You gave me a life I never chose…

Gemma E. Marsdon:...

..I wanna leave but the world won’t let me go...
User Image

Gemma continued to follow her prey, now more intently than before. She watched him with eagle eyes as he started trying to pick up girls who were very much not of age. Gemma watched him carefully, and heard him get rejected by the girls. He then walked away dejectedly; this was definitely not a man with many morals, a good target, and a good dinner. Gemma paused for a moment as she realized that she was smiling. She couldn’t help it, she always enjoyed the hunt, and it never failed to cheer her up. Somehow, the pursuit cleared her head, gave her something productive to do. She had never been one to sit around and do nothing; it just wasn’t fun for Gemma.

The man continued down the line of small specialty shops, music from the small bar near them could be heard from outside. The drunk fool stumbled into the bar, Gemma hesitated, she hated bars, too crowded and confined. However, this would be a good chance for reconnaissance on her hopefully future dinner. She took a deep breath in and then opened the door, following the man into this hovel.

She noticed almost instantly Spite, he was the one making the music, an annoyed feeling welled up into her stomach. The whole point of this excursion was to get away from the coven and of course to find a prey. She took a deep sigh, ‘Control the rage Gem, control the rage’ she thought in a meditative voice. She considered walking out, because she was just too agitated. She supposed if she hadn’t considered him family, she would be less annoyed. Family was a funny thing, the more you care about your family, and the more they can get on your nerves.

She turned to regain sight of her prey; he was drinking more, something his liver probably didn’t need. She walked over and sat down next to him, his breath reeked of alcohol. “Hey, you from around here?” she asked the man, a small but fake smile on her face.

Naw, I’m from Australia” he said, his accent as thick as he was rancid. Gemma asked a few more simple questions in a friendly manner. She discovered that he wasn’t married and had no kids, or at least that’s what he told her anyways, and any man willing to lie about that was just as bad as any criminal. Gem kept her ears open to the music, but she tried not to pay any attention to spite, she needed to focus on her prey. The drunk’s name was ‘Ben’ and he even was so bold as to tell her where he was staying on his holiday. She smiled internally to herself, this was the perfect candidate.

After she finished talking to the man, she had decided she would wait until tomorrow night to attack this man. She liked to wait and watch for the perfect moment, when no one was around, she would attack, leaving no witnesses of her.

Standing up, Gemma looked over to Spite once more, Gemma had to give him some credit, he wasn't without talent. She scrunched her nose and then begrudgingly gave him a smile and a nod of her head, she wasn’t sure if he had noticed, but at least she knew she had made a tiny effort to be friendly. Gem walked out of the bar after only a short while, she had become very talented when it came to getting information out of people, years of skill and building her charisma. ‘ That place is gross, I’m going to reek booze and desperation for days’ she thought, plugging her nose.

█▌Emmie could have cut the tension in the room with a centuries-old butter knife. The frightening stare that Lilith was sending Spire's way made Emmie's smile disappear in an instant, sending a chill down her spine. Though Emmie tried to be genuinely nice to everyone most of the time, there seemed to be a barrier keeping her and Lilith from getting along too well. It wasn't that they didn't like each other...Their personalities just didn't mesh very well. It was the same with Spire. He tended to keep to himself, preferring his own company rather than anyone else's. Plus, he was a vegan. Emmie wasn't sure how he'd come to be that way, but she was repulsed by the thought of drinking an animal's unclean blood.

█▌She opened her mouth to speak once more, but was cut off by the words spilling forth from Lilith's lips. They were harsh, uncaring, and made Emmie flinch, shying toward Dexter in a childish manner. Her brows curled in worry as she listened to what Lilith was saying and to Spire's brief reply before both left the room, leaving silence in their wake.

