Mea Culpa

Light - Dark
Water - Fire
Nature - Metal
Rock - Air

It's my fault. There's a war on. Between the Berlim and the Kaltar. The Berlim, people of Light, Water, Nature and Rock are deadly rivals with the Kaltar, Dark, Fire, Metal and Air peoples. It's all my fault. My parents are dead, and my kingdom crumbling to ruins, and it's all my fault. Mea Culpa.

The Kingdom of Andarazia has been split in two. Once, Berlim and Kaltar lived in harmony, the two sides bound by friendship, and the power of an imperial jewel.
It started five years ago - the separation, and the slaughter has not stopped since. Nobody's sure when it started, or how the imperial jewel allowed it, but there are eight left, who feel the guilt heavily. The eight heirs of the element leaders are the strongest weilders of their elements that the kindom has ever known, but they are not ready to take over the charge of their people after the death of their parents; not one of them has reached even their first century in age. Each of the heirs believes that the war started through one of their actions, and there is no-one to dispell their fears, indeed, even the powerful imperial jewel has vanished. They must find a way to make peace before the kingdom destroys itself, but they do not know how.
Armed with the powers of their element, an animal form, and unknown to them, a fragment of the shattered imperial jewel, they are destined to meet - for good or for ill.

Rules

OMG A stupidly long rules post!!
~I am in charge. Have a problem? Ask me. Have Questions? Ask me. Have a problem with someone? tell me. Have an issue wih me? Let me know so that I can lock myself in my room and sulk.
Just kidding about that last part.
But seriously, If I ask you to do something, it's usully for a reason, so please do it.

~Romance and Violence are accepted and encouraged - I love them! However, there's having fun, and there's going too far. PG -15 should be fine, so no Cybering. Period. I won't say no to gore... just minimal, kay? I love blood and guts, but others may not. LOOK THE RATING'S GONE UP!!

~ Follow the gaia ToS. I really shouldn't need to say this, but I will anyway.
So, no Flaming, Trolling, Godmodding(That is, taking control of someone elses character unless they say you can), Spamming, Fighting in OOC, Cybering, etc. Don't know your ToS? Look them up!!

~This is a lit roleplay. I want at least a paragraph (Four-five sentances), with decent spelling, and grammar and definitely no text talk. I'm not saying your diction has to be perfect, as mine evidently isn't, I just want you to try. No ** or anything else for actions, write them out please, and distinguish between thought and speech. using Italics and quotation marks, or whichever literate style you like to use. Whether you bold them or not is up to you. OOC is in {} [] (()) {{}} Or some form so that it's obvious.

~Pretty please! No tiny size fonts, I usually suggest that size 10 is sensible, because otherwise I (and my 'vision impairment') have trouble reading it, and I love to be able to read all the posts. I would also like darker coloured text, for the same reason. A picture, quote, maybe some lyrics or something around your post would be nice, it helps people to distinguish between characters and is generally awesome! But not essential. If you use pictures, they're too big if they stretch the page, okay? It's easier to read if you crop a smaller picture on photobucket or something.

~PM me, (Hyperwolfskull) your amazing profiles with 'Seaslug' as the title and put a burning eyes smilie (That spelling looks wrong. :{ ) at the bottom or somewhere so that I know you read the rules. I don't expect you to change my skeleton, and I expect you to double check it before you send it to me, though I won't not accept you if this doesn't happen. If I am not happy with your profile, you will be asked to change it. If I have to ask twice, you're on the blacklist. I'll give you two warnings on the blacklist, and then you're out. Yes, I'm generous.
Heeheee, Seaslug... moo!
~These rules too long? Hahahahahah I just posted a nonsense rule!!! YAYYYYYYY!!!!! As you've probably gathered, this doesn't really have a point, but if you've thought to highlight this, you're clever, or just experienced. Therefore, you'll know now, that if you put 'Enigma' in the title, you'll go on the whitelist!!! and my friendlist too, if ya want... and you're not already on there. ^^ YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor you.

