Eli watched her every move with intense eyes, taking in each action. The way she put the bookmark into the book and set it off to the side, removing her earbud headphones, and then truly looking at him. It seemed that every action between them was creating an invisible fireworks show that only they were aware of. He sensed, more than saw, her legs crossing under the table and when she replied to his speech it was like the angels of whatever heaven there was were singing. Her introduction sealed the deal for Eli. He had definitely imprinted on her, it was official now.

"Yea, I came here to read, but... you seemed more interesting than Jonathan Livingston Seagull," Eli said and gave her a crooked grin. Pick up lines? Come on dude, she's your imprint! Stop acting like a frakking dweeb, he scolded himself. He took a glance over at her own book. "How about you? What drew you out of school?" He asked, and rested his elbows up on the table. Okay, he thought, a bit better. Keep going.
User ImageCariela felt her stomach flip in her gut at that crooked smile of his. A bit of color flushed her cheeks, and the girl gasped in her own thoughts. Ok, something was VERY different for this boy. It was one of the hardest things in the world to make her blush even the slightest bit. She bit her tounge to keep a straight, not freaking out face. She silently took in a breath to keep herself from flipping out. Following his glance to her book and hearing his question, the girl offered him a sweet smile, dark blue eyes returning to his black ones. "Eh, no real reason. Just wanted to get away for a while, ya know? Away from the loud hallways and stuffy classrooms... And this is where I usually find myself," Cariela explained, noticing her natural thoughts just flowed out of her like a river from her mouth.

Eli nodded, understanding completely. Her sweet smile made his eyes smolder, she was too beautiful. He wasn't even trying to pay attention to her body language and facial expressions to see if she was telling the truth. His heart told him that every word was real, and that - at the moment anyway - was good enough for him. Eli had to blink a few times just to get himself to answer her. "The library is pretty quiet, and there's never anyone there to bother you," Eli said and then gave a smirk. "Except for me of course," He said and had to give a small chuckle at his own joke. He wondered if his accent was a bit too much for her to understand, but then again she'd understood him so far, hadn't she? "Do stop me if I'm bothering you," he added and, on instinct, reached his hand across the table to rest against the back of her hand for a moment before pulling it back. His skin felt insanely on fire where he'd touched her hand, but it was her who should have been burned. Eli stuffed his hands in his pockets, no hands, no temptation... for a time.
User Image"Yes. But, I don't mind being pestered by a cute boy, such as yourself." As soon as the words slipped out of her mouth, Cariela's face lit up in red and she looked down at her lap. The suprising warm touch of his large hand send a small shock through her, almost like her soul was trying to tell her something. But, she ignored it, instead her mind went to the warmth of his hand. It wasn't just a normal human touch; it was like fire. Literaly! She wanted to reach out and touch his hand again, but he shoved his hands into his pockets. The girl couldn't stop the frown from gracing her lips for a second. "Your hands are really warm, like you have a fever... Are you feeling alright?" she asked, suddenly conserned for his well being. If he was sick, she would gladly drag him home or even to the doctor, if needed.

Eli gave that crooked grin of his again when she called him cute. It made his stomach do another little flip, the fact that she clearly liked him too made him want to - no pun intended - howl with joy. And then the muscles on his stomach tightened as she frowned. Why was she frowning? he asked himself, but she answered his unspoken question when she asked if he was okay. He gave a relieved and breathy laugh, licking his dry lips. "I'm fine, I promise. My body temperature just runs a little higher than most," Eli said, grinning again as in his mind he added of the planet. "What about you? You felt a little cold. Do you need my coat?" Eli asked, reaching to pull his coat off.
User ImageThe girl felt her stomach flutter at the sight of his breath taking smile again. She did her best to keep the blood out of her cheeks, her lips turning up into a small smile. The relief that flooded his features was noticable to Cariela when he laughed. His answer to her question was a relief to her as well, but something behind his words tugged at her mind. What was it? Pushing that thought to the back of her mind, she shrugged in reply to his question. "A little, I guess. Not much more the usual." She paused for a moment, then added, "My hands are usually pretty cool feeling, though. Even more so to your warm touch." It was a sweet gesture, to her, that he would give her his coat. Those sort of things got to a girl like her.

Eli nodded when Cariela explained her coldness. He'd been so quick to assume she was sick, he didn't even think that she felt cold because he was so hot. Even still, he finished taking off his coat and lay it on the table, off to the side. If she took it, great, if not... well he wouldn't be too hurt. "So, Cariela," Eli said, trying not to sound too much like he'd been planning it. "Seeing as school's probably finished by now, would you care to maybe go somewhere with me?" Eli asked, looking at her hopefully. His eyes gave off a few added words; alone, quiet, and maybe even a hint of romantic towards the back.
User ImageSuch a gentleman, Cariela thought, glancing at the leather jacket. She pretended to think about it before picking it up and shrugging her arms into it. It was pretty big on her, swallowing her small form whole. Eh, whatever. She wouldn't mind. Letting her blue eyes fall back on him, she listened to his question, watching his eyes the entire time. The girl had a bad habit of always keeping eye contact with someone when talking to them or when they were talking to her. She always thought it was more poliet then not looking at them at all. He seems so eager to spend time with me, she noted quietly to herself, smiling shyly at him. "Sure, what did you have in mind?" she answered, leaning foreward on her elboes. Though, she did remember her Jeep outside and decided to speak up about it. "Oh, would you mind following me home so I can drop of my Jeep? I don't want to leave it here."

