Welcome to Gaia! ::

It had started raining suddenly, wetting the street and creating obnoxiously large puddles in a short amount of time. Hysho, cloaked and walking upright at a height of roughly six feet, was distraught over getting drenched with little warning. There had been only a few clouds in the sky, as it became dark and rained quickly. He had a feeling though, that it was due to the mountains surrounding town.

It was a remote town to him, but obviously located within Welkin. Obviously, because a man had struggled to state such as he passed Hysho earlier, drunk as a horse. "Too bad he couldn't tell me the time... Forsaken clouds."

The man at the desk looked casually at the man on the floor, then tossed Anari a small purse.

"No silver in it this time, Darrien?" the vampire asked warily, "Because if you made the same mistake again, I'd be forced to harm you. You know I am only to be paid in gold or gems."

Darrien nodded. "The last time was an unfortunate mix up. I guarentee you it will not happen again."

Quickly, Anari checked to make sure, then turned to leave.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" asked Darrien, pushing a small stack of papers across the desk, "The newest bounties. Some criminals, a couple of personal vendettas, and even an escaped slave or two."

With a slight sigh, the girl took the papers and swiftly left the building, barely making it home before the dawning of a new day.
After awhile of waiting, Zinku concluded that he wasn't in danger, so he decided to get back to his thoughts. As he looked over the lake again, he observed a higher sun, and a lake not so bronze. The sky in the distance was a blur... as if it had rained beyond the mountains.

Pulling his cloak tighter around his head, Hysho continued down the drenched street, looking for some place to stay that would at the same time not make him stand out. It didn't matter that his horns were protruding from his hood, or that his tail didn't make a very good belt; he just needed to find some eats, some drink, and be on his way. Welkin was full of treasures, sure - a dragon's best friend! - but he could never have them, and the people he ran into sometimes... bleck. The factions with absolutely nothing were better than Welkin slums. But each opposition had its ups and downs...

"I should get back to the village." Addressing no one in particular, Zinku rose to his feet, tucked his hands in his pockets, and began walking the perimeter of the lake, North, to the village.
Name: Seth Cooney "evil little wolf"
Race: Lycanthrope
Age: 18
Appearance: Seth is short at just barely 5 foot. His hair curls in a rich black color accented by his piercing gray eyes. He wears a pair of black carpenter jeans along with a sleeveless black top, accenting his ghostly pale skin. He wears a pair of gray-black boots and a pocket watch in his right jean pocket. His hands are covered with a pair of gray gloves and a wolf pendant adorns his neck. He is lithe and is taught in the art of stealth. He carries a pair of sai for protection.
Bio: As a boy, Seth grew up in a rich household as an only child. While his father worked he befriended a bunch of peasants. As he got older his father grew ill and relative began trying to get his father's wealth. This past birthday, Seth's father died leaving him the property and money. Soon, Seth betrayed his peasant friends by taking them as laborers on his land. As the war waged, his land was burned along with many of his possessions. He wandered off of his previous land, now living in the slums.
Faction: Welkin
Additional Info: Being a Lycanthrope Seth forms a black-phase timber wolf. Seth can be very deceiving, he has no friends and travels Welkin after his loss of property. At times he can be a jerk he lives to have a friend or even a rival to keep him company.
Seth made his trek through the mucky slums barely noticing the figure looking for a place to stay. He ignored what appears to be some sort of dragon and continued on his way. Seth sighed his relatives took the land that he left burning. He no longer has any friends after turning his lesser friends into laborers. Now it seems that the people from his estate are hunting him. Shivering, Seth made a note to get a coat when he passed into the neighboring faction. Seth pulled his arms tighter around himself as his pendant swung on his neck catching what little light there was and making it shine.
As Hysho came to the entrance of a comfortable-looking inn, he noticed a small glimmer from something attached to a blurry shadow some ways down the road, looking behind him. It was the only bright thing along the road, and though short-lived, gave Hysho some hope of escaping the dull slums which he had ventured into.

