possible to play as a member of a nation not mentioned here.

1. U.S.A (I.S.A)
The United States of America (also referred to as the Imperial States of America since their conquering of most of central america) was the winner of the last Tournament. Due to the large amount of their dedicated to military spending, they have the ability to make machines of much better quality than most other places, though they usually turn out pilots who are average. They are usually the favorite to win, but usually are taken out early in the tournament due to error by the pilots.
The US's goals seem to change quickly and drastically, so its is difficult to tell what they would do if they won this tournament

2. Zodiac States
The Zodiac States, the grouping of space colonies around the moon, are newcomers to the tournament, making their first appearance in the 2490 tournament. Though they are new, their access to valuable space minerals allows them to create some of the sturdiest machines around, rivaling the production power of the US.
The Zodiac states in general believes that humanity should leave the earth and move to space, so a victory for them would most likely show many programs aimed at urging people to relocate to space.

3. Japan
Undoubtedly the best at mech creation, many wonder why Japan is not at the top, since their mechs and pilots are usually superior to that of the US. The answer is a combination of many factors, including the fact that Japan supplies many of the other nations, especially those without the facilities for building their own mechs, with many of the technologies that they produce. The Japanese seem to use the tournament as a display of their technology to attract buyers rather than a chance to rule the UEF, showing that winning is actually low on their priority list.
If the Japanese happen to win, it is expected that they will not do much as leader.

4. European Union
While their mechs usually pale in comparison to many of the stronger nations, the E.U. has a habit of turning out top notch pilots. This is due to the training schools in the various different states that make up the EU, all of which train pilots in a slightly different way before sending them to another place to learn even more. Many of the best mercenary pilots are from the EU. However, The EU usually gets beaten out by nations that can afford extremely heavy armor for their mechs.
A victory for the EU would most likely see the UEF setting a maximum cap for nation's military expenditures, in order to focus more money on the reconstruction.

5. Chinese Union
The CU boasts the largest population of anywhere in the world, but rarely uses any of its own people for the tournament. They prefer to hire seasoned mercenaries from elsewhere to increase their odds of winning, and are one of Japan's best customers when it comes to purchasing mechs. The CU does have some of the greatest mechanics and engineers in the world, however, and usually are the best at getting their mechs fixed between battles.
The Chinese plan to focus increasing the trade lines between nations, since it sees interdependency as the greatest step towards world peace.

6. Union of Arab States
Though the UAS lacks the military funding of some of the larger nations, it teaches its pilots some of the greatest tactics about utilizing ones environment to ones advantage. UAS fighters are feared for their ambush tactics, and have been shown to be great users of camouflage, both physical and optical.
The UAS plans to push the member nations more towards becoming independent of other nations, feeling that the blending of nations is destroying traditional values.

7. Neo-Soviet Socialist Republic
The NSSR may not be the superpower the USSR once was, but it is quickly gaining power. The NSSR lacks the military funding that most of the other top 10 nations afford, but have shown themselves to be the best at making cheap, powerful, and reliable weapons. All of their mechs are usually designed with interchangeable parts to make them extremely easy to field-repair. Most hand-held weapons for mechs are modifications of their weapons or based off one.
If victorious, the NSSR plans to initiate policies that would help redistribute some of the wealth from the richer nations to the poorer ones in order to help struggling nations.

8. India
India's large, mostly highly educated population is responsible for many of the breakthroughs in mech as well as medical technology. They are known for using weapons that hinder the enemy pilots, while having a wide variety of medicines and stimulants for their own pilots. Indian pilots are rarely killed in combat, since the best medics are their to patch pilots up.
It isn't exactly known what India will focus on if they win, but it is thought that they will try to devote more funding towards health care.

9. Brazil
Normally one of the nations that do not do as well in the tournament, it was a surprise to see Brazil make it to the top 10. With very few facilities to produce and maintain mechs, and even fewer facilities to train pilots, nothing much is usually expected from Brazil. However, they suddenly became a force to be reckoned with.No one knows exactly what to expect of them this time.
Nobody knows what the Brazilian's goals are for the tournament.

10. Canada
Usually fluctuating greatly in the charts, Canada seems to be a nation that has great difficulty getting into the top 10. The mechs and pilots they usually send are usually no more than average. Their real edge comes from their specialization in making advanced computer systems which make even their unskilled pilots deadly. Still, they hardly ever make it into the top 10 and have never risen above rank 8.
The Canadian agenda if they win would be to devote more time and effort into the restoration of the planet.

Player Characters

Gaia Name: RikoSeryuji
Character Name: Ayana Lilana Saghnally (Aya)
Character Age: 20
Character Height: 5'5''
Character Weight: 124 lbs.
Character Hair Color: Pink
Character Eye Color: Green
Nation Served: Canada
Piloting Experience: None
Piloting Style: Aya prefers aerial combat at long ranges, focusing on evasion rather than accuracy
Other Professions: Until recently was a engineer responsible for the creation of Canada's mech
Biography: From a young age, Aya had shown a great talent in designing different kinds of Mechs. Her father was the owner and head engineer of Horizon Combat Arms, one of the largest military contractors in the world, so she had access to these machines since she was young. She had helped unofficially on one of her father's projects for so long that they decided to hire her on as well, despite her young age. The project, named project Xepher, was attempting to create an AI that would be used in the nation's mechs, feeding tactical data directly into the mind of the pilot to improve their decision making and overall skill on the battlefield. This project had previously been started by some scientist that had committed suicide half-way into its development for unknown reasons. Aya, her father, and the rest of their team felt that they would be enough to finish this project.
Towards the completion of the project, a pilot was selected to operate the Xepher-equipped mech for Canada. His name was Tsoruya Reiken, a pilot that was residing in the U.S. at the time that was known to be highly skilled. When Aya first met him, the two became close and eventually started dating. Everything was going well, until the completion of the Xepher System was growing near. First, there was a massive accident in the lab, taking the lives of three engineers, one of them being Aya's father. Despite the losses, the governmental officials forced the work to continue. On the final test run, the mech carrying the Xepher System malfunctioned and exploded, sending Tsoruya to the hospital and setting back the project. The government officials accused Tsoruya of purposely tampering with the system and fired him. In truth, Tsoruya had figured out that the AI of the Xepher had deliberately tried to kill him, and figured the previous 'accident' was the same, and the accusation would stop anyone from believing his story.
Now short a pilot, the officials needed someone else, someone who would be more compatible with the Xepher. A compatible pilot could keep the Xepher AI stable so they could work out the problems with it. It was found out by a complete coincidence that Aya's brain wavelengths matched perfectly with the machine, so she was chosen, against her will, to be the pilot so they could make the final tests and adjustments on the mech. They told her that she would be entering the tournament, but in truth, the tornament participation was just a ruse for them to aquire battle data and acclamate it into the Xepher, increasing the performance. The final system that was installed into the Xepher, a control module that would allow the system to gain control of the pilot's mind and be controlled remotely, was done so without Aya's knowledge, as she was to be the test subject for the mind control. Luckily for Aya, however, she was told of this feature before it was actiated, and was able to switch her mech for one not modified to take over her mind. The people who she used to work with, who are now using her as a pawn, know that she knows too much and are making efforts to get rid of her.
Personality: Aya is a soft-spoken, friendly woman. She isn't exactly shy, but she is far from being an outgoing person either. Growing in a sheltered environment and being dedicated to her studies, many people see her as a kind of nerd. Aya is a very peaceful person and hates the idea of fighting other people, especially the part where she may not only kill other people, but possibly die herself.
Aya's three loves are building and fixing things, Chinese food, and kung-fu flicks, and she can usually go on for hours about any one of them if one got her talking.

As an extra feature, a facial recognition scanner in the cockpit can read the pilot's facial expressions and have the mech mirror them. It serves no practical purpose, but the system's creator thought it would be cool.

Gaia Name: RikoSeryuji
Character Name: Locke Braveré
Character Age: 19
Character Height: 5'10''
Character Weight: 169 lbs
Character Hair Color: Brown
Character Eye Color: Brown
Nation Served: Canada
Piloting Experience: Rookie
Piloting Style: Locke uses the extreme speed of his mech to his advantage. Seeing as most other pilots would pass out from the punishment he takes from the G forces from such high-speed movement, it makes even the fastest enemies unable to keep up with him. He prefers to either get in an opponent's face and attack them head up or use his extreme speed and maneuverability to circle around to their backs.
Other Professions: Fighter Pilot in Canada's Air Force
Biography: When Locke was a child, he wanted nothing more than to become a fighter pilot. He easily became one of the top fighter pilots that Canada had to offer, however he was born in a time when such skills were no longer necessary. Fighter jets were becoming obsolete, since the focus was now on mechs and the UEF tournament. This adrenaline junkie fighter pilot found himself extremely bored, wanting something to happen so that he could fly the skies again. He was confident that he could take on any mech in a fighter, but the need never seemed to arise. After a long string of inactivity, Locke decided the only way to see any action was to give in and become a mech pilot. It had just so happened that they were searching for a partner for the inexperienced pilot they were sending to the tournament. The fact that his partner would be a cute, single girl only helped speed up the decision. His only demand was that any mech he piloted had to be able to go airborne.
After his original mech was damaged severely, he was lucky enough to find two talking cats that led him to a mech they were guarding. This mech, the Cybuster, is known to be probably the fastest mech in the world, which is well suited to him.
Personality: Locke is an adrenaline junkie that loves the thrill of life-or-death combat. Sometimes, he seems to have a total disregard for his own safety. He is also very fond of women and flirts with almost every girl he meets, even in the middle of combat. His current 'target', however, is his partner Aya Saghnally.

