User Imageats blinked in surprise as Clarice suddenly injected herself into their fight. He didn't comprehend her intervention until she spoke then he narrowed his eyes in confusion. "You gotta be kidding, Clarice, I barely touched him!" He didn't understand what all the worry was about. It wasn't like he was going to take the boy's head off. The itchy sensation to his skin was gone and he was sure his eyes had returned to normal. He stepped back, rather huffily. He hated to sound chauvinistic but it was just like a girl to worry unnecessarily. He consoled himself with the thought that she was probably just protecting Jared. Even if he hadn't intended to, he might still have taken Jared's head off if things got too out of control.

He could definitely kill someone if he wanted to. Kats ignored negative thoughts of the past. He was wild but he wasn't an animal; he could control himself. He had only turned to the animal and neglected his humanity that one time...

Back to the present. He sucked his teeth petulantly and surreptitiously rolled his eyes. "Let's keep going," he said lowly. "My turn." He went to Clarice and carefully removed the camera from around her neck. He looked through the lens and hit the maximum zoom button, aiming back the way they'd come, to the street. He watched intently and after a moment hit the snap button. Smiling lightly, he showed it to Clarice, "Check it," he said and showed her: a license plate of a minivan reading HRE-0189. "Number 18. Next!" He turned and dropped the camera into Jared's hands. "Your turn," he said, nodding. He turned and walked towards the edge of the forest and looked around sneakily. Cupping his hands in front of him, he concentrated until the human fingers shifted into stubby claws which he then stabbed into the tree trunk and pulled himself up, to rest leisurely among the branches. "Cheese!" he said, shifting to hang upside down by his ankles, flashing the Peace sign at the camera.

Though Andre had stood quietly and observed this girl with a quiet precision, he couldn’t help but wonder what was running through her mind after he’d laughed. She seemed relaxed, but a little anxious too. Whatever it was, the thought was persistant and must have been nagging at her more than just once between the time he spoke and she shared her words. It was almost entertaining to Andre see how she reacted. At first, no words came from her. Then she asked him if he minded if she called him Andre. It was then that her lips turned to that flirty smile. Andre’s belly just about flopped over on itself.

And even before his stomach could return to normal so he could answer her question, he was being lead away by the hand again. The only thing he knew was they must have been heading for the school. He hadn’t been inside yet, so he figured he was about to get a tour. Oh, but the thought of the numbers of people stressed him out. After all, he was new and that could mean a bit of attention aimed in his direction. That attention wasn’t exactly wanted. Not from everyone
anyway. Autumn, on the other hand, he wouldn’t mind. She seemed sweet enough.

“Ah, uh…I can—“ the boy tried to butt in when Autumn asked the man to bring his luggage to his room. Andre was very capable of it himself, but with the way that Autumn played her cards, it wasn’t going to happen. After all, the man was off with the luggage before Andre could try to interfere and tug it away himself. Even before he could manage to blabber out some form of a thank you to the man, the girl was explaining where the dining room was and asking if he was hungry.

How could he even begin to think about food right now? Granted, he was starving, but he had so much crap to take care of anyway. He had no idea where his room was, or if he even had one. That man carrying his luggage away seemed nice enough, but Andre was always paranoid and would have to check later to make sure that everything made it to his room. And, most of all, he was in the company of a really sweet, really pretty woman. In fact, the thought of her looks made him all twitterpated and spacey. It almost took him by surprise when she had headed off toward the drinks. Had she said anything?

As if to cover up the fact that he had just become twitterpated and went off into Lala Land for a minute, he nodded his head and headed toward the food. There was a nice selection, but he suddenly just didn’t feel hungry again. His stomach protested a little, but Andre dismissed it and simply picked up a roll to nibble on as he headed over to where Autumn was. It was then he found himself lost for words again. It wasn’t like him to really socialize a lot, but Autumn had dragged him out here by herself. He may as well try to be better at socializing.

