Blinking the white tint out of his eyes when Zeph finally spoke, Evan listened to him laugh, whincing at his pain. If laughing hurt, well, damn. Must be some pretty messed up s**t then, isn't it? Mentally shrugging at his own question, he smirked humorously. "Most defiantly. She might higher a baby-sitter for you to drive you to and from work everyday," he joked, chuckling a bit. He enjoyed his Boss's company. He was a nice guy; well, nicer then some of the other people that worked at the bar, that was for sure. It was a good thing to have a friendly relationship with your boss, or so Evan thought. As long as it didn't get too friendly, things would be good. Never let your emotions get the better of you, his sensi used to tell him. A strong fighter has a strong heart as well. It was true, to an extent.

The flicker of emotion that ran across Zeph's face caught his attenion, but it was gone just as fast as it came. Quickly checking his heart, he didn't see any new scars or events so it wasn't major. Good, he thought, blinking his dark brown eyes once before returning his attenion to Zeph, licking his dry lips. "Na, it's alright. I don't need details, but I'm sure Jess will when you get back to work." Another chuckle slipped out of his throat. The doctor came in a moment later, looking quiet unhappy. Before his very eyes, the man's emotions flipped. He didn't even have to look over at Zeph to know it was him. He already long knew about the other man's powers; no one could hid anything from Evan's powers, even someone with a power themselves.

His eyes flickered to the nurse, who looked embarressed, a blush coating her face. Evan's own face was emotionless as he watched the exchange between the nurse and Zeph. How did he know I used the same excuess? he wondered, a tiny smirk tweaking in his lips. He didn't allow it to blossom though. Over the years, he had built up an emotionless mask he could pull on any time needed. It was someting to help protect him from being over-welmed with his emotions and the emotions of others. It was a useful thing. Allowing the smirk to appear on his lips when Zeph turned to him, asking him a question. "Of course. Let me go get the paper work I'll need, though." Holding up his finger, he disapeared from the room for a minute, returning with a clip board with a few sheets of paper on it. He could fill in a few things, like his gender, age, birthday, name, phone number, but the rest he handed to Zeph to finish.

Zach ran out of the hospital and stopped once he was outside. What the hell was going on? He thought to himself. Like the man said 'Your special'. His fear was overwhelming. He wasn't so worried about getting caught anymore but the fear of how his life would change if he was special. Specials as people called them were not uncommon and more and more people were being caught everyday for using their powers to hurt other people. Everything was confusing and he couldn't believe what was going on and growing inside him. But it felt somewhat familar.

Maybe he was special or knew someone but it was all like deja vu to him. He looked up at the sky watching as the clouds rolled by slowly, with all the thoughts going through his head he wondered about Zephyr and if he would be alright. And who was the other guy? How did he know Zach was special and when the person in question didn't know himself. The cloudy skies sort of calmed him as droplets started to fall slow and just a drizzle but it was still raining. He stood up and started to walk away as people brushed past him running to get inside as the rain intensified. He kept walking his slow and steady pace andit was almost as though he was in slow motion.

He lifted his shirt again and looked at his ribs that were bruised but not anymore. He touched them and there was no pain. So he could heal himself, and cause explosions. He'd have to get his powers under control and fast before he hurt anyone. His thoughts went back to Evan, maybe the guy knew why he was special or could explain things to him. But he coldnt show his face in there again, he caused the accident that landed Zephyr in the hospital then blew up an IV that was way to close to Zephyr. He almost killed the poor guy twice. Although Zephyr had hit him, he felt bad for the guy. He realized how wet he was and ran to the bus terminal that was guarded so he couldn't get anymore wet and felt around for his wallet. It had his metro card inside and without it he couldn't get home. It wasn't there. He had it when he went into Zephyr's room and dropped it there and he wasn't going back. He pulled out his phone and texted one of his friends to pick him up.