It also has two moble attack pods attatched that are piloted by two cats named Kuro and Shiro. Its ultimate attack, Cosmo Nova, is strong enough that, at fill power, it could severely damage an entire continent, so the output of the attack is fixed at 10% for the duration of the tournament.

Character Weight: 185 lbs
Character Hair Color: Black

Piloting Style: Tsoruya prefers to enter melee combat and eliminate opponents quickly. Also, by charging into battle first, he makes himself the target, something his heavily armored mech can deal with much better than his teammate
Other Professions: Kendo Instructor/Master
Biography: Known as an extremely skilled pilot, especially for his young age, and a master of swordplay. In the last tournament, which was his first, he became the favorite to win, even after losing his partner. He faced someone in combat who was from the same school as him, though far more advanced, and was defeated, getting second place in the tournament. A few years later, right before the current, he was working as a kendo instructor in the U.S. He was approached by the Canadian government to test their new combat system and pilot for them in the tournament. Tsoruya always had a policy of non-allegiance; he didn't care what nation hired him, as long as they were the highest bidder. As Tsoruya went there, he began getting friendly with a young woman named Aya, who was one of the people heading the production of this system, the Xepher system. Eventually, the two began dating. However, there was soon a string of accidents involving the Xepher system, one of which took the life of Aya's father, the head of the project, and another during the final test flight that ended with Tsoruya in the hospital. Before the explosion, he noticed something about the AI, Xepher, that was troubling, and because of this, the officials of the Canadian government decided to shift the blame to him, labeling him as some kind of spy and saboteur. Having no real attachment to anything in Canada besides Aya, and having already been paid, Tsoruya went back on the market, eventually being picked up by the Chinese Union and bringing a friend along with him.
During the tournament, he was challenged by a non-participant, someone that he had trained with all his life before becoming a soldier. She wants to be better than him, vowing to kill him to prove it. Tsoruya, after participating in much violence even in his young life, had decided not to kill anymore, so he is looking for a way to resolve the conflict without bloodshed.
Personality: Tsoruya usually comes off as being extremely serious, and most people find him hard to approach. In truth, however, Tsoruya is a kind and caring man. He always likes to help people who seem like they're in trouble, not caring if he inconveniences himself in the process. When faced with an enemy, however, he is ruthless and shows no mercy.

Gaia Name: RikoSeryuji
Character Name: Millie Westwood
Character Age: 18
Character Height: 5'4''
Character Weight: 104 lbs
Character Hair Color: Red
Character Eye Color: Blue
Nation Served: Chinese Union
Piloting Experience: Professional
Piloting Style: Being a sniper, Millie prefers to stay away from the battle and use her superior range to her advantage, providing support fire for her teammate
Other Professions: Police Sniper
Biography: Millie was born to a wealthy and quite insane ex-military general. General Westwood believed that the lack of war in the world was stagnating human progress, and began training his children to be elite fighters, as well as adopting and training other children to add to his 'family'. Millie was trained mentally as early as it was possible on how to be a sniper. It was at age 7 when she was sent on her first assassination mission, which she completed easily. Ever since the first shot she had taken at age 7, she had never once missed a target once it was in her scopes. When she was 12, the Westwood family had become a real threat to the stability of the UEF, and they sent troops in to deal with the problem. All of her family members were slaughtered by the UEF forces, but she didn't shed a tear of sadness, since she had long before lost the ability to feel anything. Because she was a sniper, and was able to stay hidden and away from the actual fighting, she was spared. But now, with no more orders being given to her, Millie didn't know what she should be doing. Two years later, Millie, going crazy from the inactivity, set herself up in an abandoned building overlooking a crowded city and started shooting into the crowds. She had been trained never to kill unless ordered to, so she shot at the limbs of the people passing by, never killing a single one. A man named Tsoruya came in a mech to stop her, but she was able to take out the whole thing with one well-placed shot. He kept coming at her, though, even though the only weapon he had was a sword. She went to fire at his leg to disable him, but he somehow blocked the bullet with his sword. After missing her first shot ever, Millie went into shock, unable to do anything, which allowed Tsoruya to capture her.
Tsoruya could tell that Millie saw herself as nothing but a weapon, and tried to change that. He hid her away from the UEF instead of turning her in and helped her realize that she was a real person and not a weapon. Almost like a father, he taught her all of the life lessons that she didn't know, and eventually, she became able to function on her own. Four years later, she became a partner to Tsoruya when he was hired by the Chinese Union. Tsoruya doesn't realize, but Millie recognized that he was one of the people who had come and slaughtered her family. When he was first taking care of her, she secretly plotted to kill him, but she eventually grew very attached to him, and realized that her father did need to be stopped.
Personality: Millie acts cheerful and energetic at all times, is very talkative, and acts arrogant at sometimes. All of this is a mask for her true self. She is desperate to be accepted by people, doing whatever keeps her as the center of attention. She hinges herself on being useful because of her sniping skills, and is often self-conscious of the fact that her skills are not as good when piloting a mech. She is very protective and possessive of Tsoruya.

Gaia Name: Doomslapper
Character Name: Nereel Vesser
Character Age: Twenty three
Character Height: 5’11
Character Weight: 62 kilos or 136 pounds
Character Hair Color: Brown
Character Eye Color: Blue
Nation Served: European Union
Piloting Experience: Professional
Piloting Style: Nereel is a master of the traditional Beregi style of combat known as dalija. This is an aggressive style of combat that involves continuous assault combined with trickery, camouflage and deceptive tactics to confuse and distract an opponent while wearing them down with repeated attacks. In true Beregi style, Nereel has modified this ancient style of combat to fit the modern world, substituting steel swords with heavy assault guns and dust particles with electronic countermeasures. Her mobile suit, provided to her by the European Union, has undergone major alterations and refits to fit with the dalija methodology.
Other Professions: Beregi mercenary
Biography: Nereel was born into the Vesser clan in the traditional manner, a Beregi through and through. From her earliest days, she has been raised into the Beregi mindset- as a soldier. Like all Beregi clans, Nereel’s primary source of instruction was her father, who incessantly drilled his daughter in the life and mannerisms of a soldier for hire. Like any Beregi, once Nereel reached the age of twenty three, she left home with little except her vhettin, enough personal weaponry to rob a bank and the heart and soul of a Beregi clanswoman- something she can never lose, and something that no-one can take from her. It is time to sink or swim, and Nereel has recently secured her first contract; serve as tournament pilot for the European Union. Although no-one expects her to succeed with so little experience, Nereel is willing to kill to prove that a Beregi’s training can make up for a lot.
Personality: Nereel’s early years were heavily influenced by her father, and this shows in her behavior; A soldier of fortune makes very few friends, and she is always on alert, watching her’ allies’ as much as her enemies. Indeed, Nereel is very much the archetype of a Beregi; slow to trust, but unshakably loyal to those who have earned it, either through payment or through actions on the battlefield. Nereel understand the importance of conveying images to conceal her true motives, and this has prompted her to develop her ‘gabbing’ skills. Nereel can seem annoyingly chatty on almost any topic, and this causes many to dismiss her as a wide eyes, naive fool, an image that she enjoys living down to. The dalija mantra states that “A distracted target is already dead.” and Nereel applies this lesson almost every aspect of her life.
Theme Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc9vDHU8WrQ
Appearance: Nereel has a charmingly unique countenance about her that manifests whenever she’s not spilling blood (hers or another’s) on the battlefield. The constant need to wear a helmet whenever out and about has given her hair a wild look, one that can be interpreted as either endearingly unkempt or dangerously undisciplined. Piercing blue eyes match her ready smile, and both add to her ability to appear completely harmless of incapable of any sort of violence-a look that will dissipate instantly should anyone notice her hidden arsenal. Nereel arms herself like any Beregi should; that is, with a mix of broken down but easily reassembled assault rifles, handguns, grenades, grapple lines and combat knives, all kept carefully concealed until they are deemed necessary for use. Her vhettin, the symbolic yet functional armor that all Beregi wear, is a mix of blue, purple and red, a look that does little for subtlety but is perfect for intimidation. When combined with the helmet, Nereel’s look goes from cheerfully easygoing to brutally ruthless-and both looks have their place in her arsenal.

Mech Attacks:
Lancer heavy cannon: Two handed fully automatic rapid firing ranged suppression machinegun.
Barracuda dual action combat pistol: Two handheld repeating beam handguns carried in either arm.
Crocodile flamer: Two napalm spraying flamethrowers, mounted on either arm’s wrist.
Scorpion ballista launcher: Slow load single shot armor piercing bolt launcher.
Longbow beam gun: Two handed single round fire heavy beam gun.
Trafalgar mine layer: Minelayer attached to the back capable of dropping a variety of ordnance to deter pursuers.
Landsknecht artillery cannon: Shoulder mounted long range cannon that can fire a variety of special ordnance types. See next section for details.