“You can go ahead and call me whatever you want," the boy spoke up, feeling his stomach knot up over how silly he must have sounded. "So…What exactly is this place? I mean…” Oh, he sounded stupid, didn’t he? He’d read the letter and everything, but he just didn’t comprehend all of it. Either that or he just wanted to make some sort of lame excuse for conversation. “I read the letter and all, but I don’t exactly understand what’s so…dangerous…” He could have kicked himself.

                            So stupid...

                            [ ooc ] Sorry. Kind of a lame post. [ /ooc ]

Either Jared had just lost all sight, or he'd totally been rendered useless for a few minutes. It was quick, and he wasn't sure what exactly happened. One minute, Kats was standing there in front of him, tensing and relaxing. The next, Kat's elbow was in Jared's chest and his foot latched behind his ankle. The impact had in fact caused Jared to trip and roll back onto his feet. Of course, he made it to his feet. Just..Not completely. If anything, he was crouched over holding his chest for a moment before he was able to gather himself back up again and stand upright. The air had been knocked out of his lungs it felt like, but he rolled his shoulders and clenched his own fists, putting them up in front of him to ready himself for the next possible blow.

There was this sort of ecstatic fear that coursed through Jared's veins. Adrenaline kicked into high gear as Jared inhaled roughly through his nostrils, feeling an odd sort of thrill lingering in with the fear. It was odd. He just now wondered if this was how a marked pray felt when the predator was at its doorstep. That comparison alone sent a bone-chilling rush of fear through him suddenly as he locked his eyes onto the other male in front of him, who was now circling around Jared. Not only did Kats suddenly seem superior and much more capable of winning a fight than Jared, something was out of place too. His eyes. Weren't they usually darker?

Odd.

Shaking his head slightly, trying to force himself to focus again, the boy threw his fists up another time, waiting for what might be a good time to either strike or evade. That moment with Kats circling around Jared was like suddenly being the mouse cornered by a huge cat, thirsty for all the blood in the body. He didn't want to admit it, but he knew he was helpless in this situation. Basically, the kid was beat, plain and simple. All he could do was protect himself to the best of his abilities.

..Or wait until Clarice intervenes.

As soon as the blond was between the two, one hand on Jared's shoulder and the other on Kat's, suddenly everything seemed to loosen back up. The adrenaline faded, the fear trickled away, and the excitement hid away for another time. Honestly, Jared couldn't have asked for better timing. There was something about the way Kats was right now that made Jared nervous. Clarice had offered to pay for lunch, and Jared wanted to roll his eyes at that moment. He wasn't going to let a girl buy for him. That wasn't right. Then, when Kats suddenly reacted, Jared felt a brow arch in a high point. Odd how he seemed upset.

Then, as if nothing had happened, Kats was off snapping pictures again. It wasn't just going to be Kats snapping the picture it seemed. The camera plopped into Jared's hands. Though he wanted to interject and give the camera back to Kats, the boy was off and up in a tree before Jared could even mutter a word of objection. A smile came to the boy's lips though when he saw Kats posing for the camera. So without thinking about how bad he usually shook when taking pictures, his finger found the button to snap the picture.

"Alright. You can get down now monkey boy!" Jared joked, smiling brightly. Not only had he snapped a pretty decent picture, but he'd also seen Kats kind of act silly. Maybe not silly to others, but Jared found it humorous. After all, how often was it that you found people climbing up into trees for pictures? With that silly smile still plastered on his face, Jared turned to Clarice and lifted the camera up. "Wanna check to see if it makes the cut?" The jock started to take a few steps toward Clarice, but stopped when he saw something move out of the corner of his eye.

"Ah, wait!"

Paranoia was annoying, but it was good for this situation. He'd turned just in time to see a bird flutter into the tree next to where Kats had resided. Though the jock had no idea what type of bird it was (why would he anyway?), he quickly brought the camera back up to his face, focusing the lens and looking through to capture a good shot. It may not have been the most creative way to capture the bird, but it worked, didn't it? After all, birds don't really sit in trees for very long. They always seem to be busy fluttering around doing something.

