Storyline.
1810. A castle stood on a hilltop overlooking a large Scottish town, Evie, on the small island of Kirkwall. The castle and its inhabitants dominated the landscape and the people of the large fishing town. The owner of this castle was a man Named Lord Dermot Morgause and he was not your average man. He was a vampire who ruled the town with his coven who used the town as there own private drinking fountain. After years of being controlled by the vampires, the townspeople decided to put an end to it all. To put an end to the murders, kidnappings and blackmailing. They stormed the castle, killing all the vampires they could find and capturing Lord Morgause. Of course, many of the townspeople were killed and some of the vampires fled as their Master was caught, but they screamed into the night that they would be back.
The townspeople dragged Lord Morgause up to one of the castles towers, tying him to the makeshift cross that they had brought with them. They proclaimed to him that the sun would soon rise, killing him slowly and painfully. But all he did was cackle with laughter.
"I will return to seek my revenge on your descendants” He began to yell for all to hear. “A woman from across the world will awaken me once more and all shall pay for what you have done to my clan and I! I will return to exact my revenge on your descendants and none shall survive just wai-" No one heard the rest of his speech as the sun rose, turning him to dust which was caught up by the wind and scattered all across the town.
2010. The town was still there, as was the castle where no one had lived since that fateful night. It was now privately owned but no one had entered the building in decades. The town of Erie was now a popular holiday destination and the economy was booming.
The story of Lord Dermot and his clan had become myth over the years, but the eldest folk amongst the town still kept watch over everyone, passing down the story throughout the generations, even when they didn’t believe. The younger age group thought nothing of it, but did as their families told them. Most of the tourists were attracted to the old castle, but the townsfolk never told them the true story, but watched all of the female visitors just in case she was the one who would awaken Lord Dermot once more. Whether they were from America or Ireland, no one was deemed 'safe' if they were female and not from the town.
This is where we are introduced to our main characters. Mirany, from Australia has just finished high school and is off to live with her cousin Claire and her parents for a year to work in their hotel that they run and own. Mirany arrives and the whole town is put on alert. She can tell something is off with all the people in the town and feels like she’s watched constantly. Whilst looking out her bedroom window one evening, she notices light emnate from one window in the castle and a dark figure move past it...
And this is where we begin.
