Isabeau turned and looked at him over her shoulder. She wondered why he thought she would condemn him for training. Even she would get out there every once in a while and and practice on her archery. "Enough ten times over huh? Sounds absolutely wonderful," she said smiling. "The oranges? Perfect! Those things are to die for...," she said just thinking about eating one. She shook her head and glanced at him again. "You know I am not going to throw something at you for training. I understand the need. It's the same with me and why I decided to become a doctor of sorts," she said smiling reassuringly at him. Little did her husband know that she was training the boys little by little. They would want to be able to protect their own families one day. She turned back to her work with that thought in mind. She feared that soon the peace would be gone and war would come.

She laughed at him. "Yes they are, aren't they? I still think they get it from you...," she said teasingly. Isabeau glanced at Zero and it warmed her heart. He took so much pride in his children and how he loved them. When she had first met him he was a dark, gloomy character, but now he was always so happy and very much loved. Elizabeth took a whole new meaning to "Daddy's little girl". The boys enjoyed horsing around with him and every time Isabeau saw the love etched on Zero's face she fell in love with him even more. She finished cooking the rabbit and put it in the the other veggies. Once Zero was done she took the corn and added it as well. Now all was left to do was to let it cook.

Isabeau walked over to a chair and sat down. "Hey, hon? Do you know any news that's been happening outside Aeolus as of late?" She looked at him and nodded. "The rebellion is forming slowly, and yet faster than the last time you asked. Moriko's rebellion is small while Aalok's is growing bigger. I fear they may be too big in the head and not realize the threat that Zaynah is. I know that they have yet to do anything but I fear that when they do they will be crushed and all hope will be lost with them," she said softly while peering down at her hands. "Also I have heard rumors...," she said even more softly knowing that Zero could still hear her. "A princess is being returned to the waste lands that used to be Cordelia."

Isabeau was startled when the loud knock sounded on the door. She looked at Zero and he looked at her. "I got it...," she said softly. She stood up and walked out of the kitchen. Nicholas and Damion were already at the door. "Hey you two! Shoo!" she told them. They looked at her and then ran off to hide behind a couch. She rolled her eyes and opened the door. "Oh it's you. About time you got here. Come in..."

The icy blue eyes beneath long, jet black hair glanced about and took her surroundings in as she patiently awaited for someone to answer the door. She didn't have to wait long though, it seemed. The door slid open and on the other side of the threshold stood her prospective employer, Lady Isabeau Beleren. The woman standing at a shorter stature than her own, the 5' 9" freelance maiden had to look down at the 5' 5" elven royal. However, the blond haired woman was undaunted by the darkly cloaked woman as she invited her in with an "oh... it's just you" manner.

Not commenting, the tall and slender woman in black stepped into the house quietly before lowering her hood from her head. Fierce blue eyes glanced about the warm and family-oriented home a moment. There was a living area in one direction and the smells of a kitchen came from the other. Motion in the living area drew her gaze. Behind one of the couches were two small boys peeking out at her in childish curiosity. Both had the same haircut, hair color, eyes--- the pair were twins. At catching Elektra's gaze coming their way, however, the little princes ducked and hid from view behind the couch. So that's how things were going to be, were they?

Pulling her cloak off and folding it over her arm, it revealed her long navy dress and armored breastplate as well as her beloved "Pain" and "Panic" at her side. In the other direction, she could see a darling little girl peeking at her from around the kitchen corner where the smell of veggies and meat of some sort wafted from. She could also hear a man's voice in that direction and presumed it to be that of Zerous Neneharma, the known lover and father of Isabeau's children. Directing her gaze to the short woman, the hired hand decided to begin the conversation. "To business, ma'am. I'm sure you've my payment at hand,"
she inquired in a quiet but stern voice.