█▌Slowly, Emmie lifted her silvery eyes to Dexter, her expression letting him know just how speechless she was. Emmie didn't like conflict unless it was justified and it seemed silly for Spire and Lilith to be arguing over veganism. Spire's eating habits in no way affected Lilith, so what was the problem? Emmie released the breath she'd been holding during Lilith's speech in a cold burst, turning to fully face Dexter. She just reached five-feet and although she was petite and childish in her personality, the rest of her was rather well-developed. If it wasn't for her lack-of-height, Emmie would never be mistaken for a juvenile.

█▌So, when Dexter called her "half-pint", a term of endearment in his eyes, Emmie frowned and crossed her arms tightly over her chest. "You know I hate when you call me that, Gigantor," she retorted, fighting back a smile. As he lamely continued their conversation, mentioning the weather, her smile broke free and her arms dropped to her sides. It took a lot to get Emmie angry, and something like a nick-name was nothing to frown about.

█▌She turned now to face the open door, her eyes focusing on the swirling grey clouds, the corners of her mouth turning downward at the scene. "I miss the sun," she said, almost in a deam-like state. She couldn't even remember the pleasant feeling the sun's rays once brought her, since now it burned her fragile, vampire flesh. She pulled her focus from the weather and looked over to Dexter, her gentle smile returning. "I had a rather uneventful day, until now of course. Where have you been?"

Our lives are just a series of rooms and...

Dexter O. Cromwell:...

who we get stuck in those rooms with is what are lives amount to.

Dexter sighed heavily, Dexter wasn’t even sure how to respond to such a question. His day hadn’t been hard at all. He had taken a nap, which wasn’t hard. He had gone out since there was no sun due to the rain, and that wasn’t hard, Dexter even had went to a gallery on the other side of the city to check on a piece of art he was considering for the gallery, and that wasn’t hard. None of his day was difficult, it was unbearable. For someone of his age, his life had fallen into a routine of monotony, even fights between Lili and Spite were habitual now.

“Just all over the place...” he said smiling down at Emmie, he didn’t feel like burdening this child. Dex didn’t know exactly how old she was, she had been bitten when she was twenty three, but who knew how many years she had stayed that age. He was 289, but never had asked Emmie her age, he felt it to be a rude question to ask a lady. He sighed, it was getting late out. He had fed last night, so there was no point in going for a hunt. Dex had heard both Gem and Spite leave. If he had to wager a guess for Spite, he had probably gone to do something with music, and Gem, he had no idea, she was weird that way, she just seemed to go where the road took her.

Pulling his mind from this speculation, he turned his attention onto the art. This museum was his business, and really, the only thing that he enjoyed as of late. Walking over to the newest death mask they had acquired, Dex paused and turned back to Emmie. “Today I went to the import shop, the man there had found a new death mask, it’s currently in Paris, but they’re going to ship it here….It’s supposedly belonging to Napoleon, but that’s mere speculation” he said. He never was good at making conversation, and Emmie was probably bored, she was too young to be interested in his work.

It was clear this infant was not aware of exactly what Lilith was capable of, and his taunting her is what brought light to that fact, Lilith didn't bluff and her promise to end his life was now just that, rather than a threat. His cowardice, however, made her cringe, to call someone out and take off like a scared squirrel on the highway with a Mack truck closing the distance was simply unforgivable; it was an insult to vampire kind. This kid was not a vampire, his last five years must have been set in a thirteen year old's mind as well as body, and this was his rebellion stage. "It's a shame he's going to have to die so young." she mused aloud to herself airily, as she watched the clouds in the sky try to keep the moon hidden. Her gray-blue eyes were leaning towards blue at the moment, meaning she was actively thinking, and she walked towards her bedroom door, leaving the room.