"Just what the doctor ordered," Zephyr said sarcastically as he accepted the paperwork, glancing over it before lifting his good leg and resting the clipboard against it, filling out the paperwork. He was glad, for once, that he was left handed. His right hand was only good for holding the clipboard up. It didn't take long for him to fill out the paperwork. Most of it was information he had memorized, and the rest was reading and signing agreements. After that was all over the nurse was back in and she took the clipboard and did a quick run through of the things he needed to know, also giving him a level look and saying, "I'd also advice against going to work for a while." Zephyr lied, promising her he'd be taking some time off. She seemed to accept that and gave him and Evan a small smile before walking out. "Oh," she said clearly remembering something she'd forgotten as she peeked her head back in. "It might do good to invest in a wheelchair until you're fully recovered." She said and then left completely.

Zephyr picked up his cell phone after giving Evan a 'yeah right' expression and checked his missed calls. Seventeen from Jessica, four from Lynn, and a text from Franca. Zephyr turned his phone off, glancing down at his leg.

[ I know, this post sucks. I'm sorry. Something personal's come up and I just don't think I could finish this post without having Zephyr become randomly depressive. ]

Lyydia—or Lyyti, as she was more often called—was spending her morning the way she usually did. With her vocal coach. As a result of a recent decision—and also because her father had discovered that the person in question was a man rather than a woman, and had therefore decided that her living with him would be scandalous—she’d moved from his house . Of course, it didn’t make much of a difference, seeing as immediately afterwards she had moved in with yet another male. But her father didn’t have to know that. And she felt that she had to live with someone, living alone was simply out of the question. She was from Finland. She needed a local to help her navigate around.

But living away from her coach was somewhat annoying in its own right, because it required her to run back and forth almost constantly. She stood now in front of the man’s piano, running through a scale. She did so sort of absentmindedly, though, looking out the window as her voice climbed higher. It was more interesting than the lesson. To be honest, she was tired of the lesson. She loved opera, no doubt about it, however she found her passion dulled a bit by the routine, and the pressing schedule. Still, to tell her father that…that would not be taken well. He would be insulted. And it would be an insult to her mother’s memory. Her mother had always practiced. She would need to do the same. She was drawn from her thoughts by the sound of coughing, and stopped.

The man behind the piano again. Her coach was middle-aged, but he looked a great deal older. Because he was a smoker, she assumed. She’d always thought that was sort of funny. A vocal coach that smokes to such an extent that they can barely speak. Still, he was quite well-known. How, she wasn’t sure, but he was. The man caught his breath, mumbling something about his rotten health before looking up at the old grandfather clock just as it chimed to signify the end of the lesson.

Lyyti left in a hurry. She pulled her phone from her pocket—a small blue Nokia—and began mashing away at the buttons in an effort to get it to call someone. She wasn’t all too good with a cell phone. It had taken her ages to learn how to call people, forget texting. Finally, it did what it was told and began calling Zach, her roommate.

Zach looked at his hands and flipped them looking at both sides. He watched the rain droplets form on the glass he hid inside of. The bus had come three times already and he couldn't get on. He rolled his eyes from annoyance as the rain turned into drizzle. The sun was back out and shone on the droplets forming little rainbows. He wasn't usually one to run away from rain, he always liked water in any form or condensation. He usually wanted to be in the rain instead of having an umbrella but with everything going on the droplets on his soft skin were just annoying him. He fixed his glance as he heard a familar ringtone. He could individually set ringtones for certain people that called like caller I'd. The ringtone in question was his roommate singing opera. He smiled when he heard it. Lyydia was very level headed and maybe she would know what to do about the current situatuion.

He picked his phone up and saw him and her posing funny on his blackberry's screen. He pressed 'send' before he spoke.
"Hey...where are you?" He asked her. "I lost my wallet,er.... could you er...send a taxi??" He asked. It was obvious that he didn't like people doing favors for him but he would never say that. Even when he lived in Texas he loved taking care of his friends and looking out for them and would do anything for them but hated for people to do things for him. It was werid. He stood up and started to pace as his roommate spoke back to him.