Isabeau, to Zero, was very easy to understand, a fact that may have made Zero love her more than she already was. Still, he remembered how worried Feawen was when Zero trained and it had never truly warn off. Zero would admit that he was paranoid about certain things, and this was one that was at the top of his list. That was why he kept to an extensive training program to keep himself in greatest of shape. He wouldn't be satisfied with his training until he knew his family would be safe and that wouldn't happen.

Once the food started to cook, Zero sat down as well, and listened to what Isabeau had to say. The rebellion was predictable, to say the least. They moved irrationally, focusing more on mild disturbance rather than all out rebellion. Blood would have to be spilled to achieve the freedom they wanted, but no one was willing to spill it. Yet, Moriko seemed to be more organize then Aalok, even though Aalok was bigger. However, Zero cast all that aside and stood up with a worried look on his face. "Alanna," Zero spoke quietly as Isabeau went to get the door.

Zero just stood there, knowing that it was for Isabeau and not him. Elizabeth had come back with crumbs on her mouth and a look that asked "Who is that woman?" Zero only smiled, pulling her up into his arms and onto his lap. "We can't let the boys know that you had a cookie, can we, my little angel?" Zero asked and Elizabeth nodded, before Zero wiped away the crumbs on her face with a napkin. Then he let her go, smiling and telling her that dinner would be ready soon. Once he saw that the food was properly warmed up, he made sure the stove was turned down enough just to keep the food warm, before looking out to the front door.

His immediate impression of the woman at the door was that she was some sort of of merc. Her muscle definition was clearly a sign of hard labor and her eyes had this side to them that was literally dangerous. Why did that spark up the Chaos in Zero's eyes? He looked at both Nicholas and Damion and beckoned his sons over to him, wanting his children far away from that woman as he could possibly get them. After all, this wasn't a social call, but something about business. Isabeau's demeanor told him that much. Once the boys came over, Zero lead the both outside, and gave them big hugs. "How about you boys go out and play and I'll call you when dinner is ready?" Zero asked to happy replies. Both picked up sticks and started to show the fruits of their training, which surprised Zero. Isabeau must have been teaching the some of the finer points of sword play because he saw a potential in his boys as they clashed, and felt the powers of chaos in them, even if it was only very faint.

Zero stepped back inside, as he checked the stew, then the corn, and everything else. He got some apple cider ready from their magical freezer that his grandfather had bought in Charna, and started pouring the liquid. But he kept his ears open, listening intently, while Elizabeth came back and started to help him. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and thanked her quietly for he help.

"If you were going to take a kingdom, what point would there be in completely destroying it?" Alanna questioned the current Zaynah general in charge of controling Alanna and the Cordelian lands. At least until the Emperor appointed someone else to take control. Alanna had only an hour of peace before she was rushed off to the King and Queen's chambers. She could see that the general took it upon himself to take these rooms. She withheld her disgust. There was a time and a place for everything. Alanna looked down at the map of Necrosis, or what had been Cordelia. Alanna had tried her best to protect her country, however the ban her father had placed did not allow her to do enough. Especially with only a score of men versus an empire. When Zero had ran off to get married, it was no wonder that Cordelia had fallen so quickly.

The general crossed his arms and snapped back, "Necessary to kill off any rebellions. We couldn't help it if your peasants were too foolish not to just give up." Alanna looked up and smirked at him, showing that she had caught on to his obvious annoyance. Apparently the rebellions had not died down.

She asked innocently, "Maybe I could help and catch these foolish men, and talk sense into them."

He laughed himself, "So you can run off? Sure, go ahead...You know that you will just have to come crawling back." It was her turn to scowl. This time she resisted the urge to think about the collar around her neck. "Especially if you want to die. The people of Necrosis may not accept the Empire just yet, but I'm sure they won't accept traitors." Alanna's erie eyes gave him a stare that instantly shut his mouth. When he was silent, she returned to the map.