Lilith didn't stew in her anger, like most people would, instead she just inhaled deeply, although she didn't have the need to, and made her way into the library to find a book to occupy herself with. She pulled a soft cover book, the coloration of which was red with gold lettering that said, in very intricate cursive 'The Greay Gatsby'. It was one of Lilith's favorites, not that she would admit she liked anything to do with humans, but Gatsby's devotion to Daisy reminded her of the man she was to marry, the man she still considered herself betrothed to. She believed when people were to marry, it was for life, and if one of you left the world, even at a young age, it was unfair to the other if you found a new love. But, it didn't help thinking about it, it would only make those embarrassing displays of emotion spark, and she shook the thoughts out of her head and made her way to the sofa where she sat, cracking open the book, letting her eyes dance nimbly over every word.

It didn't take long for her to finish the book, after two and a half centuries of reading it was quite easy to speed through books, especially since she had already read this one various time. The 20's wasn't her favorite decade for books, the 30's were just as dull, the 50's were better with The Catcher in the Rye, the Old Man and the Sea, Fahrenheit 451, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Inherit the Wind, the Crucible, and A Separate Peace. The 1800's had some good ones too, for Lilith was always quite partial to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, however they were few and far apart.

And if the sun comes up will it tear the skin right off our bones
And then as razor sharp white teeth rip out our necks I saw you there
Someone get me to the doctor, someone get me to a church
Where they can pump this venom gaping hole
And you must keep your soul like a secret in your throat
And if they come and get me
What if you put the spike in my heart?

You gave me a life I never chose…

Gemma E. Marsdon:...

..I wanna leave but the world won’t let me go...
User Image

Gemma’s phone gave a small beep, telling her she had a text. She gave a small gargle of disdain from the back of her throat, she hated texting. She had never been one of those people who had the urge to text or even twitter, it was obnoxious and she rarely responded to any text. However, she had time to kill, so she stopped walking even though she was nearing the parking lot. Opening her text message, her eyes scrolled the words. Sighing deeply, she swayed her head back and forth. Gemma wasn’t sure if she wanted to reply or not, she didn’t have anything to say, and she sure as hell didn’t want to go back into the bar filled with people, it just wasn’t her thing. Though, Spite had made the effort to text, and she felt now obligated to either go back to the bar, or send a text back. Gemma chose the latter and started to text, her cold fingers moving quickly.

‘Eh, bars aren’t my scene. Have fun rockin’ out” Gemma debated adding a smiley face, but she was too lazy and so she hit the send button. She looked at the time on her clock; it was now 1am, a few hours from sunrise. “I wonder what Lili is doing, I hope she isn’t still upset with Spite’ Gemma hated when Lili was in a bad mood, it wasn’t because she was scared of Lili, Gemma just wanted her to be happy. Some would argue that Lili was never happy, because she was always so cold to people, but Gemma knew otherwise. Gem knew that Lili could be very kind and had a softer side, but she just didn’t show it most of the time, but when she did, well, it was something to see. Gemma had to admit, that even she has had her share of fights with Lili in the past, but even despite that, they had been able to remain close, Lili was a loyal friend when you got to know her, a very scary but loyal friend.

Gemma made her way back to her car and got inside. She looked around and found a pen and old gum wrapper that could be used as a scrap of paper. She recalled where the Ben, he next victim would be staying, and wrote down his hotel, so she wouldn’t forget tomorrow night and would be able to find him again. She folded the wrapper when she was done and stuck it in her cup holder of her car. Before starting her car and heading off, she rummaged through the cds strewing the floor of her car as she looked for something to listen to.

(Obviously I changed the time to 1am Monday, sorry the updates have been slow)

It was late...or early depending on how one looked at it. Loki wasn't quite sure where he was anymore. He'd been running all night since the encounter with the other wolf, and was exhausted, but in a good way. Standing awkwardly up on his back legs, he looked around, sniffing the air for anything familiar. Nothing. The rain had ceased, and the moon was showing it's pretty face once again through the broken clouds. As Loki listened, the sounds of city life met his ears. Instantly, he was alert. This was bad. He couldn't be near here. There were humans there, and what if he lost control?