Mech Special Abilities: The core element of the Beregi dalija combat style relies on distracting or confusing opponents before striking them down, and the French manufactured Gendarmes is made to fit this bill. Chief among these is the Gendarmes’ external armor. This is coated in an electronically charged chemical formula that can absorb and retransmit radar waves that come into contact with it, making the mobile suit invisible to long range radar scans. Because there is a short delay between interception and re-transmit, the Gendarmes gradually becomes easier to detect the closer it gets, but the radar absorbent feature helps it close in to medium range with its targets before being spotted electronically. Once combat is initiated, the Gendarmes is designed to distract or slow down opponents before destroying them with its mighty arsenal of ranged armaments. Gas tanks spread throughout the mobile suit’s skeleton can shunt a concentrated cloud of Minovsky Theta particles that will cover the mobile suit’s immediate area within a second. This could does three things: It blocks line of sight to the mobile suit owing to its density, temporarily overpowers passive or active radar scans due to its strength and finally, it blocks beam weapons because of the particle sizes. The next major feature of diversion is carried on the Gendarmes’ shoulder; a long barreled cannon that can fire a variety of shells, all of which are geared toward disrupting foes. The primary shell type consists of a hollowed out artillery round filled with Seekers, magnetically guided droid-like constructs that will latch onto a target and carry out two functions: Disable the victim’s ability to communicate by constantly transmitting a stream of electronic ‘garbage’ and at the same time, relay targeting data to the Gendarmes, increasing its ability to successfully hit the target. At least two Seeker droids must latch onto a target for this function to succeed. The second shell type functions almost exactly like the Minovsky Theta gas tanks, except that it can be fired over a long distance, useful for temporarily encasing foes in a cloud of confusing gas. Aside from those two, the cannon can also fire off a large variety of ‘normal’ ordnance, from napalm filled shells to old fashioned high explosive rounds that will rain shrapnel down on her foes. Big guns are always better guns.

‘Gendarmes’ is a French word, pronounced ‘john-darm’, and in that language was a term applied to medieval era noble cavalrymen.
The word 'Beregi' is pronounced 'Berry-guy'.

Gaia Name: SnakeStrike5
Character Name: Hellenia Kesadi AKA Zuka
Character Age: 34
Character Height: 5’8
Character Weight: 196
Character Hair Color: Brown
Character Eye Color: Bright blue
Nation Served: Zodiac States
Piloting Experience: Professional
Piloting Style: Sensor operation/camouflage
Other Professions: Celestial Guardsmen lieutenant/sensor specialist
Biography: Hellenia was born in space, onboard a passenger shuttle bound for the Thespia Cluster, the first human to be born this way. Growing up surrounded by the strong social bonds of her fellow Zodiacs, Hellenia became a boisterous young woman, and quickly earned local fame as a star athlete on her Cluster. While she was sprinting across hundred meter dashes in record times, Hellenia was also pursuing her career as a shuttlecraft pilot, having always been intrigued by the endless fields of stars that lay beyond the keratium reinforced windowscapes of her colonial home. She graduated from commercial flight school by the time she was 28, and was flying her first freighter at the age of 30. Alas, her first flight was also her last. Hellenia’s shuttle was assaulted in transit by pirate marauders, and her minimally armed freight vehicle was no match for the raiders, many of whom had stolen mobile suits from other colonies or from Earth. Her shuttle was rescued during the attack by the Celestial Guardsmen (a professional police force run jointly by all the colonies to serve as a space version of Earth’s coastguard), but they were too late; Hellenia had already been gravely wounded. Her almost lifeless form was hospitalized and while many doctors gave up on her as a lost cause, Arjay Vihedi, one of the Zodiac’s best physicians, was able to save Hellenia’s life, but she would not walk away from this unscathed; her left arm and leg were both amputated. Hellenia was furious over this turn of events, even after being given prosthetics to restore her mobility, and promised revenge on the criminal scum who had almost murdered her. She signed up almost immediately with the Celestial Guardsmen, but her reliance on prosthetics hindered her ability to perform, but Hellenia was determined to succeed. After a great deal of effort, she was able to secure a position on a patrol vessel as a sensor operator, a job that required very little reliance on her clumsy artificial limbs. She was a natural at it, and was soon famed for her ability to detect an oncoming pirate ship or mobile suit squadron simply by observing how the light diffracted around the units. Hellenia also had her named changed to ‘Zuka’, which in the Zodiac language is a term to describe someone who has devoted his or her life to delivering justice, a fitting term to describe her single minded determination to slay the pirates who had decimated her body.
When she found out that Arjay had been selected to join the tournament team, Zuka put forth a request to be allowed to participate as well as Nicolai’s wingman, and it wasn’t too long before the team selectors realized the wisdom of this move and permitted Zuka to join. Putting aside her grudge against bandits and criminals, Zuka was provided a specially built battlemech and put through a rigorous training program on its operation where she learned the advanced mechanics of camouflage and stealth from UAS mercenaries. This, combined with her uncanny ability to detect and outthink an enemy, has made Zuka great asset to the team.
Personality: Zuka is, above all else, a fearsome woman; her life has shaped her into an instrument of vengeance and destruction, and Zuka wholeheartedly embraces this transformation. She is closest to Arjay Vihedi, the doctor who saved her life many years earlier, and is fiercely protective of him and his reputation. Her aggressive nature may seem out of place with her passive role on a battlefield, but Zuka’s peers have learned never to question her decisions. Though her role requires her to act as a team player, Zuka’s frosty demeanor and thoroughly unpleasant manner make her difficult to approach while off the field of combat…
Theme Music: Zukaria ki bhen (Justice is final)
The song is called Unbreakable by Fireflight
Appearance: Zuka, like many other Zodiacs, never removes her spacesuit, but for her, this serves a secondary purpose; her prosthetic limbs are unsightly things by any account. Zuka almost never bothers to cut her hair, giving rise to her unkempt appearance, but her almost glowing eyes (a result of too much exposure to leaking dervonin gases) are most unique about her. Within the Celestial Guardsmen force, Zuka’s unusual eyes are often the subject of many remarks and more than a few nervous jokes, although such jokes are never spoken within her earshot…

Mech Name: MC-007 ‘Olympus’
Mech Overall Rating: Above average
Mech Speed Rating: Excellent
Mech Maneuverability Rating: Excellent
Mech Armor Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Melee Rating: Poor
Mech Ranged Rating: Average
Mech Attack Range Rating: Below average
Mech Attacks: The Olympus came from the same design program as the Hoplite, but serves an entirely different purpose; it is, above all, a support mech; it only carries two weapon systems, and both are meant more for self defense than offensive action. The mech’s primary offense comes from its single barreled dervonin combat rifle. Named as such because the weapon is powered by dervonin gas, the rifle sports an excellent rate of fire and decent penetration abilities, but sorely lacks in range; the weapon is only dangerous up to a distance of 800 meters, which is considered poor by most standards. The second weapon system is a sonic pulse generator that fires a concentrated burst of sound into a short arc in front of it. The sonic pulse is powerful enough to damage almost anything (even keratium armor has been shown to suffer some cracking from the pressure), but because the sound energy spreads out and loses potency very quickly, the weapon is only effective for a few hundred meters. This weapon system is meant to allow the Olympus to escape when threatened in melee, as the sound waves can also debilitate an enemy pilot. Combat is not the Olympus’s strong point, which is why the mech is not built for it.
Mech Special Abilities: This is where the Olympus shines; it houses a number of special weapons and components that can provide support to allied pilots or distract and confuse enemy forces. Like its larger cousin, the Olympus is made almost entirely of keratium armor and fitted with an Arrigan V engine, infusing the mech with the same combination of superior defense and amazing mobility, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. The Olympus also carries a large number of Vigilante droids, twice as many as the Hoplite, and they carry out a far larger list of tasks. They can lay or remove mines large enough to damage mobile suits, map out terrain, locate and track enemy movements and, most importantly, become dormant terrain sensors that can project minor earthquakes or heat ‘ghosts’ in a manner reminiscent of a mobile suit travelling on foot, an effective means of distracting enemy detection equipment. The Olympus also holds a very powerful sensor system that can detect movement, heat, loud noises or aerial disturbances across a distance of 400 miles, giving it the ability to locate enemies long before they do the same. In the hands of a sensor specialist like Zuka, the sensor system’s effectiveness is greatly multiplied. The final feature of the Olympus is its polymer sheet coating that allows it to project and bounce a small ‘bubble’ of superheated gases that diffract incoming light, making the mech appear to be invisible. Close inspection will reveal the shimmering bubble where the mech is located, but casual observation will throw off almost anyone.
All things considered, the Olympus is not a combat machine, but rather a support unit that can direct the flow of battle from a safe position behind the lines, perfect for an intelligence pilot like Zuka.