Dark

Username- {Hyperwolfskull}
Full name- {Rikash Evangeline Calypso Moonshade }
Nickname- {Rikky}
Age- {Sixty Three - Appears 16}
Gender- {Female}
Sexuality- {Straight}
Height- {5'6''}
Animal- {Fox.}
Element- {Dark}
Likes- {The Night, Mint, Fighting, Being Safe, and not having to worry. Now that that's gone, she wishes she had it more than ever.}
Dislikes- {The Day, Idiots, Slow people, Cages, Giving up, Maths and calculations, and lastly, Clowns.}
Personality- {The people that are close to Rikash remember fondly the times before when she was always laughing, and happy. That all ended of course, when her parents died, but they remember it fondly all the same. She's serious now, and takes her work seriously, but she hates remaining in a chamber for long periods of time, which means that setting war meetings are absolute chaos. When she doesn't want to be found, you have no hope of finding her, and recently that's happening more and more often, so she can sneak off - though where she goes her advisors have little clue. They just accept that she'll return to work at some point, and things will be set to rights again.}
Biography- {Pretty boring really. Despite being an only child, and her element being Darkness, she was a content child, and hardly spoiled. Her tutors soon realised that she was a stronger wielder of the element than even themselves, and set her tasks from ancient manuscripts and books, which Rkky devoured, and practised frequently. She was often seen at her fathers side, learning how to manage the kingdom, though almost as frequently, she managed to slope off into the city on her own. Only her father could ever catch her out on these endevours, and it soon became a practise on espionage. When he died, it was noted that she spent more time alone, and more time practising with weapons. She feels guilty for the death of her parents, she feels that she took her father's attention away from his people, and he neglected them for her.}

Fire

Username- Yllibb
Jacob Hurthorn Clearweather
Nickname- Jake.
Age- Fifty. Looks twenty.
Gender- Male
Sexuality- Straight
Height- Six feet six inches tall.
Animal- Albino Gorrilla.
Element- Fire
Likes- Books, swordplay, animals, his keen sense of detection and hunting ability.
Dislikes- Injustice, evil, stupid people, frilly cakes and other foods like it.
Personality- Jacob should have grown up spoiled and pampered beyond belief. Should have. He never turned that way, despite his parents attempt at making him into one of "those" nobles. Into nothing more then clothes, his looks, his hair, etc. Their perfect version of the perfect child. Even during the times that he wanted to be a good child and do that, he found it impossible. His regular personality always clashed with it. Though he could wear a charming smile with the rest of them, his element always seemed to give him a firey attitude. Quick to anger, and quicker to cool down, he got in many scraps as a child, and people learned to give him a wide bearth. When he was not angry, he was thinking. About this, and that, and the past, and the future. It was quickly found out he had thirst for knowledge that rivaled even his anger. Also, though most knew him for his anger, he had a side he showed more often then not. He was kind to all, from the pompous nobles, to the lowest of beggars. Always ready with a kind word, a smile, even gold on occassion. Though it's his real face, sometimes it becomes a mask for the guilt that eats away at him. Also, other then the kindness, he tends to keep his emotions in check, to himself. Sadness, true happiness, most never see that side of him. Most never want the chance to do so.
Biography- Jacob was born into the fire kingdom, a land known well for its strong of heart and body children. Jacob Hurthon Clearweather was no different. Even as a baby he never cried. It was as if, even only moments old, he could sense that it was expected of him. That a Clearweather did not cry. Ever. Right away he was named the "Miracle Child" due to the fact that his mother supposedly was barren, unable to give birth to any children. Then came Jake, strong and healthy as any child could be. No other children would be born to her, so they had named him that before giving him his actual name. Thus, the pampering began. On a scale the likes never seen. Before he could walk he was drilled in right and wrong, how to uphold the fire kingdoms values, and how to weild a sword.

Yes, the Fire kingdom was also known famously for the warriors they made. They had one of the strongest armies, if not the strongest. And the son of the king would be no different. In fact, he was being bred to be stronger then the strongest. Faster then the fastest. Better... Well, you get the point. By the time he was five he was proficient with a long dagger. By the time he was ten he could use the sword as well as the soldiers army. By the time he was twenty, he could probably beat the entire fire army by itself, not that he would brag such a thing. Anyways, we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves. As a child he was actually what his parents wanted him to be. Serious, stern, no nonsense, even a bit pretentious. Growing up he always knew what he was: The miracle child born to the king and queen of the fire kingdom. How could that not go to ones head?

When he was about eleven, this attitude of his, combined with the natural firey temper of his people, landed him in rather boiling water. Already he was no stranger to fisting it out when somebody insulted his honor, his family, or anything else involved with him. One day an emmisary, along with his child, came to call apon the king and queen. The adults went to confer, and the children were left to play. They did just that. At first. Most of the moments were blurry to Jacob of what transpired. Vaugly he recalled the other kid wanting to play a game that Jake had never heard of, and of him getting angry over that fact, demanding to play a game that he knew. A name was thrown out.