Loki backed away from the direction of the noise, tail between his legs. He was lost, naked if he changed back, and now that he thought about it, he was hungry too. Not cool. Still, perhaps if he changed back and walked into town, he could merely came he was drunk or something and someone had nicked his clothes during the night while he was passed out or something. It was worth a shot. He wouldn't change until the last minute though.

He edged closer to the town, walking on all fours again. He could feel rough pavement beneath his paws. That hurt. It wasn't like the soft ground, and his claws kept scraping against it in the most annoying way. He sniffed the air again, and caught the scent of...something. It was a strange smell he'd never noticed or experienced before. Intrigued, he crept forward, half crawling on the ground. Upon closer inspection, he realized he was in a parking lot. He was thankful now for his black fur, and small frame. He would be difficult to spot, and perhaps even mistaken for a real wolf or dog so long as no one looked too closely at his proportions.

The smell was coming from a recently started car. A woman sat inside, rummaging through something. She was pretty. That was the first thing Loki thought. She didn't smell like food. That was his second thought. No, she had a nice smell, a 'do not eat' smell. It wasn't like deer. Deer was good. Human, not so much. Not that he'd ever had the chance to try one or would if he could control himself.

Tilting his head, he examined her closer. Messy blond hair, petite, high cheekbones. Very pretty. He considered reverting back to normal, just to talk to her. Of course, he thought with a sad sigh, then he'd be naked. That wouldn't be good. So, he contented himself with just watching her, his blue eyes reflecting brightly in the moonlight.

She halted in her car, she could only hear the small humming coming from a vehicle, she had the distinct feeling that someone, or something was nearby, and she did not like it. Being one of the undead, you were given enhanced hearing and smell, and also, and maybe it was just Gemma, but that sixth sense. It was like those gut feelings you get as a human, the ones that makes you think someone is behind you, and you have to look over your shoulder to double check, but it was ten times stronger. She knew Spite was probably in the bar, inhaling second hand smoke, not that it mattered, he was already dead….

But then who? Or what? Her werewolf paranoia kicked into high gear, more so since there were people near by. Sure, she was being hypocritical since she herself killed humans, so she could not judge a werewolf for doing the same, but with the wolves, it was less refined, more animalistic. She had always feared that the wolves would be seen attacking humans and blow the cover of the vampires along with them.

I have two options, one, I could get the hell out of here and go back home, or I could go investigate, if I need him, Spite is near, though really, that isn’t as comforting as it would be having Lili here….’ Gemma really liked her first option, just leaving, but she thought about the families that were here, the children. Though Lili had no scruples when it came to children, Gemma preferred to spare them. She had remembered what it was like after she had awaken as a vampire to her then ravaged town. She remembered the tiny coffins that were brought in for the kids who lived near them.

Gemma turned off her car, but before she got out, she took the gun loaded with silver bullets she had in her dashboard. She didn’t like the idea of having to use it, but in these times she would rather be safe than sorry.

She got out of the car once again, she held the gun in her right hand, and checked to make sure her phone was in her pocket, just in case she needed to call one of the coven members. Walking down the parking lot, she instinctively headed towards the woods, if anything would be watching her; she would assume it would be from the cover of the trees, it was what she would do. She made her way closer to the greenery, the parked cars becoming sparse as she walked farther away from the shops.

((Edit))

Gemma hadn't reached the wooded area before she started to pick up a smell, it was sort of human, but not really, she became uneasy. Her eyes which were so well adjusted to seeing into the dark picked up something standing farther away on the pavement. She stopped, and called out, feeling somewhat like a paranoid idiot and said “If there is someone there, I mean no harm, at least not at the moment…” she trailed off, she could see the outline of a rather large creature, small for a werewolf, but bigger than most other animals, it was black so it blended well into the night. Standing far enough away on the pavement it was not too clear yet what was there, she could see something reflecting moonlight, eyes. In that instant, she knew it was a wolf, and she was shocked at how close it was to the shopping area.

