Welcome to Gaia! ::

"No," The twins chorused. They made the motion of looking around, though their eyes were wide, unblinking, and not really focusing on anything. "We live a couple of roads down," Nox said in a knowing tone.

"We haven't ever been outside before."

"So we don't blame you for not having seen us before."

"We haven't seen much ourselves."

"I'm Nox--"

"And I'm Lux. They mean 'Night' and 'Light.'"

The twins jumped in glee--someone to play with! If the demon said something after their introductions, they appeared not to hear him--they each turned and skipped to the end of the alley, turning again before they actually left it, so that they were facing their new friend. They looked at each other, and Nox asked, "You can see, right? You don't just use psychic energy like us?" They both gazed at his--in their wide, silver-violet eyes--shimmering form. Maybe it was his energy that he liked, Nox decided. It was different--while everyone they had met was always nice and had a nice aura, there was something that the twins never could connect to, in every one. But that something was missing with this new friend, and it made Nox feel like he could trust him.
Never been outside? Are they serious? Zinku thought, finishing off the loaf quickly as they continued repeating themselves, and just in time to catch their names. They sounded like twins... acted, looked and were named like twins... so why hadn't he noticed before? They seemed really excited to have run into him, and appeared to be reading him too deeply for little kids. It kinda creeped him out - especially when they talked about psychic energy. "See? Psychic energy?" He had followed them out of the alley rubbing his chin. "Well, I see with my eyes, and I can talk with my mind... but anything else is out of the question." He looked over them both, trying to find some clue to why they asked something so strange. "Do you both see 'psychic energy'? Must be colorful." He knew vaguely how that works, considering his almost constant use of telekinesis, and that the most important factor would be to use colors to stimulate feeling or generate imagery more artistic than could ever be imagined by words alone. Even so, he'd never imagine looking at living energies, or wanting to. What could be gained from it?
"We can't see, like you do," Lux said, pointing to his eyes, which still seemed kind of out of focus. They were wide and silver, specked with violet, and for all that, they had no pupils. The same went with his brother. "We can't see with our eyes, we see with our mind, with psychic energy."

"It's really pretty, Mister," Nox added, not really knowing what else to call the demon, and determined not to pry into his mind for the information. "It helps a lot to determine types of people, and their intentions."

"Not their intention, as in, we can't tell why someone wants to do something--"

"--but the idea behind it. As in, if someone is intent on wickedness, then their aura is different than someone who has good intentions, and we can tell the difference."

Then, Nox frowned, pulling off a ridiculously adorable pout that generally made one feel as though his sadness was a true tragedy that must be fixed. "If you can't hide your psychic energy, then it won't be fun," he said slowly, as though he were only making the discovery as he said the words. The twins both looked up at the demon.

"You'll have to think up a game, Mister, if you can't hide your psychic energy. Otherwise we'll be able to see you no matter where you hide." It was a game Lux and Nox played often, a means of training their mind, really. Even in such a little space as their caretakers' home, they could keep themselves entertained by stretching their minds.
Zinku didn't know what to expect anymore. Hiding energy? Must be like hide-and-seek, except for dragons. Dragons being the first creature he could think of that would see like he imagined the boys did, didn't really remind him of Lux and Nox. "How can I hide something that's always in use?"

((Curse being distracted in school! =__=...))
[[OoC;; Sorry, don't get on during school hours. u.u;;

I added you on AIM, Niamara Sensei, feel free to bug me if you're online/you posted a reply.

Oh, and I just got grounded so... I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post. Hopefully she'll just put time restrictions on my computer instead of completely take it away, 'cause I'm grounded for a month u.u]]

"Well, it's hard--" one twin started.

"--if you don't know how," Lux finished. They way they spoke seemed as though one person were talking from two different places adjacently--there wasn't any sort of break or pause in between the twins.

"We've been practicing for... forty-two years," Nox continued matter-of-factly.

"It's like trying to be quiet, or trying to make yourself small so that you aren't seen as well. You just have to draw in your energy so that it's really small, and it hides." Lux mimed something large becoming something small with his hands.

"It also helps manipulate your energy," Nox added. "So that you can use it to do things for you, instead of just talking. It's easier when you're meditating, it's easier to clear your mind and focus on feeling for your energy."

