_Well, of course it's my fault. I'm just telling them it's yours.

_"It looks like it." I jumped out of the corner and spun a couple of spiked throwing wheels (chakram) at a guard, going through him and impaling a second before burrowing into the marble wall. The guard howled and clutched their torn-open shoulders before fainting through pure pain.

I rejoined Rikku and called for Isis, a bit hoarsely, as I blocked another fiery projectile. "Damn these Fire bastards to whatever hell they believe in... ISIS! Get over here!" I sheathed the daggers and drew two swords, tossing one to Rikku. "Take this. Daggers'll get you tired faster."

An incoming whistle caught my attention. I spun and cut through the large bolt of fire in a fluid motion, making it explode and throwing me back a couple of inches. "Damn... new magic all the time." I regained my stance as the Fire troops cornered us...

Fighting sucks...

Iris stabed another soldier with her spear, hitting another in his temple when withdrawing it. Upon hear Kazuki call her, she rushed over, taking out more enemies on her way. On her way, Iris nearly got hit with a fireball. "Dammit.... Stupid fire magic..." Iris shot back some of her own magic in the general direction of the oncoming fire. "Kazuki, this is getting ridiculous! How many of these guys can slip into your castle completely unnoticed?!"

_Well, of course it’s my fault… I’m just telling them it’s yours.

_"Uh... I..." Oh no that whistling again.

A needle embedded itself in my arm, searing the flesh. I cursed and pulled it out, throwing it into one of Isis's pursuers, who subsequently exploded. The ranks scattered.

Good one.

I grinned through the pain and pulled my two companions into a hidden room, barricading the entrance with bookshelves of stone and wood alike. Slamming my sword into the makeshift wall like a toothpick through a sandwich, I turned to face the other two.

"Right. I think I know how they managed to get through Wind's security, but that isn't our problem." I chuckled. "There's an army out there, guys. We have to get out." I head cracking, and movement caught my eye as the opposing force rammed into the wall. But it held. Good.

I turned solemn and businesslike again. "So here's the plan. Isis..." I nodded at her. "I need you to extinguish those fireballs before they get anywhere near us. Idunno how you're going to do it... but you're our counter-battery for now." I grinned. "That'll give me the cover to attack the main force head-on." One of the daggers twirled dangerously in my hand. "I'll be fine, so don't worry about me." I put my arm around Rikku's shoulders. "That'll give you the opportunity to strike from the back. Silently. Invisibly, if possible." I softened a little, smiling genuinely. "I'm not losing you anytime soon, all right?"

Half of me wanted to kiss her right there, but I decided against it and patted her on the back. Standing up, I stretched and pulled the other dagger from its sheath.

"You should have some help from the Wind barracks, too... unless..."

I blinked. Unless someone had put up a sound barrier around the Gnyaanam Nivaas...

Most of the ministers knew how to do that. And a minister had been the instigator of this whole mess.

I scratched my head. Why do I keep those idiots around, anyways...

Oh. Comic relief. Right.
Justification granted.

The cracking noises got louder, and I could now hear the voices of the soldiers on the other side. "C'mon... everyone ready?" I adjusted my cloak and grinned.

Rikash was having a great time, until Tatsu pulled her into the next room. Seriously though, it's got to be one of the best ways to face your own morality, and that of the kingdom, right? You're staring death in the face, and following that with a swift left hook.
She was admittedly running out of daggers, but as usual, Tatsu supplied her with an effective meduim. The sword worked fine, until the fireballs started. "Okay Tatsu..." she said. "Seriously, but that's a few more than just a few..." He was pulling a needle out of his arm. Great. Then, she was pulled through to the next room.
"You really have to stop doing that..." She muttered.
"Sure, I'll come from behind..." She shrugged, and passed him back his sword.
"Don't count on the invisible part though, that's no fun." She drew out her favorite dagger, then ran a finger along the blade and grinned.
"But you mean, Unless... the lack of sound from the outside world means they can't hear us, right?" She laughed, a short bark of a sound.
She paced on catlike feet closer to the door, but to the side, and held one hand in front of her face, and the other hand, holding the dagger, in front and to the side of her.
"Bring it." She said under her breath, her gaze fixed now, on the door. "'Cus you've really made me mad..."