Character Name: Haraga Terugi
Character Age: 41
Character Height: 5’10
Character Weight: 210
Character Hair Color: None
Character Eye Color: Grey
Nation Served: None
Piloting Experience: Ace
Piloting Style: Aerial combat/beam weapon use
Other Professions: Former UEFGSI mech pilot
Biography: Very little is known about Haraga Terugi except for his service records held by the UEFSGI, which translates into the United Earth Federation’s Global Security Initiative. Formed immediately after the creation of the UEF, the Global Security Initiative was tasked with policing the UEF and putting down the minor revolts and small scale clashes that plagued the young and still unstable United Earth Federation. The monumental task facing the GSI required them to be armed with the very best in modern weaponry, and the GSI received military grade mechs and training, and quickly became the feared enforcers of the United Earth Federation; whenever the GSI appeared to take charge of a situation, the job would always get done. They were the elite of the UEF, the harbingers of the Federation’s authority. Over time, the GSI evolved into a fully mobile military force, and soon became the dominant security force of the UEF. To this day, they maintain their status and authority, standing ready to move into the newest hotspot and ensure the stability of the UEF, and the GSI’s forces are always in constant demand; even with the tournament system in place, there’s always some crazed visionary or potential rebel that needs to be crushed under the iron fist of the Global Security Initiative.
Haraga Terugi was born in Karlstad, Sweden in 2459, and from a very young age, he had always been enthralled by the GSI’s almost mystical position as global peacekeepers, and by the time he was twenty, Terugi had joined the GSI as a mech pilot. His training program was appropriately brutal, but Terugi excelled in almost all aspects of mech combat, and by the time he was twenty six, he was officially sworn in as a mech pilot for the GSI. His initial assignments were simple, but Terugi quickly gained valuable experience in the field of real combat, and when he proved himself to be a fine leader of men and possessed of an excellent grasp of squad strategy, he was quickly promoted to Lieutenant and given command of the GSI’s 56th Aerial Support Battalion, F Company. He quickly bonded with the six men and women under his command, and over the course of the next several years, F Company gained a fearsome reputation for being able to take on numbers far greater than their own and emerge victorious through a combination of masterful tactics and unmatched piloting skill.
But the glory was not to last. The year 2496 proved to be especially tough for the GSI; an international crime ring had suddenly grown immensely powerful and was starting to threaten smaller countries affiliated with the UEF. The GSI was ordered to look into this threat, and for seven months, the GSI’s covert investigators had to endure a game of cat and mouse as they tried to locate and shut down this criminal group once and for all. By the time their investigation was complete, the GSI had uncovered a far more deadly plot at hand; the criminal group, named the International Freedom Movement (IFM) had managed to acquire military level mechs, nuclear and chemical weapons and was preparing to strike against the UEF in a direct and bold maneuver, with an intent toward breaking up the Federation which they saw as a dictatorial power. GSI units were scrambled to attack the unexpected threat, and the 56th battalion’s F Company was among them. The IFM’s informant network exposed the impending assault, and the battle began prematurely. For five days, global media cameras were focused on the carnage inflicted upon Istanbul; GSI units poured into the city, fighting tooth and nail for every street, for every building with a ferocity not seen since the pre UEF days. The Turkish government had almost no say in the sudden conflict, and the citizens of Istanbul could not be evacuated before the GSI’s assault began. Commanders and politicians had to work together to create strict rules of engagement; the GSI had to take immense precautions to limit civilian casualties, and this meant limiting their access to heavy weapons and relying almost entirely on mechs and infantry. The IFM, while also actively trying to avoid civilian casualties, nonetheless took full advantage of the GSI’s restrictions on weaponry and hundreds of GSI infantrymen and mech pilots paid with their lives. The 56th Battalion’s F Company was in the thick of the fighting and acted with distinction, breaking apart IFM heavy units in multiple locations.
By the fifth day of battle, even with the added complication of avoiding civilian casualties, it was clear that the IFM was on its last legs; most of their zealous but uncoordinated and untrained units were either dead or captured and GSI troops were closing in. In a final, desperate act of defiance, the IFM set off a chemical bomb that they had hidden underneath Istanbul, destroying half the city and slaughtering what few civilians remained within the ravaged metropolis. GSI troops realized this too late, and the desperate attempts to evacuate men and innocent civilians were simply not adequate. Five thousand GSI infantrymen and mech pilots died within the hour, the worst losses the GSI had suffered since their inception. Civilian casualties were so immense that no accurate number could be compiled. The 56th Battalion’s F Company was among the fallen, with just one survivor: Haraga Terugi, who escaped with severe injuries. For that day onward, the 18th of August was always to be marked as the Disaster of Istanbul.
It took Terugi a full year to recover from his wounds, and by the time he was able to leave the care of the GSI’s hospitals, he found himself thrust into the spotlight of the international media, as one of the few mech pilots that survived the Disaster of Istanbul. Nearly everyone hailed Terugi as a war hero, a champion that had fought valiantly and lived to tell the tale. Dazed by the shock of having lost his entire squad, Terugi accepted meekly, and became one of the GSI’s most decorated veterans overnight. But he was never the same after that; psychological evaluations revealed that Terugi was no longer fit for command, and he was allowed to step down from his previous rank. An even greater blow was struck when the true number of civilian casualties came to light; global media agencies, vengeful Turkish politicians and hateful Istanbul survivors all pointed fingers at the GSI, insisting that the Global Security Initiative had bungled the operation and had not tried hard enough to evacuate the civilians before the IFM massacred them. For Terugi, as well as thousands of other veteran GSI survivors, this was the last straw; only they knew how many comrades had been lost to keep civilians alive, and how hard everyone had worked to save the people of Istanbul before the final volley was fired by the IFM. Terugi had had enough; unable to come to terms with the fact that he alone had lived while his comrades had died and disillusioned by the reactions of the world, he resigned from the GSI and simply vanished. Where he wanders now or what he seeks, no-one knows…

Personality: Terugi is, by virtue of his former profession, a cautious individual. Looking before leaping comes naturally to him, and he is deadly against rash action or uncalculated movement. Forever tormented by the deaths of his squad mates, Terugi is reserved and soft spoken, preferring to reveal little or nothing of his past. Unfortunately, the boon of indifference is lost to him; Terugi’s face is well known for his part in the battle, and this often brings him memories and even more hidden grief. He holds his supposed fame in little regard; for him, there is, and never will be, any consolation…
Theme Music: A life forever lost
(The song is called Broken Wings by Alter Bridge)
Appearance: There is ample indication of Terugi’s Swedish ancestry on his face but for his cleanly shaven head; exposure to harmful chemicals during the Disaster of Istanbul caused him almost total hair loss, but at least his beard survived the process. Fair skin and a naturally soft voice complement his appearance, but most intriguing are Terugi’s eyes. It is said often that one’s eyes are a gateway to one’s soul, but in Terugi’s case, they are little more than darkened orbs that tell a tale of personal sacrifice and a tragic hero… as well as titanic battles yet to come.

Mech Name: Arceren
Mech Overall Rating: Excellent
Mech Speed Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Maneuverability Rating: Excellent
Mech Armor Rating: Below average
Mech Melee Rating: Average
Mech Ranged Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Attack Range Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Attacks: The Arceren represents a truly one of a kind mech; no machine like it has ever existed, before or since. Manufactured by the Bavarian Mechanized Arms Production Company (BMAP), the mech was custom built for Terugi after his resignation from the GSI. He approached the company with a hefty credit line, and a few probes by company auditors revealed that his funding was perfectly legitimate, and that was enough to satisfy the corporate bigwigs. Overseen right from the design board by Haraga Terugi himself, the mech was built entirely to his specifications, and he wanted two key factors to go into the building of the mech; the first was that it had to be capable of intercontinental travel, and the second was that the mech had to be totally self sufficient. For this reason, the Arceren is the first mech built solely with survivability and ease of maintenance in mind. It houses five weapon systems, all of which are powered by the mech’s onboard power generator and never require reloading. The primary offense comes from a pair of beam cannons housed in the mech’s arms; these guns can be configured to produce a variety of fire types, from powerful single shots that can disable armored battleships to burst fire modes that can shred mechs. A set of smaller beam guns rests in the mech’s head, and these complement the larger guns in the arms by laying down much more accurate but less damaging beam rounds on targets within six hundred meters of the mech. When combined, they produce a deadly crossfire effect. Longer range offense comes from two particle cannons carried on the Arceren’s shoulders; the cannons work by producing a cone of heated air that gathers plasma particles from the surrounding atmosphere and then throwing them forward in a superheated ball capable of burning through heavy armor as well as temporarily shorting out a mech’s equipment. A fourth weapon system exists inside the mech’s right arm; a beam powered sword that can be activated at a moment’s notice and provides the Arceren with melee offense and defense. The mech’s final weapon component is housed inside its hip area; a directed magnetics shield generator that can project an intense field of magnetic energy into a 180 degree radius in front of the mech. The magnetic field creates a zone of polarized interference within its arc that deflects projectile weaponry by relying on the concept of magnetic deflection; anything metallic entering the magnetic field receives a negative electronic charge and is knocked off course by a stream of positively charged ions. In this way, the shield can knock aside anything up to the size and weight of a large missile or a medium sized aircraft, but a mech sized vehicle can overcome the field by charging through it, although the magnetics are likely to slow the mech down significantly, making the shield useful for preventing rushing melee charges.
Mech Special Abilities: The key feature of the Arceren is its self sufficiency; the mech is powered by a modified form of the Arrigan V engine, and functions by drawing in solar energy from the surrounding environment, storing and converting that into power for the mech to operate. The engine is remarkably efficient; when operated in daylight, the mech can run continuously without ever needing to come to a halt, even with all weapons operational. Of course, sunlight is not available everywhere, and the Arceren also carries several conventional fuel tanks on its back for use in a tight spot. This feature is what allows the Arceren to operate in the field indefinitely, and this freedom of movement was most critical to Terugi. Speed is provided by a pair of large Kampfwagon type engines that produce repulsor fields to allow the mech great speed and high altitude flight ability. Smaller thrusters provide maneuverability, and sheer numbers give the mech a great range of movement. The final point is the mech’s revolutionary repair system; field grade nanobots carried inside the Arceren can be deployed at any time to restore any damage the mech has taken, and these AI operated bots can repair anything short of a lost limb or broken weapons. The nanobots do this by converting readily available plastic into the titanium alloy armor that the Arceren is made of through a complex series of chemical reactions. The repair process takes a very long time and drains so much energy that the mech must remain inactive, so performing it during combat is not advisable. Of course, all these features come at a cost, and the necessity for speed and other components required the mech to be only lightly armored, making it very vulnerable to enemy ordnance.
It is not known why exactly Terugi, a retired GSI pilot, would want a mech or would pay for its construction, but a loophole in the UEF’s weapon ownership laws allow Terugi to keep the Arceren, but it is of note that several GSI and regular UEF army units under heavy fire have reported seeing an anonymous white mech provide assistance before departing at high speed. No connections between this mysterious mech and Haraga Terugi have been made as yet, and the mech has resisted all attempts at contact by the UEF or Zodiac States. Within the UEF’s military forces, the mech has gained a minor legendary status, and is known to many enthusiastic rookies as the ‘Cloud Warrior’.