"Start here, in this city, and send soldiers to help rebuild their homes and crops. Dip into the treasury and give it to the people. We need to get as many people as we can off the streets and with a job. If you want the people to start liking you, you're men will have to get personal. Get some labor done. Also start patrols, the crime rate will have increased with everyone at such a vulnerable state. If people see the empire as a protector and provider, then they won't resist as much." Alanna felt as if she was going to vomit after giving the general such advice. She leaned back in the chair to control herself.

The general was silent and nodded as he listened. "I expected a little bit more sarcasm and harshness from you. Captivity tame you so quickly?" He glanced up at her as he leaned over the table and began to write the orders down, motioning for a nearby captain to take the orders and issue them.

Alanna glared at him again, "Everything I do is for my people. Do not mistake me, General. If the means were right, I would slice your throat right now. However, that is not good for them. They are in no state for a rebellion, much less anything else. My kingdom needs to be rebuilt, right now who does it does not concern me. As long as it is done. It does concern you however, because if Cordelia is not returned to its former standards, it will be of no use to you."

"Necrosis." He corrected her. She waved him off and pulled out the maps and reports of the sea shipments. "Ah yes, that's the other reason I called you here." Cordelia, before the empire, had been known for its strength of sea or merchant interests and massive navy. The empire had avoided going after the navy, and instead went for the army, taking Cordelia by land. The general was clearly not a seaman and Alanna guessed that he needed her help and advice on the pirates who always harrassed all major ports. Cordelia had been incharge of protecting all ports, which was one of the reasons why the alliance of all the kingdoms had been so important. Not that it mattered now. She simply nodded and continued to study the paperwork.

Joseph clenched and unclenched his fist. Married? Joseph sighed in his mind. I guess she would... considering since I abandoned her. I have no right to come into her life again and ruin it now. She's probably happy with the prince of whatever country she was betrothed to. Joseph stared at Kyo. "I have nothing better to do Kyo. I am going to follow you around whether you want me to or not until I feel like I have repaid you."

--Flashback--

"Meet me under the oak tree in the garden when the moon is shining directly over the garden" the hooded woman said to Joseph. She put a hand on his chest and then reached up and kissed him on the cheek. She frowned when Joseph tried to kiss her on the lips. "Joseph... no, not here... someone could be watching..." she whispered sternly.

"It's just on-" Joseph tried to say but she put a finger up to his lips to silence him. She looked into his eyes until she recognized the look that said that he wouldn't speak. She took her finger off of his lips. Joseph bowed. "Your wish is my command." He stayed bowed until she turned around. He turned around and they departed ways.

And even were I to perish, no one’s bed would miss me. A heavy price to pay, but a rogue I must be ” His words brought a sadness to her since he believed himself to be no one of importance. “She watched his body waver before she her own hand brushed through his own. “ Don’t speak that way to an old friend. I will always remember you and a rogue you don’t have to be. Why not just stay here? ”Gwendolyn said to him, hoping it would persuade him in some way, but she knew it to be impossible.
Lucius seemed understand where she was coming from, and produced a smile of her own. He seemed to be aware of her dislike towards him, and that suited her just fine. The elf would have to earn her trust and gain her liking. Her eyes watched the other two elves that accompanied him as he ordered the two of them to leave, but stay within the walls of city. “ A human church? I’m sorry if I offended you. Your… ” Gwendolyn nodded to him, figuring that an elf of the forest would not know what human architecture looked like. “ Do not worry Lucius, but please put the weapon away before another human sees you with it. But Lucius, it would be wise if we moved to a different location. ” She said as she walked back to the bookshelf.
Her fingers rolled over the different spines, feeling for the right one. Having found it, Gwendolyn pulled out the book before pushing it further into the bookshelf. A faint click was heard before the latch on the hidden door was release, and the door sprang forth a bit. Pulling it back, Gwendolyn looked over her shoulder to stare at the Elves. “ Are you coming or not? She asked them before heading down the flight of stairs herself. “ If you are, close the bookcase behind you ” Her voice said, echoing in the hidden hallway.

