There are some people who live in a dream world
And there are some who face reality
And then there are those who turn one into the other.

Amaranth frowned. There was no one here yet. She was so hungry. However, even if the guests were here, she won't be able to feed on them yet. Oh, damn the ceremony! Damn the wait! The girl must abide by the rules or else she will be punished. What's their punishment? Well, it's a secret. Once, they enter, yes, once the humans set foot into the house, they won't leave. She wonder's who will get chosen to join their family. If any that is.
As soon as the brunnette was about to give up and go back to her room, someone knocked on the door. Her heart skipped a beat. Could it be? Their first guest?! Oh my! What wonderful news! Quickly, as much as her legs would allow her, she ran towards the door and pulled open the large wooden frames to greet their first guest. What a delicious looking meal. "Hello! My name is Amaranth. I shall be your host for today. Unfortunately, the normal inn hosts are out and will not return till sometime later. May I carry your bag so I can show to your room?" she said all in one breath. Her gold eyes wide with excitement and anticipation. She cannot hide how she truly feels.

The great events of life often leave one unmoved
They pass out of consciousness
And when one thinks of them they become unreal
Even the scarlet flowers of passion seem to grow
In the same meadow as the poppies of oblivion

The male quirked an eyebrow at the young female displayed in front of her. Somewhat small and petite but cute nonetheless. However, her clothing is what struck him odd. He knows this is a fancy place and all but she was dressed in old english clothing. Sorta like a modern lolita princess. Zane didn't even have a chance to say hello before the young girl started exclaiming in great enthusiasm. He just held the invitation out in front of him as she explained why she was greeting.

When she was done, he blinked a few times before her question registered. "Oh, no that's fine. I can carry it myself." He told her politely. The entrance hall was gorgeous. He can't believe people still live like this. And why him, out of all people, did they invite to their humble home? Aren't they afraid he might steal something? He think's not. He had to walk all the way here because there was no road leading up to the mansion. Even the taxi driver was confused on what direction to take. If it was for the map leading from his house to their's, they would have never have found this place. Come to think of it, why go through all that trouble for one person? Heck, for all their invited guests. He knew there was more.

The girl licked her lips and smiled at the man. What was he, three-four years older than her? A delicious age. They were just ripe for the picking. Pushing hungry thoughts aside, she nodded and grabbed his hand with her two pale ones. "Follow me then." She instructed. She pulled his hand a bit, testing him almost, before completely dragging him to where the guests rooms were. By the looks of him, he didn't pack heavy. Was he planning on staying for a while? Foolish human. "Whenever you need anything, you just ring a bell! Anyone from my family, or my sisters, the maids," she said obviously, "Will appear in just a blink of an eye." Amaranth wasn't kidding. They will, because that's what they are trained for.
"Oh by the way?" She asked, stopping mid-step on the stairs, "What's your name mister?" She didn't give him a chance to introduce himself. Her parents will kill her if they found out. Best to ask him now before they arrived in his temporary room. Only special guests get the suites. He isn't special...yet.

Zane didn't know whether that was a sexual action or something else. He was talking about the licking of the lips. However, she was young and he doubt it had anything to do about sex. But a cold chill went down his spine when he didn't know what it was for. He rather keep thinking it was a sexual intention. He was stirred out of his thoughts when the girl grabbed his hands with hers. They were small compared to his. Like a child. He blinked when she tugged a bit and he just stood there, his other hand keeping the duffle bag over his shoulder. Before he knew it, he was being dragged up the guest rooms.

"Is everyone in this home related?" he asked, since she mentioned the maids were her sisters. It was wierd. Didn't they hired anyone else? This place seems large compared to most mansions he has ever visited. But what does he know. He almost collided with her when she stopped. He blinked at her for a few seconds and he noticed that he has been blinking an awful lot lately and he must stop. "Oh, sorry. My name is Zane. Zane Lonehart." he said, not bothering the useless middle name. He hated it. Pickle.

Amaranth put her finger on top of her bottom lip, thinking over the name again and again. It was such a strange name. None of her other guests were named Zane before. It was precuilar. After a few seconds, she brought her hand down and smiled. Small, fang like teeth visible as she did so. It was an abnormality she had as a child. Though, it did help her chew now. "Nice to meet you Zane Lonehart. Please, keep following." she said. However, if the man didn't want to follow, she was going to drag him none the less.
"Every staff that works here is my family. We are all related one way or another. Either by father or by mother." She explained to him. She is related through her father. Her father was the one to invite her and thus she is his. The ones who invited you, are the ones who you are supposed to listen more obediantly than the other. It was a family rule that she does not even get herself. They were already up the second floor. "Ah! Here is your room." she said. Stopping in front of a well furnished door. It had strange carvings on it that seemed to stop the blood flow through out your body. His door carvings had demons feeding on the angels. You couldn't be able to distinguishing it at first but the man will realize this later. "Enjoy your stay." She pushed open the doors and pushed him inside before shutting then once again.