Biography: Gabriela is the fifth daughter of the Williams family, a family known and renown for its famous lawyers, many of whom have occupied the international spotlight on a variety of significant court cases, but the fame was limited almost entirely to the upper class; the Wilson lawyers had a strict policy of working for whoever pays the most, and more often than not, that meant working for the sordid global corporations that used every loophole in the laws to get away with their underhanded dealings.
Gabriela's birth was marked almost immediately; everyone expected her to become a lawyer like the rest of her family, and she did just that, earning global fame when she brilliantly defended UEF politician Grennison Alfred from a series of scandalous charges involving a certain young girl. Gabriela's arguments won Grennison his release, but for Gabriela, it was a hollow victory; she knew that her client was indeed guilty, but she did not dare go against the powerful politician or her own domineering father.
Once the dust had settled, Gabriela, torn by her conscience, secretly leaked the truth of Grenison's guilt to the international media, and the resulting uproar saw the dirty politician removed from power, but in her youth, Gabriela had not thought things through well enough. She had been the lawyer defending Grennison, and her own newfound fame died with her sordid client. Soon to follow was the fame that her own family had painstakingly amassed; never again would the Wilsons be known as Earth's best lawyers. Estranged from her now enraged family, Gabriela drifted from country to before becoming, eventually, a tournament pilot. Maybe it was time for a career change...
Personality: Gabriela was raised as a lawyer, and her upbringing has colored her view of the world; everything must be analyzed carefully; all loopholes must be identified, all rules must be committed to memory and all contracts must be deciphered. She is not cold hearted, however, and Gabriela has always sided with the underdogs in any situation. What good is peerless skill if it is not used to make the world a better place?

Character Height: 6'6
Character Weight: 196
Character Hair Color: Brown
Character Eye Color: Grey
Nation Served: England
Piloting Experience: Ace
Piloting Style: Long Range Sniping
Other Professions: Optician
Biography: Very little is known of Irene's past only her date of birth and early life. She was born in Los Angeles, USA in the most tragic of circumstances; not one week after being delivered, an earthquake tore apart her home city, killing both of her parents and leaving her orphaned almost immediately following her birth. The Red Cross Orphanage took in Irene, and it was there that she grew up, substituting her lost parents with the friends she made at the institution where she was forced to grow up. One of her closest friends was Abelme Karame, a young African who had been blinded due to a rare genetic defect. The two young girls had much in common, however, and quickly became fast friends. Growing up together shaped their future goals, and Irene swore to become a doctor and find some way to cure her friend's blindness. Motivated by the purest of desires, Irene and her were adopted by Florence's parents and their family friends moved to India where she struggled through the rigorous curriculum of some of India's finest medical schools, but with Abelme's support, she quickly became one of the best eye doctors of the world. Almost as soon as she was done, Irene opened her own laboratory and began to research Abelme's genetic problems, intent on finding a way to cure it and restore sight to her childhood friend. But the road would not be so easy. Early on in her research, Irene ran out of the meager funds she had to finance her project, and any attempt on her part to locate external investors were fruitless; no-one was interesting in investing money in a project that could only cure a few hundred people around the world. Where was the profit in that?
Undaunted, Irene took up arms as a tournament mech pilot, determined to win and use her victory money to fund her own project. If no-one else would help her cure Abelme, then damn them all.
Personality: Irene is fiercely devoted to her comrade above all else; Abelme did for her what the mother and father she lost early on could not. Always proud and self-confidant, Irene is a very intimidating woman, and her immense height does wonders in reinforcing that fact.

His Gambling Debts grew and when Dahlia turned 9 he did the unthinkable.....he sold his daughter to the underworld.....When they came for her she did not go so easily and she had even managed to kill one of the enforcers in her attempts to get away. Impressed by her tenacity and resourcefulness they spared her the life of a common courtesan, as was the fate of so many other pretty young girls in similar situations. They saw in her a natural talent for combat and had her trained as an enforcer and personal bodyguard. She no longer cared what happened to her and took it all in....every beating, every grueling, life threatening obstacle thrown her way. She refused to face the sorrow of her plight and instead shut down her emotions...and did the only thing she had ever know how to do...follow orders.....every target was slain, every V.I.P. protected and all who would attempt to usurp her position in the organization were silenced by the now well know blade she bore at her side. 10 years passed and it saw her grow into a strong capable woman. After 2 years aboard the Jolly Roger she is It's first mate and some what of a den mother keep the crew in line and everything running smoothly. She has taken the last name Lily given to her by Roger...She never knew why although he said one day he'd tell her.
Personality: Dahlia is cold and practical relying solely on the most effective route in any instance. She is not so linear as to pick only the obvious choices but has used her tactical knowledge to make sound decision in battle and in tense situations. She is often confused by how protective the crew is of her but simply attributes it to being the only female crew member and weather or not she realizes it she is just and protective of them.

Mech Specs This mech is generally on par with the Pearl with slight alterations, it has better aromor but less speed and manuverablity as it is intended for direct close combat and hit and run strike missions.

It is armed with and molecular pulse blade that can cut through targets on a molecular scale making it very effective against conventional armor but less so against engery based defenses such as I fields conversely as opposed to beam weapons the machine pistol the mech carries fires explosive magnum round that deal heavy damage to what ever they hit. as they are primer based weapons I fields are useless against them but heavy conventional aromor can withstand the blows for a time. The Machine pistol fires in 3 shot burst and ammo is belt fed from inside the left arm of the mech eliminating the need for reloading. Persephone is also armed with hidden shoulder mounted missile launchers loaded with Incendiary homing missiles.

Though Kathrine, or Kitty, as she likes to be called. is extremely young, she has proven to be a genius when it comes to computer and mechanical systems. Her father was at the forefront of both of those fields before his untimely demise after his life's work, the Doll System, was abandoned by the UEF. Kitty picked up on her father's work, finishing the Doll system and building a working prototype in a mech that now only she can control.
Though she is a genius, she attends a normal public school and does quite poorly on her grades. She tends to ignore her schoolwork, instead using class time to draw up plans for new projects or sleep. The only reason she hasn't been left back in school is because several of the school officials make use of her masterful hacking skills to benefit themselves, such as having her tap into the UEF database during the tournament to give them insight on who to bet on.
Kitty's mother fell sick shortly after her father died, and instead of letting her teachers know, she started using her skills to make money to support her family. Though what she does is illegal, she never does anything that will hurt people. She always has a cheery attitude and can be called hyperactive. When she finds someone as intelligent as her, she loves to talk about all sorts of things for hours on end, but finds conversations with less intelligent people tedious and boring.
While searching the UEF database pertaining to the tournament participants, Kitty stumbled on to the Shadow-Mirrors and their plans, and is doing what she can to combat them from the shadows, not wanting to go against them openly, since she is still a little girl.

The Jyaki-Gun-Oh is a mech housing the only working Doll System. The Doll System allows the mech to act of its own accord when given certain instructions,; an order to attack, defend a certain target, or anything similar would get through to the machine, but how it responds to the commands is up to the AI. In this way, Kitty is the only one who can control the machine, since it will refuse to act for anyone else. Kitty has trained the machine to respond not only to her voice, but also to certain movements she makes and even to her dancing.
The Jyaki-Gun-Oh is armed with a variety of autocannons and gatling guns, as well as a few missiles and bombs. The way it can seamlessly switch between weapons and lay a constant barrage of fire shows that it uses coordination that no human can match. Since it was her father that originally planned and built most of the mech, Kitty left its name as Jyaki-Gun-Oh, since it was his name for the machine, but Kitty typically calls it Doll, and is very attached to it, since it is the last legacy of her father.

The third most powerful of the students of a legendary sword master. Suzu has always lagged just behind one of the other students, Tsoruya Reiken, and because of it considers him her rival. It is her goal to claim his life in combat, proving that she is superior to him. That is why when Tsoruya became a mech pilot, she became one too. Suzu is firm in her beliefs that the only true kind of battle is a battle to the death, and even though she does have slight feelings for Tsoruya, she never lets them get in the way of trying to kill him. Even though she does have a mech, she wishes to challenge Tsoruya in a straight swordfight so neither have any manufactured advantage.