Kyo Svensil

Kyo sighed at Joesph response, his mind clearly flashbacking to a certain time where he was with Taliya. Those times were over now, of course, and Joesph was a changed man. However, that was not enough, now that all this had happened. It seemed Joesph needed some catching up on the events of the world since his disappearance, and Kyo was certainly going to give it to him.

"Excuse me, Joesph," Kyo said as he waited till the guards looked away before throwing Joesph up on top of a roof. He needed privacy for this and there was no better privacy then a roof. Kyo and Jericho both followed in suit and landed perfectly on the roof, almost as if they had practiced it for years. "You must know the circumstances of what happened after you left, Joesph. You see, this country is no longer a free country, but the providence of the Empire of Zaynah, from the Northern Deserts. It seems that the eternal destruction that I caused the Kingdoms made them weak enough to be taken over by Zaynah. Cionoadh was the first to be attacked, and the first to surrender to Zaynah. This is why they still stand, while the country of Moriko is in ruins. For this treaty to be complete, the eldest daughter of this country had to be married off to Zaynah's only prince, and is now the home for the Zaynah empire," Kyo explained all without pause.

He turned around to Joesph and his face almost seemed emotionless as his hair blew into his face a couple of times. "Taliya Kahae was married against her will, and yet once Zaynah had control of this kingdom and almost every other, they ruthlessly ended the lives of those leaders. Right now, Joesph, the only free country left is Aeolus in the south, and I know Zaynah won't keep it free for long. Zaynah has done what I could not, and yet at the same time, they have become exactly what I hate. I've lost contacts with Alanna, and most of the others and have been reduced to wandering. But this I know true, Joesph. Taliya is only married to that man out of threats and fear, like most of the people under thier rule," Kyo explained, as he walked forward to Joesph. He put his hand forward to him, as a sign of respect.

He never thought Joesph as an underling but an ally of which to help him bring change. Now was the time for them to finish what had been started. Now was time for true peace and freedom to come about. "Joesph, we can join forces again. We can save Taliya from her fated marriage, we can save these kingdoms, make an entire new world. War may never end, but we have to keep fighting for a chance to stop it. What do you say, Joesph? Once more, shall we head into the depths of despair to bring about change to this world?" Kyo asked confidently, his leadership skills once again showing. His thoughts turned for a second to Alanna, forever faithful to the cause of protecting her people and Kyo understood now that the time for destroying was over. Now it was time to protect the people and begin again. A new world order.

The BLIGHTSPEAKER HAS COME

Eric Beleren, Lord of Illusion

Youngest Prince of Aeolus, gone from his land...

Eric smiled weakly at Gwendolyn, his face becoming visible for a moment as the shadows lifted. The smile never reached his eyes, it so rarely did these days, and instead the sadness that resided there seemed to grow a bit deeper. "You have known me for a long time. I have served the rebellion as best i can since the world shattered. You know i can never rest while these butchers are loose in the world. My brother is fighting a losing battle to keep the peace in my homeland yet even Aeolus is not free. Fear permeates the streets even more palpably than it does here. They are a peace loving people and the Royal Army was but a token gathering that drills more for parades than combat." he sighed and shook his head. "You know i cannot rest until the entire Empire is ground to dust. I will not bury my head in the sand while they overwhelm the entire world. Until my people can live without fear once more i have but one goal: victory at all costs. If i can best serve the world as a wraith, so be it. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one" Toward the end of his solemn pronouncement the shadows once more concealed Eric's face. Eric had lost a sister and both parents to evil and as a result he had hardened. He would destroy the evil that infected the land even if it meant becoming a greater evil to do it.

As the conversation between Gwendolyn and the elf quickly moved from the abstract and into (perhaps more abstract) politics Eric felt he was no longer a beneficial presence. They were moving, leaving through some secret passageway, and Eric no longer felt the elf was a threat. Not an immediate one anyway. So without a word Eric was gone. There was no flashy exit, no extras, he was simply there one moment, gone the next.