Mercy woke up to the cries of what sounded like one of her pages. She shw the flikering of torchlight on the trees and silently shifted back into a white tiger. Kepping alert, she swam across the water, once again making little or no sound and splash. Dragging herself up onto the bank, she shook, drying off, and shifted into a human. Approaching the page, she stayed silent and crept up on him. Silently, silently "Hi" she boomed in his ear. The page jumped and screamed, almost running off before he noticed who it was. The poor boy did his best to try and straighten himself up but to no avail.
After a few minutes she asked him "What news is there for you to need to come out here and tell me." He looked at her and replied steadily "There is a possibility that fire troops have breached the air castle and are attacking the occupants. Also, it is belived that Rikki is there as is Isis." Mercury frowned, weighing up her choices. She could go there and maybe her pages were wrong so she would look like an idiot, she could go there and get yelled at if they were managing on their own or she could go and help. After all, she was allies with most of them.......
After a resonable amount of time, she decided to go and possibly stand with a chance of kicking some butt. She shifted into a white tiger again without so much as a word to the page and bounded off towards the castle to go and get her weaponry and a horse. And food.... Lots of food. She ran through the gardens she had before walked through and burst through one of the numerous secret passages to her room. She passed through seemingly perfectly solid walls and ended up in her monochrome room. She picked up her light armour and ran into the bathroom, stripping quickly and washing. She slipped into her underclothes and put on her armour before emerging and grabbing her sword and it's elaborate scabbard that were lying on her bed. Rushing out of her room shr headed towards the kitchen and ran into the cook who wordlessly gave her some food for now and some food for later. They had obviously been warned as she peeked into her pack. There was a nice arrangement of food that would suit a ride to her allies. She ran back to her room and grabbed her favourite pack that could go over her shoulder, on her back or on a horse and stuffed the food in it along with two blankets and some extra food that she kept in her room for emergencies.
Once in the stables she prepared her horse without the help of the stable hands and silently rode off towards the air castle.
...So we lie.

Fighting sucks...

"Yeah... I can do that." The fact that Kazuki had an idea, but didn't tell it to them worried Iris. But she didn't question it. Now is not the time for questions, only actions. The suggestion that people on the outside couldn't hear them right now didn't surprise her. She knew how to make a sound barrier, and she'd bet that at least a few of their attackers did to. The door made another large cracking sound. Iris readied herself to cast magic. This fight wouldn't be easy.
...Unless I'm winning.

((Hey guys, my character's name is Iris, not Isis. No need to change anything, just letting you know that you skipped the "r" in her name!))

_"Good... well, if we're all ready..."

I smiled, then furrowed my brows and closed my eyes, concentrating on the air supply around us. The makeshift barricade broke open, and for one precious moment, the Fire troops lowered their guard. Action.

I shot forward, cutting the air around me as I launched a high-speed strike at the center of their formation. The hit struck true, completely pulverizing one soldier's shield and causing a shockwave to ripple through the air. The enemy shields cracked and rang with noise.

"NOW! GO!" I shouted over the din, engaging five soldiers at a time.

The ranks seemed limitless... but no. That wasn't possible.

Wait.

I recognized the face of a soldier I had clearly already cut down. Then another. Then at least ten more.

What the hell is going ON?

[[I'm not prepared to waste my time.... is it okay if I just say i'm kinda there already?? Also, is it night. I'm going to say it is but if i'm wrong tell me and i'll edit it!!]]
Mercy reached the castle and heard the sounds of battles from within. Luckily she wasn't hungry, she had eaten on the way so she could now just leap into battle. She swung off her horse and drew her sword from it's scabbard. It glinted in the moonlight and she gave herself a few minutes to aedmire it's sharp edges and it's gossamer surfaces.
She held her blade aloft and started at a run towards the doors before deciding that it looked like she might want to attack her allies so instead she sheathed her sword and ran in but was ready to attack at any second. She ran past people and after a lot of searching, eventually found the source of the noise. She felt a shockwave rumble her bones that helped her navigate also and she came to something that might have been a library. Apart from the fact that it was almost completely surrounded by soldiers of one type or another. She began to ruthlessly hack away at any peices of flesh she could see and soon the soldiers began to realise she was there. she held her sword aloft again, this time in a really menacing manner and said "Who's next!!??"
...So we lie.

Being a shadow...

Rikky strolled rolled behind the men, sticking to the shadows. Not that it mattered much, they couldn't see her if the tried. Her expression was calm, her eyes taught and stern, flashing with a cold inner light. It would remind you of a cornered tiger, if not for the fact that tigers don't look like foxes. Her grin didn't reach her eyes, and she clicked her fingers, pulling at the shadows in front of her. True, a sword was too heavy to carry around all day, and she had a habit of leaving it places, but a shadow sword, meant that you never worried, and it was disposable - self cleaning.
It only took an instant for all the men to focus their attention on Tatsu, and for some reason, Rikash found that annoying. Though exactly why, she wasn't sure.
With a growl, Rikash's eyes changed colour, and she merged out of the shadows, becoming properly visible in the same instant that she took out a pale-faced soldier. She handled the shadow blade with her left hand, the sword becoming hard to see at points where it merged into the shadow, and with her right, she used claws to run rings around the men.
Then she noticed things. The shadows clung to some of them, like an outline that made them seem real - a little too real. Rikash muttered a curse as she decapitated one and ran another through in one fluid move. Death magic? She thought, disbelievingly. Can't be...