Zach instantly regretted telling the girl about losing his wallet. "I just need a cab. The wallet is lost. " He lied. He knew he dropped it in the hospital room but there was no way he was going back to get it. With his current address on it he hoped Zephyr wouldn't find it. That was the last person he wanted to see, he felt embarassed for some reason but hearing Lyydia's voice brought his thoughts back to his cuurent situation. Lyydia or L as Zach called her, didnt know Zach was a run away. He hadn't told anyone because of his own personal trust issues. Maybe that was why he was single. "I'm outside of NYH, the hospital" he noted. He had his classes today and tomorrow was Saturday so he wouldn't have classes and he was excited to just go out and forget about everything that happened today. "Lyydia, if I tell you something you have to keep it a secret....something werid happened to me today. You know those specials on TV? I think I might be one..." He choked on the last sentence.

She nodded, even though he obviously couldn’t see it through the phone. She was about to inquire further as to the wallet, simply because she didn’t feel like giving up on it just yet—his tone gave away the probability that he was lying—however she ended up dropping it during his next statement. It was obvious now from his tone that her friend was seriously distressed about something, which of course had the double effect of setting Lyydia on edge as well. She struggled to hear him over the staticy sound of her way-too-old phone, shifting to the side as she listened in an effort to clear up the signal. Finally, the static cleared and she froze in that position on the sidewalk, listening intently with a genuinely worried look on her face.

“Specials…?” She repeated, trying to recall what that meant. She didn’t watch much TV. She hadn’t had a TV set back home, because her father didn’t believe in them, so coming over here she had found the thing to be interested, but not interesting enough to spend all day on the couch staring at a little box. However, she did recall hearing something. Wait, did that mean that…

“W-Wait, speak slower. You think that you have become one…? How is that probable?”

She probably meant to say possible, and had messed up the wording. Wouldn't be the first time.

The room was silent, dark and warm, the perfect place for a good nights sleep. Evan was enjoying his time to sleep in on his black checkered sheets, face down in his pillow. Last night was a night of drinking and partying, since it was the one night a week he had off work. Everything was still and peaceful until Evan's phone started blaring 'Animal I Have Become', his newest ringer. A groan slipped past his lips as he was awoken from his deep, comfortable slumber. Pulling himself out of the pillow, he gropped around on the desk, searching for his beat up slider phone. Once his fingers found the cool plastic cover, he carefully slid it open, bringing it close to his face so he could look at the text. It was Jess, giving him his wake up call. Smirking quietly, he texted back a 'Good morning. Thanks 4 the wake up.' Pressing the middle 'Send' icon on the touch screen, he waited for a moment to make sure the text went through before pulling himself out of bed.

His morning routine in the bathroom took about 15 minutes. Wandering back to his dress with a sea-green towel around his waist, he dug out some grey plaid boxers, fresh black jeans, a tight, white tanktop, a light blue colared shirt and black ankle socks. Slipping his clothes on his slightly damp body, he ran a hand through his short, light brunette hair to comb through it. His hand was damp afterwards, so he whipped it on the back of his jeans like he did with everything else. Hanging up his towel back in the bathroom, he padded into the kitchen. His gut growled madly at him. Patting his stomach, he opened the fridge, finding cold, left over pizza. Mentally shrugging, he shoveled down a few pieces, washing it down with some milk from the carton. Whipping his mouth with the back of his hand, his dark chocolate eyes looked around his small, messy apartment for his shoes. After a few moments of searching, he found his black vans, shoving his feet into them. With everything secured into his jean pockets, he slipped on his leather wrist guards, making sure all of his daggers were secure inside of the leather slits.