Next thing the Clearweather child knew he was being pulled off the other child, his fists scraped and bloody with the other kid's blood. Even while being pulled off he remembered trying to pull away, to go back to the kid and finish the job. Of course, the water emmisary took this as a slight, demanding a public apology. They being the fire kingdom, were too proud for such a thing. Besides, his father was more then a little secretly happy about what Jake had done. 'Showed that pompous brat' he had said later that night to his wife. Suffice it to say the water emmisary left with his cheeks flushed with indignation. Who knew there were that many bad names?

And the war continued. His parents assured him the war would have continued regardless of his actions, but Jacob could not help but feel guilty over what he had done. The war was now his fault. Had to be. If he had not hurt the other kid, then maybe... After that day he changed his life around. Sure, his anger stayed, that would never leave, but he fixed himself in other ways. Instead of looking down on everybody, he tried to see them all as equals, as possible friends. He now smiled whenever he could. That one took a lot of practice. And he was always kind. To anyone that deserved it, anyways. More so to the peasents then anyone. They needed the most kindness, as their lot in life was nowhere near as good as his. So, whenever one of them would need help with tilling their land, or for getting rid of rats in the cellar, or any other odd job, you would always find Jacob at the front of volunteers.

Once, when he was fifteen, a pestilence broke out, and most of the farmers were taken out. Not killed, just bed riden. Being so close to harvest they were too few a man and woman to bring everything in on time. They only had a couple of weeks before the frost would get there. The plea for help had gone ignored by all the nobels, and the king was loath to make his soldiers work as commoners do. And, once again, Jake was there to help. Let the rich sit in luxury. It was not just the peasents that would suffer in any case. This would affect their stores, too. So, he helped. In fact, he worked harder then everyone else. Whereas they started at sunup and went to their homes at sundown, Jacob could still be found in the fields, cutting away the various grains and other product, and filling his baskets to the brim before hauling them back. The only time he stopped was when he needed to take a quick pit stop, or when he fell asleep on his own feet. He would not even stop to eat.

If it had not been the others seeing how far he was pushing himself to help them, he probably would have dropped dead of starvation or thirst. As it stood, the peasents brought him food and drink. Just what the farmers normally ate when they toiled, but enough to get him through. By the time he was finished helping, he had slept probably a total of ten whole hours in the fortnight. With his help they had been able to bring in all the harvest on time. All the peasents respected him, and all the nobels had been put to shame. That the kings son would work harder then they ever had in their entire lives... Let's just say things changed around there from then on. Nobels actually pitched in when they were needed.

Also, Jacob learned something about himself. When he wasn't spouting off at someone in anger, he found that he rather enjoyed reading. Books were amazing. They could be anything from history to fiction. In this way he taught himself many things, more so then his tutors ever taught him. They were just meant to steer him towards being a great king, and how to work with his sword. They never brought up their histories. Now he is a grown man, still as lithe and strong as ever. His parents, though much older, still hold the throne. One day it would be his. Before that day came, he wanted to find some way to stop the war, to end it peacefully. So, he set out to go travel the kingdoms, to live in their cities, to try and understand the people. His first stop? The kingdom of light. For some reason that one was closest. And this is where his story begins...

Air

"]Username- SharadSun
Full name- Tatsumaki Fujin Kazuki
Nickname- Hayabusa, Tatsu
Age- Real Age: 85. Appearance: 17
Gender- Male, thank you very much.
Sexuality- Straight
Height- 6’0
Animal- Falcon… a large one.
Element- Air/Wind. Good friends with the Dark.
Likes- Personal strength of character, speed, thrills/fights, honor and chivalry, cute or kinda bitchy girls o3o, the night, parties (the fun kind), being with and protecting friends, standing up to bullies, innocence.
Dislikes- Pretentious b*****ds, injustice, abuse of power, blatant untruth, false incrimination, wanton destruction and waste, the wrong people being put ninto power, corruption.
Personality- People think I have problems. They are probably right. I love to push my own limits and poke fun at nearly everything… but inside, I am really a romantic and a nice person. On the outside I’m a total a*****e.
Biography- Well… my parents adopted me for my power. I’m not sure what my family life was like before that, because I don’t remember. My only souvenirs from that time are a bunch of scars all over me… they told me I was a fighter. That my parents abused me, and I took my stress out on bullies in the village. But, I digress… I was adopted by the royal family for my power. I used to actually enjoy school, because it taught me how to control my power. I was always a hero-type, someone who tried to stand up for the masses no matter what… it got my adopted parents killed. I went into hiding after the military coup, and fought myself into hiding. Then back out a few years later. The junta died away and I took my rightful place as leader. And here I am… a young man, leading a nation.
Appearance- Raven hair, jet black eyes, and a constant grin. I’m always smiling, a bit mysteriously, some people say. I have dark skin, so sue me. The air nation is a proud people. Anyways… I always carry a pair of daggers. They’re the finest weapons a man could carry. Maybe, if you’re unlucky enough, you’ll get to meet them. I generally wear brown travelling boots and black riding armor, with two holes carved into the back. I am blessed with the ability to half-shift, growing only the wings and hollow bones of the falcon. This allows me to attack with the reflexes and speed of the falcon, but the weapons of a human. Some call me an angel. I call it luck.