Eric woke with a sudden gulp of breath, his soul once more in his body where it belonged. Every time he did it, no matter how prepared he felt, it was still a shock every time. It was like being tossed through a sheet of ice water and emerging in an oven a split second later. And the noise and extraneous movement only added to that moment of confusion. One never realizes just how much noise the human body makes until one leaves it behind for a time. Once the shock wore off, it only took a second by now, the customary weakness hit him like a lead weight. The body was not designed to operate without a soul to keep it going. The breathing and heart rate slow to a crawl and slowly grind to a halt. One of the many dangers of soul magic: if your soul is gone too long, it wont have any place to go back to. It was perhaps where the term 'lost soul' came from and explained why there were still instances of people supposedly spotting ghosts. If the body died while a soul was absent it was forever doomed to wander the earth in search of rest.

"It went well?" came the gentle voice from above him. Well, it wasnt technically a voice since it was in his mind but the brain perceived at as sound.
Eric looked up at the large serpentine head scaled in glittering gold. "Fairly" he said weakly, just letting his body lie against hers. It was as warm to the touch as a scales-and-blood dragon would be, and it was unlikely anyone would be able to tell the difference no matter how hard they tried. Eric long ago gave up on figuring out what precisely she WAS, or rather, had become. To him she was just the miraculous little creature who had flown into his life when he combined two seemingly unrelated forms of magic. He had never been able to duplicate the feat but that only made him more fond of her. "She tried to talk me out of going but there was no anger or outrage. She's smart enough to know better than to think she can stop me. I just hope she's smart enough to keep herself alive..."
Eric sighed wistfully. Eric had never really entertained romantic thoughts involving her, though he knew she was a beautiful and intelligent young woman. There was a time when he had nearly run away with someone, one of the princesses at the debacle. But that was a long time ago and they had both changed a lot in the intervening years. Eric doubted there would ever be anything between them again, given what he had become and was willing to become, and he wasnt sure what he would do if she were even interested in him. He knew he would most likely have to look elsewhere for love but he also knew that with Gwen was not that place. Her heart had always belonged to Nero, whom Eric considered arrogant and annoying, and Nero was one of the few men whom Eric avoided where possible. Something about the other man just made his skin crawl.
"Well, that's one down" The cheerful thought from his glittering guardian effectively derailed his train of thought and he nodded, actually glad of the interruption.
"Yes...one down..." Eric answered slowly. He knew what came next, and it was the one out of three trips he wanted most to avoid. Eric was going to see Ari again.
"You know there's no sense in putting it off" Cypher sounded amused and he could have sworn that toothy draconic grin was half knowing half teasing. She seemed to think it quite entertaining how he avoided meeting with the leader of the Moriko rebels.
"Yes, i know" he grumbled, but that didnt stop him from wanting to. His strength had returned rapidly, as it always did fortunately, and Eric stood. The serpentine form of the scaled giant at his back wavered and once more the stunning woman was at his side. "Once more we go into the darkness" he muttered ironically before starting the incantation. The smirk on Cypher's face made him think she was laughing at him. Once more the world around him vanished...

The once proud capitol of Moriko was now in desolate ruin. Though he avoided the place like a plague ridden crowd ever trip reminded Eric why he was the way he was. The way he had to be. Were it not for the people wandering the streets, most aimless and with most of the life gone from their hollow eyes, one could have thought it the ruins of an ancient civilization. The only soldiers that walked through the streets bore the crest of the Empire, the only merchants wore clothing in Zaynah fashions. It was a sickening sight. One that caused the soul to burn and anger to flare. Eric and Cypher, who went by Maria in her human form, drew the cold lifeless eyes of citizens as they passed. Just the fact that they moved with purpose rather than the slow wanderings of the broken citizenry made them stand out despite their illusory disguises. It was this fact that made Eric hurry on to their destination despite his reluctance.
He could have performed a sending to meet with Ari, as he had done to talk with Gwendolyn, but this was one meeting Eric knew he had to do in person. When wandered around without a body the world around you was as unreal as the form projected, and Eric needed a reminder of why he fought with his latest mission looming ahead. And then there was the woman herself... Eric wondered if she still thought about him, about what might have been, about what could be one day...
Eric had reported to her enough times to know where to find her and of course getting past any guards was a cinch. When one could make people see whatever one wanted there werent many places one couldnt go. He felt her presence as he always did when he was in the city, and once more thought about how she had changed since they had first met. Like all sources of power, people gave off a distinct signature after enough contact with magic. Each signature was unique to the source and Eric was quite familiar with Ari's. As he strode into the office-like room there was little doubt she knew he was coming. Even still, he hesitated slightly before entering.

