Welcome to the year 2010. All across the world there are an increasing amount of reports about strange events occurring across the globe. Of course this sort of thing has continuously happened throughout our history- but all the recent events have been robberies. And on every occasion, when investigators looked at the crime scene, they found the strangest things: Completely mutilated corpses, bullets laying on the ground, other signs of destruction. This however wasn't the strange part. The oddities were actually the stories from the survivors who accounted for the event. Their statements all sounded more like something from a fairytale than a real crime scene.
There is a criminal on the loose with odd and inexplicable powers. To the world, the robber was merely a clever criminal - the stories simply exaggerations. However, to the few people of a world hidden within our own, they knew the cause: This criminal was using artifacts. Special items that possess mystical properties and secret powers. Normally items like these were unusual and quite rare, consisting of items from fairytales or items that belonged to famous, and sometimes disturbed, people. The world of the artifact owners now look upon this new exploitative criminal thinking "Should I stop him?" Or "This has nothing to do with me, I will go on with my life."
So, which will you choose?

Ok for anyone who is confused about the setting, the setting is around the world, (check RP LOCATION for the current plot location in the updates section) check the updates for where the plot is taking place. The reality is basically our reality, with the exception of the artifacts and the bloodlines. otherwise technology is modern.

2. no godmoding, everyone are basic humans, with the exception of those who have bloodline powers. This include power playing, auto hitting, etc.

Ok, this is probably some of the most important information I can provide, the artifacts. Ok Artifacts are basically items that either have appeared in history, or owned by a famous or disturbed person in history, and their spirit, so to speak has possessed the items. Each item has a power, but depending on the item's power, it can cause negative effects on the user. In other words, the powerful the item, the more of a negative effect it will have on the user. This is because the user was not the artifact's original owner.
Now some examples: these are some examples of artifacts for all you people out there trying to come up with your own.
Jack the Ripper's Knife: when stabbed in a person, it caused the victim to be completely paralyzed and cannot speak, as long as the knife is buried somewhere in the victim.
The Shield of Perseus: The legendary shield of perseus, the greek hero who defeated Medusa. this shield has the power to focus sunlight into a powerful laser like attack.
Pen of John Hancock: This pen has the power to make whatever is drawn with it to come to life, but drains the user of their health everytime it is used.

Ok, next part, blood lines. ok artifacts are not always physical items. Sometimes they are the blood of a person. This means one who is related to a famous person in history, or has the blood of "gods" running in their veins. These men and women do not know they are related to some powerful being, these men and women are just thought to have special powers, but with every power comes a weakness. Since they are not the original being, they do not have the being's complete power, also due to ages of outside breeding has diluted the blood, making it less powerful. Though these men and women are considered artifacts themselves. REMEMBER CHARACTERS DO NOT KNOW THIS!!!

History: Yokai was born with a Twin sister and was raised on fairy tales and stories, he became so interested in them, he grew up and became a museum curator at the age of 18. One day the museum got a new item known as Jack the Ripper's knife, he became entranced by it and stole it, and replaced it with a copy. no one knew this, he became obsessed with artifacts and continued to steal any that came into his museum. Oh I forgot to mention he worked in the Smithsonian. He eventually went insane when apparently the Ark of the Covenant came to the museum, this is when Yokai turned to his life of crime, he stole the ark and now spends his days stealing artifacts trying to figure out how to open the ark, and see what is inside.

Ever since then, he has been trying to train himself to use the Feather correctly, and been trying to fight for the good of things, instead of evil.

Recently he has used his mind manipulation object to get his own apartment and things he wanted. As for his feather in his possession one day while skating it simply came in to his attention when it floated down getting caught on his coat, The color and look of it made him think it could be something like his key and he soon learned he was right. More recently he felt that he could be doing more so he has been using his key to travel around and get some excitement in to his life.