Light

Username- {Toxias}
Full name- {Gabriella Lumaxa Seraphiel}
Nickname- {Luma, Gabriel (Whenever she’s masquerading as a guy)}
Age- {46 (But looks 19)}
Gender- {Female}
Sexuality- {Straight}
Height- {5’5”}
Animal- {Lion}
Element- {Light}
Likes- {The sun, playing, friends, fresh air, wild flowers, playing tricks, the light, her brothers}
Dislikes- {Starless/moonless night, irrationality, people who can’t take jokes, pungent smells, courters, her grief}
Personality- {Gabriella, or Luma, as the heir of the Light Kingdom prefers, is a bright person, carefree and joyful. She likes playing tricks on people, to the point where it’s annoying. However, she really means no malice. She just wants to have some fun. Absolutly energetic, Luma was a pretty optimistic individual. But now, the slightest mention of anything related to her guilt crushes her and she mopes around. But luckily, it doesn’t take that much to bring her moods back up again. Since the war, Gabriella’s been a little reckless and rash, looking for thrills to keep her mind occupied.}
Biography- {Gabriella grew up as the much spoiled youngest child. She had three older brothers, all always trying to prove how manly they were and how fit they were for the throne. Obviously the first born was going to be the heir, but there was still plenty of laughter in their playing sparring. Gabriella earned a lot of her bouncy personality from her brothers, always trying to tag along and keep up with them. At first they loathed her, but eventually they warmed up to Gabriella, or Luma as the whole family affectionately called her.

Plenty of happy years passed and Gabriella honed her element so she was even better than her rough and tumble brothers. She learned how to wield a katana, but all other school subjects went in one ear and out the other. Gabriella loved weapons and didn’t bother much with more scholarly learnings. This frustrated her father, and Gabriella’s lack of interest in courters and the such made her mother exasperated. It was this “mistake” that Gabriella is terribly guilty for. She refused a very very important courter from the air kingdom. She’s afraid that her choice was a spark for the huge war that continued.

Gabriella’s father was killed in the war, and her brothers took the throne in succession, each of them killed in battle as well. Gabriella’s mother was attacked by an assassin and killed. Gabriella now sits in a court full of sympathizing nobles and essentially is not interested in ruling her kingdom. She remains light and happy because she doesn’t want to think about the terrible grief that she holds.}

Water

Username- {KuruizakiHime23}
Full name- {Iris Evelyn Cecilia Godfrey}
Nickname- {Eve, Cecil, Lia, Celia, or just plain Iris.}
Age- {50, but looks about 18}
Gender- {Female}
Sexuality- {Straight}
Height- {5’6”}
Animal- {A silver wolf.}
Element- {Water}
Likes- {Books, swimming, the moon, writing, drawing, chess, most intellectual activities, being rational, cold weather, rain, snow, butterflies, music. She also has a closet love of romance.}
Dislikes- {Sports, running in particular, angry people, irrationality(unless it involves love), heat, wasps/bees/yellow jackets.}
Personality- {Iris is the girl you always see in the back of the library that’s always reading a book that looks like it weighs more than she does. She’s calm, quiet, but by no means shy. She’s the perfect person to go to if you need to talk about you troubles, but not if you don’t want some honest advice. She’s blunter than a piece of cotton. She’d kick your a** at a game of chess, and never challenge her to a game of poker. Especially not strip. She doesn’t anger easily, but watch out when she is. Most people haven’t seen her cry, but that doesn’t mean she never does.}
Biography- {Iris is the first and only, child of nobles from the Water Kingdom. Nobody thought she was really special…. At least until she proclaimed that she could read a hundred page book… at age two. Needless to say, just about every noble and non-noble was completely shocked. The citizens of the Water Kingdom were known for their intellect, but Iris was found to be well over genius status by the time she turned five years old. That was something special. She could take information in, and it stayed in whatever place she kept it. Iris never really went to school, since there really wasn’t any need. Her parents made her try when she would’ve been in fifth grade, mostly to get her around children her own age. That was the biggest mistake they ever made. By the end of her first day, the teacher was suicidal, and the other children were running away whenever Iris came near. No one really knows why since anyone who does is too scared to talk. When Iris would’ve been in middle school, her mother tried to make her more like a normal girl by introducing romance novels to her. Iris adored them, but never told that to her mother. To this day, her mother still thinks that Iris is a hopeless cynic. When Iris would’ve been starting high school, her father introduced her to weaponry. This utterly fascinated her. She soon became totally adept at using all known martial arts and weapons, which pleased her father immensely. Iris never really had any courters, mostly because of her genius status. Either way, the only love that Iris ever really found came from between the pages of a book. No one really knows what happened to Iris’ parents. One night they were there, in the morning they weren’t. Rumors were flying about what had really happened. The most credible was that there was a traitor in the ranks of the Water Kingdom Nobles. Iris now stands as the only remaining member of her family, in a sea of other nobles whose true motives wait to be seen.}