"When you've focused on feeling that energy, you just draw it in," Lux sounded happy and proud of himself for being able to teach someone something. "You can also see like we can if you can keep your focus, and if you practice long enough, it's easy to snap into and hold your focus to see psychic energy."

"It's good for finding people, too--you it's not something you can lose sight of as easily as seeing like you do, you can see people around buildings and stuff, too. And everyone has a psychic aura, but not very many people know how to hide it. Actually, Lord and Lady were kinda surprised when they discovered that we could, they hadn't heard of anyone who could do that before--"

"--and they're old," Lux added with a giggle.

"We thought they were just being nice to us because we liked praise, but no one hides their energy. Or maybe it's 'cause they don't feel like they need to?" It's true, this place was peaceful enough--maybe no one felt like they needed to hide from anything. But then, their new friend didn't know how to, and he seemed pretty knowledgeable.
((Oh, it's alright. You and I are the only ones frequently posting anymore, and you should be the one IMing me. xD You seem to always be on top of things from my point of view.))

"Or they can't." He stated, irritated at the thought. The first thing he thought of when they described the action of hiding energy was a demon he was running from that actually could do it. His following thoughts were of the demons who were on par with his threat, and who couldn't hide a thing. Rather obnoxious demons, those.

Zinku put his jacket back on, wondering briefly why he hadn't when his wings retracted, but convinced himself that the boys had disrupted his thought process. Nevertheless, he couldn't stop thinking about why he hadn't thought to 'hide' before. He concluded that it would take some time for him to succeed in hiding it, and that this game would make great, boring, practice. "I suppose I could attempt it a few hundred times, but you'd both get bored of watching me fail eventually." He said, smirking and shrugging his shoulders.
[[Ooc;; Don't forget, you still need to introduce yourself to the twins, xD;. It makes writing easier, it's hard to think up different descriptions for you when they aren't actually talking, and using "the demon" over and over is boring. xD]]

"Never!" the twins said simultaneously, eyes wide, as though they meant it. Of course, they did--or Lux did, anyway, and he was pretty sure Nox did too, since they felt the same most of the time.

"We'll cheer you on!" Nox said, thoroughly enthused. "We know you can do it, Mister!" They both jumped up and down, waiting to see if the demon would try.

"It makes you loads stronger," Lux said

"Yeah, and I bet you can take on anything already!"

"And you can think-talk, that's all you need to get started." The twins beamed, admiration and excitement painted on their faces.

[OoC;; Woohoo, new tektek toolbar, makes changing colors so much easier. xD]]
Rei quickly grew bored after Zinku left. Her mind went back into thought about where she would go. She really had no idea where she was in the first place.

Then a thought hit her: she could ask Zinku about somewhere to go, or just where she was. She pulled herself to her feet, pulling her hood over her ears and hiding her tail. She started to make her way back into town, heading towards where Zinku lived. She was already thinking of leaving, even though she had just gotten here.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Asa kept pace with him, not really speeding up, but extending her stride. She kept her graceful movement, though, as she walked. Her eyes looked up, wondering what he was looking at. Noticing there was nothing threatening, she returned her sad-looking gaze back to where it was before.
Her lips never parted as he talked since she didn't have anything really to say. She didn't want to pry into his buisiness and really was just following him to fulfill her "duties" that were engraved in her.
[[OoC;; I guess Kamon's gonna be gone for the weekend, o:]]
((Back! x3 Columbus was pretty frigid for it still being Autumn, but I had an awesome time with my buddies, new an' old. Can't say I like running on weak sleep, though. =/

I also want to mention, coming back to the roleplay, that I am very forgetful, and even irl can't introduce myself properly by name. xD; The excuse I came up with for Zinku is that he is hiding, and only told Rei his name 'cause his brain was failing to function properly without food. =P))

"And I think better than I talk." Zinku paused, smirking. He continued leading the twins slowly to his humble home as they taught him, and he was so caught up in it all that his thoughts came back to his ego. He reminded himself that many of his short and long acquaintances had been amazed by his 'gift', how they had never known such a demon that could exercise his talent and knowledge so well. "I suppose that's fortune staring me in the face, with its eyes so clever," he softly beamed, bringing his eyes back into focus while passing his neighbor's home. He knew subconsciously that he was close to his home, so he looked up towards it. The path was not so busy that people could evade him when he wasn't paying attention, but he had about a three seconds to stop before colliding with someone not facing him. When he realized who it was, probably a foot from her being, he ended his thought. "and feline." All he could see as he glanced down was the top of the demon's hood, covering the ears he knew she was hiding from the villagers.

