xxxA boy and a girl were engaged when they were still in diapers, because their parents wanted to ensure their children married someone of equal social standing. Now the children are young adults, and the plans for their wedding are leaving the paper and becoming reality. The young socialite girl has just graduated university and come back home to spend time with her fiance, who she went to high school with, before the marriage. She likes him and enjoys spending time with him. Her fiance, the second son, is unhappy to see her again. He plays off his discomfort at kissing her and holding her by saying he's very traditional and wants to save everything for after their marriage. She believes him.
xxxBut the second son has a secret. He's in love with someone else, someone he can't tell his family about, that he can't tell anyone about, expect one person, the best friend. You see, the second son's secret lover is a man, and has been since high school. The second son needs to figure out how to break off the marriage without being disowned from his family. The young socialite has to learn to deal with her 'perfect' fiance's homosexuality and what to do now that her future has been interrupted. And it doesn't help that the best friend is wooing her behind the second son's back, trying to win her heart, even though he's married.
Characters:
The second son - A gay man who'd engaged to a women and secretly in love with a man.
He's ridden with guilt because he doesn't want to disappoint his family, he doesn't want to
loose his easy life by revealing his homosexuality, and he doesn't want to hurt his fiance.
He comes from a rich, high class family, but since he's the second son he has no real
responsibilities, unlike his older brother. -- Sushi Alchemist
- The young socialite - A young lady from a rich, high class family who has just graduated
from a private university and is back home to get married. She falls in love with her fiance
almost immediately, until she discovers that he has a male lover. Now she's upset with a
broken heart and a ruined future.
- The best friend - The second's son's best friend, upper-middle class, who got married when
he was twenty, but is now unhappy with his marriage. He's known his friend was gay since
high school, and he's taking advantage of that to hit on his friend's heartbroken fiance, the
young socialite.
- The son's lover - An out homosexual who lives on his own, who has been dating the second
son since high school. He's sick of being kept a secret and he wants to make a life with the
second son, and is tired of him being spineless and a coward. -- fallingOUTofPLANES
- The friend's wife - The best friend's wife, who's being cheated on. She knows it too, and she's
hired a lawyer for a divorce.
