mickey left his 'lair' at 10:30, maybe 11:00... he'd spent most of the morning with breakfast (a hot pocket warmed up in his microwave, which had been stolen from a local store) checked his sound traps (nothing had sprung them, but one went off on its own and he had to reset it, and adjust it a little) then he checked the generator (it had been here since he took up residence, and ran on gas... it needed to be refilled today) before coming out... he had some money left from yesterday's antics, so he'd eat out at a fast food place he knew... then he went in, ordered a bacon cheeseburger, got himself some sweet tea to drink, and strummed on his guitar while he waited on his food... "just an average tuesday for the mickster..."

I can look in the mirror,
And see me looking back.
Isalie-Grace-Gem
But the girl I am is different,
Then the girl looking back.

Isalie opened her dark eyes, her head was pounding, as she sat up quickly. She touched her forhead with her right hand, rubbing her temples. She heard millions of voices all at once and she closed her eyes tightly, in the mornings all she did was hear voices. Isalie sighed softly as she started to stop hearing the voices, it always happened like this every morning. Isalie could control her powers, but the moment she fell asleep that control vanished. She frowned as she looked around her room, the sun was blarring in from the window curtains. Isalie stood up as she walked over to the window and opened the curtain, her eyes flinched as the sun was bright; she rubbed her eyes and reopened them. Now she could see around, there was a great deal of people outside, running around living there every day lives. Isalie frowned once again, she wished she could do that, but because she was part of the organization she couldn't really do that. She turned her attention away from the window and looked around her room, she walked to her dresser and opened it, searching the contents for something to wear. She found something that was suitable to wear and placed the clothing on. She made her bed and then went to the bathroom, she brushed her teeth, washed her face and brushed her hair. Isalie looked in the mirror and a tear almost ran down her cheek. When would see her twin again? When would she see the mirror image she was used to? Isalie didn't know, but she hoped one day she would.

Isalie left the bathroom and went down stairs to where the others were the Essence group was. She went into the kitched and looked around in the fridge, she didn't really feel like eating, but her stomach was saying otherwise. Isalie searched the contents of the fridge and grabbed the jug of orange juice, she poured herself a glass and made toast. She sat down at the table and started to eat, her stomach feeling better then before. She drank the contents of her glass and put her dishes away. Isalie went back up to her room and grabbed a book she was reading, it was very interesting and she had wanted to finish it before the day ended. Isalie went back down stairs and into the kitchen where she sat down at the table. She opened the book to the page she last read and started to read it. Her eyes darted from word to word, she was a quick reader, and as she flipped the page her eyes darted faster and faster until she got dizzy. Isalie closed her eyes again and rubbed them, she shouldn't do that every time she read it would wreck her eyes. She reopened her eyes wide and blinked a couple of times until they focused back onto the words. Isalie closed her book, she was getting to a boring part she frowned as she wondered on what she was going to do that day. There seemed like the days always began slow but they ended fast, Isalie wondered if she would have any time today to search for her sister again. She was sick of not having her around and angry that she had not found her yet. Isalie stretched her arms widely, her back popped and she smiled. She hated when her back hurt and the only way to fix that was to pop it. She smirked as she got up and went back up to her room to put her book away. She sat on her bed and grabbed her lap top that was laying on the floor, she typed in her sisters name and pressed search. She was on the fourty fourth page on the computer, everyone it seemed had the same name as her sister nowadays. She laid on her bed as she searched hoping that maybe she would find her today.

She has the same eyes,
She has the same hair,

Her inner appearance is, however;
Not the same.

KATAN // TRESBANE

Katan rolled to tap his alarm, eventful night before last forcing him to sleep in until his headache could be appeased. That's the rub with telekinesis. It could give one a wicked headache when operated under exhaustion and physical duress. But he was revived now, tramping a lazy dirge to the shower and twisting the shower knobs until steaming water woke up the last of his sleepy nerves. Some time later, about fifteen minutes give or take a few sighs and he was towel drying his dark hair; pulling perfectly pressed clothing over his toned frame with uniformed familiarity.

"Well then..." He resigned to his own reflection, buttoning his tailored jacket and testing the leather of his boots before walking out into the hallways of P.O.W.E.R.S. The soft trill of an elevator waited for him and took him to the mess, bureaucratic surroundings offering little to no distraction from the mundane. Everything was becoming robotic lately. Katan wanted a dangerous mission, an opportunity to flex his power and strike fear into those ignorant of his strength. Only a fool would make him an enemy now; now that he was more than a man.

This is from the Head, Mr. Tresbane.