Rapiecage

This mech was built incorporating data from both the Alteisen and the Weissritter. It is a heavy machine with a powerful rifle called the O.O Launcher that has a much higher output than the Weiss's Oxtongue Rifle, as well as better melee weapons than the Alt, including the right arm weapon, called the Magnum Breaker, which is, in essence, a triple barreled, bladed revolver stake. On top of all this, its most powerful weapon is the Xepher System which was created using data taken from Aya Saghnally's Xepher System. It allows the pilot to control the mech with extreme ease, as well as improving their skills.

Tatsu is the younger brother of Suzu and is the twin brother of Maki. Though Tatsu and Maki are twins, Maki was not only born first, but acts like the older sibling as well. When Suzu joined the Shadow-Mirrors, Tatsu joined as well. The ability to get power and riches without doing much really appealed to him. Though he initially seems very lazy and sluggish, he actually is an excellent pilot, used to high-speed combat and a variety of weapons. During battle, he prefers to fight at close range, a way of proving that he is the better pilot. Though he has plenty of skill, he is lacking in experience and doesn't have the training of his eldest sister.

PTX-015 Wildwurger
The Wildwurger is a mech based off of the Alteisen/Weissritter pair of mechs. The Wildwurger takes the role of the Alteisen, being the heavier, melee-oriented one of the two. It has a chain gun on the left arm like the Alteisen, but instead of a heavy pile bunker on the right, it has a vice-like weapon called the Beetle Crusher. Instead of piercing enemy armor, it crushes it. The heavy claymores of the Alteisen were omitted in order to keep the mech light. They were replaced with hand-held weapons, including a metal sword, and an assault rifle. The Wildwurger can also purge its external armor to make itself much faster and to attack with its bladed wings. In this mode, it can also link with the Wildfalken to deliver devastating combination strikes.

The Wildfalken is a mech based off of the Alteisen/ Weissritter pair of mechs. It takes the role of the Weissritter, being the lighter, long-range combat-oriented of the two. Whereas the Wildwurger replaced many of the weapon systems that the Alteisen had, the Wildfalken kept and improved most of the Weissritter's weapon systems. The multiple-warhead missiles are able to be fired in a greater number and in a spread to attack a wide area instead of a few targets, and the Oxtongue Rifle's E mode is able to fire in a single shot mode as well as a machinegun-like barrage mode. The Wildfalken, similarly to the Wildwurger, has a set of bladed wings it can use when attacking at high speed.

Wodan Ymir
Wodan is a complete mystery, there are no records of him anywhere. He refers to himself as the 'Sword of Magus' and is extremely skilled. His mech mirrors one of the Grungust line, and is fierce in combat. He seems to be extremely similar to a well-known pilot, Zanger Zonvolt, and since he wears a mask at all times, some believe that this man is Zanger, who hasn't been spotted since his victory in the last tournament.

Thrudgelmir
The Thrudgelmir is a large, heavy mech like the Grungust. However, it has many features that none in the Grungust line have. It comes equipped with a machine-cell system that repairs any damage that the mech receives, as well as a sword similar to the type 3 colossal blade that was created specifically for Zanger Zonbolt, another sign that it truly is him that pilots the machine.

Gaia Name: SnakeStrike5
Character Name: Walde Haiti
Character Age: 31
Character Height: 5’7
Character Weight: 185
Character Hair Color: None (He’s bald)
Character Eye Color: Grey
Nation Served: Zodiac States
Profession: Shuttlecraft pilot
Biography: Walde Haiti comes from the Athens Cluster, and was the first person recruited for the tournament besides Nicolai. His original profession was that of a civilian freight pilot, carrying goods from the colonies to Earth and back. Once the Zodiac States decided to formally create a team for the tournament, they extended an offer to Walde to pilot the team’s transport shuttle, Plataea. Walde was honored by the offer and accepted immediately, realizing that his skills had finally received the recognition they deserved. But behind his good natured arrogance lies a much more important goal: Walde has unfinished business on Earth, and he has decided to deal with it…
Personality: Walde is, like most other space colonists, outgoing and friendly, perhaps even more so than most; his frequent trips to Earth have earned him many friends and contacts on the planet. Though by no means cocky, Walde takes great pride in his ability to outrun or outshoot any pirate that gets in his way, and his sterling commercial record speaks for itself.
Theme Music: Unknown Soldier by Breaking Benjamin
Please spend a minute praying for the unsung paratroopers of Operation Overlord, without whose bravery and sacrifice the invasion of Europe would have been doomed to failure.
Appearance: Walde is most noted for his hollow cheeks that give the impression that he is underfed. This is actually due to a curious genetic structure that causes his body to transfer most of his body fat out of his face. This trait, combined with his hairless scalp is unsettling at first, but Walde’s permanently cheerful expression projects his good natured humor to all comers. He designed his space suit himself, and like all Zodiacs, the patchwork combination of blue and yellow tells a story that only a chosen few can read.

Gaia Name: SnakeStrike5
Character Name: Terkury Jennet AKA Jenny
Character Age: 28
Character Height: 5’7
Character Weight: 165
Character Hair Color: Black
Character Eye Color: Green
Nation Served: Zodiac States
Profession: Interpreter
Biography: Terkury Jennet emerged from the Macedon Cluster, but that was merely the location of her birth; she was almost immediately whisked off to Earth by her parents who were disgruntled by life in space and wanted to return to Earth. She grew up in Europe, and this was where she revealed her amazing aptitude for languages; Jenny could learn almost any language with almost no effort. By the time she was 25, Jenny had completed her formal education in international law, but a tragic event would change her fate forever. She’d never made a secret of her origins in space, and this was to prove nearly fatal later on.
Jenny was attacked by a mob of Italian Earth supremacists who believed that all space dwellers were arrogant, crafty villains who thought they could lord over all of Earth, and decided to make an example of the only space dweller they could get at. Jenny was injected with a number of powerful hallucinogens and mind altering drugs, and very nearly died from the chemical overdose. Police intervention saved Jenny’s life, but she was permanently traumatized by the assault, and her perception of Earth was forever altered.
Not more than a year after her ordeal, Jenny left her home in Italy and travelled to the Zodiac States and settled down in the Macedon Cluster. By this time, news of her trials had reached the Zodiac States, and Jenny quickly became a poster child for political leaders who wanted the Zodiac States to cut themselves off from Earth to keep the rabble out. Unwilling to be used in such a manner, Jenny kept her head down and worked through a number of part time jobs, unable to find anyone interested in hiring a lawyer. She struck gold eventually when a commercial firm put out a call for interpreters to assist in its dealings with Earth; by now, the Zodiac States had formally instituted their own language. Jenny had finally found a quiet job that suited her skills as well as her true calling, and she excelled at it.
When she received an invitation to join the tournament team as their official interpreter, Jenny was hesitant at first, unwilling to return to the planet where she’d almost died, but after some deliberation she agreed to take the position, determined to come to terms with her past and prove her true strength.
Personality: Terkury Jennet is, unlike many colonists, reserved and punctual. Even though she is loyal to her spacer origins, she has always found the Zodiac culture to be unusual and foreign, a fact that has rubbed many colonists, including Nicolai, the wrong way. Most tend to overlook this fact since Jenny’s tragic story is known to almost every spacer. Jenny never tries to defend her actions, feeling that it would be pointless, and this passivity has led many to think that she lacks fighting spirit, something that most native Zodiacs prize greatly. This unspoken rejection coupled with her fragmented history has made Jenny a fairly bitter person, although she is careful never to allow these feelings to influence her official business.
Theme Music: Not Enough by Our Lady Peace
Never forget the hundreds of men who gave their lives unconditionally so that thousands more would have a brighter future.
Appearance: Jenny wears her black hair long, usually tied into place with a simple hair band. She is possessed of an almost perfectly proportioned face; her eyes are just the right distance apart, her nose isn’t too long or too short and her chin is almost perfectly straight. This secretary style appearance is an asset Jenny embraces as essential to her job. Everyone prefers talking to a good looking woman, after all.

Gaia Name: SnakeStrike5
Character Name: Arjay Vihedi
Character Age: 39
Character Height: 5’11
Character Weight: 170
Character Hair Color: Black
Character Eye Color: Brown
Nation Served: Zodiac States
Profession: Chief engineer/doctor
Biography: Arjay is a velchin, which means an earthborn that migrated to space in the Zodiac language. Born in India, Arjay was educated in much the same way as his peers, but he suffered from a minor degree of autism. This made him extremely introverted and soft-spoken, a trait that would prove to be almost fatal to his career when he was unable to secure a proper job in his profession. Unwilling to accept defeat, Arjay cross trained as a shuttlecraft engineer and moved to the Thebes Cluster, seeking a new life where his skills would be better appreciated. This was only partially true, as the boisterous Zodiacs had little place for a person as withdrawn as Arjay. Nevertheless, Arjay’s skills in repairs and medical restoration secured him a vital occupation on one of the many shuttles working the trade routes from the Zodiac States to Earth. Now aged 36, Arjay has accepted an invitation to join the tournament team as their doctor and mechanic. He remains just as terrified of the spotlight as he always was, but the assurances of his comrades is enough to quell his worries… at least for the time being.
Personality: Arjay is the very definition of an introvert and keeps to himself almost all the time. He rarely advertises his skills, but everyone knows that they are available to those in need, and it is said often on the colonies that Arjay can repair almost anything, living or not. The acceptance he receives from his fellow Zodiacs is something Arjay sorely lacked on Earth, and he has come to accept his new life with open arms.
Theme Music: Ordinary Man by Breaking Benjamin
Dedicated to the Soviet 156th people's rifle division, ordinary men who fought valiantly and lost almost their whole division in the Soviet counterattack around Stalingrad, ordinary men who struck the first blow in the defeat of the mighty Nazi Empire.
Appearance: Arjay’s Dravidian features are evident to all who know to look for them; an angular face, deep set eyes, and a shallow jaw line are all tell tale marks of the sect of Indians that appeared on the southern coast of the subcontinent. Like many other Indians, Arjay’s hair grows at a fantastic rate, and he sports an unkempt beard almost as often as he does a cleanly shaven face.

