She heard the person next to her say something, but decided he wasn't talking to her, and took a sip from the large cup of Pepsi she made her mom buy her.

Jerry sighed and looked over to the girl and around the empty food court figuring that corp he was forced into had something to do with it. He sighs again dropping his head slightly.

She looked over at the boy, noticing just how sad he looks.

"Um, excuse me, are you alright?" she called, standing up and walking over to him. "I'm Nell by the way."

Jerry smiled slightly since he didn't talk to others often enough. "I am fine. Names Jerry..." He said not able to remember his last name since he hasn't used it since he was about 5 when the corp took him from home. "Just call me Jerry."

"Hi. Are you sure? You seemed pretty...um...sad about something." she said, and sat down across from him.

Jerry shakes his head with a smile. "I am fine. Why do you ask?" He said as he leaned forward his tail swaying into view.

"You just seem...sad..." she said, before looking at his tail. "Whoa...nice tail." she commented, and grinned.

Jerry chuckled and nodded as he looked to the tail knowing the labs were responsible for it being there. "Ya but it tends to stick out like a sore thumb." He said playfully.

She giggled. "I can't imagine why..." she replied.

Jerry chuckled and nodded. "Ya so what brings you to the mall?"

She sighed. "My sister is a mall-obsessed 10-year-old. My mom told me to come with her and my sister...and I got lost..." she explained, laughing nervously. "You?"

Jerry sighed slightly not sure what to tell her. "Well I work for Global. Lunch break." He said know Global had a lot of bad rep for experimenting on humans.

She raised an eyebrow. "Why? That place sounds terrible." she said idly, keeping her eyes on the table, and resting her head in her hands.

Jerry sighed. "I have ... a contract with them. I dont like working but i have to." He said with a weak smile as his tail waved back and forth slightly.

"Oh, that must suck. Is that where you got the tail from?" she asked, then saw her mother, and scribbled down her cell phone number. "Call me ok?" she said, and slid the paper at him and rushed away.