Biography- {When Mya was born, her parent’s vision of the male heir changed completely. They did not need a son anymore…Or that’s what they thought when she turned four. She was absolutely intelligent for her age, always seeking new things to learn. At her young ages she focused on reading, learning languages, playing instruments, and all that taught by her mother. She had taught Mya how to be a lady, and what she needed to be one and survive. Although at first Mya enjoyed all this she grew bored quite easily.

That’s when one day, when she was ten, she saw her father instructing the Army General from her Kingdom about the next battle tactics, that warfare caught her attention. Even more when she saw her father training with his sword. She insisted on being trained. Her father refused, he said those things were not meant to be for ladies, that she was supposed to be learning other things from her mother and the palace staff. Mya had insisted so much that her father finally accepted but only by training her himself. She proved to be more than good at it, Mya surprised her father with her agility, her speed and her swiftness with the sword. As she grew older, her skills with the sword, were unmatchable among her father’s army. Later she was trained by the Army General himself and taught her everything he knew, not only with the sword but with the bow. Later she gained the physical ability to pick a fight without any weapons.

When her father was confident enough on his daughter’s strength, he allowed her to be the General’s right hand in war. Not only did she play her part she even surprised everyone surviving more than one battle. Warfare was her thing, fighting for her people, like her parents did, it was something that was in her blood.

Mya became very good in everything she did, she became her parent’s prodigy child. And there was no doubt she would be the heir to the throne, his father knew he had made the right decision. Her passion for politics and negotiations became a gift. Since young she like going with her father to political conferences and so on, she even proposed ideas herself surprising everyone in the room.
Her parents knew they would not live to see her on the throne, they know bigger things were coming for them and fate was inevitable. When they died, they had their most trusted men teach her everything she needed to know to wield her element, to master it and be able to use it in any way.

Since it was nature she belonged to, Mya learned to use healing herbs, poisonous herbs, she learned how to move everything around her at her own will. Still, she was so heartbroken by her parent’s passing that she practiced her element until she had no more energy, since it had been her father’s last will for her to be taught to use her element. Her people trust her, and trust the decision her father made of making her Queen, but breaking the tradition of the male heir was something they all doubted.

Username- {The Phrenologikal Cat.}
Full name- {Juulias Parrish.}
Nickname- {Jools.}
Age- {Seventy-four.}
Gender- {Male.}
Sexuality- {Whatever.}
Height- {Humiliatingly short at five foot even.}
Animal- {Aetosaur.}
Element- {Rock.}
Likes- {Nice quiet spots where you are not around.}
Dislikes- {Haha... you.}
Personality- {Antisocial would be... putting it kindly. Downright curmudgeonly would be a more accurate description. He's not so much rational as he is practical. After all, logic can be very silly at times. He does the job that's in front of him, and doesn't put extra thought into it. He doesn't talk; he watches and he listens. He's the sort of person you call daft just because he doesn't put more thought into things he has to and he hasn't done anything that could be considered a show of intelligence.}
Biography- {Hardy and practical. Good enough traits for a subject in the rock kingdom, but for one who was expected to take the thrown after the demise of the current ruler, a little head for politics wouldn't have gone astray. For the most part, Jools made his parents and tutors despair for his shallow and superficial application of knowledge and thought to problems. His thinking was too straight forward for ruling -- the sort that says, if you find a tough knot, just cut through it. A hard-headed, even blundering approach to the world. So while he needed very little training to control the rocks beneath his feet, being a savant with the element, he spent most of his upbringing being taught the mind games and little traps and tricks of rulers.