Isabeau waited silently while the woman took in her surroundings. She couldn't blame her since she was in an unfamiliar place. She took the time to size up the woman. The black haired merc wasn't much taller than herself but her aura told her the lady was dangerous. Just as she finished with her first impression, the woman walked in and she noticed she looked over at the couch to her sons. Elektra was the name she had been given, but whether or not it was a real name or a fake one she didn't know nor did she want to.

Isabeau watched the woman carefully as she entered her home. Elektra didn't waste time sizing up the place. How could she tell? Zero used to act the same way. When the boys were caught looking at her they ducked. Isabeau knew it because of their shyness but she feared the woman did not. "I apologize for my children. They are not used to strangers. You know you have to teach them stranger danger...I am sure since I will be using your services a lot they will eventually get used to you," she said with a underlined tone of hope.

Catching a quick glance at the blades on her person, Isabeau stopped her and shook her head. "I am sorry but I do not allow weapons in my house. Even my companion takes off his weapons before he enters. I know since you are a warrior you cannot be far from them, so please just leave them on table by the door," she said in a tone that did not allow disobedience. She turned around just in time to see her daughter disappear around the corner and then Zero shooing them outside. Smart man. She didn't want Elektra to get uncomfortable on her first visit.

"Yes, yes payment I know. Come to the kitchen," she said using her hand to indicate for her to follow. She walked into the kitchen and kissed Zero on the cheek. "You need to be here too...," she whispered to him before moving to the fresh milk. "Miss Elektra right? Please sit down...," she poured a glass of milk and set it down before a chair. Isabeau looked at the woman and smiled before stealing away to the cookies. Elizabeth poked her head inside and then carefully walked over to the woman. "My mom only lets me have one cookie, but daddy lets me have two," the child said grinning. Isabeau walked back over with a plate of cookies. "Oh really now?" she asked placing the cookies on the table by the milk.

Youngest Princess of Moriko

A young woman, though no longer a girl, could be seen in walking through the streets of her greatest pride; Moriko. The princess was easily noticeable, but she had mastered magics to hide her appearance, and she walked through the little cities as often as she pleased without being recognized. Most of her people loved her, but there were those who did not, simply because it was she that led the country to attack until they were forced to surrender. And now it was she that led her country's rebellion.

The fae now appeared to simply be a normal girl, a few years younger than her actual 20. Her normally midnight hair was a duller brown, and her eyes matched. She was not disguised as a peasant, but a lower aristocratic daughter, which would hide her even better. She perused a few shops in the market, finding a shop of handmade goods that caught her eye. She looked through the selection, not amazing quality, but the jewelry section caught her eye, and she spent several moments admiring the crafts before taking her leave.

Ari once would have bought and greatly enjoyed the crafts in that store, and while they caught her eye now, they held none of the joy in her heart they once did. She spent only a couple of hours out before returning to her home, shedding her illusion as she walked into the stables. Finding her prized stallion, the princess mounted and rode out as fast as she could, enjoying the exhilaration of the ride. Ari was not yet ready to spend the day inside, and she would put it off as long as she can, riding her horse to exhaustion before taking care of him and retiring to the inside. For now she enjoyed her ride, ignoring the two guards that undoubtedly followed her every move. She always ignored them, and now would be no different. Ari thought once again of her love lost, wondering why things had happened the way they did, leaving her alone now.

