♦X-Meggie.Aurelius-X♦
The worst foe lies within the self...
Meggie's eyes watched her brother as he pulled out one of the hairs from his ear. She noticed the nub where his tail was forming, and let her eyes widen only slightly as she watched the scientist. Well, it was certain now, Mizuki was in fact more welcoming than Dr. Klamp. If Meggie had ever met that man, there was no way that she'd have brought her younger brother to this guy. So I guess it's a good thing this hadn't been New York, 1999, eh?The worst foe lies within the self...
Dr. Mizuki stepped over and took the single hair from the boy and nodded, "This will do just fine." he said, before going over to his microscope, placing the hair under.
"Hmm..." was all he said, wondering something, standing back up he looked to the others, "Hmm..?" Meaghan asked, unimpressed by that being all he said. She folded her arms and stared at him waiting. "Is that all you have to say? Hmm?" she asked, "No no..." He went to get samples from Milla as well but she insisted she did it herself...
"What sort of troubles..?" he asked her, taking what she'd gotten for him, once she sat down, and took it over to a microscope right next to the other. "Very... interesting."
"What?! What's interesting? Are you going to tell us?" she was protective, remember? She wanted--no--she needed to know what was wrong with her brother. He sighed and looked to Meggie, shaking his head, "The cells are reacting to a electro current through the nucleus and are rapidly multiplying. I'd say this current of electricity is caused by the Mitochondrial Electro Pulse, but is much more severe than that. It's the same in both of your cells... If you like, the two of you may come and see for yourself. It's becoming more and more common these days an--" That's where he was cut off though, "So there's some weird stuff going on with their cells... So what? Doesn't it happen to everyone?" "Yes, but--" "Then why such a fuss?" "if you would listen!" his voice raised, causing Meaghan to finally back down, her eyes glaring at him.
"The neural path of the mitochondria seem fine, but when you look closer, they are putting out too much energy for the nucleus to handle, and are thus, in a way, taking over." Here we go again, a power cell taking over a brain. "That's impossible. It's like the heart taking over the brain." "That's precisely what it is, Miss."
She frowned, "Then just say it. What are they?" "Neo-Mitochondrians of sorts, I'd say. The legend returns. I'm sorry to say, but there's nothing else that could explain it."
Meaghan frowned a bit more and shook her head, "I don't believe it...." she muttered, rolling her eyes, waiting to see what the other two had to say...