Jools was not happy. Developing quickly into a naturally spiteful person, the more he was pushed to understand politics, the more he dug in his heels, gritted his teeth, and refused his education. Which would have been fine if he had time to mature, to realise that this was about his kingdom and his people, not him. Alas, life doesn't care for such things...}

Appearance- {Sweet, earnest and baby-faced. Not the rough and ruddy sort you'd expect from a kingdom that makes its life by hard, unforgiving rock. And certainly not the origins of that sharp, snapping, selfish little mind buried deep within rather cute, in a boyish fashion, features. Small, dangerously thin, with wild golden curls turning to brown with maturity and wise, mournful black-brown eyes. He looks like a slow, thoughtful child, considerate and intelligent and, above all, friendly. In fact, Jools is a prime lesson in not judging a book by its cover.}

Being a shadow...

Rikash was watched by twenty pairs of eyes as she idly flipped a needle sharp dagger in one hand. She was in a bad mood, anyone who entered the room could feel it in the thick tension that laced the air, and could see it in the grim faces of the boardmen, watching the girl. More so though, the aura of hope that rested in the men's gazes was enough to make anyone scream. Rikash Moonshade found that she very nearly would, and gritted her teeth, letting her favorite dagger plunge point first into the solid oak of the ancient table.
"So what you're saying..." Rikash sighed, resolutely meeting the eyes of everyone in the room, "Is that the trade routes all over the kingdom have broken down...?" As twenty heads nodded as one, she plucked the knife from the table and spun it easily in her hand again. The men were beginning to relax, when the dagger left her hand to thud into a wooden chair, next to her advisor of trade, who turned deathly pale. When Rikash's advisors looked away from the quivering dagger, and turned their gaze back to the head of the table, they found that the girl was out of sight. That was when she appeared beside her trade advisor and pulled out the dagger, her voice icy cold with impatience.
"Do you idiots honestly think that I don't know that?! We are at war, gentlemen, of course our trade routes have broken down!" She scowled, and turned to pace round the table. Where she walked, the advisors leaned away and refused to meet her eyes, in the hope that they might be spared the young girl's wrath. They were mistaken. "Fools! Methusalah, what news from our allies?" The man shook his head and spoke hurriedly into his beard.
"Little news milady, they have been busy of late, though Kazuki certainly speaks well of you."
"Huh, that's exactly what you said last week." She snorted. "Jakith, what of the people? "
"Uh, well... Crime has risen...? Milady?" He said hopefully.
"Pah!" Rikash threw the dagger down again, and every man in the room flinched away from it. "I can tell you more myself! Mayhap, 'Lords' it would help the kingdom more if the advisors get off their heavy, useless backsides, and did something!"She fumed as the advisors stared at her in horror. Her voice dropped scathingly, and sheturned away from the door. "You might as well get out of my sight. I hope, for all your sakes that you have something of use to report next week."
She counted silently to three, and when she turned to pull her dagger from the table and sheath it, the room was clear. "Huh. Who knew they could move so fast."
With a heavy sigh, she glanced out of the window.
Sorry Father... You were always a better ruler than I will ever be. I cannot even keep my temper with your advisors!
Rikash left the room and faded into the shadows of the dark corridor outside. She left the castle by a side entrance, and no-one who saw her leave paid her any due. After all, what interest is a fox in the city?

Mercy Stared. From her seat on the cold stone wall she could see far. The city was grey, the light reflecting from the clouds above. She could hear children playing and envyed their joy, she longed to once again feel the rays of the sun as a blessing and not a curse. She pulled her sword from it's scabbard and fingered the runes on it's blade. It had once belonged to her father and it suited her. The blade was light but powerful and it reflected the city below her and the handle was comfortable and clean. The whole sword was neither overdone nor plain. It was somehow elegant and strong. She knew that some people said that the sword reflected her personality but she ignored them. She considered most people to be annoying when they thought her "Elegant."
All of a sudden there was a flash of the sun through the clouds.Mercy stood up sheilding her face from the sun with her hand. Moving quietly, she walked to a part of the wall hidden by shade. There she could no longer hear the children playing and heaved a sigh of relief. Replacing her sword in it's scabbard she pulled her knees into her body and shivered. Hugging her knees closely she began to sob. Still quietly, tears rolled down her face and she tried and failed to brush them away.
She heard footsteps and quickly brushed the tears away on her arm. Soon, one of her "friends" came round the corner. "are you okay, your cheeks are red?" He asked. Mercy glanced at him and muttered, "I got something in my eye. It's gone now," before walking over to him. She looked at him with annoyance that she knew he would be too dumb to notice. "I've got to go," she muttered before running off in the direction of another one of her hiding places.
...So we lie.

The Brilliant Storm.

Responsibility is a responsibility I’d rather not be responsible for.

There's certain times in life when you just... really don't know what to do. You could have everything, then have nothing. Then have everything again. Hell, it happened to me.

It was a bit of a shock treatment, but I survived. And here I am.