She had a feeling that something was coming today, and she had felt a strange pull back to the castle, but she would not yield until she absolutely had to. As cold and heartless and she seemed now, Ari was still a free spirit, and she would yield to no one. She thought of Eric, of their time together that seemed so long ago. She wondered if he had changed so much, and immediately shook the thought from her head. What did it matter now? When she felt the exhaustion in her stallion, the princess turned back, keeping the same steady pace that she knew he could still maintain. Her onyx hair flew behind her, as did the cape she donned that was supposed to keep her warm. She paid it no mind now, as the castle loomed up before her, and her previous feeling grew stronger.

When he entered Eric was surprised to see the room empty. He had expected her to be here both by the time of day and the fact that he knew her presence was nearby. Eric frowned. "It seems she's learned to mask her exact location" he said.
"That is good news. It would not do for someone unfriendly to find her easily" Cypher reminded him.
"True, but it does make my life a bit more difficult" He grinned at her, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Yes, because we all know the world revolves around you" she chuckled with a nudge. Eric didnt bother to ask anyone where she was. It was unlikely that anyone knew if she had become more secretive since the last time he'd seen her. It had been...a couple years he thought, since they last met in person. He had shown up once or twice since then, briefly, to carry messages to her or relay information he thought to be important, but he had never been there physically and always shrouded himself. Eric settled into the corner of the room, casting an illusion of invisibility about himself and Cypher, and pondered how life had changed while he waited for her to arrive.

Youngest Princess of Moriko

Ari put her stallion up when a stable boy came to take care of him. They all knew that she expected the finest care for all the animals in the castle. When she stepped into her own private wing of the castle, the presence of someone she knew hit her quite strongly. She was sure she knew the source, but it had been a long time, and she didn't think that she was right. Opening the door to her office, she felt a prickle on the back of her neck. Her blue-gray eyes were piercing and almost savage as she scanned the room, knowing she was not alone. She knew the signature of this magic, and she figured it was another message. "I am no longer a child, I am not fooled." She said simply, sitting down at her desk.

"If it is another message, simply relay it without the attempt at foolery, please."
Her voice was strong and cold, the voice of a leader, and matched her piercing gaze and cold appearance. The leader of the Moriko rebellion had grown up in more ways than one, and she stood not for nonsense or anything that may waste her time. She spent all of her time and energy into reviving her country, and she had come farther than most expected her too. A strong ruler was needed for such a weak country, and Ari knew she had to bring the rebellion back to free her people from the atrocities they were facing.

She had gotten a couple of messages from a sender from Eric, so this was what she expected this time. Not to mention news was welcome now, anything to help her help her country. The woman brought her uncaring gaze up, waiting for the sender to reveal himself. The room was silent, music banned in this wing of the castle, and the princess said nothing more. It was a cold silence, but if she was bothered by it, she showed so such signs.

The cold in her voice sent shivers up his spine. It was one of the major reasons he avoided coming to Moriko whenever he could. Every time he searched those eyes, listened to his voice, it reminded him painfully of one thing. The young woman he was going to run away with was dead, as surely as if a knife had been driven through her heart. The illusion dropped but he was not standing plainly as he was going to. Instead he was cloaked more heavily in purest darkness than normal. He would not let her see his eyes...
"It is good to see you too" he said flatly. His voice did not contain the barbed ice that hers did. Instead it was without change, without emotion. The voice one would expect from the dead. "I am here to deliver no message this time, Highness. The news i bring is far more...unpleasant" Cypher flew to his shoulder in her oldest form. The 18 inch little golden dragon rested atop his shoulder as her tail flicked along his back. It wasnt like her to be intimidated by anyone.
Eric paced around the wall before stopping in front of her, his hand running along the cold smooth stone. It had never done that before, always passing through when he was Sending. He watched to see if she responded to the subtle change. "I am going to Zaynah to learn greater arcane secrets. These lands no longer carry knowledge as they once did. I will do what i can, learn what i can, as i have always done. This may well be my last report." His voice kept the eerie void of humanity that it did when he first spoke and he waited silently for her response. If she wanted him to speak plainly he would, and had.