Gaia Name: SnakeStrike5
Character Name: Allad Wallace
Character Age: 54
Character Height: 5’10
Character Weight: 240
Character Hair Color: White
Character Eye Color: Grey
Nation Served: Zodiac States
Profession: Combat advisor/instructor/bodyguard
Biography: Allad, also a velchin, comes from rural Scotland, and like many Scots, grew up among the frozen hills and barren forests of his ancestral homeland, where he was conditioned through a life of hardship that most city dwellers can only imagine. It seemed only natural that this toughened brute of a man would turn out to be a warrior, and true to form, Allad hired himself out as a bodyguard. His assignments carried him all over the world, protecting all manner of people, and it was here that Allad saw the worst and best that humanity had to offer. Unaffected by emotion, this cold man also carried out a number of less morally acceptable missions, although Allad never openly speaks of the things he’d done, all to earn a meager living. Several of his assignments were to guard mech pilots during tournaments, and he picked up a variety of combat skills and tricks from these pilots, many of whom were veteran tournament aces. By the time he was 48, Allad was more or less ready to retire, and migrated to the Sparta Cluster in the Zodiac States. Here he lived a relatively peaceful life, until Allad earned the respect of the Zodiacs when he famously foiled a bank robbery attempt being carried out by pirates on his own. The eyes of the Zodiac government were opened to this retired mercenary, and he was invited to join the tournament as a combatant. Allad agreed but refused to be a combatant; he had always held a deep dislike for mechs in general and the tournament, which he saw as a modernized version of the bloody coliseum of ancient Rome. Instead, he consented to train up the Zodiac’s chosen pilot, Nicolai, in the ways of combat and self defense along with several other instructors. Once his training was complete, Allad demanded to be allowed the right to escort his star pupil to Earth for the tournament, and was granted his request.
Personality: Allad fills the role of the toughened, no nonsense army man quite well. His hardened exterior conceals an old man, a wizened, tired veteran who would like nothing better to sit down with a good book and read himself to death, but circumstance works against him. This inner struggle never manifests itself physically; Allad has mastered his emotions and come to terms with his life long ago. Even though he knows he can never truly be a Zodiac, Allad has earned the respect of his space faring comrades, and that is enough to satisfy him. Now, nothing would please him more than to watch his pupil secure victory, a fitting end to his brutal but complete life.
Theme Music: We were soldiers
For all the foreign soldiers who fought and died in the British army, even though the war was not theirs, there can be no reward great enough. Salute the Indians, Scotsmen, Africans and Australians, and let their memories not be forgotten simply because their skin was not white.
Appearance: Allad’s short hair has turned completely white as a result of old age and his stressful life. Beady grey eyes are always alert for danger or anything out of place, and Allad is famous for his ability to spot the smallest details at a moment’s notice. A well muscled body and a heavily scarred face grant evidence of his rough life, not that anyone on the receiving end of one of his heavy punches would need much evidence…

One of the original three Space Noah class warships created by the UEF. Access to information on these huge machines is extremely limited, however a few things about them have become common knowledge. The Hagane's massive Tesla engine allows the massive structure to remain airborne endlessly, though conventional rocket thrusters are present as an auxiliary means of propulsion. It has room to hold, launch, and repair multiple mech teams. Also, loaded on the ship's bow is a massive weapon called the Tronium Cannon, which is the most powerful warship-mounted weapon known in existence. She tends to act a bit ditsy sometimes.
Hiryu Kai
While not of the Space Noah Class, the Hiryu Kai is just as powerful as the Hagane or Kurogane. Originally designed as a space warship, it was redesigned to be able to be as effective on earth's surface as well. It can hold multiple teams of mechs and employs a similar Tesla engine to the Space Noah class ships. However, it isn't as durable as the Hagane and Kurogane, and can't be used underwater. Katina is the hot-headed and foul-tempered leader of the Octo squadron. Though she has a respect for anyone that fights in the tournament, she believes that they often get lost in the hype of it all. However, she does prefer the tournament to the wars of the past.
She comes off as abrasive and can be hard to get along with, but she shows herself to be caring and accepting of others...after a while...
Gespenst Mk II
One of the mechs in the UEF's mass-production line. Primarily built for close range combat, the Gespenst supports the use of a variety of external weaponry, allowing it to be equipped for a variety of different situations. Though its internal weapons are for close range, with the right weapons, it can easily become a sniper or support mech. This versatility is what makes it a great mech for the general forces to use.
The Weissritter is a customized version of this mech, and the Alteisen is an attempt at a newer version of the Gespenst, hence its factory name, Gespenst MK III

Ibis is a part of the UEF's deep space exploration program. She trained long and hard to be able to pilot at high speeds, but during combat training seemed to have a habit of getting shot down, gaining her the nickname 'Shooting Star'. Though the Astelion was originally designed with exploration in mind, the UEF decided to alter the project and make it a combat vehicle as well, and deployed it early due to attacks by the Inspectors and Shadow-Mirrors. Though Ibis can still fair poorly in battle from time to time, she trains hard every day to make herself a better pilot. Ibis has an inferiority complex when it comes to piloting and her chest size, but she also has irom will and her determination is what led to her being chosen as the Astelion's pilot.
AstelionThis high speed mech was made as a part of project T.D. for deep space exploration. It is built off of the design of a Guarlion of the Lion series and incorporates many of its basic attack options, the most notable being the sonic breaker, a high-powered energy field in front of the mech used in ramming attacks. Because it is meant to fly far and fast, many of the optional weaponry of the Guarlion is not present in order to keep the mech light and aerodynamic. It does carry missiles, though since the Astelion can move with a speed equal to that of the missiles, using them is difficult. Not everyone can handle the speeds of the Astelion, and a special pressurized suit is required when piloting.

User ImageUser Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Ryusei Date
Ryusei was chosen to be a pilot of team SRX because of his skill at playing mecha-based video games. Although service in team SRX has made him a decent soldier, he still has many tendencies of a mecha fanboy. He is the main pilot of the machine created when all the members of the team combine, the SRX. He is also reported to have mild psychic abilities.
R-1
The R-1 is a lightweight, melee range mech made for a psychic pilot. It can transform into a flight mode to give it increased speed and mobility. It is also the center of the SRX.

A career soldier, Rai is an excellent marksman, and a deadly fighter at all ranges. He tends to be quite formal in his interactions with others, and often comes off as cold. He is always calm and collected on and off the battlefield, and very little can shake him. He is the only pilot of team SRX without Psychic abilities.
R-2 Powered
The R-2 is a heavy, long-range mech, the only one of team SRX that doesn't contain a T-Link system to support psychic pilots. Its massive cannons are one of the most deadly weapons in the world, and it houses a massive tronium engine which is the power source for the SRX. Hitting this engine could cause a massive explosion several miles in radius.

Aya was assigned to be the leader of team SRX because her strong psychic energy was necessary for the combination of the three mechs, and to control the flow of the tronium energy. Though she was new to leading an actual team, she had all the qualifications, and has proven to lead the team well. Her psychic powers are extremely strong, and most of her R-3's weapons make use of the T-Link system to utilize this psychic energy.
R-3 Powered
In its flight armor, the R-3 is the most agile and mobile of the R-series mechs. However, it is also the most fragile, and it depends on a barrier created by psychic energy to protect it from attacks it can't evade. It has the ability to engage multiple enemies at the same time, blanketing and area with missiles without the chance of hitting allies, since it is driven by her psychic abilities.

Mai is a kind and gentle person, and was assigned to team SRX because her psychic abilities are as powerful as her older sister's and their connection allows them to link easily, which is necessary to use the SRX's most powerful weapon, the H.T.B. Cannon. She often feels that she doesn't belong, however, so she often tries to prove to everyone, especially herself, that she does.
R-Gun Powered
The R-Gun is a machine similar to the R-3 without its flight armor. It is heavily reliant on its psychic weapons and defenses, and its actual armor is weak. However, it is much less mobile than the R-3, making it the weak link in the team. Whereas only the R1,2,and 3 are needed to form the SRX, the R-Gun transforms itself into the mech's most powerful weapon, a giant beam cannon that to date is the strongest weapon of any mech in existence, with only a handful of warship and base-mounted weapons known to be stronger.

The ultimate mech created by the UEF. It has all of the strengths of the mechs that make it up and the weaknesses of none. It is dominant in melee combat, extremely impressive in long-range combat, is fast and agile, has extremely durable armor, has a slew of telekinetic weaponry, and has a telekinetic barrier surrounding it. In addition, the R-Gun can transform into a supremely powerful weapon for it, making it one of the most deadly forces in the world.