I got up off the plush sofa and stretched, tired. It had been one hell of a training session, and my arms were sore and raw. I looked over at my friend, who was experiencing the same sort of effects. I smile. She's kinda cute when she's tired.

"Hey. Sakura." I call to her. She responds by grinning cheesily. I totally taught her how to do that. "That was fun..." she responds. I think she likes me. Who wouldn't?

I can be pretty damn conceited when I put my mind to it.

I grin half-assedly at her and I'm about to get up. The door slams open. My ambassador to the Dark nation walks in. He's pretty freaked out... "Rikky's at it again, hm?" I say kindly. I'm not an a*****e all the time, I promise. Okay, maybe I was lying.

The ambassador sits down. I let him help himself (generously) to the soma... fortunately, we haven't been having much the same problem as the Dark nation has. We are tight allies, and we are currently sending relief and soldiers, along with building supplies, provisions, and anything else they might need. Medicine. Moral support (not like we have any, but okay).

You can thank me later.

I question the ambassador. Rikky's gone AWOL, as usual. She needs some love, that girl. Works herself too hard. We should hang out. Chill.

The window shatters. Some kid accidentally hit a ball through my window. I grin, chuck it back out. Chastise him, then let up and smile. Tell him to be careful.

I'm cool with my people. I'm not a leader... I'm a shepherd. I hang with my people. I live with them, breathe with them.

They haven't breached our walls yet. The siege is still running, but our smuggling operation is running well. We have supplies.

It's time to go fight. I put on my armor. Sakura puts on hers. She needs to get back to her boyfriend. My friend. We flirt. We all love each other in this city. Everyone is one. One is all.

I grab my daggers. Shiroukaze, Kuroukaze. The pride of the air nation. It's on our flag.

It's ouchy time.

Being a shadow...

It was a while before the girl thought to re-form again. She tended to lose herself to the foxy emotions, and let the animal take over instinctively. She was like that, especially now. With a pause, Rikky-Fox thought about it, then faded into the shadows with a sigh, stepping out in human form. She yawned and stretched, checking to make sure that her dagers were still at her waist, then she trotted down the street, looking for something to eat. Quick as a flash, a vendor appeared and pressed something hot and greasy into her hands with a toothy grin. The girl grinned back and took a bite, before producing a coin which was instantly spirited out of sight.
Not to say that the people of darkness were greedy, it was just their nature to be furtive. Maybe she should 'visit' one of the other nations, but after the council, Rikash didn't fancy the courts of the others, even Sharad's laid back command put her off politics. He kept telling her that she needed to chill. He was right, but he didn't need to be so concieted about it.
She licked the last of the food from her fingers, and cleaned them thoughtfully. There was only really one thing that she fancied. With a sigh, Rikash let her feet take her where they inevitably always did at some point, the front. As she passed through to the other side of the city, more and more people stopped and saluted her as she went past. She didn't ask them to do that, in fact she found it annoying, but whenever she told them to stop, they started again, so if it made them happy, Rikky lived with it.
"Commander Vesuvius."
"Milady. An honour, as always."
"Yeah. Cut the crap. You need fighters, I need to fight."
The commander laughed. He was used to her way of talking - though it had taken him a while.
"Western border."
"Got it."
Rikash turned and stalked to the position in question. Instead of choosing the safe way, and walking a little back from the fighting, she paced just behind the line of the barricade.
In many places now, the Berlim had broken over the walls, and spilled into the city. Barricades had sprung up virtually instantaneously, and the fighting was incredibly fierce. Rikash always wondered why the people didn't blame her for the attacks and the breach of the wall, if she was anyone else, she would, but they just took it all in their stride, they even seemed to like her.
She took the western barricade at a run and gracefully leaped the wall, driving her dagger deep into the guts of a charging man. He looked down in surprise, then she kicked him bodily off her blade into the path of one of his allies, and went after someone else. It was always so theraputic, and after stepping straight into the battle, it often took only minutes to clear her mood. Today was obviously one of those times. She was grinning as she decapitated a tall Light-fighter, and she hummed as she severed the windpipe of another.

Responsibility is a responsibility I’d rather not be responsible for.

Flying is wonderful. It really is... people call me the "Dark Angel." The "Spirit of the Wind." "Zephyr."

Frankly, I love the attention and all, but seriously, ladies. One at a time. Unless you're into that kind of thing, in which case I'd be happy to oblige.

Anyhoo... flying's fun. Takes a lot of stress out of my job. Sakura... she can grow cherry-blossom wings... and her boyfriend, Ryuujin, grows dragon wings. We're the Triangle of the North, the Three Spirits. They can't fly on their own, but they can generate air pressure enough to keep the artificial wings open. Enough to keep em floating.

