"Find the Angel, and help bring peace back to our land.." Those were her mother's last words just moments before she passed, the bodies and her and her son were soon engulfed in the flames brought by evil intent. The scene seemed to play endlessly in Fubuki's mind like a broken record, and no matter how much she thought, she could not come to find a direct start in her journey. Find the Angel? How was she to perform such a task when she had no leads? Furthermore, it could be anyone. Angels didn't always have to have wings visible to the naked eye, and Fubuki was already prepared to give up the task. However, the words, the last memory of her mother's fading face remained hammered into her brain, never allowing the girl to forget.
She wasn't anyone important, just another of the many individuals who wanted the terror that was now the world to end. So many lives had been lost, so many lands destroyed, so many already lay in ruin and waste. Those who lived were unfortunate to be taken in as slaves, and Fubuki cringed at the thought of the treatment they might be receiving. No, she couldn't, she wouldn't abandon them!
Fubuki rubbed her tired eyes, looking up to the canopy of green as birds chirped their peaceful songs, a rabbit or two hopped away in fear of being someone's next meal. All seemed well in the forest at least, but for how long? Time would only tell until this place became another victim to Shai's unforgiving hand. It had been a week since she started, she took her mother's sword into her hand, the red jewel at the hilt and the blade shining with brilliance. Staring at the weapon Fubuki once again became unsure. Her father's unwanted words rang in her head. He found her useless, unskilled, and told her she would not amount to anything. her delicate hands upon the blade tightened. No, she would prove that fool wrong!
"But how can I when I don't even know where to begin...?" She mused.
The dark-haired girl walked further through the forest, taking in the scenery of the wood while her feet themselves made soft steps, barely disturbing the woodland's quiet nature. Suddenly, something caught her eye in the distance. Through the trees was a color unfamiliar to the forests own. What could it be, she wondered. Her curiosity was getting the best of her, and only sought to push her forward and investigate the object.
Fubuki's steps softened even more, to keep herself from being noticed. Whether it was alive or not, dangerous or not, she couldn't take any chances of letting the thing take the first strike, should it attack. Closing in, she grew nervous, until she finally noticed the material which made the cocoon like object.
...Feathers...?
A winged creature perhaps, or a demon using some form of trickery? These days it was hard to trust anyone, or anything. You never knew who might be Juuishi. Finally she stood within a few feet- three at the most- before the figure. She waited a moment. Little or no movement, she grew even more curious. Fubuki slightly cleared her throat, took a few more steps forward, and reached over, poking the soft feather wings. Within a moment she took another step back, but instead of drawing her weapon, she spoke, her voice soft and gentle.
"Hello there..?"
