She looked at him, and shook her head.
"They can't press-gang me into something I'm already a member of."
It was true. Her caravan had been headed towards this sanctuary after a successful attack on another city besieged with zombies. Everyone except for her had died.
She knew how LID worked. They hadn't pressured her into it, she had forced them to allow her to join. LID was basically a means for her to get a free gun to shoot the bastards that had killed her family.
"Oh."

((Why don't you act out the L.I.D. people?))

His jeep pulled up to the group abruptly. He jumped out and brushed his hair out of his face revealing his eyes. "Welcome to New York and Welcome to LID." He makes a quick glance at the two from the bar and grins. "You are not in trouble. We find the fact that you all came here without help from LID operatives amazing. Your survival skills will be of some help to us. You are not being forced in but rather pursuaded. Now you can live a somewhat normal life here or you can take our offer and work for us. You'll be paid well and have amazing benefits. All this for a little danger now and again. What do you say?"

Since he had already been training to become a cop Azrael figured he would join. "I'm in. I've been preparing for this sort of work anyhow. Why the hell not?"
Rita was a ways away from the small group at the front gate, but she could hear everything being said. She began to wonder if it was a good idea. What would her father suggest? Rita took a few more steps back. She didn't know what to do, she was still a kid as some put it.

((lol, I'll do what I can))

"Where are the rest of you?" A gruff looking man demanded. He wore a green vest and appreared to be the general of the place.
Loriee looked at him and shurgged her shoulders, clearly uninterested in this conversation. If they were really recruiting, they were barking up the wrong tree. Or beating a dead horse. One of the two.

"Oh, well. Um, since you're here, we would like to offer you a place amongst the ranks of the LID. What do you say?"
The other LID officers, just as big and scary looking as the general, loomed menecingly behind, cracking their knuckles and aiming their guns in a joking manner. Clearly there was only one option, and that was not no.
((lol, Azrael posted it before you.))
((haha kay you can play the part of the general aswell))

The Sarge notices a younger girl in the back. "You there, you look alittle frail. We could always use a good paramedic. You want the job?" Someting about her screamed medicine. He tried to be as non-threatening as possible yet she still seemed alittle distant, literally.
Rita jumped when the sergeant was speaking to her. A paramedic? She thought about it for a bit. Her father had been a doctor, so it wouldn't be too hard to pick up on being a paramedic. Before long Rita had finally come to a decision and nodded, accepting the job while backing up a little more.

She glanced up at the LID men, a bored expression on her face.
"Been there, done that. Can we skip the sentimentals?"
Maybe they'd give her a new gun. Honestly, that was the only way they could possibly keep her interested in this conversat.
((Just saw the uniforms... a bit much.))
((you think so, i kinda felt the same way. Mabye just guantlets and boots, mabye a utility backpack?))

[~Sarge~]

The Sarge noticed the eagerness of the girl from the bar. Sarge is a good judge of character and she seems to be a girl of action. "Come with us and we will give you your new weapons, shotgun, machete and pistol. Of course you get to keep your old. We will also be giving you your card keys to your new rooms." The Sarge walked towards an opening in the wall that led to an underground facility: The LID Force New York Head Quarters.

"New weapons, just what you wanted," he told Loriee as they followed the Sergeant to the underground facility. "And a place to crash, that's excellent."
Rita hesitantly followed the sergeant, but as usual she lagged behind slightly, though she wasn't dawdling. She was on the alert because of the unfamiliar surroundings and new people, one of which she got acquainted with earlier. Rita felt her stomach churn. She sucked in her breath and held it. Maybe she would ask later if they had a room built for close up combat.