Entering the inn, he found an empty lobby, and rather small, because the building was built vertical and on a small plot of land. Music from the bar next to it could be heard through the walls. As Hysho walked to the desk, the receptionist gave him an odd look, knowing for sure he wasn't human, but questioning if he even resembled one. Hysho removed his hood without hesitating, expecting the man at the desk to step back in awe - which the man did, and Hysho smiled, finding that amusing. "I would like a room. Is there one available?" He willingly pulled out three gold coins and some silver from the pouch within his cloak, held it out for the man to see, but did not drop on the desk.
"Certainly!" Exclaimed the man with a shiver in his voice. Not frequently would one come face to face with a dragon, since they normally kept to themselves. The man withdrew a key from under the desk, and placed it on the desk before Hysho. "The room on the key is three floors up."
"Thank you." Hysho dropped the coins on the desk beside the key, then moved his hand over the key and took it from the desk. He then moved to the staircase, and quickly soared up it to his room.
Once Zinku had made it back to the village, he greeted all the other early risers, then came to a stop at his own place. Where he lived wasn't much of a house as it was just a home, or even less, a place to stay. It had no walls, and the roof was constructed out of the leaves and branches of three small trees huddled together. Zinku wasn't the only resident of the village with a home such as this, but there were more people with structured houses than tree leaves and trunks. Either or, Zinku liked it, and never gave change a thought.

He searched through a large burlap bag for some breakfast, which wasn't difficult since the bag was full of fruit. He pulled out two lemons, then leaned against the northern tree of his place, placing one of the lemons in his lap. Removing a knife from his side, he used it to slice the lemon lengthwise into quarters. Although using a twelve inch blade to do the job of a two inch is rather annoying, it still gets the job done.

Despite all this, deep down Zinku was still concerned about what almost happened earlier that morning. The day will go well. He continued convincing himself, but obviously at a very slow pace.
Seth continued on his way eying the inhabitants in the slums as he passed. He briefly noticed a flier for his capture out of his peripheral vision. His family and friends were hunting for him still, but he feared the continuing rise in the reward for his capture. Seth rapped his arm tighter around himself as he ducked his head from the passing tavern. All these poor people think that being rich is living the good life, if only they knew, he thought as he pictured the scorn and jealousy on many slaves' faces. Seth sighed in lonely contempt, wishing that someone would care for him for the first time in ages.
Name: Asa
Race: Angel
Age: Ageless, but looks to be in her early 20's
Appearance: A beautiful figure, her angelic yet serious face is accented by layered dark blue hair with silvery bangs. Her golden eyes always carry a sad, yet doll like look in them. She wears a sleeveless dress of dark brown cloth, tied under her chest with a white sash. The dress is backless and the front ties across her chest. A hood connected to her dress is always on her head and a silver armband is on her left arm. ( link ) The only weapon she carries is a long black staff with blue runes carved into it. Her once white wings are now tainted dark blue.
Bio: An angel sent to earth to give help to those in need during the war. Spending years out of heaven, she has slowly forgotten her purpose and meaning. Being out of Heaven too long does this to angels, leaving them to be wanderers or fallen angels as they are usually called, doing whatever pleases them. When an angel has been left out of heaven, their wings get tainted slowly and as the years pass, will become solid black or red.
Faction: Detritus
Additional Info: She was sent to help out those in need and will continue to do so, but not knowing why. She is highly forgetful, almost seeming like a doll at times. She can sense feelings in people if they are really strong and can heal minor wounds. The reason her eyes resonate a sadness is because she can't remember why she is here in the first place, but still has the desire to help those in need. Also, because of forgetting alot of things, she has also forgotten her name. Her current name was given to her by a girl she saved.
As Rei gazes across the lake she notices a figure standing up and making his way into the town. She blushes, wondering if he heard her. She looks back up, to find that she no longer has him in site. Her cat-like curiousity overtakes her as she picks up her belongings and makes her way around the lake and into the town.

As she gets into the town, she looks around for him. As her eyes fix themselves on him finally, she begins to think to herself. Wait... Why am I following him? Won't he think that kind of weird? She quickly looks around, trying to make it seem like she's just passing by.