Personality: She is a very sweet woman when she is in the mood. At times she will hold grudges at something that could start up her rage. When she is in the mood she will help others, but when she isn't she may just have a little attitude to them.
History:She had a normal life for a most part. Her family is a bit odd though. She comes from the Andre line but since she was a female her last name is changed to Andra. Her family was very sercetive. She hated it and wanted to know why. She found out when she hit her teenaged years. She had strong cravings for raw foods and found if she didn't eat raw foods at least a couple of times a weeks she would get sick and weak. Her canines were rather long as well as sharp. Her dislike for the day grew as the sun started to burn her skin. Now that she was older she had found a way that she could walk in the light without getting cooked. Naturally she was strong but that was not her special ability. She found out because of the blood she carried, she aged very slowly and she could not get sick from normal illnesses. Her eyes had the ability to freeze a person in place for couple of minutes at a time. If need be she could send them into seizures. This was what got her into trouble in her teen years. Already she had a record with the police. It was nothing too bad so she didn't stress over her. Right now she is just traveling the world having graduated from college when she was just 17. Her parents were supportive of her but when she was around 19 they had a huge fight. Ever since, not a word has been spoken between them. Now she lives her life day by day. Her job is not up for discussion but it makes her money so she was not complaining.

Personality: She is a very sweet woman when she is in the mood. At times she will hold grudges at something that could start up her rage. When she is in the mood she will help others, but when she isn't she may just have a little attitude to them.
History:She had a normal life for a most part. Her family is a bit odd though. She comes from the Andre line but since she was a female her last name is changed to Andra. Her family was very sercetive. She hated it and wanted to know why. She found out when she hit her teenaged years. She had strong cravings for raw foods and found if she didn't eat raw foods at least a couple of times a weeks she would get sick and weak. Her canines were rather long as well as sharp. Her dislike for the day grew as the sun started to burn her skin. Now that she was older she had found a way that she could walk in the light without getting cooked. Naturally she was strong but that was not her special ability. She found out because of the blood she carried, she aged very slowly and she could not get sick from normal illnesses. Her eyes had the ability to freeze a person in place for couple of minutes at a time. If need be she could send them into seizures. This was what got her into trouble in her teen years. Already she had a record with the police. It was nothing too bad so she didn't stress over her. Right now she is just traveling the world having graduated from college when she was just 17. Jack the Ripper's Knife: when stabbed in a person, it caused the victim to be completely paralyzed and cannot speak, as long as the knife is buried somewhere in the victim. (Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Little Red Riding Hood's Hood: A Red Hood that can cover the entire wearer's body, and is inpenetrable, and can work as powerful armor. Just as Little Red Riding Hood was eaten by the wolf, she was saved near unharmed from the Wolf's stomach when cut out by the Woodsman.(Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Muffin of Little Miss Tuffet: The muffin that little Miss Tuffet longed for. This odd pastry never seems to rot, and is as hard as a rock, but has the power to summon and control spiders.(Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Ark of the Covenant: The legendary ark of the Covenant, the golden box, has unknown powers, but cannot be opened by normal means. So far no one knows how to open it. (Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Fang of the Hydra: A large fang, that seems to contain a endless supply of acid/poison the poison can melt steal, and can act like a neurotoxin when used as a weapon. When applying the acid, it is used like a oil can on a surface. (Currently in Yokai's Possession)
The Compass of Gold: A odd golden compass that allows the user to find whatever it is they desire, but it merely points the way, not how far, or who is in possession of it. (Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Pen of John Hancock: This pen has the power to make whatever is drawn with it to come to life, but drains the user of their health every time it is used. (currently in Kvetina's possession)
A Sliver of wood from Noah's Arc: This artifact gives one the ability to control and talk to animals. The user can even share the body of another animal (their mind melds with the animals) so long as no harm comes to their human form. It's the shape of a feather and hangs from a piece of ribbon, like a necklace. (currently in Solece's possession)
Hansel & Gretel's Pebble: When raised to the sky it illuminates itself and creates a beam of light in the direction one had came. As Hansel and Gretel did before, this artifact with show the way home and brighten even the darkest corners of the earth. (currently in no one's possession)
Humptey Dumpty's Shell: A peice of shell that was forgotten in the attempt to put Humptey Dumpty together again. Quite strong it works as a shield to deflect attacks.(currently in no one's possession)
Puss' Boots: Gives wearer enhanced speed , stamina, and balance though lowers their strength slightly (currently Solece's possession)
King Arthur's Sword: Has the ability to change to any blade the user wills it to be. (currently in Crystal's possession)
The Twin Blades of Sinbad: These jeweled twin daggers, only work when used together. Originally belonging to the great bandit, Sinbad, these blades cut through anything. They even slide through steel as easily as butter. However, every time the blades are used to cut something more than common place twine, string, or rope, the user receives small cuts up their hands and arms. (currently in Ysa's possession)
The Star of Salem: This pentagram pendant dates back to the Salem witch trial. It started, not as a pendant but as the decorative top to the post on which the town burned the accused witches. Having absorbed the mystical properties of the accused who truly were witches, the star provides a spectacular ability to call and control fire at will. However, because it also absorbed the grieving souls of the innocent, this pendant can cause the wearer to go mad. (currently in Ysa's possestion)
Hitler's Journal: The book from which Hitler wrote all of his speeches when he was alive. It gives the user's body a sense of confidence in any peril, but this was just one of the side effects. Any speech or commands written inside the book and read to its target, the listener will either comply and obey, or believe whatever is said. ((Currently in Yokai's Possession))