((No, I'm still not introducing him. =P I couldn't think of how without being somewhat random and subject changiethingerly.))
(( Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time and I wish I could say the same about my weekend XD Mine was boring and unevenful -.-; And tonight and tomorrow should be dedicated to just homework... but we know that won't happen XD ))

Feeling a presence behind her, her insticts quickly took hold. She stepped forward, spinning herself around to see who was behind her. She automatically started giving apologies before she noticed who it was, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-" a pause came to her lips as she looked into the same eyes as she saw in the cat, "to.... get in the way." She continued, just out of habit.
She smiled, awkwardly, "Uhm... hello." She said quickly. Her eyes began to wander as she thought of how to pose her question... or rather what she was going to ask exactly, when her eyes fell upon the boys. "Who are these two?" She asked curiously, with a warmth in her voice.
[[OoC;; Hello hello, and welcome back! I finally started that role play I was working on, and it's actually doing pretty well, albeit the fact that it's a little slow-moving. xD

I'm really busy right now, so my post is going to be succinct. Sorry, D:

Doh! I just realized that the twins were spying on you guys, so they knew your names already, xD! Maybe I'll just have them pretend that they weren't there, lol.

Alright, Kamon, here's your chance to introduce yourself. 8D]]

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiii~!" the twins said simultaneously, both looking at the demon they had seen earlier. "I'm Nox," Nox added.

"And I'm Lux," the other twin continued. "Pleased to meet you, Miss!"

"But that doesn't tell us who you are," Nox said, as if he were only just realizing that he didn't know their names.

"Either of you," Lux lightly added. "We don't want to pry without permission." He was, of course, referring to entering the mind of another person. It was against the twins' honor code to do so.
"When we get there we will have to part ways," Seth began as he continued to the distant mountains. They still seemed pretty far away from his desired destination. Fortunately it looked like a small town was coming into view. It looks to be approximately two to three miles away, he thought as he stopped at one of the trees full of fruit. He reached upward removing six plump apples from their stems. He handed three to Asa before continuing on the path and biting into one of his three. Apple juices squirted into his mouth dribbling down his chin. He wiped his arm on his mouth in annoyance before taking another bite.
Rei giggled cutely, " It's nice to meet the two of you, I'm Rei." She looked at Zinku, then back at the boys. "Pry without permission?" She asked, tilting her head in curiousity.

-------------------------------------------

"Why will we be parting ways, if I may ask? It seems you would prefer to have my company for a longer while. " She said, the question in her voice mixed with it's usual warmth.

Asa took the apples, but did not remove her firm gaze from Seth before her question was answered. She moved one of the apples to her lips, biting into it carefully and eating. She wasn't very hungry, but wanted to be polite.
The twins looked at each other a little uncertainly, then looked at Rei. "We mean, into your mind," Nox said.

"Like mind reading," Lux continued.

"Yeah."

"It's bad."

"Very bad," Nox agreed.

"We don't like to do it because it's disrespectful," Lux stated matter-of-factly.

"It's like stealing a secret."

"And if someone did it to us, we wouldn't like it very much."

"We especially don't want to do that to our only friends," Nox said in an almost sad tone of voice. The twins looked to each other in silent conversation. They are our friends, right?

I hope so, Lux replied. If not, we'll always have each other, so don't be too down-heartened. He sent out rolling waves of emotion--of warmth, reassurance, and safety--to his brother, who smiled in return.

Thanks, Nox said. The twins looked back to Rei and the other demon. "Besides, what's the point? Anything we wanted to know we can just ask, really. Maybe if we were talking to an adversary, we probably would pry for our information."

"Yeah, it wouldn't really matter then, 'cause if we were against someone, they probably wouldn't tell us anything important unless we pried."