Katan turned to notice the robotic dumbwaiter in the elevator, always assuming it would be there and lifeless to him, not even responding when the preferred floor was requested. But apparently it could be used as a messenger as well and as the young man took the envelope, the robotic helper backed off and resumed his task of operating the machine. It made sense to leave a message with the dumbwaiter since few could move about the fortress of a building without stepping into the elevators.

Still...what did the Head want today? Seek the scriptures; keep E.S.S.E.N.C.E. from finding them. I grant you leave to search as you see fit, but you will achieve quick success or be harshly penalized. You won't be alone in this mission, but I know how you detest partners. Perhaps a solo campaign for now with slip beneath their radar. I don't need to remind you of the importance of this mission. E.S.S.E.N.C.E. must not retrieve them before we do.

"Peachy." He mumbled and looked with a grim expression at the mess or cafeteria that opened in the doorway before him. The letter was ripped and crinkled as he ate, satisfied to take a bowl of soup and wonton drops from the chef as he walked to a corner table. The letter felt course over his fingers and Katan frowned as he continued ripping. Where to start about these 'scriptures'. It was all frustratingly cryptic and perfectly mysterious, but perhaps the best course of action would be to see what the opposition knew of these scriptures first, compare notes per say. Best to make sure they weren't already far ahead. Though he doubted it, most of the E.S.S.E.N.C.E. kids were considered mere snot-nosed children by the P.O.W.E.R.S. This mission could prove pitifully easy if it meant stealing the scriptures from them.

((Lemme know if the letter is over stepping my bounds - its just that POWERS seems sort of lonely in here so far and I wanted to get things rolling. Again sorry if this is too much.))

The future
What can you see

K ate's sketch was interrupted by a speck of silver starting to form again on the corner of her eyes. great, another one. Pushing it forward she saw only glimpses of the ...E.S.S.E.N.C.E head quarters? They had gotten the information, but something was missing, the location. Even so they were getting ready, and locating it didn't seem to be much of a difficult thing to do. She let the image fade and sighed. They already knew.. how troublesome. Scanning the cafeteria Kate found Katan, one of the teens in which was just as reserved and liked to be alone as anyone else. His power was…that’s right, Telekinesis. One of the powers which Kate thought would be very handy in life. He was ripping up something while eating his breakfast. Finishing her own and the now detailed drawing of the church's corridors Kate got up and made her way over to him. Sitting herself down to the table next to him she observed the piece of paper, and curiosity knawled at her. To make an illusion so strong that it would take over someone’s mind and make them do what she told them to do was something she had learned but was way too difficult to do for such a matter, also it drained her out almost just as much as the person she would do it to, so she chose the simpler option. Ask. Though she knew she wouldn’t get a direct answer she started with a simple question.
"You've got the text am I right?"

(( The letter is fine, just make sure you dont take it too far, you're just as strong as anyone else, its just difference in power.))

KATAN // TRESBANE

Katan heard a brush of feminine steps and looked towards the sound to see a girl, Kathrine? No, Kathline. She was petite and held a pair of knowing eyes, both of which were currently fixated on the shards of his memo and he cleared his throat quietly as her question came to his ears. Thank god, for attractive females or the prying inquisition would've done nothing, but annoy him...still the soothing chords of a pretty girl made him cast her a wry smirk as if to say 'You should know better than to ask.'

"We all have our orders, busy as ever. Now...." He sighed, pushing away the remains of his food to draw a napkin over his mouth and return to looking at Kathline with a shrug of his broad shoulders. "You're that precog, right? So...do you even need to ask?" He said with a challenging smile, sweeping the scraps of paper into his palm and flinging them towards the nearest trash receptacle. The distance was too far, but the pieces spun and weaved their way into the bin, easy stretch of his power carrying them to their proper resting place before he scooted his chair out as if preparing to leave.

"If you think you are tagging along, it'd be best to reconsider. I cannot afford to be distracted...however....you probably know all about this unholy business anyway." He paused, moving lengthy fingers through his dark hair as he took in the possibility of having a precognitive P.O.W.E.R. on his side of the chessboard - telling him exactly what precautions to take and where E.S.S.E.N.C.E. was moving their pawns.

"Actually I take that back. You help me find these....scriptures and I'll make sure you don't get maimed or muddied along the way." He offered in a quieter tone, prepared to negotiate further should she refuse and he would have to turn up the charm. Thank the gods for the poignant vanities of the young and easily swayed...and thank his mother for her sweet and endearing eyes; angelic features to hide a thespian's facade.

((Duly Noted.))

But the girl I am is different,
Then the girl looking back.