"Okay. How about now you look?" Jared asked, waiting for either Clarice or Kats to come and view the pictures he just snapped. Though he saw them himself, he may have been too hard on himself, since he was wanting to just delete the two pictures anyway.

[Wide eyed, the girl retraced her hand and took an uneasy step back as Kats relinquished a bit of a tone in her direction. His words snapped, lingering solo in the dry air a moment while Clarie stared him down, not uttering a single word. Was he...was he mad at her? Clarice's brows furrowed, drowning in confusion. Was that really called for? What was supposed to be a fun spare was quickly turning a little more aggressive that Clarice wanted to witness; of course she intervened. Clarice pursed her lips, watching Kat saunter off with the camera he took off of her, leaving her behind still feeling the frigid stick of his tone long after he had said it. She was merely taken back. She couldn't find anger nor irritation in her, just surprise at how he barked at her. Maybe she was just feeling sorry for herself. Who knew. Even moments after, Kats ran off with the same short and abrupt tone, which made Clarice nearly wince every time he spoke, knowing all too well he was irritated with her. She merely heaved a sigh and slipped her hands into her back pockets and watched him snap at shot of his own. Clarice, raising her brows, watched him scurry to her side, revealing the picture, which she nodded to, before it was handed off to Jared next. She couldn't even feign a smile while Kats climbed the tree with haste and presented a goofy smile for the camera. Clarice was bent. Mentally she rolled over the list in her head, which Kats still had, and tried to figure out what was left. There was a few group shots that needed to be done, and they still needed to swap clothing. Of course there were the few others she didn't remember.

Clarice was quickly yanked back into reality as Jared called for her. "Hmm?" She turned to face him, but he quickly pivoted to snap a picture of the bird perched within the tree. Clarice waited until he motioned the camera back over to her sight, which she leaned in to look. Clarice smiled a little, nodding her head. "They're good." She was almost envious. The camera took such clear pictures. She craved for one of her own. She had her less than desirable two mega mixel phone camera, but it wasn’t used very often. Sighing, Clarice combed her fingers through her hair and looked around for anything else they needed to scavenge for before heading in a different direction. “Where do you two want to go next?”

Clarice teetered from her heels to toes a moment, unable to help but wonder where t the other students were. She hadn't seen a single one, and very few even took the bus to town. Did many of them stay behind? Clarice managed to force a smirk to herself. At least that would make it easier for their own win. Perhaps there was some prize waiting for them back on campus as well.]

Still grinning, Kats rocked back and forth on his tree branch for a brief moment. There was something curious in the air: it smelled like tension. They were both tense about something... No, they were tense about him. He realized that with just a jolt of shock. Had he been taking things a little too far with their fight? It seemed that way since both of his teammates smelled just a tad nervous, simply being around him. His eyes clouded slightly in embarrassment. He did have a tendency to be too intense, he knew that. It was something he couldn't help. He was also hyper-competitive; he liked to win and he didn't like to be stopped. Clarice interrupting his and Jared's fight had made him a little miffed with her and she, in turn, became anxious about him.
User Image

And for some reason, he couldn't stand the thought that the leopard might actually be afraid of him.

It wasn't a new thing, he mused thoughtfully as he casually flipped from the tree branch to land silently on the ground below - a real feat considering how heavy he appeared. He rose from his crouched and brushed his messy hair back from his face. He knew how he looked, his size, his general roughness, his boisterous attitude, it all served to present people with a preconceived notion about his person that was almost always false. Honestly, he was as sweet as a kitten. (Unless, of course, a real fight were going down).