"There's this little spot near my house that's pretty fantastic when it's sunny outside like today," Eli said after he'd watched her shrug into his jacket. It made her look even smaller than she was, but now he felt comfortable that she wouldn't freeze. His coat was probably pretty warm considering the difference in skin temperature they had. Trying not to enjoy her smile too much, Eli nodded. "I'd be glad to," Eli said, giving her that crooked grin of his again. "So long as you don't mind riding in a Prius..." he said with a slight grimace on his face. He knew how much people made fun of his car, how they called him 'gay' for having a 'girl's car'. But he didn't care, it was eco-friendly and got him where he wanted to go. That's all he really cared about.
User ImageThe girl nodded in approvel at his idea of a place to go. Anywhere sounded good, with him at least. As long as she didn't burn, things would be good. Cariela had skin that only burned; it never turned tan. She found it rather strange, but it was nice, seeing how she didn't enjoy the look of being tan anyway. Watching him again, she smiled at the boy, glad he would comply at her wishes. He cringed a bit at his next sentence, but she didn't really understand why until it clicked on the type of car he had. Shaking her head at his question, she replied, "Na, I don't care. A cars a car, right?" Cariela offered him another smile before digging though her pocket for her keys.

Eli nodded, laughing a bit. "You're a lot more understanding than my friend's are," he said as he stood up. He pushed his chair in and patiently waited for her as he leaned against the side of the table. He wondered which vehicle outside was hers. He'd only seen a few, other than his own. Most of them were always there when he arrived and were probably those of the people who worked at the library. He lifted his hands to stuff into his coat pockets and frowned when they simply ran into each other. He tried to make it as if he'd done it on purpose, running his hands together against as he looked at the window, remembering only after that semi-embarrassing action that he'd let her borrow his coat. Not that he minded, it just felt weird standing there without his hands in his coat pockets. He was too used to the feeling that the absence of it gave him nothing to do with his hands. He worked them into his jeans pockets, glad that he at least had those.
User ImageHer fingers found the cool plasic top of her keys, and she flicked them out. Gracefully sweeping to her feet, Cariela pushed in her chair, picking up her book up. Placing it back on the shelf, she tossed a glance at Eli. He seemed to be struggling on where to put his hands, like something was missing that he usually put his hands on or in. Her navy blue eyes flickered down at the long coat around her shoulders. Oh, his coat. She thought about giving it back to him, but decided to wait until they were outside. If it was chilly out, he more then likely would tell her to keep it. Eh, if the sun was out, she would be fine, but whatever. It was his jacket. Smiling softly at him, she watched him cram his hands into his jeans. Not saying a word, the girl glided to the doors easily, her slipper like shoes making no noise on the carpet.

Watching her move was like watching a deer grazing in the meadow. A rare occasion that if you blinked, it would be gone in an instant, which was the reason why once Cariela was at the door Eli had to mentally shake himself and jog over to her side. He'd been staring and not paying attention and she'd made it to the door before he'd even taken a single step. Once by her side again he instinctively placed a gentle hand at the small of her back. The overprotective side of the imprint was getting to him the farther they went outside because he knew there were vampires in Forks, but he didn't know where they were. He considered suggesting that they just take her car, he wasn't afraid to leave his because he could be back within minutes even as far as they were headed. He didn't though, at least not yet. He was still debating.
User ImageCariela didn't notice his staring at all, mind set on getting to her car first. She had a protective nature over her baby, making it hard for her to leave it anywhere or allow it to be in a public parking lot without her there to make sure no one hurt it. The warm hand against her back didn't go unnoticed, though. Twisting her arm, she gently took his larger hand in her pale one, lightly lacing their fingers. The angel threw a soft, shy smile at the boy, hoping he didn't mind her slightly bold move. It was bold for her usual actions, at least. Hoping her cheeks didn't blush, she turned her head down a little, still padding along to her black, muddy Jeep.

Eli's insides twisted in a knot when she boldly took his hand in hers, interlacing their fingers. It was a strong move, and it showed that she liked him too. Not that he hadn't noticed that before, but it was clearer now. She tossed him a small smile and he returned it and when she turned her head down he let it spread out into a beaming grin. He felt like jumping up and down like one of those bouncy little Pomeranian dogs and yapping until he went hoarse, but that would be bad, and would probably scare her away. He didn't want to do that.

Taking a deep breath he sneezed. Sick, sweet, and strong. His eyes opened as he placed the back of his wrist to his nose. Vampires. He could smell them, the small wind that was blowing had their smell all over they place. Making a face, Eli slightly tightened his hand in Cariela's, looking around. He couldn't tell where they were, but they were there, and they were close. Placing his footsteps just a little bit in front of hers he stifled the growl that wanted to creep from the back of his throat. "Walk faster," he said as quiet as he could without being unable to be heard.