Character Hair Color: Brownish black
Character Eye Color: Green
Nation Served: The Zodiac States, Macedon Cluster
Piloting Experience: Professional
Piloting Style: Indirect fire/ short range offense
Other Professions: Asteroid geologist
Biography: Once it became evident that space colonization was a viable alternative to living on Earth, people migrated in droves to the new space colonies, eager to colonize the latest final frontier. For the most part, the Earthbound nations that sponsored the colonization allowed the spacers to sort out their own governments, and the colonies were only too happy to comply. The colonies were divided into five clusters based on their primary functions, each one named after a famous Greek city state from the Earth’s BC era. These were Athens, Sparta, Macedon, Thespia and Thebes. A single cluster could have separate colonies sponsored by almost every nation on earth, and over time, the colonies came together to form a new nation in space. This informal conglomeration was only formalized in the year 2200. When the fighting on earth was especially fierce, the Zodiac States officially declared themselves a separate nation whose sovereign territory occupied space and the moon. Naturally, the colonial sponsors were furious, but with the wars on Earth, it seemed unlikely that any real retribution would be directed against the unified and suddenly immensely powerful space colonies. As the years progressed, the Zodiac states set themselves up as an economic superpower, exporting valuable mineral mined from space to Earth. Over time, they even formed their own culture and way of life, and even developed their own language. Nicolai was born on the Macedon cluster in 2371. Named after the Greek city state which eventually unified all of Greece into one country, the Macedonians were the ones who spearheaded the Treaty of the Zodiac, and have always seen themselves as the glue that holds the Zodiac States together.
Hailing from a fairly unremarkable family, Nicolai worked through his early life with as much grace as anyone else, eventually managing to secure a job as a geologist. As part of his education, Nicolai visited Earth and spent an extended amount of time travelling around the planet in an effort to expand his education. He spent much of his time in India, and it was here that his future was decided. Nicolai chose, in a spur of the moment decision, to participate in the tournament as a low level duelist for India. He was defeated fairly early on owing to his lack of formal training or experience, but his heart was forever stolen by the sport. When he returned to space, Nicolai campaigned aggressively for more active participation from the Zodiac States in the tournaments, and it was his influence, among other things, that prompted the Zodiac States to participate in the 2040 tournament. Stunning success silenced Nicolai’s critics, and the Zodiac States implemented a far more professional training regimen for willing duelists, comprised mainly of mercenary drillmasters from Earth. Nicolai was one of the first to sign up, and by 2488, he was fully trained in a manner reminiscent of the Greek citizen-soldiers of old that the Zodiac States were named after.
Armed with a specially designed battlemech and a top notch support crew, Nicolai has descended to Earth to participate in the tournament again, and the stage is set for the Zodiac States to reveal their deadliest weapons of flesh and steel yet…
Personality: Nicolai sees himself a pioneer, a champion of Macedon whose purpose is to lead humans into space. Though that lofty goal may be fairly unattainable, Nicolai still believes wholeheartedly in his mission, and is fiercely devoted to the cause. He is bullheaded in an argument and totally unwilling to back down once provoked into a fight, although such provocation rarely ever comes from him. Nicolai believes firmly in the maxim of walking softly while carrying a big stick, and is typically soft spoken. He is not unfriendly and is a very sociable person, as are most other Zodiac colonists; on a space colony, everyone knows everyone else. Nicolai is fiercely devoted to the Zodiac culture and way of life, and takes pride in his language and customs that many earthlings find unusual or downright alien.
Theme Music: Ne vren dassen kenli (A hero never falls)
Appearance: Nicolai is, like many, Zodiacs, thin and spindly; artificially controlled gravity does that to people. His dull green space suit is like a second skin to him, and he almost never takes it off, even while sleeping. Short cut hair and a fashionable beard round out his appearance, but most eye-catching about his features is a prominent scar that runs across his right eye, the only memento he carries from his first tournament fight.
Sorry. No cool caption for this...

Mech Name: MC-006 ‘Hoplite’
Mech Overall Rating: Excellent
Mech Speed Rating: Excellent
Mech Maneuverability Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Armor Rating: Extraordinary
Mech Melee Rating: Excellent
Mech Ranged Rating: Excellent
Mech Attack Range Rating: Above average
Mech Attacks: The Hoplite is named after the famous warriors of ancient Greece, the citizen soldiers that comprised the bulk of any Greek army. They were named as such because of their iconic shield that was called a ‘hoplon’, and the MC-006 tries to mirror that image by combining an unyielding defense with devastating attack power at short to medium range. The Hoplite’s weaponry consists of four different components designed to knock out opponents who get too close. Melee offense is provided by a multi use battle sword gripped in the mech’s right hand. The sword is equipped with a beam power generator that can produce a high powered energy beam capable of chopping through almost anything and electrical field generators that allow the sword to inflict electrical damage directly to the enemy pilot by making contact with any part of the enemy’s mech. The mech’s left arm carries a large round shield made almost entirely of keratium (more on that in ‘special abilities’) and is almost unbreakable except for the most powerful weapons known to man. The shield also functions as an impromptu bashing weapon. Two ranged weapons complete the Hoplite’s arsenal, and the first of these is the wrist mounted autocannon, a staple assault cannon built into the mech’s right arm. This positioning allows the Hoplite to switch from melee assault to ranged combat in the blink of an eye. The autocannon can also be set to fire shotgun bursts rather than a stream of gunfire. The Hoplite also carries a mortar launcher built into its back, a monstrous weapon that can lob a 600 pound explosive artillery shell across a distance of eight hundred meters. Because the shell explodes in midair, dodging the entire blast is impossible, and the disorientating effect of getting blown away provides the perfect opening for the Hoplite to rush into melee, where it excels. The mech’s main weakness lies in its lack of long range weaponry, but anything getting too close is sure to be devastated.

Mech Special Abilities: The Hoplite’s most unique feature is its armor. Comprised entirely of keratium, a rare mineral that only forms naturally when silicon based asteroids collide in a cold environment like space, the armor can withstand almost any sort of assault. One inch of Keratium provides the equivalent protection of a full meter of titanium. Even beam weapons have a tough time damaging keratium armor. This allowed the Hoplite’s designers to equip the mobile suit with a lightweight coating of keratium with the same degree of protective coating as a large amount of any other substance. This meant that the Hoplite could be heavily armored and still light enough to be able to maneuver around very quickly, a combination previously thought impossible. The next special feature of the Hoplite is its complement of Vigilante droids. These jeep sized, spiderlike AI controlled machines are capable of operating completely independently of the actual mobile suit, and provide a variety of functions on the battlefield. They can locate targets and feed visual or audio information to the pilot via laser satellite linkup, map terrain or eliminate car sized or smaller targets with their automated machineguns. The Hoplite itself is powered by a smaller scale version of the Arrigan V engines that keep the space colonies operational, allowing the mech to operate in the field for close to a month without requiring a recharge.

Aya looked out the window of the transport that was taking her and her Angelg to the place where the battle would be beginning. Her heart sunk further the closer they got to the Australian continent; she had no love of battle, and even less desire to compete in one herself. She was no pilot, her job was to make mechs, not pilot them. But, she had no choice. Her home nation, the one that she had labored for for years to make their stupid machine, even after her father died working on the project, had the nerve to force her to risk her life as a pilot. If she didn't accept, they would ruin her, and she still had a younger brother to take care of, so she couldn't just up and move either. It was times like this that she wished she would have been born somewhere else, like the U.S.

"*Sigh* As soon as we get close enough, I just know we're going to be a target. I have no experience at all, and Locke's a fighter pilot, not a mech pilot, and everyone knows it. How do those idiots expect us to have any kind of results like this?"
Aya's emerald green eyes fixed on the other transports that were landing on the continent to prepare for the battle. They were all trained pilots with actual battle experience, and they'd probably be gunning for the 'Canadian Rookies" for an easy kill. Sighing, Aya fitted her helmet over her bubblegum pink hair and made sure everything fit into place. Unlike most pilots, her tight-fitting pink-and-white pilot suit was much more than a form of protection, the computer systems in it were necessary for linking her to her mech's Xepher system, so it took longer for her to make sure everything was in order. Once she was sure, she started to head down to the hangar where her Angelg was waiting.
User ImageThis wasn't his style at all. The huge monstrosity that they wanted him to pilot was so far away from the fighter jets that he loved. But they were oh so sure that he'd love it. Why would he ever want to pilot a flying wall? Whatever, at least he was getting paid for this gig, and there was one other benefit as well; his partner, Aya. He wouldn't have even accepted this job if he hadn't seen her and knew it would be the two of them alone against all the other combatants. She might have spurned every single one of his multiple advances on her, but he knew he'd wear her down eventually. He would make her fall for him eventually...

As Locke was checking his mech, he saw Aya coming down the ladder from the upper deck. He sat back and enjoyed the view; he did love when Aya was wearing her skin-tight pilot suit. He started to walk over to her, planning what his line would be this time.
Florence gets dressed into her high tech flight suit and grabs her sleeping Sliver unit. Her sliver unit was a upgraded version of a birdie unit that was given to her. Sliver looked like a hawk then a little birdie. She walked down the halls of her transport and headed into the hanger room. Florence climbs into the cockpit of her Gust Custom. She waited for something to do as she played with Sliver.

Sliver hops and sits on his area where he linked up with Gust's system. He logs into the system and puts up the display of other fighter, mech, etc. "Florence is the best, Florence is the best"
((Ooc: Can I have check out Locke and Aya?))