Isalie closed her computer, her head was aching once again, and it wasn't the fact she was hearing people's minds, it was the fact she was starring at a computer screen for a long period of time. Isalie got up and went down to the cafeteria where some of the other members of Essence were sitting there talking. She looked over at Marcus and smiled at him, with a quick nod. She sat down besides him and started to play with her hair, twirling it in her fingers. She wondered what was going to happen today, and what Power was up to. She disliked them, and would do everything in her power to stop them. She looked over at Ali, she controlled elements and Isalie wondered how interesting that would be to have elemental powers. The only power Isalie had was Telekensis, she didn't think it was that important as some of the other powers the Essence group had. Isalie got up and grabbed a cup of coffee, she drank her coffee black, she hated milk with a passion it was disgusting to her. She sat back down in her seat and took a small gulp of coffee. The warmth of the cofee soothed her throat. She opened her mind and she heard a woman trying to scream, it was as though she was getting strangled. Isalie listened to her mind, as she heard how she didn't want to die, Isalie closed her mind instantly as she placed her left hand on her face and closed her eyes quickly and tightly. She was trying to think of something else, to get her mind off, of what she just heard. At that moment the toaster flew across the cafeteria and slammed into the wall. Isalie looked up and bit her lip, crap, she thought to herself. She knew everyone would know it was her.

She stood up and walked over to the toaster and picked it up, she placed it back onto the counter where one of the cafeteria ladies gave her a weird look and walked away from Isalie. Isalie frowned, everywhere she went people thought she was weird when something strange happened. Isalie shrugged to herself, that was life. She was thinking of the Powers corporation again, and her eyes narrowed, she wanted to destroy all of them. A smile spread across her lips, she was bored at that moment but all she could think of was being angry at the Powers corp. She drank more of her coffee, her sister popping into her mind again, she frowned at this, why did they have to be seperated? That was the question that always popped into her mind, why? They were always together and now that they weren't it was like someone ripped Isalie in half. She wasn't hole any more and she wanted to be desperately. She never told anyone in the Essence corporation that she had a twin sister, she didn't think it was really necessary to tell any of them. She would find her sister herself, hopefully one day. Isalie felt her phone vibrating she grabbed it out of her pocket and read the memo that she had to report to the vice's office immediately. Isalie smiled, maybe she would finally have something important to do. She finished her coffee and put her cup away as she walked out of the cafeteria. Isalie walked down the hall way and found the Vice's office, she knocked on the door and waited for an answer, she didn't want to just walk in and disturb the Vice.

K ate suppressed a laugh when he had given her a smirk and the comment on how she should know it already.
“You're that precog, right? So...do you even need to ask?” Yes because I would know everything happening to everyone just because I can see. She glanced at the show of his powers before smiling at herself, well that certainly would be handy. His reaction to her ‘tagging along’ was expected, for no one seemed to like to work together anymore. Though that was not what she was thinking, she was not the one who had gotten a private note from the head. She was only treated ‘specially’ by the head when her sight was needed.
Through a small time of reconsider however he seemed to come to his senses about having her with him when on the mission. It would be much easier. She laughed however when he said he’ll make sure she wasn’t muddied or maimed along the way. Did he think she was that defenseless? With a flick of her hand she let her illusion answer.

The small church in which the scriptures were in floated about 3 inches off the table, a small figure of Takan then appeared at the entrance, about to open the door. Unfortunately he wasn’t the only one who wanted the scriptures, a wolf attacked from behind, and though Takan had dodged in time however he still got a small slash on the side of his arm. Pushing the illusion onto his mind Kate gave his arm the slightest of pain before wiping away the image and sending him a sweet yet warning smile. Kate pushed herself up and pulled her face closer to his, using her index finger she traced the outline of his cheek and pulled away after speaking in her honey dew voice.

“I can take care of myself. The question is, can you take care of yourself?”

This was certainly entertaining. Leaning back onto the table behind her Kate checked her phone, One more hour until head out time.

Patrick "Réticent" LuBlont

Since LuBlont had eaten at home before he had ventured towards the E.S.S.E.N.C.E. HQ, he had no reason to attend the lounge area this morning, however, he was keen on the idea of a nice warm cup of tea, before his office would be overrun by teenagers. As he made his way to the staff-entry of the kitchen, he wondered how many teens would be willing to take this mission. Gathering all six of them and shoving them off in random directions seemed to be a waste of time, in LuBlont's opinion. After all, they knew nothing of the location of these mysterious scriptures, so having them all scattered for the winds at random destinations seemed... well, pointless, which was exactly why he had made the mission for volunteers only. However, should all six show up at his little gathering, some would have to be picked out. Luckily, we're blessed with a few lazy ones, LuBlont mused in his mind.

