She nodded and followed him, she'd probably sneak some of his clothing when she needed some. Feeling a bold bold, she looked him over head to toe now and smirked alittle. She was going to like this place. It felt different here, she could try to be something more than would she had been told her whole life.

Lance realized that he was staring at him, but he just turned and smiled at her with kind of a joking smile. They made it down the stairs to the basement. The room he gave her was just at the bottom of the stairs. She opened the door, and motioned her inside. This room had once belonged to someone else, but that person was dead now. There was a large bed in the middle, and desk. Most of the cloth in the room was red. There were no windows because it was underground.

She nodded approvingly at the bedroom, her walls had always been white with sort of boring colors for everything. She felt kind of pampered, looking back to him she smiled, "So...Lance, are you going to bed soon? I'm sure its late, but...I'll stay up if you will."

Lance almost laughed, he hadn't slept at night in years. "Nah I will be up really late" He said. "If you are tired though you may go to sleep" He said. He didn't want to make her feel like she had to stay up for him.

She flopped onto her bed and kicked her legs up, looking to him, "Sheesh, no mirrors, pale, might as well be vampires." She yawned and rolled onto her back, still looking at him. Her arms splayed out and her black hair looking like a black halo behind her head. "So what do you do here for fun? I mean you. Y'know, Lance's hobbies."

Lance had to hold his laugh when she called them vampires. He watched her for a minute from just inside the door of the room. If she went too far into the basement she might just figure them out. "Well I read a lot" He said after a few moments. "I also write\" He wasn't going to mention some of the other things he did.

"Really? What do you write?" Serise watched him, her mind lazily ticking along, thinking. Today she had smiled, laughed, grinned and blushed in front of this person...and she hardly knew him. He made her feel pretty.

Lance thought about the stories he had writin in the past few days. "I write mostly stories" He said. A lot of the stories he wrote were about other magical creatures, no just vampires. Actually most of his books were rather happy.

"Could I read them? Are they here in this castle?" She rolled over and looked at him right side up, her hair tossled now.

Lance had his books all over the house. Some where in his rooms, others in the library. Lance tried to think of one he could let her read then the perfect one came to mind. "Sure be right back" He said and wondered off to his room. He didn't want to bring her along because the coffin in his room would confuse her a little.

He entered the room, and grabbed the book from on top of his desk. Lance was still in the middle of writing this one, but it was something he was very proud of. Lance then wondered back to the room with the book in his hand. This book was neither horror nor fairy tale. It was more of a story of the lives that most vampires had to live through. It was not about him, or his brothers but more their master. He walked back into the room, and handed her the book. "Here you go" He said and stood next to her bed.

Taking, it she smiled and hopped onto the bed taking off her shoes, she put them next to her bed. Her socks were purple. She got on her knees and gently brushed her lips on his cheek in a fleeting kiss. "Oh, you're cold." but that's all she said about that and she laid back to read the book, wiggling her toes.

Lance felt a chill run down his spin when she touched him. It might have been because she was human. "Well let me know what you think about it" He said shaking away the feeling. His skin was cold because the life was drained out of his body, logicaly speaking he was dead.

"Oh definitely." She smiled and wriggled into the bed nice and cozy, opening the book. As she started to read, it was obvious she was tired, when some people read in bed when they were tired it kept them awake, for her it put her to sleep. She didn't seem to notice she was dozing off, but after a few nods of her head, it fell to the side, her hair fall to the pillow. (I wanted to leave on a cute note and with a closing post.)

Interesting Facts:

The two highest IQ's ever recorded (on a standard test) both belong to women.

Sliced bread was patented by a jeweller, Otto Rohwedder, in 1928. He had been working on it for 16 years, having started in 1912.

||OK||

Lance laughed a little as she fell asleep. He thought he should leave her be. He left the room, and started up the stairs to the library where he spent a lot of his time.
