Fighting sucks...

Iris shot a volley of water magic to counter the oncoming fireballs. From what she could see, everything was going as fine as it really could, considering the fact that it was the three of them against an essential army of Fire Kingdom soldiers. But something had been bugging her, and she assumed everyone else had noticed it to. Why aren't there any bodies? I've already killed a good share of them, but they don't seem to die..... Unless..... The only explanation Iris could think of was Death Magic. But the texts on it havn't been seen for decades..... People of my kingdom have only heard of it.... To think they could've found the texts and figured out how to work it is nigh impossible! But it was the only explanation. Iris saw Kazuki get hit, jump in the air, and have Rikky land alongside him. "Guys! We aren't going to last long if things keep up like this!" Iris shouted as she ran over to Rikky and Kazuki, still shooting balls of water at the oncoming fireballs. Iris was running out of steam to. A fact that was starting to show in her magic. "We need to figure out a way to get us out, or others in. I can break a sound barrier if we need to, but that would mean not countering the fire magic. Unless one of you knows water magic?"

...Unless I'm winning.

The Brilliant Storm.

_Well, of course it&#xu2;019s my fault&#xu2;026 I&#xu2;019m just telling them it&#xu2;019s yours.

_"Uh... not really. I can dredge water from the ground, but that's it... you counter the fire, Rikky and I will break the barrier." I closed my eyes to concentrate energy, then gazed intently at the now-obvious shimmering wall of air.

"Here goes nothing..."

I plunged the sword into the barrier. It held fast, luckily. Saying a quick chant, I started vibrating the air particles. Slowly, the sword slid through the thick barrier, until the point emerged from the other side.

"KyaaaaAAAAAHHH!" I let got of the handle, then slammed my fist into the back end, running a series of cracks through the wall.

"Hurry, Rikash! Distortion magic! NOW!" If she didn't cast the light-distortion spell now, the wall would heal and we'd have no hope of ever getting out.

Being a shadow...


Rikash rolled her eyes, but said nothing, and cast light distorting magic with a flick of her hand, more throwing the spell like a rock than actually casting it. It had a good effect though.
She hummed as she parried a blow aimed at Tatsu, and decapitated the weilder, driving him back to bleed on his companion. Now though, as she turned to the next one, she kept her eyes on the dead guy. A risky endeavour to be sure, but it payed off.
"Okay guys... Get ready to run like hell, and i'll see you back on the battlefield..."
She cast magic again, strengthening the spell, and literally busting the shield apart. It was quite pretty, actually. Besides, Light distorting was no fun. Her way, meant that the flickering shadows distracted the soldiers sufficiently to allow her to cut her way through them, back to the guy she'd killed a minute ago.
She saw it now. Shadows that were, quite literally, pouring from his mouth... Rikash followed them with a fist, and pulled out a handful of black shadows that had the consistency and texture of snot.
"Ewwww...." She muttered distractedly, calculating the odds that she'd miscalculated. 50-50. "Awesome...." She glanced over to Iris and Tatsu, and grinned. It was run, or stay. And where the Hell was the fun in running? She sure as hell hoped that they run though, 'cus if all else failed, this was about o get as messy as hell. Probably worse.

...Isn't much different to being like one dead.