----------------------------------------------

The rain pours quite heavily in Welkin as the angel makes her way through the streets. Her dress drags along the wet ground and her feet are soaked and covered in mud. Her eyes make no movement as she makes her way around. Feelings flow through her as she continues, mostly of overwhelming saddness, hatred and greed. She scowls at the negative feelings, but stops suddenly behind Seth. Her eyes make the movement over his figure, feeling his saddness. Overwhelmed by her instincts, she follows him, unsure how to help him, but hoping that following him would bring more insite.
Wait, I know that smell... Zinku recognized the familiar scent of a demon's life force close by, as he quickly finished his first lemon. He sliced up the second lemon with some vigor, hoping to finish it before trouble found him. It seemed like a regular occurrence lately, for all kinds of things to search him out, and all for different reasons.

As he finished the lemon, he took the lemon peels and disposed of them into a small container, probably made of aluminum or tin, that he had found and thought handy as a trash can. He was about to leave his home, if it had not been for his neighbor, who conveniently came over to bother him about traveling - again.

"Zinku! What are you still doing 'round here? Having a long vacation?" The woman snickered as she leaned against his eastern tree, clothed in dirty yet durable green baggy pants and a white cotton shirt. "You need to get out of here, take a trip or two 'round Detritus and come back with some goodies for me!"

Ugh. "Mel, this is not the time. It never is. I'm fine just staying here, actually, and I've told you that how many times?" Zinku picked up the can of trash he had, and stood up, beginning to carry it to the waste site. He had completely forgotten about the demon, but just as easily, Mel was a bigger burden.
Sensing a presence behind him, Seth abruptly turned around coming face to face with an angel adorned by blue tinted wings. Seth put up a smile to befriend the one person who actually took notice of him. Quickly, he scanned her form with his gray eyes, but found no apparent threat. "Hi I'm Seth and you are?" Seth asked as he thought, hopefully I'll have an actual real friend for once. Then, if she is willing to travel with me I can get the hell out of this place.

Lounging in a plush chair, Anari began to scan through the newest bounties.

"Thief, escaped slave, escaped slave, vendetta, murderer," she murmured, sorting through the sheets, "Same old, same old. I haven't had a challenge in quite some time. Maybe I should hunt during the day, just to make it more interesting."

Anari, like any other vampire, hated the day, as it was when the accursed sun was out, but if properly shielded, could go out for periods of time. It was rather uncomfortable, but was sometimes necessary, especially when dealing with mortals.

"The sun will be covered by clouds today anyway; might as well take advantage of it," she decided, pulling on long, dark gloves and a hood that left her face completely shadowed, "I'll scout around and see if I can find the general wherabouts of any of the bounties, and then I can come back to plan if the weather clears."

That settled, the vampire headed out the door again, the papers tucked securely away in her cloak.
Rei jumped in surprise as she looked up to see Zinku walking towards her. He didn't seem to be paying much attention to her as he was talking to a woman. She quickly got out of his way, whispering an apology out of habit and pulled her hood over her cat ears tighter. She walked passed him, still highly curious about him, but decided it would be best to watch from afar. She made her way leisurely through the town. She'd put a hand up to tame her ears that were twitching to get the hood off and pulled it a bit tighter.

---------------------------------------------------------

Asa stopped as Seth noticed her. She watched his eyes look her over and then heard his question. She blinked her sad looking eyes as she waited for a moment. "My name is Asa. You seem troubled." She said, curious as to what she could do to help. Her wings shuddered and fluttered for a moment, getting off all the rain that had settled on them, then returned to being calm. The rest of her body, however, made no movement besides the slight movement of the chest as she breathed.
"I don't keep count." Mel smiled as she folded her hands behind her, following Zinku. "If I did, then you wouldn't."

Zinku shot her a harsh look, barely noticing the demon he was so concerned about pass by him. He paused for a second before getting back to arguing with his neighbor. "That's not the point, Mel. You don't understand where I'm coming from." He forced the lemon peels out of the can and into a waste bin, checking the can to see if he had gotten all of the peels out. "After you've traveled vast distances and escaped hazardous deaths, you'd want a vacation, too."

He turned around quickly to locate the demon who's energy bothered him so, but failed to find them. It was a great distress, wondering if they were out to get him, spy on him, or just mess with him. It created a raw feeling in the air around him.