Giving himself a mental check over, he nodded to himself. He was ready to leave the house. He padded down stairs to the lower level of his appartment building, going straight into the allyway. His bike was waiting for him, begging to be driven. Smirking loudly, Evan mounted the beautiful motorcycle, listening to it roar as he started it. Not bothering with his helmate, he pulled into the street. It took him a few minutes to get to the gas station that he needed to stop at, but at least the traffic was light this afternoon. Pulling into the #3 gas pump, he cut off the engine. Hoping off, he noticed a brown leather wallet on the ground. Picking it up, he checked it for some sort of name. Taking out the driver's licence, he scanned the card. Zach Dior, he thought, replacing the card. He found one of those emergency cards, incase the wallet was lost. He smiled at the phone number. At least he had some way of contacting the kid. Taking out his phone, he dialed the number and hit send. Placing it on his ear, he waited paciently for an answer.

Zach listened while his friend tried to calm him down. He paced outside the hospital still looking at his hands.  He couldn’t believe what was going on today, it was all too much. He stopped pacing and walked towards the starbucks that was on the corner. Before when Zephyr had hit him with his motorcycle, that is where Zach was leaving from. He looked at his now coffee stained white button down and cursed under his breath. “Okay look...” he told her. “I was hit by a motorcycle today in the ribs. Well nicked, but still I heard something crack but I couldn’t feel it…the guy named Zephyr who went into the hospital...yeah I went with him to make sure he was alright but as soon as I got into the room my ribs started to like fix themselves and the bruise and swelling went down.” He told her and went silent as he walked by people. He walked to the alleyway and leaned on the big garbage can. “It’s a lot. But look can you come get me? I lost my wallet…” He told her feeling like a burden. “If you can’t, it’s fine I’ll find my own way.” It was obvious he hated for people to have to help him. “I don’t know how it happened but we’ll talk about it tonight when we go to that one bar downtown. I forget the name…” He said as his phone clicked with some number he didn’t know. “I have to go, I have another call. Look I’m on Lexington and 96th. Thanks…” he said and clicked over.

He listened before he answered wondering who it was. “Hello?” he said to the other end.

As Evan waited for him to pick up, he studied the photo on his ID. He was a cute kid with soft blue eyes and a slight scruff on his face. A very attractive guy, or so Evan thought. Blinking when he heard another voice on the end of his phone, he licked his lips before speaking. "Hello, Zach. I'm Evan. I seemed to have found your wallet at at gas station on Lexington, and was wondering where you would like to meet so I could return it to you. Everything in the wallet seems like it's still intact." Slipping the ID back into the pocket of the wallet, he slipped it into his other back pocket, the one that didn't have his wallet in it. Running a hand through his hair, he waited for the other to speak again.

The fear in his voice was easy to pick out. But, fear of what? Fear of Evan? No, no... He was coming to meet him; he wasn't scared of Evan. Eh, he would have to see when the boy was close enough to read him. "Mk. I'm at the Moble gas station. I have a silver motorcycle; it's hard to miss. See ya in a few minutes then?" He didn't want to distracted him if he was driving or riding some sort of wheeled veical. It didn't sound like it from what he could hear on the other line. Suddenly, he heard the pump stop, telling him that his gas tank was full. Holding the phone with one hand, he used the other hand to put the pump back into its holder. Taking out his wallet, he slide his credit card to pay for his gas. Gas was pretty cheap for his bike, since it was so much smaller then a car.

Zach kept running and stopped when the gas station was close enough for him to see it. The man from the alleyway had been totally crazy. Zach couldn’t comprehend why people would hate specials so much. They were just like anyone else but probably better. Some specials used their powers for evil, which is a given. Some people murder people just because but if they had a power some people need money or want power. It just could get out of hand very fast. If anything they needed something like the X-Men, mutant police. There was no way a normal human being could stop a mutant, especially if the mutant was really really powerful.

He made it over to the gas station and saw the motorcycle. He didn’t hang his phone up until now. “Hey” He said. He looked at the man’s face and took a step back. “You?!” he said and looked around. Maybe he was being set up and captured because he had powers or something. “You were at the hospital...how did you know I was special before I did?” he asked.
