Kato could not help but eavesdrop. She had nothing better to do. (Was it really eavesdropping? She was standing out in the open...) At Loch's news on the condition of his shop, the giantess bit her lip. To think, she had been there not very long ago. It was a rough thought. Pushing hair from her face, she turned her head to hide a look of concern. This was a difficult thing for a giant to do. As larger humans in many ways, they shared the basic idea of expressions, and watching a giant make a face was just like a person watching their own face in a mirror - were that mirror close up, of course. Fortunately, her long hair covered up the wrinkles that filled in between her eyes.
Thinking about it, though, this was a problem, was it not? That shop seemed to be Loch's base of operations. Now that it was gone, had the resistance been flushed out? Kato sat down to think about this, leaning her elbows on her knees and her lips on her hands, which clasped themselves together. She had to remind herself that there was more to Loch than what was just on the surface. Did he have a plan? He seemed awfully nonchalant about the loss of the shop. Maybe there was somewhere else the resistance could go. Maybe the blind orchestrator had a bigger plan that could have carried on with or without that once-was shop. The maybes grew higher until eventually Kato was compelled to ask.
"So, then that shop wasn't the base of operations or anything?"