I paid for the operation myself... they wanted to fight alongside me, and look cool/pretty at the same time. May the Wind save 'em.

Said Wind goes right through me... I feel my breath, in and out. Glorious. You should try it some time.

An arrow whizzes by, so we must be right over the Dark nation... right we are. "It's dive time." The other two grin and tuck in their wings, dropping like rocks. Shockwaves, then a sonic boom as they go super. I grin. It's good to fight with friends.

Rikky's spirit energy vibrates through the area. I decide to join her. That girl needs some company, I'm telling you. I see her lithe form cutting through entire legions of fully-grown men with large sharp metal objects. Weapons of war can't touch that baby. Freakin' fox, she is. Let's see if she can outdo a falcon.

I tuck my wings in, and burn through the atmosphere at the speed of something disturbingly fast. I hit the ground and fold my wings inside my back, then spin and smash a man in the jaw. It falls off. I do the favor of ending his misery, then shockwave an entire line of soldiers off the face of the planet.

I get up and tap Rikky on the shoulder. She's panting like a mad dog... like a fox. I smile. "Hey, baby. Long time no emotional abuse."

Luma

A single choice, a single mistake…

Gabriella danced. She pranced. She practically sauntered over the battle field. Her bright face, azure eyes, and cream brown hair struck fear into the enemy as she spun in delicate circles, flashes of silver running around her. It was as if she was in a dance lesson, not in the middle of a bloody war. Flashes of warm golden light struck out from the flat of her palm as her other hand struck out the other way, parrying a blow from a full grown man with ease, sending his sword flying in the other direction, impaling itself in the stomach of another soldier. Everywhere Gabriella looked there was a writhing mass of dark soldiers. Glancing backwards for a moment, Gabriella let herself hear.

“Luma! Queen Luma! Get to Queen Luma!”

Pah. Her generals. At least they had remembered to use the right name. Gabriella. Ugh. The heir to the light throne loved her parents, but the name! Gabriella shuddered, still fighting. The skirmish was going pretty evenly, no apparent winner yet. But the kingdom of light was making good headway, about to send the dark soldiers into an orderly retreat behind the barricades when Gabriella saw something, or rather, someone out of the corner of her eye. Ah! What was her name? Hmmm. Gabriella couldn’t remember. But it didn’t matter.

Armored skirt a swishing, Gabriella danced and weaved and cut her way towards the barricades, now ridiculously deep in enemy lines. Her men were frantic, but in times like this, Gabriella didn’t care much. If anyone bothered to ask, she would have chosen death over being safe at this moment. Why bother to live? But no one asked, and Gabriella masked these morbid thoughts under a masquerade of bright glee. She threw herself into battle with recklessness that scared the crap out of all her officials. Gabriella had always loved the thrill of battle. All those days in the courtyard, wrestling with her heavy brothers, making them curse in very unroyal ways and chase after her fleeting form. The archery, the sparring. Everything!

Now Gabriella reached her target, a short haired girl wielding her daggers with amazing skill. An aura of darkness seemed to simply drip off of her, just like Gabriella always shone with light. The fighting around the girl had been thick, very thick, so she was obviously very important. But Gabriella forced her way through with a blade humming with light. She smiled pleasantly, “Hi! And who might you be?”

And even as the heir of the light kingdom appeared to be the very pinnacle of politeness, she struck out with shocking speed, a lightning quick slash at the girl’s head.

…rivers of blood, painful heartbreak.

Responsibility is a responsibility I’d rather not be responsible for.

Woah, she's hot.

The one with the flowing golden hair, aura of light, the sacred blade, the ridiculously short miniskirt, the perfect body, and everything else that made one a goddess. She pranced about the battlefield, wielding her weapon with ease.

Hey, that sounded pretty cool.

She leaped around, impaling people with that glowing sword... that's cool and everything. But then she attacked Rikky.

Damnit, hot girl. Why can't you put away the weapons and just have a catfight with her? Preferably without armor? I'd pay to watch.

But you attacked Rikky. I'm not gonna stand for that. After all... never mind.

My daggers are out in an instant, one preventing the sword from moving, and the other poised to strike at the hot girl's throat. I smile. "Sorry. She's off-limits. To you at least." I'm a bit protective of her, even if she'll never like me ever. But Rikky's cute, I've gotta admit. Total b***h when she wants to be, but cute. Dunno how that works.

I force the girl away and stand in front of Rikky, ready to die for her. Not that I want to, but I've always wanted to be a hero.

They seem pretty cool.