Katastrophe decided to...restrain himself a little bit. Just thinking the word made him wince internally. Restraint, control, inhibition...these were things he'd been born firmly without. But if he pulled it off, he thought with a grin, his entire family might just die of a shock heart attack. Shaking his head at the thought, he shot his smile towards Clarice and Jared. "Alright team, I haven't seen any opponents so I'm gonna go ahead and assume we're in the lead." He shrugged nonchalantly. "I heard a playground a ways up ahead," he said, nodding through the thicket of trees. "So why don't we try there." He turned to do just that then paused in his step, looking back at the other two. "Unless either of you have another idea," he added.

He was team leader but that didn't mean he had to make all the decisions. He was proud of himself for having recognized that feedback from the rest of the team was important.

Maybe he was a little tense, but he couldn't be blamed, could he? From what he understood, Kats wasn't exactly human. Of course, the jock had no problem with it. Coming face to face with a possibly fatal blow, however, he did have a problem with. After all, it would be nice to live for a little while longer. Instead of lingering on those thoughts though, Jared shook them from his mind and hung the camera from his neck. The strap would annoy him after a few minutes, he assumed, but that was alright. There was a feeling that he'd need his hands free anyway.

Kats mentioned something about opponents not really being seen. Now that he thought about, Jared hadn't seen any either. Where was everybody anyway? Actually, he didn't care in all honesty. If Kats was right about them being in the lead, why should he? With a shrug of his shoulders, he folded his arms, careful to let the photographer's contraption dangle over his arms. Precious cargo. Yeah, that's what it was to him right now. Cargo containing their key to victory.

Gnawing on his bottom lip a little, as if suddenly becoming hesitant, Jared looked from Clarice to Kats. The next destination: a playground by the sound of it. It's not like the jock had anything against playgrounds. Kids just annoyed him at times. Sighing almost inaudibly, the jock tucked away the annoyance and moved his hands to tuck away into his pockets. "Playground, eh? I'm fine with it as long as long as I don't have any little hyperactive tots climbing all over me as if I'm their little playground." Then it occurred to him. He probably wasn't the only one not wanting that. "Or you two for that matter. Unless, you know, you like kids climbing all over you," he joked lamely, laughing like an idiot at his own stupid joke.

Just a moment ago when he glanced at Clarice, he couldn't help but pick up a sense of tension from her too. But wasn't she..like Kats? Maybe it was Jared just assuming things, but it was just what he thought. Shrugging quietly at the thought, Jared waited for a response from either of his companions, even despite his lame joke.

Noah was grinning from ear to ear as he eagerly followed Isabella. They seemed to have lost one of their own, and just where the lycan had gone was a bit of a mystery, but he didn't mind. Isabella was nice and they got along well. As the young girl excitedly began leading the way, he found himself getting more into the game. They only had a few points, so they'd have to work extra hard to catch up to the other teams, and with just two of them it would take a bit more work as well. Chuckling quietly, he turned to say something only to instantly freeze up as a hand was placed on his shoulder, and for a few brief moments he looked absolutely terrified as Isabella stared at him with an all too serious look on her soft features... "Uhm..." Blinking slowly, the fear turned to utter confusion as she suddenly stated she'd be taking off her clothes. The crimson flush that tore across the girls features was quickly mirrored in his own as he thought she was dead serious. Although she was quick to correct herself, at which point Noah let out a sigh before laughing. "Well..." Quirking a brow, he glanced down as they 'compared sizes'. He wasn't exceptionally large, fitting into girls clothes honestly wouldn't be that difficult, except Isabella was just so small. It would have certainly been snug, and probalby far more trouble than it was even worth. Grinning, he took a step back to watch as she all too dramatically pointed to the sky. He couldn't help but laugh again, finding her actions and almost rambly sentences amusing and, dare he say it, cute?
"Haha, okay, well let's go get you some 'man clothes' to wear," As he spoke he mimicked Isabella's actions by forming quotes with his fingers only to squeak quietly as he was pulled along to their next destination point.