█▌Emmie noted the change in Dexter's mood, going from relatively cheerful to sort of dismal. It concerned her a bit, but not enough to say anything about it. He was probably just down because of another argument between coven members. Truth be told, Emmie was feeling a little down about it, too. Sure, things had been heated between Lilith and Spire for a while now, but not to this degree. It sounded like Spire wouldn't be around much longer.

█▌Dexter's smile made her feel much better, lightening her mood as she leaned back against the wooden door frame of the castle. The sky was continually darkening, night falling on the green isle, which got Emmie excited. Though she'd once enjoyed the sun, she now found solace in the moonlight. Dexter was talking now about how he'd gone out shopping today for new pieces of art. Lilith shopped for clothes, Dexter shopped for sculptures. Emmie had never really been a fan of either shopping or artwork. Instead she preferred the outdoors, exploring untouched corners of the forest or rolling around in the grass. Still, she preferred talking art over fashion. Dexter talked fondly of the death mask he'd been inquiring about, drawing Emmie's interest in the piece. She had to admit, she did like a little bit of history now and then. "Napoleon, eh?" she mused, letting her eyes wander to the ceiling and back down to Dex's face.

█▌Her conversation with Dexter earlier in the evening hadn't amounted to much, and eventually the two had gone their separate ways. Emmie had found some things to do around the castle, but now, as the clock struck one and hints of moonlight peeked through the windows, she was getting a bit of cabin fever. She knew Gemma and Spire had left hours ago, and didn't much mind what Lilith was doing with her free time, but Emmie wanted to get out of the house and was hoping Dexter was still around to accompany her. She wandered from her own quarters to where she heard Dexter, coming up silently behind him. "Boo," she hissed with a grin, dancing around him so that she was now in front of him. "'ave any plans for the evening hours?"

SUPERMAN, I HOPE THIS IS ALRIGHT. I HAD TO DO SOME SORT OF A TIME SKIP SINCE IT JUMPED TO 1 IN THE MORNING.
Dexter O. Cromwell:...

who we get stuck in those rooms with is what are lives amount to.
User Image

Dexter didn’t jump or even flinch at Emmie’s sudden reappearance, nothing surprised him. He thought for a moment, he hadn’t had any plans for the night, it was a little past one in the morning now so there wasn’t much to do that he enjoyed. “No, I was just going to hang around here, enjoy the quite” he said, but then added “If you wanted to do something, I suppose we could go listen to Spire, he’s probably at that bar, the one he plays his music at.” Truth be told, Dexter wasn’t sure if Spite would want t him there, he didn’t have the feeling they were close.

Dex wondered if Lilith was up to anything and if she wanted to hang out. He knew she wasn’t fond of Emmie, but he didn’t think she hated her either, more indifferent than anything else. He was always wary of approaching Lilith, even though he was older than her, she was kind of scary and he felt as though he had to walk on egg shells around her. ’A ticking time bomb…a pretty time bomb, but a weapon of mass destruction none the less.’

Dexter wasn’t really good at talking with Emmie, though she was kind and friendly, he never was really sure what to make of her. He supposed if he got to know her better, it would become easier. Dex was much more used to the company of Gem, she was so quiet, very much like a ghost, she just seemed to float from one place to the next, silently keeping company to whoever was around. When Gem did talk, it was always for a reason. At first he had found her odd and even annoying, but he had spent the past 90 some years with her and so he grew accustomed to it. Lilith was also quite, or coldly blunt, and Spire was either reserved and keeping to himself, or causing trouble by sharing his point of view to people who for the most part, disagreed with him.

Emmie wasn’t like them, she childlike, and Dexter felt pressure to find ways to entertain her young mind. He used to go hiking or to parks, something he thought she might like, because she seemed adventurous, but with the wolves around he had cut back on his outings to places where he might come across them. He didn’t like the wolves.

About a hundred and fifty years ago a few rogue wolves had attacked a village he had been staying in, and they made a huge hash of everything, they had even killed another vampire who was there. Though he had never liked the wolves before that incident either, it didn’t help their case. And as much as he would like to pick a fight with them, he didn’t want to risk his coven.

