Lacie stopped, staring down at the rocks. "It's...it's complicated..." she said, which was true. Why had she stayed here? Was it just because her family was dead and she had no where else to go? No. The only reason she stayed was because there was no where left to go too. The rest of the world was falling apart, just as much as this one was. So, what was the difference? Besides, all of the earthquake activity that had occured was mainly over here, no longer over there. She had grown up there and she chose to stay there until the last bit of life left her. She looked over at him and was about to ask why he had brought it up but was interrupted by the sudden shake of the earth. She was thrust onto him and cringed as the two fell.

Seth eyed her suspiciously. Something was obviously holding her back, and she didn't seem to keen on answering him. So he'd let it go for now. What was it like in her home town? Was there anyone still left there? From the way she was acting there might not be. Then again you never know. Seth felt the earth move beneath him, and was flung backwards as Lacie collided into him. He wrapped his arms around her and braced for impact. 'Man, this girl is always in danger. It's like she's been blessed with bad luck. How has she managed to live this long!?'