With camera in hand, he wandered over to the waiting area while his teammate got changed. He made himself comfortable, with legs pulled up on the chair as he waited patiently. Licking at his bottom lip, he craned his neck back and slowly looked around the area. There really wasn't anyone else in the small shop, save for the cashier and one other young woman. Blinking, he leaned over to get a glimpse of the stranger before setting his sights back on the dressing rooms as Isabella came strolling on out sporting her new attire. Hopping to his feet, he lifted the camera with a grin. "Haha, you make a simply fabulous man, Isabella." Crinkling the bridge of his nose, he quickly snapped a picture, er, or five. Of course they weren't all the same, he had his fun in having the poor girl pose, until he was convinced they had captured her masculine side. Hanging the camera about his neck, he placed a hand on either hip. "Okay, I guess I can let you change back now," Smirking, he waved her back into the dressing room just as the clerk began to give them suspicious glances. He had the sheet of paper out again, and held up as he scanned it over. "That means...we...have...what, two, wait three now..." Furrowing his brow, he poked at his chin. "Let's just go look around til we find something, like a stranger to hold hands with." He smirked and pointed out the thing he was talking about on the list once Isabella came back out of the changing room. " 'One person must hold a strangers hang without telling them what it is for', heh, I was always told to stay away from strangers as a kid."

Handing the camera back to Isabella, he lead the way out of the shop. With her in charge of the camera, he made it his duty to hold he list. As the exited, he couldn't help but stop and point out the swinging doors they had just walked through. They just happened to be a bright, fire truck red. Checking it off the list, they didn't get far before the next object popped up. Off in the distance, just above some pine trees, the american flag was billowing in the wind. "Oh, there!" He pointed, a bit of a hop in his step. "Looks like it isn't too far from here, I think there's a cemetary over that way...maybe we can find...er, a grave stone with the name...Smith..." Reaching out, he gently took hold of her hand and began to pull her along. Though, he didn't get very far before stopping.

They were passing by the bus when he noticed two familiar faces standing just where he had left them earlier. Frowning, he glanced back at Isabella before guiding her across the street to where Asher and Kimiko were rooted in place. The shorter female looked quite intent on remaining put, where had the lycan gone...? Shaking his head, Noah eventually came to a halt alongside them, his fingers still laced with Isabella's as he waved to Asher with his free hand. "What are you guys still doing here...?" His eyes flickered back and forth between the two before falling onto Asher with a toothy smile. "Well we're missing a member too, so I think we all should team up. I was just gonna drag Isabella over to the cemetery to find a tombstone..." Poking at his bottom lip, he had to stop and wonder if Kimiko would be okay with that. The girl had after all fainted upon seeing a snake, could she handle walking around a bunch of dead people...? With a gentle shrug of his shoulders, the young vampire pushed the thoughts out of his head. Quite frankly, he didn't care. He was just finding excuses to spend more time with Asher in all honesty, he was captivated by the strigoi. Call it infatuation if you must, but just looking at him was enough to get his heart racing.
"C'mon, let's get going!" He urged, gently nudging Asher before waving at Kimiko to follow as he boldly lead the way. There was a pause as he gave Asher a worried look, the boy had been extremely tired before they came here. He only hoped there would be enough shade where they were headed to at least get him out of the direct sunlight. Noah would feel horrible if Asher fainted because he had taken some of his blood. "How are you feeling...?" Pursing his lips, he fell in pace alongside Asher as the small ground began their trek to the cemetery, finally releasing Isabella's hand for fear he was making the girl uncomfortable.

this is my chance, at a better life . . .

Eileen slipped her hands into her pockets as he listened to Lex. Just as she was about to ask what there was to do in town she was taken by surprise. Letting out a quiet, near inaudible, gasp as their arms were hooked together and she was suddenly ushered towards a bakery. Her eyes were instantly focused on the large, glass window and all the tasty looking treats inside. Licking at her bottom lip, she leaned forward to get a better look at the goodies on display, a grin now curled on her soft lips. She was blissfully unaware of the other teacher's constant state of unease, his neverending worrying. Though that was probably for the best, to stay ignorant to everything that was going on around her...
Her cheeks were simply tickled pink as Lex held the door open for her, which she was sure to thank him for before she slipped inside. Pausing, she glanced over her shoulder before quickly shaking her head. "Nono, I can buy myself, I'd feel bad asking you to pay for anything..." Pulling her hands from her pockets, she subconciously went to work cracking her fingers, one by one, before reaching up to brush some of her unruly, chocolate locks from her face.