“If there is something you would like to do, I’ve got free time” he said, hoping she would pick something to do so he wouldn’t have to come up with anything. Dexter ran his hands through his hair, messing it up a bit, he liked it that way.

Loki heard the distinct click of a gun, but thought little of it. It was probably just a shot gun. Loki wouldn't get too hurt from one of them if what the others had told him was true. Still curious, he edged a little closer, but freezed as soon as the car door burst open and the woman stepped out.

In the open, she was even more beautiful. Her voice carried to where Loki crouched, musical and yet hinting at something deadly. Something stirred in him. What was it? It was a strange emotion he couldn't quite place. He'd dated a few girls in the past, never long enough to steal more than a kiss, so this was strange. He'd never felt this way about anyone while in this form, and certainly not a human.

She didn't look like she was about to attack, so he stood, inching a little closer to her. Tail between his legs, he walked on all fours, head down slightly and ears back, the sign of fear mingled with curiosity. How close would she let him get? Would she let him come close enough to pet? Could he hold back the animal inside? His eyes flicked up to the moon above him, and he prayed to whatever god blessed werewolves to allow this chance, to allow him to remain human in mind.

He was almost upon her now, inching closer and closer, pausing every so often in fear. Her scent was so different, so interesting. He liked it. It wasn't like the wolves or most humans. And the way she carried herself, a certain pride in her step, in the way she held her head.

He stopped, two feet from her, his blue eyes gazing into her own. Who was she? He was tempted to change back, just so he could talk to her, but something held him back. No, he had to be patient.

Gemma E. Marsdon:...

..I wanna leave but the world won’t let me go...

It was as she feared; a werewolf. She hesitated, placing one foot behind the other, just in case she needed to run. Gemma felt slightly protected with the silver bullets, she could use them if need be. Gemma had only encountered werewolves a few times before, they had always been in a pack and were animalistic and violent, but this wolf was alone and was making no quick movements, she waited with bated breath, for him to pounce, to attack.

It seems as though she waited forever, eventually she took one step back, but gave herself a more laid back stance, if this wolf wasn’t going to be hostile towards her, she didn’t want to start anything. Gemma wasn’t going to attack unless provoked; she didn’t want to give the wolves more reasons to want to attack her coven.

The only things Gemma knew about the wolves were what she had learned from sporadic encounters with them and what the others had told her. She knew that they could change their demeanor rather quickly, that she had observed for herself. She also knew they couldn’t talk in their wolf form, so she didn’t expect an answer when she spoke next.

“I am not going to harm you unless provoked” she said in a warning voice, she wanted to make her intentions clear. “But, I cannot let you near the city, there are families there, and I don’t want attention drawn to me or my coven…please respect that” Gemma’s voice was its usual small sound, but she tried to inject some confidence into it, even though she had none.

She was surprised that the werewolf wasn't attacking, especially since she was a vampire and all, not their favorite people....

Loki hesitated as he saw the woman tense to run. Part of his instinct told him that was the time to strike- wait, he wasn't supposed to attack. She wasn't prey. He forced the urge down. She took another step back, but she seemed to ease slightly, which in turn helped Loki calm himself. She spoke to him again, her tone direct and a little harsh, yet Loki understood what she said. She wasn't going to attack him unless he attacked her. That made him curious. Why would she talk to a wolf, unless she knew he wasn't a wolf. Her next statement cleared things up...a little. She spoke of the 'coven'. Did that make her a vampire? That explained why her scent was so intriguing. He'd never met a vampire before.

Loki sat down tilting his head at her. He understood what she was saying and was surprised that she was worried about the nearby city. He always heard vampires were bloodthirsty monsters. Was she actually worried about humans, her food source? He wanted to tell her he wasn't interested in eating humans, but it wasn't like he could talk to her. Should he change back? But then he'd be naked...that would be awkward.