The girl was interesting to say the least. They just stood there for a while as she pondered about something. Imagine if he had given her his name. Oh, the embaressment. Actually...come to think of it, she sorta reminded him of his siblings. Two little annoying female brats. He felt like smacking her as he came to see her as his sisters. However, she then dragged him along once more up the stairs. "Ah..." This was becoming a nuisance.

He was suprised as she explained how the staff was related and was left confused in the end. "By your mother or father? What do you mean?" he asked her. However, she did not reply and just led him to his room. After a while, she exclaimed that the door they stopped in front of was his room. The door had wood carvings on it and he was going to inspect it a bit further when the girl swung them open and pushed him inside. He was about to retort when she smiled, catching him off gaurd and shutting the door in his face.

Zane just stood there. Speechless and enraged. "Talk about rude hospitality." he said and dropped his bag on the chair near the door. The room was quite elegent and the bed was huge. Did they expect a couple to sleep here? Or...just them? A small smile formed on his lips. He was going to enjoy his stay. Oh yes he was. For now...sleep was in order.

He felt he was being watched, sensed the pairs of eyes observing him from the windows. He looked up, just out of pure curiosity, but no one was there. A normal male of his age would probably shrug it off, and return to the business of his. A normal one. Not that he wasn't calling himself normal. He was just observant, curious. His glance arrived at the estate's door again, it was open, somebody left it open. He had knocked, but nobody answered. Too bad.

Pushing the heavily decorated barrier to the inner of the 'Sanctuary', as it was called by its household members, he was discovered to an impressive sight. More of a Buckingham palace. Just like the door, the room was filled with decorations, details and antics. He had pretty much heard of the Sanctuary's household members to like old tradition. His eyes raced through the hallway, not with special interest though. He wondered why nobody has appeared yet, to greet him at least. How rude. More irritated, was the fact that he made an effort to at least knock on the door, and still nobody noticed. Overrated business - manners.

No longer bothered to hold the black sports bag over his shoulder, he dropped it to the floor. It contained everything he needed, including clothes for the next fews days he would spend in the manor. All he had taken was pretty casual. He never actually bothered to pay attention to his clothes, but picked out only ones that would last for long. There were a few reasons for his pick, but one was certainly because he hated shopping for clothes, and tried to avoid it like fire.

As Amaranth was heading down to the first floor once again, she heard the door being pushed open. She stopped and strained to listen. Has she missed another guest? The fear of her mother or father finding out a guest has not been greeted the moment he or she entered the door overwhelmed her that she practically tripped when she began to run. Catching herself, her legs hurriedly moved to head down the stairs and run to meet whoever entered. Her golden eyes met red hair. "Forgive our rudeness!" she shouted from the stairs. She smiled sadly and jumped off the last 3 steps and stopped in front of him.
The girl was out of breathe and she inhaled deeply before bowing lightly. "Hello! My name is Amaranth. I shall be your host for today. Unfortunately, the normal inn hosts are out and will not return till sometime later. My apologies for not greeting you immediatly at your arrival. I was settling another guest in his room before you. Do you wish for me to carry your bags and show you to your room?" Yes, it was like a broken record player. She will repeat the same thing with every guest that shall arrive. Her eyes scanned the male in front of her. A little scrawny but they shall fatten him up in his stay. A smile formed on her lips as her eyes danced in joy. Amaranth stood motionlessly like a porcelian doll, waiting for orders and a name so she can commenced on showing him his room.

Matt could not hide his surprise when the girl hurried down the stairs, with concern and deep apologies. His astonishment swiftly faded away, and he raised a brow. As soon as he caught her in sight, he knew she was different. He didn't know how much, but that didn't matter. She looked about fifteen, standing in front of him with a warm smile. Old English clothing held her petite and porcelain figure, probably what he could expect from such a house. Old tradition, eh?

"Relax, darling," he smirked with amusement. "It's not the apocalypse." Her golden eyes shined with delight, just like of a child's at sight of a new toy. He could sense her excitement. He did not answer her immediately, instead reaching for the sports bag laying at his feet, swinging it over his shoulder with a swift movement. "Don't sweat, I'll carry it." The red-haired male continued to watch her with interest, still trying to figure out the difference between a normal girl of her age, and herself. "Lead on."

The girl giggled, extending her hand to cover her amused smile. "You never know right?" Amaranth winked. Maybe it was the apocalypse for her but for their guests...it was best to keep humor alive. The girl tilted her head to the side in a curious gesture as the man just swung his bag over his shoulder. What is it with men and their luggage? She has seen her brother ask many guests if he can carry their bags and many obliged. Or is it that she is female? Curious. When he refused to state his name and gestured her to lead, she grinned. Both of her petite, pale hands clasped around his and she giggled once more. "Follow me please!" she said and like the other, dragged him along. "By the way, what may I call you?" Amaranth didn't bother looking back but continued to pull on the mans hand up the stairs and onto the second floor. She was very excited.
Her eyes darted back and forth between the paintings adorning the walls. She can hear faint whispers comign from their mouths. Humans cannot hear. They cannot see. Their reflections displayed creatures not of this world. Yet they were blind to it. She inwardly laughed. A simple cruel laugh that will stop the man's blood where it stood. But from his eyes, she was smiling like a child showing a friend a new toy. Nothing out of the ordinary.