Making his way into the kitchen, LuBlont was met by polite greetings and acknowledging nods of heads. Morning, sir. What can I do for you, sir. Are you feeling better, sir. The title 'sir' was thrown at LuBlont from every side, everywhere he went within the HQ. Of course there was a point to it. He was their superior and he held the power to hire and fire as he pleased, though the title 'sir' slowly seemed more and more redundant to him. The use of the word especially bothered LuBlont, when it was obvious that the person who spoke it, held no respect for him; that the person was clearly bathed in reluctance and unprovoked hostility towards LuBlont. That's the life of a boss, LuBlont usually told himself. Or rather, the life of every human being. Of course there would always be people more or less fond of you, however this rational fact did not make the paradoxical use of the word ‘sir’ less bothering.

LuBlont had barely returned to his office with his tea from the kitchen, before the first knock on the door was to be heard. He made his way around his desk, eyes lingering at the door. Lowering himself in his comfortable chair he heaved in enough air to utter the words "Come in."
The time wasn't even 11:30 yet, and he wondered who this person was and if he or she was very excited about the mission, to arrive this early. Then again, there was always the possibility that the person wasn't one of the teens. He couldn't tell; LuBlont might have been able to pinpoint people's inner emotions but he couldn't look through doors, after all.

................ Alysson finished chewing her bite and looked to the shapeshifter. Her phone was vibrating in her shoe and she looked down "I guess I am going on the mission" she said as she touched the screen on her phone. She read the text and sighed "Well I am going to get ready" she said with a little laugh. The text was fifteen minutes old giving her only enough time to get to her room and brush her teeth from breakfast.

................ Stepping from the cafeteria she let her wings expand and flapped them. The dust and dirt the janitors couldn't get rose from the ground and she pushed off from the ground. It took hardly any time to get up floors. She passed the individual floors watching the people milling around. She grinned as she landed infront of her room.

................ Upon entering there was a messenger leaving information on the bed. Alysson just ignored him and the info, she would just listen when the Vice told her what they were doing. She walked into the bathroom and squeezed the toothpaste onto the toothbrush. She ran hot water on it and began the small circular motions on her teeth. She spit into the sink and rinsed her mouth. Alysson left the bathroom and headed off the the vice's office.

KATAN // TRESBANE

Katan tore his gaze from Kathline to watch her little spectacle on the table, finding himself smile as the miniature was hurt, then wince with a hiss as the girl forced him to feel pain. His brows furrowed and his temper flared; wishing for a moment to lift her from the table and pin her fragile body against the nearest wall. This partnership was going to be a tad strained if he would be forced to bow to the whims of a pretty....yet precocious precog' the entire time.

He looked with cool eyes at her sticky sweet mocking voice, answering in his own sour note as he moved to bat away her hand, but she was already leaning back and checking her phone. "Do that again to me and I'll be obliged to enlighten you of your weaknesses, Miss. Kathline." He murmured to her over the table, adjusting his coat and touching the weighted girth of his belt where his swords lie in waiting; icy steel waiting for action.

"And we'll just see if you find me capable. I'd hate to ruin the surprise for you now when you seem to be shocked so very rarely." He finished, tapping the table and he looked up at Kathline with a harder stare. "Don't misinterpret what I said however, I can't have you being hurt on this mission or you would slow me down considerably. Not to mention I need you in perfect condition for your visions to lead me to the scriptures. So if the moment comes...allow me to take the wound for you so that you can continue on your own." He explained, speaking matter-of-factly' and reaching into his pockets to pull his leather gloves over sinewy fingers, hiding their pale skin.

"Sometimes pride must give way to reason, Miss Kathline. In this case, you are the one with the sight and know all to guide us to the scriptures. If push comes to shove, you are more vital to this mission......Now, is my meaning clear?" He finished without breaking the icy stare, dark hair framing his gaze before he breathed and moved his head to the side to check a wall clock and wait for the moments to count down.