...Isn't much different to being like one dead.
(Lol, deaded. I'm not entirely sure how you found out there was an attack in progress at Wind... I mean, it's only been going for about fifteen minutes, and not even my own soldiers know that I'm being attacked. xD

Yeah and it's mid-afternoon atm xD)

_"Nice try, mate." I slammed the charging Fire soldier's head into a nearby pillar, which cracked. Spinning around, I smiled as I felt my heavy blade collide with metal and bone, sending another man flying into a wall, which promptly collapsed. I sighed. This was gonna be one hell of a repair job.

Screams from the back, followed by two different slashing noises, told me that Rikky and someone else were hacking away at the posterior end of the assault... you go, baby girl. Meet me at the middle.

That other sound, the metallic ringing... wait. "Merc!" I shouted over the din of battle, punching a point through a Fire helmet. "Great to have you! Help yourself to some soma!" I grinned, then spun and kicked some more a**.

Oh, I love my job.

Mercy grinned and her sword plunged into the chest of an unfortunate soldier. She focused on the veins of one the soldiers and quicklyraised the levels of iron in his body. He died and agonising death ; screaming as he slunk into the deep reaches of an early death. Mercy covered her sword with mercury quickly by shoving it in the ground and plunged it into someones bloodsteam. Yet another man fell screaming. She laughed ecstaticaly and pushed her sword into some man's brain. Blood spurted from his wound as she pulled her sword out, splattering her with the ruby liquid.

Being a shadow...

This kind of fighting, the blade to blade, rough and dirty street-brawling with swords, always made Rikash feel like her day's duty had been fulfilled, she half hummed, half whistled a strange, somewhat crazy sounding tune, and winked at a dying soldier when he managed to scream in tune. "Nice of him." She commented lightly, opening up a rent in the front of one soldiers face, then beheading him and turning round to ran another through, parrying his comrades bladeaway from her with the same thrust. The blade, being pure shadow as it was, made a soft, ringing sound, like you'd just tried to hit a cowbell with a shotgun - underwater.
At times now, Rikash was only half visible - though it was easy to tell where she was because of the pure, bloody carnage that rampaged around wherever she decided to 'visit'.
"Hey, Tatsu, mind pouring me out some Soma? Gotta love the stuff really. It's not nice of a host to let your guests down in this way, Flyboy, you should most definately have a word with your head butler about the lack of hospitality!" She was joking, of course. She tended to jok around when she was in a good mood, and killing things tended to have that, slightly skewed effect. Well, on Rikky, anyway.

...Isn't much different to being like one dead.

((Ya remember Mercury's liquid at room temperature, right? A little difficult to keep it on ya sword... XD ))

_"You scare me, hun." I grinned and crushed a soldier's rib cage, then spun to crush the air out of a man's diaphragm, when...

"AAAAUGH!" I dropped to the ground, holding my side. I felt the hot liquid flowing from the broken flesh as my finger found the point, which I promptly (and painfully) removed. A metal fragment from one of their explosives had managed to hit me while my back was turned. I painfully stood up and dodged arrows and fire bolts as I ripped a piece off my already ragged cloak, tying it around the wound and biting the hilt of my dagger. I got on one knee, wishing that Sakura was around.

"I'm hit. I'm hit! Rikku, you take the point. I need a second."

Unfortunately, I never got one, A particularly large and painful-looking hammer smashed the ground in front of me. Before I could make the obvious mental comparison to a meat tenderizer, a pair of equally painful-looking boots marched into my viewing plane. Shitsticks.

"Ugh... fine. I guess it's fair now." I looked up at the gigantic man and down at my now-useless left arm... if I used it extensively for the next few minutes, I'd rip open the wound again.

I grimaced, then used my legs to shoot into the air, setting the tip of my right-hand dagger directly towards the giant of a man...

Rikash sighed and performed a spectacular flip, running across the heads of the soldiers until they realised, and moved out of the way - hurriedly. Then she used the floor. There is actually nothing wrong with conventional methods of travel. She landed alongside Tatsu, and grinned. "I scare everyone, Flyboy." Now that's proper fighting! Still, while he couldn't use his left arm, she would cover his back. They were still killing people, wherever she stood - and he had picked her up after she... Rikash shivered, covering the motion by cleaving a man's skull in two with her shadow-sword. There wasn't any way round saying it... After she fainted.
Then she realised that the ranks of the soldiers weren't actually thinning, and where the bodies should be lying on the floor, there was... nothing.
"Hey... Are they using Death Magic?" She growled increduously. "No way."
Now she was jealous. She'd been searching for liturature on Death Magic for years. And these idiots, practically by accident, had stumbled upon it, and were using it to try and kill her. Gotta love the irony.

_Yeah, something like that." I slipped my right-hand dagger back into its guard, spun around, drew the sword from Rikku's belt, and slashed a soldier's head in half. "Sorry 'bout that," I said, grimacing through the pain.

Another shower of metal whistled through the air. s**t.

I turned, slamming the sword into a wall of air pressure and shattering the fragments into dust. The one-handed effort took a lot out of me, and I took a knee. "Rikku... we gotta get out... I can't fight forever like this..."
