Joseph Raiton

Sometimes the blind...

Joseph followed Melantha but said nothing. He occasionally looked back and saw a black plume of smoke coming from the direction of his house. As time passed the pillar grew smaller and then, a little while after that, faded all together.

...can see better then others.

Tattered wings and broken bones,
Bruised by words and bruised by stones
Flying to wherever she can escape,
Held together by hope and tape
Hiding in fear and hiding in shame,
Carrying their judgment and carrying the blame

Mel led the way quietly, luckily the way the the tunnel had pointed them was the right direction, and since his house was on the edge of town it would take a little less time.

They walked for an hour or two more, before Mel stopped them at a glade, it was a blueberry glade, with bushes all over. The bright blue dots colored the open space, and made it seem cheery. Of to one side was a small trickle of water over rocks, which she knew was pure, and near it a blackberry bush. "We'll stop here for breakfast." she said, since their original breakfast had been interupted. She'd cook him a real meal when they reached the house. She walked over to the water, knelt beside it and cupped a mouthful in her hands, and drank it.

Pulled from her freedom and pulled from her sky,
Pushed over the edge to see if she could fly
Ripped from her happiness and ripped of her wings,
Loved by nothing and afraid of everything
Pushed further without knowing how to fly,
Down falls the wingless angel rejected from her sky

Sometimes the blind...

Joseph kneeled down next to the stream and got a drink of water. He looked over at her and smiled. "It's not your fault. I hope you know that." He said. Styx nodded in agreement and drank from the water downstream. "They'd been planning to burn my house down for a LONG time."

She looked over at him for a minute before looking down "Yeah, but I pushed them to it..." she said but she gave him a small smile back. Now he'd be as lonely as she was, and that just wasn't right. Someone as nice as him, shouldn't have to be alone, she thought for a moment longer before realising he won't be completely alone, he's got me. Even if I'm not much. She stood up and started to pick blueberries at a rapid pace, putting them in her skirt. She piled them up until she couldn't fit anymore, and walked back to him, offering him some from the pile before taking a couple herself.

Joseph smiled before he picked and ate a few blueberries. "Was there somebody following you back to my house?" He asked curiously. There was a guy that would walk past his house and just glare at it. Joseph figured that dude must have finally decided that they'd waited long enough.

She looked down and nodded "He seemed really mad at me for some reason... I didn't even do anything!" she protested, upset. She ate a couple more berries before pulling a napkin from her pocket and setting them on there. She reached for a hair tie and began to braid her hair, getting it out of her face.

Joseph laughed a little to himself. "That guy is never happy." He said as he laughed. "He looks at everybody like he wants to kill them." Joseph looked at her and slightly frowned. "Personally I think it's because he has no friends or family." He said.

"I see...." she trailed off, feeling sorry for the man now. Perhaps all he wanted was attention, and that's why he'd brought the mob together to burn them out. They'd praise him now, for being so diligant, and for telling them that the witch was staying with the freak. She finished braiding her hair, and leaned back on her hands looking up at the blue sky. "We should reach my house around sunset." she informed him.

"Ok." Was all Joseph said in reply. He thought back to the angry man and felt pity for him. "If someone had just acknowledged that someone was there then he wouldn't have led them to set the house on fire." He thought before he took another drink of water. "We should get moving now huh." He said as he stood up.

She thought for a moment "I don't know... I think he wanted the acceptance of the group, more then he just needed someone to listen to him... based on what you've told me." she said "But yes, we should get going." she said as she stood, she picked up the napkin and tucked the berries away before starting towards her house again.

A wagon with a guy in it suddenly flew past the two, almost as if controlled by magic to go that fast. Minya chased it. "YOU'RE HEADED TOWARD A LAKE!" She yelled. "STOP RIGHT NOW!" Kurama was laughing and having fun making the wagon go fast until he heard about the lake (he did check, but didn't see a lake, but trusted Minya's words). He then tried to stop the wagon.. It stopped, but he kept going forward. He landed on his face. He did get up, but he had to cradle his arm. Just by doing all that he had broke his arm. Minya stopped running and walked up to him. "Well, I certainly warned you." She says. "Come on, to the doctor with you..." She looked around. "Wait, where are we?" She peered around. "Kurama, you got us lost." Kurama nodded. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to, Panda."

Sometimes the blind...

Joseph followed her to her house with his hands in his pockets and his eyes looking towards the sky. Little bits of light shined through the tops of the trees. There were a few gray clouds off to their right but they were very far away.

(lol. Joseph and Melantha are in the woods. I don't think a wagon would roll through there that well.)

((LOL, am I allowed to time skip now? or should I wait for Reincarntion..Period?))

(I'm not sure. Maybe you should flip a coin to decide. That's how I usually decide on things.)

I've been thinking about, all of those lies that you heard me say. I can't make them go away. Been thinking about all the mistakes you've seen me make. When I can barely hold on, you promise you won't let me go.
(Okay, heads I go for it tails I wait

and the result is!!!! Tails! Woot! Okay here we are!))

It was sunset when they arrived at mel's house she walked up to the door and unlocked it. She looked up to see Avani and Nere in the branches above. "There you two are! I've been worried about!" she called up at them, but her only reply was a soft coo-ing sound. She turned and smiled at Joseph "Welcome." she said before holding the door open for him and Styx.

And pins it with a star
Remember that you have a friend
Though she may wander far.