He whined a little, unsure how to convey his intentions to her. Finally, he made up his made. The fur began to recede and his snout began to contract, becoming more human. His limbs thickened and lengthened, fleshing out as he became human again. Loki shivered as the cool night assailed his skin, and tried his best to hide the fact he was naked. Blushing furiously, he said,

"I ah...didn't know how to talk properly to you...I'll change back in a moment; I know this is awkward. I just wanted to say I wasn't intending any harm. I was curious. I caught the scent of something different, and followed it. I ah-"

Loki rubbed the back of his head nervously. Wow, this certainly was not how he intended to talk to a girl he liked. He was thankful it was dark.

"Well, I never met a vampire before. I'm assuming you are one?" he stopped, "Oh, ah- I mean, I'm called Loki...You could say I'm new to all of this, so don't worry about anything. I'm just a little lost."

You gave me a life I never chose…

Gemma E. Marsdon:...

..I wanna leave but the world won’t let me go...

“I’m G-Gemma” she said, stammering due to the awkwardness of the situation. Though it was dark, vampires obviously had better vision in the night, so she kept her eyes focused on a far off tree behind him. Gem wasn’t sure how to react to this predicament, it was not a situation she was accustomed to. “Yes, I’m a vampire” she said shortly, though she wasn’t a talkative person, she wanted to speak to this boy, but for once she was tongue tied.

Gemma took a moment before she spoke next “I don’t mean to offend…..” she trailed off, normally when someone said something along the lines of ‘no offense’ it always was offensive. Gemma tried to speak carefully “Normally, the wolves I’ve encountered in the past have little control over their actions, so I was just concerned, like I said, I don’t want a scene here, we like to keep our ambiguity amongst the locals” she said.

She hated not looking someone in the eye when she spoke to them, especially someone who she was wary of. Gemma felt like this boy was honest when he said he intended no harm and was only a little lost, but she wanted to keep her guard up, just in case.

Sighing deeply she tossed him her black scarf which was rather large, so he could use it to cover up a bit. “You said you’re lost? Do you need directions or something?” Gemma asked.
She could hear a little voice in her head, it sounded like Lilith, ’DO NOT FRATERNIZE WITH THE ENEMY’ Lilith’s voice sounded in her mind, Gem knew if Lili was here, this would not be a good situation.

Loki nodded at her name. Gemma. It was a nice name. He could understand why she didn't meet her eyes. It was just as awkward for him. She seemed nervous, and he could understand that. A random naked werewolf in the middle of a parking lot wasn't exactly normal. When she began with the words 'I don't mean to offend', Loki sighed mentally. Here we go, he thought, she's gonna call me a dog or something like the others said the vamps would... However, what she said surprised him, and he instantly understood why she was both confused, and a little hesitant to ask.

"Yeah, I've noticed that I have more control. Maybe it has to do with the fact I was born like this and raised by humans. I only just joined my pack...so this is all new to me. Who knows. I don't care either way so long as I still can control myself."

Loki gratefully accepted the scarf, wrapping it around himself to cover his mid. The others of his kind were mental if all vampires were as kind as her. She wasn't trying to kill him without a second thought like they'd all said. She was...well, human. Still, part of him screamed not to talk to her. Not a very big part though. He was battling with himself. Part of him wanted to learn more about her, understand her. Another part wanted to transform and run, never look back. He ignored the latter.

"Thanks, I ah...I'll return it when I can...or maybe you don't want it back? I can find a way to mail some money to you for it. And yes, directions would be helpful. I'm not from around here. I moved here from Holland about a month ago."

Even though Loki said he was from Holland, his accent was much more British, with a hint of Scottish. A strange mix, but it suited him. It made sense though seeing as he'd only lived in Holland a year, while the rest of his life had been spent in various parts of Scotland and Britain.

"If you could just point me north...or is it south? Blast, I'm so bad at directions! Yeah, I think it's north."