"hmm... not that great... still early, isn't it?" said mickey to himself as he ate, eventually opening his cell phone to see the text message his phone had been ringing about for a few minutes... it simply read:
sacred scriptures assignment taken,
location: ???
operatives involved: Katan tresbane
description: recover scriptures before E.S.S.E.N.C.E. agents do, return to base with scriptures
importance: high
relevance: possibly magic scriptures, could increase power.
notes: this is morgan from mission assesments, know you were looking to cause some mayhem in the orginization. only helping because your 'anonymous admirer' said he/she/it would kick my a** if i didn't. he/she/it's definetely capable and would love it. end of line.

then mickey responded with:
sounds cool. what's with the tron reference? who's 'anonymous admirer'?

and got back the words 'i like tron. and she said she'd kill me if you learned he/she/it's name'

then mickey smirked and walked towards the POWER headquarters, hoping to tail that Katan guy as he left... didn't that name sound familiar somehow?

H is reaction was surprisingly similar to the way she predicted he would respond. She could feel anger from him when she had mocked him, it was obvious that the only reason he did nothing to her was because she was a key on this mission. On any other he wouldn’t have even spoken to her, and neither her to him. Enlighten her with her weakness? Oh she had many, but so did any other human or humanlike being, so she never did mind having them. Her eyes glanced at the blades he kept at his side when he straightened his coat. Though they weren’t pocket sized like hers they were more then enough to slash someone in half. Pushing the thought out of her mind Kate returned her amused gaze to his cold stare. Surprise her? Well he could try, to be honest nothing these days seemed to surprise her. Even so the head did give him a private message, but that meant nothing in the field she worked in.

Kate had kept a steady calmed face at Katan but let herself smile at the comment on pride and reason. So at least he had a brain. Getting another buzz from the phone in her hands, Kate read it quickly before replying to his obvious question.

“Your meaning has been clear since the beginning Mister Katan, now shall we be on our way? You know how the head gets when the rules are broken.”

Putting away the phone Kate grabbed her half finished cup of coffee off the table before starting on her way.

KATAN // TRESBANE

He held back a grimace as Kathline practically hissed back a 'mister' at him and he glanced down at his own pocket as the phone inside buzzed, no doubt identical to the message she was reading and he rose to follow while abandoning his finished food to the cleaning crew. He stole a glance at her hour-glass silhouette from behind, knowing that she would probably notice or already know that he was doing this....but he was male and must be suffered such discrepancies. He was a mutation, not a robot void of emotion.

Thus far she had been straight to the point and all business, which was refreshing for one such as Katan who was frequently approached by the female members of staff and P.O.W.E.R.S. Call it the curse of Narcissus, but all he ever seemed to give president to was himself and his own ambitions. After all, the only reason he stayed loyal and obedient was because the organization promised him further power, further ability to cease his existence as a man...to make him more.

"After you, Miss Kathline." He answered in a soft murmur, persisting to remain civil and polite whether she enjoyed the reverence or not. He called all the fellow ranked officials Miss or Sir, using it as a tool to not get too attached when they would turn up missing or dead. Yet this amiable precog' seemed to not enjoy the term too much. Oh well, she could call him as she liked; though the term 'Mister' seemed forced from between her teeth. Either way, it was amusing to hear annoyance from such a usually stoic young woman.

It takes two...

Jetta-Devona-Gem

A late to bed late to rise kinda girl, Jetta jogged down the stairs. Her hair in sloppy pigtailed buns tied up with her usual navy blue ribbon. She was dressed in plain black jeans and a black ruffle-sleeved blouse with a swoop neck. She twirled the strings of her blouse's collar around her fingers as she hopped down the last step and looked around.

Once she walked through the living room and into the kitchen she got goosebumps when her bare feet padded along the cool floor. "Coooooold." She whined as she tiptoed along the cool floor and scavenged through the cupboards. She found a half empty box of poptarts and pulled out a bag. With the bag hanging from her teeth she whipped open the frigerator door and grabbed out the milk. She opened it and sniffed. EW! Yuck! Well, that was long old and overdue for a garbage visit. So, she stuck it back in the frige and grabbed for the SunnyD instead. She took the whole gallon and walked back into the hall from the kitchen.

She let her bag of poptarts fall into her hands and shoved the SunnyD under her arm,
"Anybody home? Helloooooo?!" She hollared, her big mouth did come in handy dealing with such a big place with so many teenagers.

Jetta sighed, looking around again. Maybe she had missed them? Her luck she was probably suppose to be somewhere but of course she wasn't. She was kind of the slacker of the group but after all she did have a lot more "important" things to worry about. Like my sister. But that was a fruitless search. Every yahoo, google, and bing search was a dead end. Every time she asked a higher-up in POWER for some help she got half a** answers and more questions arose. In other words she was screwed. It was as if her sister's existence had been completely wiped out.

Opening the poptarts and biting down on one she continued to look around. "Ammee bowee thwerah?" Anybody there? She asked with a mouthful.

But for now...one will simply have to do.