Billy the Kid's Revolvers: Fires bullets that will home in on the target, but only towards what they were aimed at. If someone moves out of the way before the bullet is fired, the bullet will target whatever is still in the way. Also increase the wielder's reaction time. (currently in no one's possession)
Feather of The Roc: It looks like a regular, white feather, but can grow to the size of a long-sword. Who ever wields it has the strength of the Roc, and one swing of the feather can create hurricane-strength winds. The spirit of the Roc still resides in the feather, and torments who ever weilds the feather, slowly driving them mad. (Currently in Julian's Possession)
Little Red Ridding Hood: This is a rather odd little artifact. It is a young girl, Little Red Ridding Hood herself. It appears somehow she has eternal youth. Every since the incident with the Wolf, she had been traumatized, turning into a killing machine with a young girl's demanor. As an artifact she is like a child, she looks to her master like family and will do whatever is asked with happiness. (Currently in Yokai's Possession)
Obsidian of Ra: The Obsidian of Ra creates and uses kinetic energy to be done with as is pleased by the owner, by hand and finger movements. Such as knocking a car down a street with out even touching it. Or picking someone up and holding them in the air by applying kinetic energy all over their body to hold them in place, with such a hand movement as squeezing in someone's direct. The Obsidian of Ra also goes by the thoughts of the owner, so as by waving at someone he doesn't kill the people around him. The user of this object recieves bruises on random places on the body excluding the face every time the object is used. The severity of the bruise depends on the power used in paticular said moment. (Currently in nicolette's posession)
Scale of the Dragon-When the scale of the dragon is activated, the user grows the wings, tail, and claws of a dragon. Their bones grow hollow to allow flight, and their muscles grow stronger. A small added boost of strength is gained as well. Unfortunately, after the effects wear of, the user must pay a price. After use, the one who gains the power loses a sense for the same amount of time that they had used the artifact. There are no exceptions, they completely lose that sense until the time has passed. (In order to figure out which scent is lost, the user rolls a dice at the beginning of the activation of the artifact. The numbers represent which sense is lost) 1- Sight 2- Sound 3- Taste 4- Touch 5- Smell
Gloves of the Alchemist: A pair of black fingerless gloves that are able to manipulate the elements that they touch. The only known ability of the gloves however is that they can only manipulate metals, for the manipulation of other elements has not been attempted yet. The manipulation process works by taking mainly protons, but electrons and neutrons as well, from the oxygen touching the gloves (the process can be reversed too) and with these extra subatomic particles, they are added to anything else that may be held, changing the chemical make up of the poles. In all reality, they should be able to pull things out of mid air, but the gloves themselves exhaust the user quite quickly when equipped so it's a very bad idea to have them on for too long for death would be immenent. (Currently in Leon's possesion)
The Phoenix Feather: The Phoenix feather has the power to manipulate fire or ash in to a new flame. The fire can be manipulated around the user to their desire depending on the quantity of the flame or ash. When used extremely or to long the user's body temperature increases and give them what looks like a fever. (currently in Jake's possession)
Harry Houdini's Escape Key.: Harry's key give the user the power to create illusions or fool the human eye. Simply making them see what the user wants them to see. The health of the user as well as the person getting tricked Can affect how well the illusion holds up. When used to much or to strongly the user can experience light headedness and a throbbing headache clouding their brain and can even lead to passing out. (currently in Jake's possession)
Tengu's fan:A fan shown in the hands of a Tengu from japanese folk-lore it allows its user to sprout wings and fly or move at vary high speeds however it is hard on the users body and can be vary damageing if over-used(currently in Praxis's possession)
Inari prayer beads a necklace of holy beads used once by japanese monks to heal and cleanse the spirit and heal the body it allows slow but effective healing while preying and also restores energy (currently in Praxis's posession)
Scepter of Was: The Scepter of Was is symbolic for power, and thus has a power over people. The scepter temerarily controls peoples minds and may even alter their destiny (if you believe in such things).This scepter was originally owned by Osiris, because it was once owned by the Egyptian god of the underworld the user loses some of the precious time they have in this world per use. They continue losing life until they are dragged into the underworld to return the scepter to its proper owner and then forever serve Osiris in the underworld. (currently in Maya's possession)
Marie Antoinette's Pin: The pin is an ancient artifact, one that Marie wore with every outfit she chose. With Marie's death her desire to be treated like royalty was transferred to the pin. It allows the wearer to create a aura which forces those around them to be treated like royalty. There is a downside to this power though, the user ends up losing their IQ drastically, to the point they become like that of a idiotic spoiled child. (currently in Ysa's possession)
Gate Key: Golden key, that attaches to the user's neck by a chain. They are able to summon lesser monsters beyond the dream world gate, but with a drop of someone with Morpheus's blood, stronger monsters can be summoned. If physical contact is lost with artifact, then all monsters return to the dream world, and the shock causes the user to be stunned for about three minutes. (currently in Arisu's possession)
Marie Laveau's Voodoo Staff:A wooden staff with a wooden snake warped around it with ruby eyes. This staff was used in Marie Laveau's voodoo rituals. With such a belif that Marie had the power to infulnce people with her voodoo,the day she passed away that power was transfered into this the staff.The staff as the power to create illusions that trick the mind.Whenever a person uses this staff they lose engery,have great headaches,become influnced by the Marie's spirit.(currently in Luna Frost's possession)
Envy's Chakrams: These decorative Chakrams were laced with jealousy and hatred from Envy's constant rage attacks on the beautifully innocent, destroying anything she believed was happier than herself. Unable to love anyone but herself, she died alone. These Chakrams hold a dark aura that could possibly posess one's mind if used to much. It holds poisonous/acidic properties that can eat away at flesh if sliced into it (currently in Rivaldi's possession)

