What's coming...
Ten years ago, eight friends made a pact before they left their small island for the mainland. They would return in ten years, no matter where life had taken them, and spend a summer on the island. It would be a homecoming of sorts, because none of them had any desire, at that time, to return before then. So they parted ways, with the promise in their minds and their e-mail addresses in their pockets.
In ten years, miraculously it seemed, they were still in contact with each other. And none of them had forgotten their pact, and they agreed to return for a summer. The small island, not appearing on most maps, is nestled just off of the coast of Maine. It's home to a small town, called Herald's Bay, which boasts a booming populace of around five hundred people. They would be staying in the ginormous mansion home of [Momma's boy], whose rich parents were spending the summer in Greece. Their presence on the island offered many of the islanders work, in the form of waiters, gardeners, maids, cooks... The rest of the island is employed by the single pub, the two restraunts, a single, small motel, the weather lab, situated on the other side of the island from the bay, or as fishermen.
When the eight friends return, it feels, at first, like no time has passed. Imbued with success in their separate endeavors, they fall in easily with each other, happily returning to their youthful home. But with one of them comes a secret, and as people begin turning up dead around the island, all indicators point towards one of them. But which one...?

...How the game will be played.
o1. This is a literate roleplay. Everyone has different idea of what makes a literate, so here's mine: You use good grammar, you type at least two paragraphs, and you move the plot. Don't just have your character sit there, waiting for something to happen.
o2. Please post once every two or three days, please.
o3. Please make your character interesting and dynamic. The character ideas I list are just guidelines, don't be afraid to get creative. I give you a sentence, and I leave it open-ended for a reason. Dazzle me.
o4. The eight main roles aren't the only ones on the island. Don't be afraid to bring them in, and have them interact. If you want to kill one off, PM me with a reason.
o5. PM applications. First come, first serve. If you want to reserve a character, just PM me before you start your application and I'll gladly reserve it for you.
o6. PM me with plot ideas, or post them in the OOC. The fun of roleplaying is getting to interact and get different ideas from different people. Don't be afraid to help move the plot along.
o7. I reserve the right to change or add rules.