"When I was young I used to help out at a bakery. It was owned by a friend of my uncle's...He'd give us free donuts all the time." Cocking her head to the side, Eileen stopped to wait for Lex before turning to look in the display case below the register. There were cakes and pastries of all shapes, sizes, and colors within, then off to the right there were brownies and other things of the sort lined up on pans. Really, this was one of the worst places she could possibly be. The girl had very little self control, despite not having an exceptionally strong sweet tooth. But her personal favorites would always be the cookies. Sliding down, she motioned for Lex to follow as she eyed up the cookies. There were so many different kinds, she really didn't know where to look first! "Do you like sweets...?" She asked curiously, one brow arched as she looked to Lex. Squinting her eyes, she thought over what the man may like. He didn't really seem like the kind of guy you'd see in the bakery, sifting through treats. "Hm, let me pick you something out." Grinning, she stood upright and walked down the line, trying to guess what would be Lex's favorite out of the selection. Eventually she came to a halt, finger extended as she pointed inside the case. "What about one of those, the, er...cream filled donuts, they look pretty good..."

. . . I better not ******** it up.

User Imageats grinned, shaking his head at Jared’s joke. Actually, he didn’t mind little kids too much (probably since he was mildly childish in nature) so he wasn’t worried about being annoyed. It was almost impossible to annoy the large Were, in any case. “Come on,” he encouraged, waving a hand and started walking, falling in step beside Jared.
User Image

As the trio marched ahead into the small shelter of trees. Glancing about, he paused in his steps looking up into the canopy of trees. From where the team stood, the playground was hidden from view, as was the way they’d come. “Hey guys,” he called, a sly smile slowly coming onto his face. “I have an idea.” He withdrew the list and beckoned his team mates closer then pointed to the bottom of the list. “I was giving some thought to this one. We need a creative group picture, right? So here’s what I had in mind: We position the camera and me and Clarice can shift while Jared stands in the middle.”

He glanced at his team members. “That is, if everyone’s cool with that. Clarice, you don’t have to if you don’t want to” He didn’t know how Clarice coped with her transformation but Kats wasn’t bothered by his in the least, he felt just at home in panther form as he did in human, if not more so. “And Jared, I can guess being surrounded by two big predator cats might be a bit unappealing but you can believe me, I’ve got complete control in cat mode,” he said with a confident grin. He glanced at Clarice, extremely intrigued as to how she was in leopard form. She didn’t seem too aggressive so he doubted that she would be any danger to Jared.

He surveyed them both, his eyes bright. “I think it’d be a really kickass picture,” he added with a casual shrug.

((Sorry for jumping in, Pink but I wanted to try and get this done before Rain ended the scavenger hunt.))
I can still feel your heart beat fast when you dance with me
We got older and I should've known (Do you feel alive?)
That I'd feel
colder when I walk alone (Oh, but you'll survive)
So I may as well
ditch my dismay
Bombs away, bombs away

Her right hand rested on the table, palm down, while her left hand gently held the bottle of Tru Blood. She was spacing out again, her mind millions of miles away from her actual body. Her eyes remained still with no movement, and she guessed they were probably a bit glazed over for the moment she was lost inside of her own mind. Andre probably thought she was crazy, her mind was elsewhere when she spoke to him, she felt bad, she hoped he didn't think she was ignoring him, because she wasn't.