10/1/09: The rp is opened.
10/4/09: Yokai has struck once more this time the Smithsonian Museum, he managed to make away with Hitler's Journal, but not with as much ease as he had hoped. He ran into some trouble 5 artifact users. four of them were out to stop him, he never caught any of their names (but you know who you are.) Though one of them offered an alliance, one bearing King Arthur's blade, Yokai did not manage to take her up on the offer, but has kept in mind. Yokai managed to escape thanks to Julian's wind attacks, which Yokai managed to use to sail away into the darkness.
It appears as well to reports from an unknown source that the artifact users all moved to the park. That is all at this time. Thank you for your time, this is your Objects of Desire news cast.

11/2/09: BREAKING NEWS!!! This is Objects of Desire News at...now...saying that the plane has landed in London and all who wish to keep with the plot have arrived. Now then we got a interview with Little Red Riding Hood on what has happened so far. "Well....the good guys attacked Brother and me as we were trying to get on the plane, there were spiders, hisss!!! and bullets pow pow!!! and!" I am sorry it appears we were cut off for technical reasons. "Basically there was a large battle at the Airport." Ysa and Julian got a new compatriot named Katrina, who had a dragon themed artifact. Arisu sent Yokai into another deminsion with some sort of sleeping technique. Yokai convinced Arisu he was one of the good guys, and he was set free... Ysa has discovered that the theif is her brother Yokai. uhhh....Katrina has had to go through a lot of spiders....poison....bullet wounds....surgery...and too much to say. Julian has lost a hand....hmmmm.... I think that is all, well this is Objects of Desire News signing....

Yokai: right, with that disturbing interruption here is the summary. right I have finally met up with my contact, Nikki, and the two of us have made our base here in England. Ysa had gone off to do her own thing, while Julian tried to make his move on Katrina, and was DENIED!
Red: Tee hee, he got owned.
Yokai: Katrina ended up meeting up with me and i managed to find enough information to kidnap her uncle, I managed to make her feel like a fool when I revealed I was the theif.
Red: Tee Hee, they still don't know who brother is.
Yokai: Will you stop interupting!?
Red: Tee Hee, No *Smacked in the head by Yokai* Ow, fine...
Yokai: Good. Now Julian finally got a new arm from Connor. After this Nikki, Red, and I managed to kidnap Katrina's uncle. After this Nikki and I got into a car it turned into a car chase against the good guys, but it ended up with my car stalling thanks to some kind of emp blast thanks to ******** now Ysa and her comrades have the pin, and I am stuck carrying an unconscious Nikki.