He studied her closely, a smile displayed on his features. "Indeed. Anything can happen." Reactions could tell a lot to a person like him, and hers did too. She was more than amused by his words. He did not protest when her smooth pale hands wrapped around his, but boy, he had to make an effort to keep up with her fast pace. She was practically running up those stairs!

They reached the second floor, as she continued to drag him down the corridor as if in a hurry. His gaze landed on the walls, numerous paintings dyed on them, and the line of doors. He wouldn't have expected they were waiting for such a big party. Her question directed his attention to her once more, as he replied simply,"That's Matt." He was never a big talker, but at least he wasn't one that would annoy everyone around with some nonsense babbling.

The two passed various doors. Some who were locked and some didn't even have a door knob. Those were private quarters. Amaranth just hummed a small tune and kept on smiling. She paused a bit in front of a door and tilted her head. She looked closely at the door and then looked back at the red-haired male. "Matt..." she repeated. She tapped her bottom lip with her index finger and took a moment to ponder on that name. "Lovely name." she said and smiled at him. She then shook her head on the door.
"I've met alot of people with a name like that. Some were very rude. You seem nice though. A man of few words?" she said, her gold eyes flashed a dangerous glint. "I'll have fun with you!" She laughed innocently and hurried to another door. She studied the wood carvings and smiled. "This is your room!" Her hands removed themselves from his and pushed against the door. They creaked opened and revealed a very well furnished room. The carvings on these doors displayed demons smirking and chasing down angels. The angels wings were torn if you studied it closely and they were smiling? Or was it something else. "If you need anything, you can ring a bell. Either my sisters or anyone near you shall arrive and fufill your every need." she said, pushing him inside the room and smiling. "Enjoy your stay!" Amaranth immediatly shut the door behind him and left to greet any other guest that shall arrive. She must also see where her beloved family has gotten to. Feeding the guests was primary need now.

He continued to follow her, noticing each change to the doors. Some without knobs, probably for the sake of the household members' privacy. He stopped abruptly trying not to smash into the girl. She had paused in front of one of the rooms and instead of swinging it right open, she seemed to think something through. About his name, as he later found out. "I wouldn't call it lovely. Just plain," he shrugged nonchalantly. He had never really cared, but he didn't like all that title s**t. Sir Matthew Kylar Smith. Uggh!

So most guys born with the name Matthew were rude, and he, himself was nice? Pe-lease. She didn't know him yet. But she seemed intrigued, especially that he was a non-talker. 'A man of few words', as she called him. He had to note that.

Her hands disappeared from around his, a shame really. He had come to like the smooth skin brush against his. They were in front of his room, which Amaranth opened for him with glee. Just like the rest of the house, they were well-furnished, full of antics of all sort. Before he had anytime to answer, he was pushed inside his room and shut the door in his face, or rather back. She was in a pretty hurry, again, probably to meet the next guests. The red-haired male clicked his tongue, turning his attention once again to the room. Boy, it smelled like an antique shop. It'd take some time to get rid of that smell. Walking over to the rectangular window, he flicked the silver handle, as it gave away, opening him to the fresh air.

So here he was. Inside the 'Sanctuary'. Now what?

...you can call me Christopher.
You can call me Christina...

The two were like peas in a pod. Never alone, never lost. They walked and talked as though they were normal, but where one went, the other followed. What mysterious forced, designed these beings. Guess we'll never know, but you'll be seeing..

The two walked side by side. Christina and Christopher were their given names. One was usually called Chris and the other Chrissy, but even that could get confusing. They had just gotten up to go get their things ready. They were the nightly entertainment. Chris was the DJ while Chrissy was the bartender. She could make the sweetest drink you've ever tasted, and have you liquored up in no time at all. They were also known as the sex dollies, for they would do it with just about anyone, anytime, anywhere, as long as both of them were in on it.

For now they walked down the hallway. Christina was getting Chris's hair up. Since he never put it up well himself, she almost always did it for him. It was never a big deal either. Hell, sometimes she practically dressed him. Especially after he asked for one of her special drinks. Giggling at a comment he made she wrapped her arms around his thin frame. Her head buried gently into his back. "Don't talk like that when we are out and out." She whispered unknowing that there was a guest around the next color. "I can't help it your sexy.." He purred softly. "I'd take you right here..right now..if we didn't have to get ready."

"s**t!" She whined softly.."Now you have me in the mood. You s**t head." She growled as they rounded the corner only to come face to face with their sister. She peaked out from around his back whenever Chris suddenly decided to stop. Her face turned a plush pink color as she looked at Amaranth. "Hi Sis!" She suddenly giggled running up to her and hugging her. This was just how Christina was. Her black locks bounced happily as she hugged her tightly before backing off slightly. "Yo." He said to their younger though technically older sister.