Suddenly, the train of thoughts was halted to a stop. Autumn blinked a few times, her eyes now feeling only a bit dry. She moved her gaze from the table top to Andre's eyes. He was standing up from across the table, so with a polite smile she motioned him to be seated. She was allowed to call him whatever she wanted, hey? A small smirk formed on her pink, full lips. He was a very trusting human all of a sudden. But, maybe not. Perhaps she was just jumping to conclusions. The second thing he said was quite a lot more interesting, he was now asking about the school. Before she answered Autumn smiled, chuckling to herself at his innocence in the entire matter. Her left hand very carefully lifted the bottle to her lips and she took a small sip before setting the bottle back down on the table.

How was she even to begin describing all the dangerous things that could happen to this human boy without frightening him away? "There is no other way besides the blunt truth..." she thought before she began to explain. "See this?" she pointed to the bottle in her hand. "Tru Blood, I'm sure you know what it is. If it weren't for this my dear, you might not be sitting across from me right now, breathing. The vampires in this school are dangerous to you, should you be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Although I do believe we are not allowed to feed off any of the other students, some of the vampires in this school might be rouge, or addicted to blood." she shrugged her shoulders casually with a small chuckle. "I'm not one of those vampires though, so you don't have to worry about me. However, vampires aren't the only monsters running around unfortunately. The two-natured creatures are also wondering about. These are the people who can transform into a specific animal, usually a dangerous one." She paused for a moment, and she couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for him. He was only a human, he didn't really have anyone to protect him. "Besides that nothing else is dangerous. If you're okay with possibly being someones dinner, or getting attacked by a big animal then welcome. If not, I don't blame you for leaving. If I were human, I don't know if I would be here." But that point was moot, she wasn't human, and she would never be human again, no point in wasting time playing coulda-shoulda-woulda.

"I hope you stay though, you'll meet awesome people and your friends will protect you should you need protecting. Godric didn't start this school so these races would fight each other, it was meant to bring a bit of peace. I'm sure no one wants to hurt you." She smiled reassuringly at him, hoping he wasn't secretly plotting an escape plan from them, from her.

Circle me and the needle moves gracefully
Back and forth
If my
heart was a compass you'd be north
Risk it all cause I'll catch you if you fall
Wherever you go

If my heart was a house you'd be home

All I

Just a little emotion.
Cause all I see is you not feeling,
And you're

I

Why'd you have to go and turn to

Well, well. What a predicament he’d just jumped into. Here he was, a mere human, standing in the sight of a potentially dangerous being. A vampire. Granted, she had admitted that he didn’t have to worry about her, but how could he not? Well, okay, he couldn’t behave in such a manner. After all, he was the one who had asked what the big deal was basically. Stupidly, he felt a tremor of fear ring through his body, but he stubbornly willed it away by pretending to be brave. Maybe he was labeled as the loner, but being labeled as a coward would be the last thing he wanted. So, instead of showing his fear, he just crossed his arms over his chest and gave off a simple shrug, as if nothing had bothered him. After all, she at least ended her explanation with a positive outlook.

“I’m sticking around,” he said casually, taking another small nibble from the roll he had obtained. In an attempt to make the atmosphere a little lighter between them, he lifted the roll and nodded his head toward it, grinning after he had swallowed that amount of food. “There’s good food anyway.” Smirking, he laughed a little. “And pretty people,” he added quickly, a smirk still painted on his sculpted face, causing his cheekbones to become a little more prominent in a way. Maybe he was a bit fearful of what could possibly happen, but he wasn’t going to chicken out. Not after he was able to get out on his own like this.

Taking a quick glance around the area, he let out a small sigh and then looked back to Autumn. “So…Autumn…” He allowed his voice to trail off momentarily before finishing the last, small portion of his roll. With hands now gripping the end of the table behind him, he leaned back and tried to find a comfortable position. “Mind if I ask how somebody exactly becomes a vampire? Is it like the whole vampire bites victim’s neck kind of thing, or is it different?” Maybe he was being a little inappropriate, but he was kind of awkward socially. Especially since he just got a whole explanation on the dangers of this place...