Ari did notice the difference, and her heart sped half a click. She, however, did not let the surprise show on her face, but acknowledged the difference. "Is this why you have chosen now to visit me in person? Or is there something else?" She asked, her gaze looking to where his should be. "The mission you propose is most likely a suicide mission, and yet you still are intent to go?" She asked, standing up from her desk and walking around it, brushing closely by Eric, to the window. "What secrets do you wish to gain the knowledge of?" she asked, gazing out to her lands, the ruins of what was once great, the reason her heart was how it was.

She did not turn back to him, she did not say anything further, and her voice had the cool detachment of a monarch, though she was not queen. That title would go to someone else, should her oldest brother marry. But she still had great power, especially since he had not done so, and as the leader of the rebellion, she had more than most saw. Her wings were hung down slightly in a restful position, something that had not changed, and there were small scars along the membranes from years past, along with the scars that marked her flesh, though those were hidden now. Ari waited for his response patiently, showing no signs of rushing him.

Pewter eyes threw daggers at the explosion of crimson lilies in the man's thin hands. The tall, lanky but well toned man sat within a carriage that had long ago stopped. Well, it had stopped long enough in front of the Cionaodh castle that servants had rushed forward to remove his belongings from the compartments back. The Emperor of Zaynah, however, had remained inside brooding over the problems that were sourced in the lavished bouquet within his hands.

The blond man had just returned from a trip home to his mother land, the desert kingdom of Zaynah, ending a conference with his mother and father. The words of his parents [primarily his menopausal mother] still rang through his ears. "You have a duty, Azazel, as the Emperor not only to rule your country well, but to ensure that your rule will continue on after you are gone. We have called you here, my son, to bring up the issue of furthering your legacy for the future generation. You must have your wife bear an heir within the year. Upon doing so will calm the nation's nerves and it will make it harder for the revolt whispers have mentioned to succeed." And thus was his dilemma.

Azazel hadn’t so much as held hands with his wife nevertheless considered having a child with her. And now, out of nowhere, he had to provide and heir as quickly as possible. If anything, he’d tried to distance himself as far as possible from the woman to make things easier for them both. Heck, when he went to visit family he left in his dragon form and then took a land route back home so he could be away as long as he could. But, now, he had to break heavy news to her which he couldn’t bring himself to do. There wasn’t anything more awkward to come home with than saying
" Hey, Babe, we have to have a kid within the year. I love you, and how are you?" The effect on the woman would scar her for life and probably bring her to suicidal thoughts. By God, part of Azazel had considered that option.

However, the man’s love of life was too great so suicide wasn’t an option. On the contrary, he’d spent the journey home devising some way to work around things and thus came the flowers. He would woo the woman. He would spend time with her and use his gentlemen charms to make her fall for him, and then things wouldn’t be a problem. The only problem was that he himself would have to stop womanizing, his favorite past time.

Deciding he had spent enough time pouting, the silvery blond man dragged himself from the carriage and down its little steps. His feet hitting the ground, a servant in fine black clothing rushed over and bowed. Opening his mouth to speak, he stopped in confusion at the flowers. Seeing the servant's stare at the lilies, Azazel cast a dark smile.
"What? What is it?" he tested in a threatening tone. The servant flushed and shook his head."That's what I thought... Let my wife know I'm home and," he paused with a look of loathing at the flowers"Tell her I bought these for her as a gift."

Not waiting for the servant's questions, Azazel shoved the bouquet into the man's hands. He then turned and stalked off towards the sparring grounds with the intent of letting of some steam, for their was a lot of steam to be released. With violence in his purpose, only God could help the poor souls there now.
